Guest Reviews
- Alma (8/5): - Its a very nice hotel its in a great location its old put very cute
Me encantó
Bien ubicado limpieza buena
- 163ronaldl (8/5): Clean and Good Location - Hotel Casa Sangre de Cristo. Nice size room on rooftop (third floor). Comfortable bedding and bed. Could have used some heat with morning temps in low 40’s F. Super large bathroom with modern amenities including a jetted tub. Unfortunately, there was a strong odor of sewer gas coming up through a floor vent. Shower took forever to get hot and then it was difficult to get it cool enough to stand under. Too many steps, half without handrails, for older guests. Can never understand why older persons are made to suffer inconvenience when lower rooms were available.
Within walking distance a several nice eating places. Desk lamp did not work. Had to do my notes on a small table next to the bed. Not at all comfortable or convenient. No in-room safe.
- Foodies2010 (2/5): Checked in, checked out, no refund - We booked 2 rooms based on reviews and photos on a booking site as well as the central location. Since our rooms were not ready we left our bags and visited Diego Rivera's house and the Mummy Museum. Upon returning we found we had been assigned to rooms that were inaccessible to the 2 older travellers due to the condition of the stairs . Reaching the other room required going up and then going down a circular staircase--also challenging at best. The rooms were tiny; one had barely enough room to walk around the bed and had no window. We are not overly fussy and have stayed in our share of 3 star hotels with stairs and lacking amenities but this was in a class all its own for difficulty of access. When management was informed that one of the group would not be able to get to the room because of mobility and safety concerns and asked for a refund we were refused on the basis that the rooms were rented through a booking site (although we paid be credit card upon arrival). Since out Spanish is limited and the desk person spoke no English we could not get our points across. In the end we paid for 2 rooms we only used as very expensive luggage storage. The location is good but don't go here unless you are young and agile.
- Oscar (2/5): - As I arrived I was told to wait for twenty minutes for a person to walk me over to a new hotel since the room I had booked was already taken. The bellboy walked me to Hosteria del Frayle, a hotel 10 minutes away, which is in a zone of very high noise, especially because I was there at the time of the festivities. I asked if I could get my original room but they declined so I took a smaller room at Sangre de Cristo but I requested that at least I was refunded the difference in price, which they said they’ll consult with the manager.
The whole conversation happened in a very condescending way. At some point the manager told me to just look for another hotel, knowing very well all the hotels in the city were fully booked because of the festivities.
Needless to say I never received a refund for anything and the room was in bad conditions, I had a terrible time at that hotel and was treated very poorly, but then again, maybe is just my luck. Look at the pictures, judge for yourself.
- Martin (2/5): - Don’t accept room 5! We stayed here for two nights. It was really bad. The room was way to small and it did not have window. There was also a awful smell in the room. The smell in the bathroom was even more worse. It was also very very noisy. Perhaps this came because of the hole in the front door.
Maybe this hotel isn’t expensive, but you expect a kind of standard..
Well, the location is good... but for the same money I’m sure you can get better in Guanajuato.
The pictures showed on the bookingsites doens’t compare with our room. So that makes it a big dissapointment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Central to all activities!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - exclelente!!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel has all what you need, for your stay.
Now if you are looking for luxury hotel this not for you, but personally I liked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excelente lugar - Excelente ubicación y servicio
- FERNANDO (4/5): HOTEL VIEJO Y MAL OLIENTE, FALTA DE MANTENIMIENTO - ES UN HOTEL MUY VIEJO, LO UNICO QUE LO RESCATA ES LA UBICACION QUE TIENE, PUES CAMINANDO HACIA EL CENTRO HISTORICO Y CALLEJONES DE GUANAJUATO ES DE 10 A 15 MINUTOS.
DESAFORTUNADAMENTE ES UN HOTEL LLENO DE RUIDO POR LAS CALLES, VIEJO, MAL OLIENTE A HUMEDAD EN EL AMBIENTE, LOS BAÑOS LES FALTA MUCHO MANTENIMIENTO, ASI COMO REPARAR FUGAS DE AGUA, Y FUMIGAR POR TANTO MOSCO QUE HAY.
LA ATENCION DA MUCHO QUE DESEAR, PUES NO TIENEN NI IDEA DE ATENDER A TURISMO, ASI COMO PROPORCIONAR VENTILADORES POR EL CALOR QUE EXISTE EN LAS HABITACIONES (NINGUNA CUENTA CON VENTILADOR O AIRE ACONDICIONADO).
UNO SE VA CON LA IDE ADE BUEN HOTEL POR LAS FOTOS QUE PRESENTA EN LA PAGINA DE HOTELES.COM, PERO NO ES LO QUE APARENTA.
NO CUENTA CON ESTACIONAMIENTO Y ES UN PROBLEMA BUSCAR SEGURIDAD PARA TU VEHICULO.
MALA ELECCION.
- Burgess (8/5): Close to the action - Close to the action. Lots of stairs so you need to be fit
- Pau (2/5): - Muy sucio, toallas sucias y viejas.
Baños incompletos sin tarjas
Televisión sin cable ni señal
- Ax (2/5): Mala experiencia excesivo costo!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - El baño no servia bien y casi no salia agua
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never going back - Money was stolen from my room ( not much) My suitcase and bags were opened and searched. The action and having the trust broken made me so uncomfortable that I cancelled the rest of my stay.
- Claudia (2/5): Non professional, creepy - Arrived, filled out paperwork. Did not like the room on 3rd level, no parking, no help. 2 hrs later my personal info still on top of front desk. We checked out immediately. Did not refund at least partially
- juan (4/5): Do not accept room 111 (the tomb) - Stay was mediocre since there was no one to discuss the tomb of a room that was given to us. The second was the fact that one of our rooms was not cleaned. No apologies or manager to talk to. The desk person was not helpful at all.
- Arcticzebra (2/5): Awful - Stay away!!! It's a big rip off. It's expensive, outdated, run down, and noisy. We stayed for one night and got no rest with all the noise on the street. When we arrived the receptionist directed us toward our room which was on the roof top but to our surprise had to be reached by an unsafe spiral staircase with a loose bannister and loose tiles. Getting the luggage up there was something else. Needless to say, no employee to help you with this ordeal. Beware ,,,,STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP.
- MarthaVas (8/5): Clean and close to everything - We decided to go to the Cervantino the last weekend on the very last minute and was the only hotel we found for just one night.
I have to say I expected it to be a dirty, awful place for the price (around $50USD) Surprisingly it was a big bedroom, extra clean, with a big bathroom, cable TV, free Wifi and the best, it is just a couple of streets away from the main garden (Jardín Union) and Juárez Thatre. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but you do not need anything else, you have everything you need walking distance.
It is not a luxury place but enough and CLEAN to take a good rest and to walk Guanajuato that its a beautiful city.
