Guest Reviews
- Danny (6/5): - The hotel is quite run down. However the price is reasonable as the area is quite near to Jonker Street. It would be nice if they do a little up keep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Penghawa dingin tidak sejuk
Tukar bilik
Peti ais pulak xsejuk, cair aiskrim
- Verified traveler (8/5): - have its own car parking place, very convenient.
- Mohamed Arshad Bin (8/5): Short trip - Good stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenient to walk to food areas
- Timothy (6/5): - Location is good .. within walking distance to major attractions and lots of foods within vicinity. However, the hotel rooms are old and run down. My room lacks of lighting at night but day time, the window helps.
- Pirashini (10/5): - Reli loved the room. But its just the tv was nt functioning. Its ok... please make sure the nxt customer dsnt receive d same.. 🤗
- DennisKhew (8/5): - We booked 3 rooms for a 2 night 3 generations family vacation. The very basic rooms cleanliness are acceptable. Bed sheets & pillows are clean. This is the 2nd time we stayed in this hotel as some of our more frequent hotels are fully booked. This hotel is a little old but the upkeep is still good. We observed some upgrades to the bathroom like new tiles & a rain shower. Additional aircon fan coil unit is added to one of our connecting rooms which I believe that the centralized aircon had ran out its useful course & no longer able to perform its task. If at full occupancy rate, I predict there will be a comfort problem.
A sincere piece advice to the mgmt is that you can consider changing all the towels to new ones. Your towels look like rags. So if you really change all your towels, don't throw away the old ones, they can immediately be used as rags.
Good Nyonya food is serve at Samfu restaurant at G level. A must try if you are staying in this hotel. Had dinner there & everyone was happy. Reservation is required to avoid disappointment during weekends.
- Richard (8/5): - Close to shops and easy to navigate. Ample Carpark.
- Albert (10/5): - For the price we paid, this is a very good hotel with good location near Jonker Walk and many others. The overall cleanliness scored high. Much can be improve if you allow free car parking for confirmed booking. Carpark is RM5. I arrive at 11:50am, receptionist checked my booking as confirmed and is fully paid still refused to let me check in till after 2pm. Free Carpark not allowed unless I have checked in after 2 pm. Later at 1:30pm still can not check in. If the Hotel is full, I could understand but the car park was only about 5% filled, no tour bus around the whole duration of our stay. I waited for 2 hours at the lobby do see very few people checking in or out or leaving the hotel. Even at night, still less than 5% cars parked and no tour bus. Next morning at 7am ~9:30am, while reading the Newspaper at the lobby, I still see no Hotel customers. I would have changed to another hotel that had vacancy to check in at 12pm if the payment to Mimosa was not done. Check out is 12pm to mean that we can only stay for 22 hours with the strict 2pm check in even if the hotel is empty.
- Albert (2/5): - The hotel cancel my booking, not valid reason given. Please don't book or be careful in booking this hotel
- Tung (8/5): - The staff is friendly, room is clean. Will choose again if there is a chance to Malaca again.
- Bc (6/5): Double charge of Taxes and fees - Overall is comfortable, only the bath curtains is dirty. Online booking already included taxes and fees, yet the hotel said its a must to collect on the hotel side ! Also online booking is MR$60 more expensive than walk in.
- Jane (6/5): Stay here because close to Tourist attractions. - Toilet floor is sticky and fridge is dirty.
No hair dryer in the room. They will supply on request only, that is a bit troublesome for me.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location but not staff service. - Staff not helpful to get grab car for party of 5.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel is located in town - Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in town. Lots of shops and eating outlets nearby. Nearby all major tourist attraction.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location. Within walking distance to most tourist locations. Convenient parking space available
- Lily (6/5): Good location - Close proximity to Jonker Walk and The Shore. I enjoyed the herbal tea sold by an elderly man just outside Mimosa Hotel. Never missed this whenever I am in Malacca. Madam King department store which is a few doors away, is also a nice place for shopping. The hotel is also conveniently located with easy accessibility to food, fatty popiah and the cockles at the back alley. I have stayed in Mimosa Hotel many times.
- Constance (6/5): Simple non fussy stay - Average. Minimal basic necessities provided. Additional towel is charged.
Ample parking lots that is visible to some rooms. I appreciate rooms being made up daily
- Suketha (6/5): Hotel close to amenities - Stay at hotel was comfy. Room for improvement in toilet cleaninless. Towels need to be sterlized. Overall stay was OK.
- CL (2/5): Very convenience for shopping and food - The services staff was rude and defensive. Overall experience is sucks on this hotel.
- Roslan (8/5): Nice hotel and nice location too. - Room is clean, staff service is goods. The location in town made easy for visitor working around. Only a television the signal is bad to watch. This hotel recommend to stay.
- Mohamed Arshad Bin (8/5): - Very good
- Ken (8/5): Good location - Staff was friendly, giving options to choose whether it’s 2 single bed or 1 queen bed. Room was clean and tidy.
- Chew (6/5): Need to improve - They apply strict rule on 2pm check-in.
Water heater was faulty (Room 101)
- Michelle (10/5): service from the heart - It was my 3rd stay with Mimosa, we regret our decision on booking with The Shore Residents as the manager was unfriendly, rude he shouldn't even be in the service industry; as it was Malaysia school holiday & with a 5 month old baby we seek his help we were told to join the q through after q-ing for 2 hrs we are still in the q the manger told us we are short of staff there's nothing I can do hence we cancel our booking with the Shore & swear never to go back. On the contrary, staff at mimosa was friendly, as we have a series of unhappy event at The Shore I seek the staff assistant to check us in so we can settle our 5 month old boy the housekeeping knew our room when we requested for amenities it was delivered & always with a smile. A lesson learned from this trip don't change hotel for luxury & indulgence stick with what you are familiar, Mimosa hotel is the choice if you don mind a small hotel, with only 5 floor some rooms only access through the stair but for the service I would recommend travellers going to Malacca to stay here hence I gave all 5* rating for this eventful trip I had
- JR (6/5): Good staff but old hotel requiring major upgrade - Overall good clean hotel. Had a pleasant one night stay in room 508 at level 5. But the hotel being old, expect many minor faults with the room. Not all sockets were working, refrigerator was not in good condition, weak water pressure, shower leaking, sink hole cover was stuck, the carpet in need of proper cleaning, slow WiFi, old air-conditioner that only blows air at one temperature no matter how you set it (and the list goes on)... However, thumbs up to the staffs for their prompt response to our complains on the bathtub and refrigerator. We were also allowed to check in early as there were rooms available. Great location with many eateries nearby, short walk across river to Jonker street, 7-Eleven located right in front of hotel and also ample car parks. But hope hotel can get a major upgrade soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Improve on toilet pipelines and tv channel - Room condition is nice. Only the toilet need to be improve. Because the pipeline quickly clogged after we used it. If possible, they can add on the TV channel because the current TV channel is quite limited.
- CherBeng (8/5): - Great travellers choice. Central of Malacca
- LEE (10/5): convenient and clean - Great for local food'
- Kee (6/5): Moderate - The good things is parking area with guards. Location is not bad.
The drawback is the room lighting is not so friendly, cannot adjust the brightness of the light. There are mosquitos my room, please spray the mosquitoes killer in the hotel.
- Loong Hoon (6/5): 2nd visit - Room is still OK. A bit run down need some renovation
- Verified traveler (4/5): Unpleasent stay - Not confortable, smells of unpleasent smoke whilst entering and out going at hotel lobby.
- stephen hon (8/5): Near too jonker street - Mineral water should free of charge in stead of we are guest still need to buy at counter.
- KOK LING (6/5): - TV channels poor reception
No shampoo
Quilt cover difficult to adjust
Other areas are ok
- rohidah (8/5): Mimosa. - The parking staffs are superb. They really know their work. The other workers are ok too.
- Mohd Farid bin (8/5): - Great Location! Easy access!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Walking distance to Jonker street. - The airconditioning in the rooms were not strong. The TV reception is bad. We needed 2 rooms to sleep for just 1 night, hence nothing to shout about.
- Juliana (8/5): Great room - Its a nice room to stay with affordable price. Didn't expect there will be lots of facilities even with this price.
- William (4/5): Essence bad smell, low soundproof, low hygiene - 3 main factors consequence low rating:
1) Bad smell in hotel lobby - The essence used in the compound make me uncomfortable, I felt like I'm entering a temple more than a hotel.
2) Room's soundproof is really unsatisfied - I literally heard the TV noise from next door room. The airconditioning system is very loud as well.
3) Oily hair dryer - Requested for a hair dryer and the hair dryer is covered with a layer of oil. Hygiene satisfactory dropped in 1 second, no doubt.
- YIP (6/5): Value for mony - Mimosa Hotel is a 10 minute walk to Jonkers Street.
- Kwen Siong (8/5): Ok to stay a night - Bb crying all night from a room nearby, sound proof is bad.
- LEE (8/5): Great hotel in Malacca. - No complaints. Very satisfied.
- ann (8/5): Nice hotel - Room very spacious with bath tub , hotel staff very friendly..
- Tee (8/5): - Overall not bad but the only thing is on the air cond. the condition is not cold enough. Shall ugrade the air cond
- Candice (6/5): Weak and unstable WiFi but it still works - Comfortable room but wifi could be a little stronger and stable.
- Boon Theng (6/5): Mimosa weekend stay - Aircon not cold enough in the afternoon
- CHUNG PONG (10/5): Will have a second stay for sure - Very good value for the money we paid. Excellent location near Jonker Street and the museums area. I like its shower system and convenient parking facility.
- Agnieszka (8/5): - Decent place. Nice and helpful staff. Worth the price.
- SALBIAH (10/5): thumb up - thumb up!!! kipidap
- Hishamuddin (8/5): Just nice - Fulfill our requirements
- Verified traveler (6/5): One night stay at Malacca - Overall, it was not too bad though the acoustic is quite poor. Important for us is the assured parking space and it is safe.
- Michael Chen (4/5): - Is ok. But ask for tax invoice , they can't give. They said you paid for Hotel.com. Because need to claim with company.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location but room is small. - Overall is okay. Hotel location is good, many shops near by. Hotel room is quite small and the furniture is quite old.
- Loke (2/5): - Wifi not working
AC bad had to change room
Never want to go back this hotel ever again
- Mariah (2/5): - Not good
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel in Melaka - Beware the the hotel lobby smell like Indian curry. The room (1st floor) is access by staircase, which will not suitable for elderly.
Room sound proof was bad, can hear neighbor chit-chating during mid night
House keeping was nice. They actually turn on the aircond before we arrive, so we can enjoy the cold air right after we stepped in to our room.
Cleanliness of room/hotel - quite clean
Hotel amenities - no toothbrush. mixed (2 in 1) shower gel and shampoo are at the bath room wall
Aircond - freezing cold
Hotel location - great location with car park, which is essential for downtown Melaka.
- zarina (6/5): - Little bit noisy from other rooms
- Ow Yeong (6/5): Overcharging on hotel tax - The hotel was ok, charges are fair except your organisation is bad. More than double charged me the hotel tax. Wrote to you to ask for your clarifiation but rceivved no reply from you. Therefore, no more hotel bookings through hotel.com. Will inform my friends about the way you do business. Withdrawing membership as well. I guess you will not display this comment.
- zaiti akhtar (8/5): Good spot around city center - Everything was good except insufficient parking space. The parking attendant was not helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall nice and comfortable hotel to stay. I was given a low floor and the soundproofing is bad with the nearby music performance till the early morning.
- TONY (8/5): - Friendly receptionist. Good location to attractions and eateries. Ample car parking. Enjoy my stay with no complaints.
- Loong Hoon (8/5): - Walking distance to Jonker St.
At night there are 2 stall of food within a stone throw of the hotel. 1 selling Wanton noodles n the other selling fried oyster.
- S (8/5): convenient hotel, nice staff - The location is good, walking to junker street within 10 minutes. The staff is helpful and nice. The room is clean and tidy. But the view of my room is not too good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): So so - Not bad but hotel don't have much facilities
- Joanna (10/5): Friendly service before and after we complain! - Cleanliness acceptable best on the price we paid.
Friendly service before and after we complain our room aircon not working well at 01:00hrs and they changed the room for us with out delaying.
Free parking with good security and make you peace of mind!
Good location with good local food and keep you busy and non stop eating.
- Shin Kaur (10/5): Good and cheap - Cheap and good
- Chee Ngiam (6/5): Near Jonker street - Good location but very congested to be near Jonker street. Carpark is helpful if u drive there but my wheel punctured after 1st night. Not sure if it was caused by some local or on the way there.
- bebs (8/5): Good locationwe - We just walked and walked twherever we wanted to go and see. Although Melaka could still improve the pedestrian sidewalks, we got to places .l
- Verified traveler (4/5): good location - despite the good location.. the walls of the hotel is too thin. we were kept awake with all the noise next room and the walking about in th wee early in the morning. the electricity kept tripping causing us to keep waking up as well. told the staff about the trip upon our checkout... hope something was done after we were gone
- Verified traveler (4/5): Dusty, smelly, Rude. - The front desk personnel is really rude, the whole room is dusty and the carpet smells. The souring smell from the carpet was a huge turn off. The room was in a condition whereby it seem like no one stayed there for quite some time till dust collected and no one bothered to clean it up before we checked in. We told the same guy when we were checking out and acted as though as if it is our fault that the room was dusty and we didn't report it when arriving. Bottom line is, the sacarsm and rudeness coming from the front desk is unacceptable to me. If you don't mind all above, then it would be quite a pleasant stay.
- Huang (6/5): It is ok. - Coffee bag in room need to pay.
Bed sheet is clean. Breakfast is poor.
- Jilly (8/5): Not bad. - Quite comfortable and reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old and comfortable - Quiet old hotel but still quiet comfortable to stay.
