Guest Reviews
- Ky Nam (10/5): Wonderful resort. Loved every single moment. - I loved everything about the property. The traditional houses are phenomenal. They used to be real houses where real Khmer people lived and now beautifully rebuilt and renovated to host tourists. Staying in such authentic property like this is such a one-of-a-kind experience. Can't think of any about the property to complain. But I wish the buffet breakfast had more options, especially Khmer dishes.
- Karine (10/5): - Evything is well tough to make you feel at ease
Rien
- alexbK9317XR (10/5): Relaxing at a 5 star Kampung haven - Arriving to smiling, welcoming faces was just the start to a wonder few days at this magical lodge.
Having lived in Singapore for 25 years, to travel back to nature surrounded 'Kampung' feel living was instantly relaxing...
The villas were clean and well kept, beds super comfortable, with a great pool to cool off in while still soaking in the calmness.
- Cathy (9/5): -
- Edward (10/5): - One of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we have had in years. The staff are so unbelievably helpful, kind and forward thinking.
Food was 12/10.
A must stay in Siem Reap. Nothing whatsoever.
- Ronaldo (10/5): An Exceptional Authentic Cambodia Stay - Everything offered and provided by the Service Team at Sala Lodges met and/or exceeded all expectations. It is an exceptional establishment! Sala Lodges is top tier level in Cambodian authenticity, service, and location for Angkor Wat temple viewing. I liked everything. I feel the only thing I would change is that the pumus stone provided in our bath would be given as a gift exactly like their wonderful rush slippers to use during the stay. I feel that it’s more hygienic after use by one guest.
- Catarina (10/5): Hands down -- the best luxury hotel in Siem Reap. - We stayed here during our honeymoon, and the experience surpassed our expectations on every level.
SERVICE: The service was fantastic. They helped us organize our visit in Siem Reap, provided a fantastic guide, and were always available for any questions we had or help we needed.
ROOM: It was beautiful and spacious, and the decor really brought out the charm of the culture of Siem Reap. They really thought about every amenity guests would not only need but also enjoy.
RESTAURANT: The food was on another level -- we had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks at the restaurant and did not have a single meal that wasn't short of fantastic. The attention to detail, the use of local ingredients..
Gosh! Just thinking about it again is making me tear up! I wish we were back at Sala Lodges right now.. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Can't wait to be back.
- federico (10/5): - Set within a beautifully restored collection of historic houses, the property blends timeless architecture with refined elegance. Every corner tells a story, and the respect for the original character of the buildings is simply remarkable. The use of stunning natural materials, thoughtful design choices, and impeccable attention to detail create an atmosphere that feels both authentic and luxurious.
The cleanliness is flawless, and the care put into every element of the guest experience is evident from the moment you arrive. The family-run management adds a warmth and sincerity that cannot be replicated, you feel genuinely welcomed, not just accommodated.
The beds are exceptionally comfortable, dressed in beautiful, high-quality cotton linens that make for the most restful sleep. Small thoughtful gifts for guests add a personal touch that makes the stay feel even more special.
The garden is a peaceful oasis — perfectly maintained, with a lovely swimming pool ideal for cooling off and relaxing under the sun. It’s the kind of place where time slows down.
Breakfast is outstanding, with fresh, carefully selected products that reflect quality and authenticity. The restaurant deserves special mention: refined local dishes prepared to an exceptionally high standard, combining tradition and creativity in every plate.
What truly sets this place apart is the unique hospitality. The atmosphere, the beauty of the surroundings, and the genuine care from the hosts transform the stay into an experience in itself, so much so that leaving the hotel feels genuinely difficult.
An unforgettable stay. A rare gem. Simply extraordinary!!
Sincerely recommended nothing

- Ghislain (10/5): Top resort ! - Fantastic resort made of charming lodges in the middle of a beautiful garden. Great staff, smiling and efficient. Small part of paradise. Thanks to the Sala Lodges team for this great experience

- 811jinaj (10/5): Sála Lodges - After a long time chodíme a hotel in Siem Reap, I decided Sála Lodges and I couldn ´t have done better. Shortly after booking Our 5 day stay, I received a message from the hotel thinking Me and offering trips, spa menu, etc. Úpon arrival at the hotel, we were welcome by the owner. Accomodation was fantastic, very authentic, the food was a gourmet experience, the garden was such beautiful…. Everything Was Perfect, including the friendly staff. We can highly recommend Sála Lodges.
- Forest-fiend (10/5): A tranquil oasis - A tranquil oasis in the heart of Siem Reap. Beautiful buildings that provide a very comfortable stay while visiting this area of Cambodia. The welcome each time you return from a trip, including complementary ice tea and cold towel was delightful. Poolside was lush and the lunch we ate in the hotel, very high quality and tasty. Breakfast had a wonderful choice. Every member of staff from gardener, cleaner to restaurant were friendly and welcoming. Navy who served us at breakfast was outstanding, remembering our preferences and offering delightfully unobtrusive service. We loved our stay. It’s a straightforward walk of about 15 minutes into the main part of town or a very short tuktuk ride.
- TwoFun (10/5): Gorgeous oasis in the city! - Gorgeous! We loved this place! The grounds were beautiful and intimate. A unique tropical atmosphere within the city. The houses were stunning. But most importantly, the people who work there are lovely and go out of their way to make you feel at home. They made our stay absolutely perfect. We arranged tours through the hotel and our temple tour guide, Dong, was fantastic. So knowledgeable and pleasant! We also did a Tong Le Sap sunset tour arranged by the hotel and that was amazing as well. The breakfasts were fabulous. If I could give this hotel more than five stars, I would! We have recommended this hotel to a few friends who plan to travel to Siem Reap in the future, without reservation. Book it. You won’t regret it!

- MARIE-CAROLINE (10/5): Un véritable enchantement. - Tout.
- jasonbI2623EV (10/5): A Resort Beyond Compare - What an amazing boutique resort. The owner and his Wife could not have been more friendly and helpful and the staff truly is interested in exceeding expectations. Each lodge is a different and unique building and walking into the resort, and especially one's cabin is a true "WOW" moment. If you are visiting Siem Reap I would make staying here a part of your adventure... and book an extra night ! ! Also, they do an excellent job of helping arrange a tour of Angkor Wat.
- Julie (10/5): Outstanding place to stay in Siem Reap if you're not on a tight budget. - Beautiful setting, exceptional service. Our every need was anticipated and tended to. Amazing breakfast with homemade yogurt, lots of fresh fruit, Cambodian dishes, bread, French cheeses, jams and different fresh juices everyday. The staff will make egg dishes, and they have an espresso machine so the coffee is excellent. The grounds and pool are beautifully maintained, inviting, and restful. It was a little away from the center but we like to walk and we're glad to be in a quiet,. peaceful place surrounded by trees and flowers.
- Stephanie (9/5): -
- Virginie (10/5): -
- Eric (10/5): An exeptionnal and outstanding and certainly best Siem Reap discovery - It is a chance to discover such a place. It is exeptionnal by its quality of service and equipment. It is a real palace experience, an exquisite discovery. On top of it, it remains affordable despite its exeptionnal qualities. It is just perfect.
- Jagrut (9/5): -
- Savvytraveller1911 (10/5): Exceptional Boutique Hotel in Siem Reap - we will be back! - We feel so fortunate to have managed to get a booking here and our experience did not disappoint. Everything was amazing! The grounds, the individual houses, the small touches and the kind little gifts. The restaurant serves exceptional food, made with passion. This boutique hotel is run to perfection. The whole team are professional and kind and can’t do enough to ensure you have a wonderful stay. This hands down was the most beautiful hotel we stayed in during our 3 week trip to south east Asia. I would go back to Siem Reap again purely to stay here. Thank you so much for welcoming us and making our stay so memorable!

The breakfast was delicious with a good selection of food. All in all it was a perfect, peaceful and tasteful stay. I couldn't find anything I did not like. The prices at restaurant were a little expensive but given the small scale and the quality, it was understandable.
- Erika (10/5): - Location Gardens And piece in The property
Staff warm And attentive
Food And breakfast were high quality
The atmosphere is magic And The attention to details makes The difference
- Penelope (10/5): Perfect pre Christmas break. - The care that Arne and Simone have put into this project is evident in every detail. They have beautifully and painstakingly reassembled and repurposed original Khmer wooden houses which are a joy and privilege to stay in.
The staff are wonderful, very happy to help with any requests from organising trips, vegetarian food and even wrapping purchases. The restaurant and bar menu and service are excellent.
We had a fantastic pre Christmas break and were lucky to experience perfect weather, highly recommended! Just wonderful. Thank you everyone! Nothing

- Paul (10/5): An amazing place to stay with wonderful staff. - Amazing rooms, converted from wooden village houses, which were spacious and very comfortable. The food was great, the staff wonderful. We were sad to leave! It was a bit noisy one or two evenings, but the ear plugs that were provided solved the problem!
- Mirkofari (10/5): A True Oasis of Peace in Siem Reap - This place is truly exceptional. Sala Lodges is a small oasis of peace, surrounded by lush greenery and an atmosphere of total serenity.
The owner, of Swiss origin, is an absolutely wonderful person: kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — someone who really makes you feel at home.
We stayed in Suite number 10, which is simply fantastic: beautifully designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail reflects care and taste.
All the staff are incredibly kind and always smiling, making the experience even more special.
Without exaggeration, this is one of the most beautiful places we have seen in Cambodia.
Thank you to everyone for such a memorable stay. We are truly grateful.
- Angela (10/5): Peaceful Cambodian stay. Just perfect. - Green and spacious. Super peaceful. Upgraded our room so the kids had their own adjoining room and bathroom rather than sharing with us which was lovely! The pool is beautiful and refreshing after a day touring. Or even in the morning before heading out. The food is incredible
- marynS7750MN (10/5): Excellent! - Highly recommend! I would go back to Siem Reap just to visit the Sala Lodge again. The food, service and rooms were excellent. We loved the breakfast - make sure to try the iced Cambodian coffee and muesli. The happy hour drinks were our favorite in all of Cambodia. Thank you to the entire Sala team for making our stay so wonderful and we hope to return again to see you soon!
- giannantonio (10/5): Tutto incantevole - Praticamente tutto !
- Karen Ann (8/5): - Quality of service Small breakfast
- travelmad2016 (10/5): A heavenly oasis minutes from Siem Reap centre - We stayed at Sala lodges for 5 nights to begin our travels around Cambodia and we were so sad to go. It is a peaceful, sanctury away from siem reap centre but easily walkable or 3 dollars for a Tuk Tuk organised by the hotel. We did some amazing trips to the countryside and Ankor wat which were organised by the hotel, they were costly but fabulous - our guide was brilliant and we even got cold towels and a packed breakfast which was such a wonderful touch!
The rooms were absolutely stunning and huge, amazing bathroom too and spotless. The lovely staff did a turndown service each evening which was so cute - leaving some thoughtful little gifts too.
Breakfast one of the best ever, the highlight was each day they gave a different coloured juice healthy juice, which the menu explains all the benefits of. Delicious eggs, fruit and pastries plus such lovely coffee and I even loved the pottery & design of all the serving plates & bowls etc.
The staff were smiley, kind and went above and beyond - they always remembered who we were and what were up to. I also want to shout out to the wonderful security guard who made us fresh coffees to take to our Ankor wat sunrise tour, it was so kind of him.
We chilled by the pool lots which was mainly empty which surprised us, was a treat to have the area to ourselves and lovely little pool area.
We loved it here and will be back soon I hope thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay and being so kind and helpful!
- Neville (10/5): A lovely boutique hotel, in a great location for the temples and an easy walk into town - This is beautiful boutique hotel , with traditional houses set in lovely tropical gardens. All modern conveniences are available in the houses including a lovely swimming pool. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the cuisine is superb!
- Caroline Laura (10/5): Hospitality at its finest! - Hospitality at its finest! A very warm welcome, incredibly thoughtful staff with great attention to detail, and beautiful traditional houses that serve as rooms, offering a true immersion into the local culture. An unforgettable experience!
- Kolja (10/5): Extremely attentive staff making the experience very unique. - Very traditional and amazing surroundings!
- Grace-Aguiar (10/5): A Peaceful Paradise in Siem Reap – Truly Unforgettable Stay! - From the moment we arrived at Sala Lodges, we were absolutely enchanted. Despite our late evening arrival, several staff members were waiting to greet us with warm smiles, cool towels, and refreshing drinks — such a thoughtful welcome after a long journey.
The property itself is stunning. The individual, traditional Cambodian houses are beautifully designed and surrounded by lush, perfectly maintained gardens. Our room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with an excellent mattress and charming details everywhere — from fresh flowers to the unique handcrafted door keys.
Sala Lodges feels like a true sanctuary. We loved relaxing by the pool and waking up each morning to the sounds of birds and roosters — a peaceful retreat that feels worlds away, yet is just minutes from Siem Reap’s most famous temples.
The staff are exceptional — warm, professional, and genuinely caring. They made us feel completely at home and treated us like family throughout our stay. The restaurant also deserves special praise for its delicious dishes, all beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients.
We can’t thank the Sala Lodges team enough for creating such a memorable experience. Our stay was nothing short of amazing, and we can’t wait to return!
Absolument rien.
- Holger (10/5): Green oasis in the traditional ambience of original local houses - Green oasis in the traditional ambience of original local houses. A very nice Place to relax between or after the tours and temple visits. It has a nice pool for swimming in a beautiful garden. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and had very friendly and courteous staff and landlord.
We rented one house with 3 beds for adults. At the arrival the landlord offered our 17 years old son a separate house free of charge!
Our son enjoyed it a lot and felt like a king of his own castle. Thank you very much!
We enjoyed the time staying there with unforgettable memories!
- Tom (9/5): - Absolutely fantastic place. Worth the extra if you want to treat yourself! Washing was just too expensive, and by the item not kg as its the norm here. The staff very helpfully pointed me to the local launderette almost 1/10 th the price.. Easy walk down the street.
Other premiums.. On food and drink, were more what I would expect and reasonable enough.. Although we also much enjoyed getting out! . Good places just down the street.. This is a very special place
- liam_newc (10/5): Exceptional quality and service from the Sala Lodges Team. An individualised experience, and, Hospitality defined. - The Sala Lodges team embody hospitality and can be role models for 'how to do it' going beyond the fundamentals, and finding and executing the meaningful small touches, whether that be something physical as a gift/treat, or to the personalised service and recognition as individual guests. This isn't achieved by many hotel or hospitality organisations, but Sala Lodges achieve what it means to be hospitable.
We experienced the balance of highly professional, but equally kind, warm and focused service from every team member. No exception.
- Eva (10/5): -
- Nir (9/5): A beautiful Gem in Siem Reap - Very friendly, cosy and spacious rooms. Designed beautifully with local identity and nature intertwined. My only suggestion is to improve your offering to
Guest that enable personalization.
- Tim (10/5): - Everything! It is beautifully laid out. The original Cambodian houses have been modernised and decorated very tastefully. They are very comfortable and spacious. The gardens are beautifully planted and maintained. The pool is fantastic. The Sala Lodge team could not do more to be more flexible and helpful to help their guests make the most of the hotel and the city. Fabulous!
- Karen (10/5): Fantastic experience. Authentic, luxurious and quite unique and special. - Really special place. Quiet, green and calm. Beautiful lodges- spacious, clean and very comfortable. Only short safe 10 walk to centre or rickshaws ready outside if prefer. Staff all lovely and so friendly. Lots of special touches from gifts on bed/ toiletries and free drinks in mini bar. Nothing all good x
- Zuzana (10/5): Doporučujem každému, top ubytovanie a servis v Siem Teap. - Dokonalý servis, vynikajúce jedlo, úžasný personál, jednoducho top. Všetko bolo dokonalé.
- Simon (9/5): A beautiful place to stay in Siem Reap - My son & I visited Sala Lodges in September 2025. The Sala Lodges are relocated traditional Khmer wooden homes which are beautifully situated in a garden setting which includes water features. At night you are surrounded by the sounds of nature which is very atmospheric and relaxing.
The houses really are beautiful and are very tastefully decorated.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We loved having breakfast in the garden and the pool area is beautiful. Nothing not to like.
- Siobhain (10/5): Perfection in Siem Reap - What a slice of paradise! From the moment we arrived we were just so thrilled with our choice. It was as advertised and so much more. Our accommodation was superb, the staff were kind, happy, attentive and keen to ensure we were well taken care of at all times. We loved it and simply can’t recommend it enough Nothing!
- T6738YXsylvieg (10/5): Unique experience - A great moment again at Sala Lodges, everything was perfect as usual. The team is so friendly and professional, the villa is amazing. A big thank you to the wonderful managers Arne and Simone for their warm welcome! We will definitely come back !
- Andrea (10/5): - Un bellissimo albergo.
- nfb2018 (10/5): A gift for body and mind - The accommodations at Sala Lodges are beautifully unique. A visitor will not lack for comfort or amenities in the home of their choice. Being greeted each time I returned from the day's activities with a cool cloth and refreshing drink was just one of the many gracious and accommodating services I experienced. There is no question that Sala Lodges will be my chosen spot in Siem Reap when I return.

- 753marjoriep (10/5): Excellent hotel; stylish and comfortable. - Sala Lodges was everything I had hoped it would be. It is interesting, stylish, comfortable, clean and welcoming. It was not the most expensive of the 7 hotels that we stayed in during our holiday but it was by far the nicest and by far the best value for money. I could not recommend it more highly. Visiting the Siem Reap area was made for us by staying at Sala Lodges.

- Matthias (10/5): A gem - everything! 12 out of 10 stars, if I could....beautiful ambiente, super attentive staff, fantastic food - but then also careful attention to the details/small things, like providing us at 4:45am with two flasks of coffee for our sunrise-trip....and a wonderful birthday cake :-) nothing, other than that we only stayed two nights
- 220annabellef (10/5): Hotel Heaven in Siem Reap - This is without doubt a stunning place to stay in Siem Reap. The understated luxury, top class service, incredible food set in the dreamiest of gardens made leaving Sala Lodges emotional. The food was delicious and well priced. The breakfasts were lovely. The service you receive is outstanding and thoughtful. The lodges were spacious and exquisitely decorated. It felt so luxurious staying in these former homes, beautifully decorated with interesting pieces. We enjoyed our excursions to Angkor Wat organised by the hotel and made use of the hotel’s Tuk Tuk driver who drove us into town just a short hop from the hotel. The hotel location was perfect.
- Gillian (10/5): Unique authentic houses - all different within a lush garden and sublime pool - Unique authentic houses - all different within a lush garden and sublime pool
- Joanna (10/5): It was one of the best hotels I've ever been to. - The traditional khmer houses are furnished with refined taste. The garden around the houses is beautiful. The stuff is very helpful. We had 3 excursions organized by the hotel with the wonderful local guide Mias.
- Xingkai (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet but still relatively near to town, great and thoughtful service
- Valérie (10/5): Fantastic stay in an authentic Khmer house with luxury settings - It was excellent I can only recommend it
- RuthieFrenchie (10/5): A unique place in Siem Reap - What a special place with unique houses to stay in! Everything was thought out so well and the feel was lovely. Great pool and bar set ups. Excellent staff. Manager/owner was present and chatty. A very personalised experience. Breakfast was my favourite of this whole trip! A lovely three nights!
- Amy (10/5): A hidden, peaceful gem! - We absolutely loved the Sala Lodge! Quaint, rustic yet so comfortable and well appointed. Each lodge is so private, quiet, extremely safe and spacious! The gifts upon arrival are so kind as well- welcome drinks, scarves and spices! Even a free mini bar as well. The pool and spa are easy to access and beautiful as well- staff even bring treats and water to guests at the pool. We also relaxed with onsite massages each day with experienced, accommodating staff. Everyone was so pleasant and worked diligently to ensure we had access to transportation, dinner reservations and so on. The breakfast team even quickly whipped up a vegan curry option for me for breakfast as well- which was delicious! Location is within 2 miles from downtown and easy walk to restaurants and markets. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Sala Lodges and if we return to this area- would stay here again without hesitation.

- JeremyS1_10 (10/5): A delightful luxurious hotel. - A really wonderful hotel full of Cambodian tradition and hospitality. It was such a pleasure to stay in an old wooden house. It was incredibly comfortable and luxurious. Great breakfast served overlooking the beautiful gardens and a wonderful swimming pool perfect for cooling off after a day of temple hopping.
- Pioneer11090114329 (10/5): Fabulous peaceful retreat - We loved the hotel . The beautiful grounds , gorgeous rooms on stilts, delicious breakfasts. The salt water pool is divine and the service is friendly and incredibly helpful.
We loved that it was near to town yet away from the hustle and bustle. We loved Siem Reap and this hotel was special.
- 190nickw (10/5): Quirky and absolutely first class. - A welcome change from the normal concrete block hotel backed up by first class service, attention to detail and staff who cannot do enough for you. The traditional village houses have been brought to the site and painstakingly restored and rebuilt with all mod cons included. They are spacious, cool and delightfully quirky. The breakfasts are excellent with specials on offer for lunch and dinner. The grounds and pool offer the perfect end to hot day’s temple touring. And only a five minute tuk tuk ride into town.
- rachelmH5108RY (10/5): Unforgettable luxury and beauty - stay here! - This was hands-down the most beautiful hotel we stayed at during our month-long vacation. Everything you read is true! The "rooms" - real Cambodian traditional houses brought here for a modern reincarnation - are spectacular. Enormous, plenty of room for unpacking, great shower, thoughtful touches like daily goodies gifted on top of the bed, great reading lights, and turndown service that turns your mosquito netted king-sized bed into some kind of fantastical magic carpet-looking vehicle. Breakfast was lavish and delicious. We had dinner at the hotel one evening and enjoyed that. The pool was beautiful, but really, the weather warms the water to such a degree that it was not entirely refreshing (a universal challenge in Cambodia). If it hadn't been so hot we would have enjoyed the inviting-looking outdoor bar/lounge (others did). The room has two air conditioners which gets the temp to comfortable. We arranged for the hotel picked us up from the airport and also two days of guided tours at Angkor Wat - and the guide was superb. (We were glad for the air-conditioned vehicle rather than the tuk-tuk but perhaps we are especially heat sensitive?!) Staff couldn't have been more helpful - booking dinners and an excellent circus show for us, driving us into town in the property's tuk-tuk. In short, if you can swing it, stay here! You will remember it for the rest of your life!
- Quan (10/5): It is an amazing place to stay at Siem Reap. The house is so beautiful and I can experience Khmer culture from many aspe - The service is excellent. The food is amazing. The house is unique.

- Pilots4812 (10/5): A real gem - Shortly to leave Sala Lodges for the next leg of our south east Asia tour. What an absolute pleasure it’s been to stay in this oasis yet so close to the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap. The lodges are very well appointed with efficient air cond. the beds are spacious and comfy. The staff were all so friendly and really can’t be faulted. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We also enjoyed an evening meal with the food being perfect. All in all a memorable stay for all the right reasons. We’ll certainly be back but just be prepared for a bit of travelling to get here as Siem Reap doesn’t appear to have long haul flights from Europe. We flew via Bangkok which was absolutely fine.
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional and unique experience with fabulous staff & delicious food! - The property is truely exceptional! Each traditional timber home is unique & they sit beautifully together on the property. The quality of furnishings inside the timber homes, is to a very high standard. The garden is peaceful & tranquil and beautifully maintained. There was a thoughtful gift for us, which was a delightful surprise. We had dinner on our private deck one night which was magical. The team helped arrange our tours to the temples & travel around Siem Reap, which was to the highest standards. The food is delicious & the staff are fabulous. A most memorable stay. Highly recommended!

- Uma (10/5): I would return to Sala Lodges. - The property was pheonomonal and very comfortable! A unique piece of paradise in the middle of Siem Reap! The grounds were impeccable, lush and absolutely beautiful! The staff was always smiling, warm, welcoming, greeted us by our first names and were always available for service. The breakfast was outstanding as well as the selections. I would stay here again on my next visit and recommend to my family and friends. The massage room was a bit loud with someone walking on the 2nd level otherwise everything was perfect.
