We were able to walk around & explore the city was so amazing.....our kids loved the fact that buses were just out the door,& town on our doorstep was an absolute plus for us as a family. All the staff were VERY PROFESSIONAL,friendly & hard case, wonderful to deal with,we loved the fact of parking underneath motel great access,super convenient Gold Stars guys The unit was quite worn & in desperate need of a re-fresh n updates it looked Real tired...( Stained carpets,dark grubby marks on the walls in bedroom, sink in bathroom was blocked & didn't drain away even after we mentioned to the reception staff) we expected x2 separate rooms NOT a room in lounge with noisy divider doors,the lock in bathroom toilet was lose n not secure,the wifi was like (maccaz wifi our teen) said it flicked in & out when it felt like it really hard to watch a movie without interrupting.

- Alain FERRERO (1/5): A fuir absolument ça - Rien D'avoir été prévenu seulement une fois l'annulation gratuite impossible qu'il y avait des travaux à proximité, qui ne pouvait être plus proche vu qu'ils touchaient notre balcon occultant totalement la vue (bâche blanche). Nous avons donc demandé à changer de chambre au vu de cette énorme deconvenue, ce qui nous a été refusé car " trop compliqué". De plus le rideau de douche était très sale, et nous n'avons pas pu utiliser le bain à remous prévu dans les équipements de la chambre car c'était strictement interdit par une affiche sur la paroi de la douche. Pour finir le parking nous a été également refusé alors que le personnel était encore là sous prétexte que c'était aussi trop compliqué. A fuir absolument.

No warning about this until arrival. The downstairs rooms share the wrap around balcony. So no privacy to leave curtains open. Only air conditioning in lounge. Not in bedrooms. One bedroom has a slat door. Not a solid door.

- A. Oto (8/5): Spacious and comfortable room - Like other “Quest” apartments, its appeal lies in its central location and hotel-standard service. The studio-type room was more spacious than anticipated and proved comfortable. The washing machine with drying function was very convenient. The staff were extremely friendly. Perhaps because we were assigned a barrier-free room, the dishwasher that should have been present was absent. During our stay, there was a day other than Sundays when we did not receive service, necessitating requests to staff for towel changes and such.

- keralaspicegirl (8/5): Privately owned apartment in this buliding was good - I stayed in a privately owned apartment in this building and seem to have avoided most of the issues raised in recent bad reviews. The owners made it very clear that their place is not part of the Quest hotel. Since it is located in the same building, I am providing my review here. It was not a cheap stay, but it was not bad. What I liked about the place: - Central location and an easy walk to the CBD for meetings/conference and also the wharf area for dinner. - The apartment is spacious with a desk area for working. All the basics are provided and the apartment was clean and kitchen well equipped for self catering. - Communication from the owners was efficient and early. They provided directions and access details the day before arrival - There is a deck area for spending time outside (but it is not private and overlooks a busy road and intersection) - Extra towels provided. This is so handy for anyone with long hair and is often overlooked. This place provided ample towels. - Although I did not use it, I liked that the laundry area was separate for the main living area. What I did not like: - The bathroom. It is a shower over a bath set up. The bath is pretty deep so not easy to get into. There is a step to get into the bath, but the tiles can be slippery when wet. Unfortunately it will make it challenging getting into the shower for anyone with any mobility issues. The shower is fixed in a corner and not adjustable at all. The bath also appeared to the one place not probably cleaned. Several hairs (presumably from the previous guest) made it less appealing. General info: Parking was included in my room rate, so I cannot tell how much it cost, but it was handy having onsite covered parking. Getting into and out of the building is not easy though and with a large SUV or ute it may be impossible. It is a very tight and cramped and dark space. There is currently major construction right next door. This means construction noise from about 7am in the morning. Accessing services like rubbish and recycling drop off is a hassle. It is not on the same floor and it is not clearly marked, creating confusion. The apartment was well equipped for a self catering stay, but basics like tea, coffee, sugar and milk are not provided. Bring your own because the nearest supermarket is 2 km away so not a quick walk.

- Lesley (7/5): Comfy and clean but needs a bit of an update - Bed was very comfy and overall space and balcony great Short was adequate with parched up grouting around tiles that look awful. The step up in Nathan’s shower was patched up with tape. The washing machine needs cleaned and the drier part was not working well. The balcony need a good scrub down as was filthy with dust and dirt and cobwebs. No ice block tray. Had to use our own apps on tv. Wasn’t aware parking cost an extra $15 per night
- Vaughan (1/5): appauling - Nothing, didn't even get to stay, they hadn't confirmed my accommodation, was sworn at by a staff member, my wife was totally disgusted by the behavior, we had to go and find other accommodation at short notice, not only was this inconvenient but also costly, i have stayed at Quest before but never again. I got given a voucher written on the back of an envelope for a discounted night, i would rather sleep on the street. everytghing

- Cambridgemum229 (4/5): Don't bother - Well I won't be trusting booking.com reviews ever again. Definitely need to do more research when booking a hotel. This was an awful hotel. There is underground parking which has a $15 a day charge or park out the front for $2 for 2hrs then $5 every hour after that on week days. The room wasn't ready so we got free parking, which I do not recommend if you have a large car. The room it self is dated, not cleaned very well and in poor condition. See pictures of issues with the room. In the reception area someone left an empty box of beers and it stayed there for hours. Also there are blinds on the outside of the bedrooms so you have no real privacy if you're with a group of friends or family that like to spy lol. Really not impressed.
- Sarah (7/5): Wonderful staff, rooms need some maintenance - The staff were wonderful! The suite was spacious and had a balcony with seating. The bedrooms were generous sizes as was the bathroom. Beds were comfy. A 3-bedroom suite with a small fridge and one sofa and small table and chairs didn't seem reasonable. Maintenance on the property has been neglected - lightbulbs out, no bathroom fan or door lock.

- Denese (8/5): It was so nice and relaxing, very comfortable I will definitely be staying here again in the future. - I liked how spacious the living room area was, the bedrooms were really nice and from the balcony we could see our car so that was really reassuring to be able to keep an eye on it. There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property, it was perfect for us.

- Ram (9/5): Good stay. Will surely return - The property was in close proximity to our main area of interest. The staff were very good and helpful. The manager at the reception was a superstar, very understanding and considerate. The underground Parking was very helpful. The pull out sofa bed was very uncomfortable for even kids.

Three of us tried extensively but couldn't get a signal. There were scales in the bathroom which we thought would be great for our luggage as it was our last night in NZ. We had received flight reminders asking us to have our luggage pre weighed before arriving during the busiest time of the year. Flat batteries, none provided. Went out of our way to purchase some. The scales don't work, even with new batteries. I wanted to iron a blouse and the ironing was velcro closed incorrectly making it impossible to open. I ironed with a towel on the kitchen bench.

- irene (7/5): Comfortable, clean amenities and very quiet. - Staff were absolutely wonderful and as helpful as they could possibly be. Very clean and quiet room. Equipped with everything I needed. Safe parking underground and lift from car park to hotel floor. (paid extra). TV runs on streaming only so needs to be connected to the internet. Was unable to get a connection. There was a problem that the staff were unable to fix. Obviously needed a technician. Was given a small refund when I checked out.
