Guest Reviews
- Glen (8/5): - The property was nice but starting to show its age and usage.
- Hilbert (2/5): Would not recommend! - The accommodation was really not what we expected. Our bungalow (nr. 3) was falling apart. Doors and drawers that could not open anymore, stains on the carpets, broken door… we would not recommend this place, not even for a quick stopover on route.
- Frances (8/5): - Loved watching the giraffes! Very clean! Nice breakfast!
- Rosemary (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very quite, safe and easily accessible
- Rosemary (10/5): - Absolutely amazing to stay here. Friendly staff, great cottage, very quiet. Close to N1
- Massador (8/5): Fairly pleasant stay - Very comfortable stay. Quality bed ensured good night's rest. Lovely hot water all the time.
Kitchen not up to standard, lacking items like no spoons and no drying cloth.
Crockery found in the cupboard was greasy and dirty upon arrival. Had to wash before able to use.
Towels sub-standard quality.
Property is well maintained and with a little more attention to the units, it could be a really nice resort!
- David (8/5): - great Staff. Quick to respond. Problems.... our toilet tank leaked... one exterior door wouldn't stay shut. when it rains, a mud puddle appears right at the front doorstep.
Still happy in general.
- jophen (10/5): - Very nice place to stay, calm and peaceful. The animals have been enclosed in a distance so they are not easily visible.
- Mari (6/5): - We booked a cabin with a kitchenette. The photograph on the site does not depict the cabin we had at all. There was no cutlery or crockery in the cabin. We had a microwave, fridge and a kettle. We had to request plates, knives and forkes. Felt I paid for something I did not receive. We wanted self catering, how can we self cater with nothing to cater with? Could not have breakfast as there was nothing. Booking was for a honeymoon suite, and I am sure it was not what we received. We slept well, and everything else was good. Fresh milk would have made a huge diffrence, please take into consideration that ALL guests use powder milk replacements.
- Eugene (4/5): A let down - The place is advertised as self catering, but does not have plates, knives or forks. It wouldn't matter anyway, since there isn't a basin in the kitchen anyway.
While the cabin was serviced daily and appeared relatively clean, the sleeper looked like it was in a mechanic's workshop and had many greasy overalls sit on it.
- Candice (8/5): Conveniently located contractors cabin - The resort is conveniently located. The cabins are nice looking. The cabin was fairly dark and the self catering kitchen facilities lacking.
The shower floor creaks, I imagine the sand support isn’t adequately packed under the shower. The main room has only one bedside lamp. There are no bedside carpets and the rooms feel somewhat bare.
The peacocks are plentiful and beautiful but to be aware that they are very noisy at night time.
The resort gives you a feeling of being focused on passing and contractor type trade, not a bush cabin holiday resort. The name then somewhat deceiving as you wouldn’t expect to view the main highway from your cabin patio.
It’s a fit for purpose of passing trade type of accommodation spot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Generally excellent 9/10 - The staff were wonderful, the rooms clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent facilities. Excellent price. The only slight negative was that I paid extra for the breakfast and the quality wasn’t great.
- leon (8/5): - Quiet place just off highway, breakfast was fresh and coffee worth the effort.
- MR DAVID (8/5): Something really different - It’s difficult to rate this stay because it’s on half a game lodge. The rooms are self catering cabins that overlook a section of enclosed bush next to a busy and at times noisy main road. In this fenced off area are mainly cattle but also a few other things like Sprengbok, an Ostrich, a lama and a crocodile in an enclosed pen near reception.
It’s a nice place and there is a supermarket down the road or restaurants. There is also a BBQ area on the little rear porch if you have the charcoal etc. Breakfast and dinner is available if you prebook.
This is certainly not your average self catering accommodation and it was really nice. Just don’t expect any of the big five to wander past your window!
- Zelda (10/5): A llama welcome - The lodge is good, but the walls are paper thin. I could hear everything said in the room next to mine ... and the snoring was louder than mine :)
Other than that it was a wonderful experience. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff very helpful. A llama welcomed me at reception, and the place offers a perfect, tranquil environment to recharge before you continue on your journey.
- Paul (2/5): Check your system before embarass your customer - The manager does nt take black people seriously i was refused fr breakfast saying i didnt pay yet it was included in my payment she did even apologize
- David (10/5): Brilliant - I was welcomed in a friendly fashion, even though the confirmation of my booking from hotels.com had not arrived. I offered to pay with my Mastercard and they asked me to stay and sort everything in the morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quick Overnight stop over - Had a really nice evening in the newly built chalets. You can see effort has been put in to build new units and they are clean and nice, with nice little braai facilities. Rooms are small but enough for what is needed. We loved looking out and seeing the wildlife roaming around. My daughter even tried to make friends with a Giraffe :) Staff are really friendly and the breakfast was quick and tasty.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Place in Bloemfontain - Stayed just one night, on my way to Johannesburg, in a very clean and confortable chalet for my family of 4.
- Lovemore (10/5): lovemore sithole - one night . i wish if i could extend . great breakfast and warm welcome by the staff.
superb scenery . wild animals . gives me a sense of holiday
