Guest Reviews
- Marten (2/5): - The most horrible hotel i ha e ever visited in the world. I was shown two room, cigarett burns on curtains, floor lose, doors not closing, very dirty. I left and booked another hotel.
- Heather (6/5): - At best it was a roof over my head while in town for a concert. I didn't spend much time in the room but the bed was comfortable. There was no hot water to take a shower before leaving for a long drive home the next morning.
- Chia-Yang (4/5): - Hot water is not consistent. Two out of Six nights had not hot water during my stay. Door locked and I have to go to office to reactivate my door key every night I went back and one night the office was empty no body was there. I have to wait 10min. In addition, the first night I arrived , Officer asked me to pay cash because the credit card machine was not working. It was terribly inconvenient.
- Jodi (2/5): - The room smelled like dogs, the shower was dirty, the toilet didn’t flush properly and there was no remote control for the tv. Expedia shouldn’t show the Park Inn rendering on your website because no renovation has been done and it’s misleading.
- Jeff (2/5): Brutal - I’ve been in. over crack houses.
- Britta G (4/5): - The place was dirty & unkept inside & outside.
I was glad I had a male with me as I didn’t feel safe due to the people hanging out in the parking lot.
- David (2/5): - If I could attach the photos we took of this place, no one would stay there. My son his wife and I all passed on staying it was so awful. If you don't mind exposed wiring on light switches, no cover on the cold air return exposing dirt, holes kicked and punched into the bathroom door, stains in the bathtub, an adjacent room closed by what appears to be the health department with a large piece of plywood over the window, then you’ll love this place.
- David (2/5): - I've never seen such a terrible hotel. It's dirty and unsafe. Please remove this hotel from your company's website.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tale of two cities. - During the day the manager on duty was excellent. He was forced to deal with the homelessness around the property which he did superbly. Unfortunately he was not there for check in or the second evening of my stay and the staff during that period were horrendous, disinterested and impolite. The homeless and drug scene so well countered during the managers time quickly enveloped the property. The staff were indifferent to the problem, Location was near city center and room was clean and comfortable for sleeping. Outside was a bit scary. Some of the guests were part of the problem unfortunately.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I never write bad reviews but this place was terrible everything was broken and unsafe nothing like the photos, save yourself the hustle and book a different hotel. I would never stay there ever again!
- Johnathan (2/5): - I did not receive a receipt for my credit card transaction and when I asked for the wifi password they were more rude …. I feel that it is not smart to have front desk employees who do not speak English…
- Gedie (2/5): - Motel 6
- Seth (4/5): disgusting hotel; not worth the "low" rate - I was expecting a low budget hotel and I've stayed in plenty of Motel 6s before, but this place is a flaming dumpster fire. Garbage strewn all throughout the parking lot, a room that hadn't been updated since 1970 and felt like it used to be a prison cell. This isn't a budget hotel, it's skid row. Do not stay at this dump.
- Polly (2/5): - This was a really terrible way to experience Salt Lake City. The motel was very dirty. There is no way I was going to subject myself and my two children to this. There are not enough bad words to describe how unsafe I felt.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dysfunctional key, bad shower, leaky pipe under shower, dated room.
- Paris (2/5): - I have low standards for Motel 6, but this was the first time I felt genuinely unsafe and uncomfortable. (The front staff was very nice. No hate towards them)The room was a bit dirty but I've been through worse. We ended up going to a different hotel after the first night because there were people up all night and when I left to get coffee around 7AM I was stalked by a man who was hanging around near our room. I didn't really want to assume that was what was going on at first, but after a while I noticed he'd put on a mask and pulled something else out of his bag and kept hiding behind walls and trees as I was walking. I hid in the cafe until my partner picked me up. I kept looking over my shoulder the rest of the stay in SLC. There was also a ton of trash left around my truck in the morning. Still not even sure if my payment went through since I was supposed to pay at the property but I really want a refund for how scary that experience was.
- Ruben (2/5): - System down
- dexter (2/5): Terrible. - Booked weeks in advance only for them to tell me at the time of check in that their system was down and they couldn’t check us in. Got authorization to cancel with no penalty. Hotels.com team said when they reached out, the property Refused to let me cancel without penalty even though it was their fault i couldn’t check in. will never book here again and the hotels.com team was terrible in this.
- eric (2/5): - not anywhere close to motel 6 standards. mold smell and water damage in one room. same in second room. asked for money back
- KaSara Marie (2/5): - We could only stay one night. The place smelled horrible and it rubbed off on us. There was cigarette burns in the comforter and the door wouldn’t close all the way. The area was crowded with people just wandering up and down the wall way all times of the night.
- Cortland (4/5): - Cheapest hotel room in the area, but the room was in poor condition, broken lock, worn floor, room smelled a little stale. For the price I could live with those items, but the shower was tepid, no hot water. Won't be returning.
- Ryon (4/5): - The room smelled of smoke, and the floor and shower were dirty. While the beds were clean, they had only the basic sheets covering them and they were torn and stained.
- Robert (6/5): - Sketchy side of town.
- Komasquin (10/5): - The afternoon counter girl was very helpful and hard working if the rest of the staff is like her I will be staying there more often
- Christina (4/5): - After we checked in there were police questioning people. The hotel seemed like it’s in a shady neighborhood. We didn’t feel safe. There was a puddle in the bathroom when we walked in and we noticed the toilet leaked.
- Ashley (2/5): - I didn’t stay in this hotel room. Left within 5 minutes. It has a hole in the door leading to the other room next to us. Hun on baseboard of the bed. Leaves and dirty on the ground. Burnt out heater/a.c unit. Door didn’t fit so a ton of air came inside at all times. And it wreaked of Tobacco. The guy who took my key back lied and didn’t put in our notes as to why we left. So I never got my return back even though we didn’t stay in it and left for uncleanliness reason. I have two young daughters and this was not a safe place for them to sleep.
- Elena (10/5): - Staff was very helpful.
- Kylee (2/5): - I was moved to 5 different rooms they were all inadequate with issues from no hot water no smoke detectors no heater door locks not engaging bathroom door off the hinges and unclean. Staff was friendly and plesent!
- Chrissandra (6/5): - Sort of cold. Draft coming in by the door.
- Patrick (2/5): DISGUSTING SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN - ILL JUST SAY THIS AS MY TITLE INDICATED.
THIS PLACE IS ONLY A HOMELESS SHELTER WITH THE MOTEL 6 NAME COVERING IT.
- Tylee (2/5): - I submitted a review and a request for refund for this visit. We stayed all of ten minutes before leaving for another hotel and deciding this one was neither safe or sanitary to stay in. The room was in total disrepair with broken lamps, wall fixtures, and taped up fire alarm. The bed was soiled and stained. The staff was unhelpful and not willing to assist us with a refund or customer service when we came back downstairs. We left to a hotel next door to stay the night instead. I would like a refund for this visit as the room was not as advertised and was not safe to sleep in.
- Coby (2/5): - We couldn't even stay here for an hour before leaving. The door wouldn't close all the way, the outlets didn't work, the room smelled like cigarettes, and the heat didn't work. He wouldn't refund the amount despite telling us he would. Expedia then told us that he was refusing. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Stay away.
- Gustavo (2/5): - This was hands down the worst stablishment i tried to stay at. I checked in and the sheets had cigarrete burns plural. The floors were nasty and if the cigarette burns weren't enough the sheets also had different colored stains. Police activity since arriving. Homeless people outside. My uber that took me there offered me his home because he couldn't let anyone come near this place. Really crazy really disappointing given that slc is such a nice and clean city. Didn't even stay the night just straight went to get another hotel after i saw the condition of my room. The ghetto in slc blends really well with nicer areas which is why i felt this wouldnt be so bad but goddam i have never been so wrong
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was horrible because the room is so old and lacking maintenance! The floor is peeling and ugly. Bed sheets and towels are old and not looking good. Many people are walking and loitering outside within the compound in the middle of the night. I was feeling unsafe when going out to my vehicle.
- Sue (4/5): Room conditions were bad. - The floor tile is coming apart at all the seams. The carpet tile at the door is filthy. I wouldn't put my socks or bare feet on the floor. Downtown has the downtown noises: sirens, loud racing cars. People either above me or beside me, were arguing and cussing, off & on most of the night. I left earlier in the morning than I had intended to. The refrigerator worked well and I was thankful for that. Otherwise, there were absolutely no amenities in the room. I never tried the tv. I won't ever be staying there again.
- Nikita (2/5): - Room is dirty, fridge not wiped, surfaces like table not clean, looks like poop splatter on the bathroom wall next to toilet. Front desk moved us to a room upstairs just to find the same nasty brown splatter all over the floors! I have 2 kids with me a 2 year old and 6 year old this hotel is disgusting to say the least
- Verified traveler (4/5): Sketchy, outdated and smelly - Check-in was friendly, fast and easy; however, when I went to the room, it was clearly not cleaned. The beds were undone, lights were on and there were towels on the floor. I honestly thought there was someone still in there so I quickly closed the door and walked back to the front desk and was assigned another room. I booked a smoke-free room and the 2nd room smelt like a cigarette. I took some family with me and we've had trouble getting the cigarette smell out of our belongings. We had somewhere we needed to be so did not have enough time to walk back to the front desk to change rooms again... I can definitely take the outdatedness of the room but the smell was just unbearable. Although the security guard did his job well, there was a lot of homeless people surrounding the vicinity. Definitely not staying here again.
- Robert (4/5): - The staff was very helpful, but this motel is in a very rough area and is worse for wear. As I was checking in, someone was telling the desk that there was a stranger rummaging through their room. Other questionable activity on the street outside.
- Amber (4/5): - It was in a great location but the security guard did harass us over and over again even after we asked him to stop
- Waddell (2/5): Welcome to the siege - My past stays at this particular motel6 have been very favorable although this trip was totally different the whole place seems like a lock down situation fruwnds and family interegated just to come in to visit me while in town .the cleaning staff was good even thelower management were admirable in theyre job upper staff not so friendly
- Pandas (10/5): - I liked my view mybriikm ttyuyghtvsfydecrgevt98i
- Ermek (2/5): - Horrible place its always noisy and you have a lot drunk, shady, homeless people hanging around the premises of motel. Staff are ok but I think they should really vacum the rooms as you I have found finger nails on the floor of the room and in the bathrooms and its just digusting. Expedia you guys should really vet this kind of places as because of this type properties your reputation is on the line too and in short i would just say I was very disappointed with the my stay and it was really not worth the money.
- Erika (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Janna (4/5): - lots of homeless people on property, made me feel uncomfortable going to room.
- Shannon (2/5): - The area is not a great area to stay in. There’s questionable people walking all around the hotel area and cops are frequent there. On top of that the hotel is very low quality and at one point in the night the hotel door was opened while we were sleeping. Ended up checking out after first night. Do not recommend.
- Katrina (2/5): Cheap but sketchy - When i went to check in i was told by the front desk lady that my booking had been cancelled. Will be calling to get a refund as i was never notified of the cancelation. Luckily a friend who also booked a room at this motel theough their website had a spare bed to use. Once we got to the room we noticed cigarette burns on the covers and there was no soap in the bathroom.
- jamie (4/5): - I enjoyed what sleep trying to get but playing loud music and constantly up/down the stairs.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Nice workers but location not the best - The people at the front desk were kind but may not have had the resources to provide for the guests. There were no toiletries and even though the room was non-smoking, there was a smell as if someone had smoked there before. Me and my guests chest were hurting when we woke up and we think it's because of the odor of the smoke.
- Bohdan (4/5): - Some homeless tried to get into our room, also the room was dirty, the key we got worked on like the 30th time we tried to use it, and there was no soap or something whatsoever.
- Renbiao (2/5): - The area is unsafe and terrible, the room is very old and dirty, no microwave,no refrigerator, no bath supplies, the towel looks like not whites, the room key can’t open the door and can’t fix。I don't know what could be worse
- JoAnn (2/5): - We actually did not stay here. Felt very unsafe. Wrecked cars in parking lot on blocks. Homeless and druggies hanging around our door. Was very scary. They said they were refunding our money and I have receipt stating such. We picked this sight as close to our tour. But honestly I would not have felt safe leaving luggage in room or returning after dark.
- Boniface (2/5): - I requested a non-smoking room but I got a room smelt all cigarette all over. I had to double up on my allergy medication in the attempt to avoid being sick all to no avail. I had to check out after I couldn't take it any more because my respiratory track was already clogged up. The attendant denied my request for a refund even though I stayed there less than four hours.
- Nikkolas (2/5): - Absolutely horrible. Check-in was at 3 Pm and when we arrived at 3 PM who is ever working kept saying oh we’re doing a shift change so we need everyone to go out of the office and soul about eight people were just standing outside in the heat for over 40 minutes well two of the workers were just talking back-and-forth into the office and their only response was shift change
- Diana (8/5): - Good
- nathan (2/5): - Why the hell Expedia would put this property on their website is beyond me. The room was filthy. It was supposedly a non-smoking room. But I guarantee you people have been smoking on it. 20 minutes before we came. It smelled like a sewer. There were prostitutes hanging out at the driveway. Security would run one off. Then another one would take her place. Homeless people surrounded the facility. The bedspread had yellow stains I assume coming from a prostitute on the bed. The top sheet was actually the sheet that was supposed to be under the blanket. The door to our room would not lock. Some guy with no shirt came and knocked on our door. When I open the door, he said oh wrong room. I watched him as he went down and knock on the next two doors as well. We did not stay in the room. the clerk was very helpful in letting us check out and getting us a refund. I probably won’t use Expedia again. This is bull crap.
- Alma (4/5): - Don’t
r stay here
- Alexandria (6/5): - We did enjoy our stay, but there were a lot of people walking around and people upstairs where we were staying we talking vety loud and all though out the night.
- Jay (2/5): - Disgusting & disgraceful place! Shame on the owner's & managers. The place is strewn with crack addicts, homeless people passed out on the property and all over the place...no security. Lies on their website...shows a nice pool, hasn't been open in months. Says daily housekeeping...I was there till 10:30 am, no knock on the door, came back at 4:30, never cleaned. Asked for an extra pillow...said no! Says luggage storage, does not exist. Says coffee maker in the rooms, not there. Non-smoking room, yet cigarette burns on the sheets. Room was stained, dirty, no smoke alarms. Shall I go on?! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
- Michael (2/5): This place has really went downhill... - Upon arrival, I was told that they didn't have the single bed room that I had booked and paid for. The clerk was trying to force me to pay an additional $15 for a two bed room. I would not agree to that. He kept telling me it was the upcharge or he would cancel my stay. I should have chose the latter option.
Finally, he gave me the option to wait while they "cleaned" a room for me...
When I got into the room, I noticed the was no towels or toilet tissue. I went to the clerk and he had me follow him to an empty single bed room. He gave me the towels and toilet paper from that room...
The room didn't appear to have been fully cleaned. The bedding had stains and the floors felt sticky. The mattress could really use replacing...
I have stayed in this motel several times, over the last 5 years, this was by far the worst experience I have had.
- Louidner (2/5): - After I make my reservation online and paid for everything, Upon checking they force me to pay an extra $10 because they don't have one bedroom room available.
I ain’t going to review it or I’ll post it on Google.
- Logan (4/5): - We stayed for a week. At check in the worker had us check the room while he held my ID. This tells me they have issues with rooms not being satisfactory. The sheets were stained, so we got a different room which had no soap. The smoke detector in the room next door had a low battery and beeped so we told the worker. He was alone on shift and couldn’t change it. We repeatedly told different workers about this and the battery was never changed so we had to sleep with annoying beeping. Every night we came back, our cards didn’t work and we had to go to the office and get them deactivated. Every night there was fighting, and three nights out of five police showed up. The floors and furniture were beat up, sheets were stained, and half of our pillows had no covers. Overall veeery disappointed in the way this hotel is run. There should be more than one worker at a time so that one of them can take care of customers while the other handles the desk. These workers are stretched thin and it shows. Management needs to step up and fix things.
- Ralph (2/5): - Property. was in terrible condition. Homeless people around the property, room was dirty, another couple did the same thing we did & went to anothet Motrl 6. I hope I am not charged for the first property.
- Nichole (2/5): - The man at the front desk gave us a room key to check the room before we fully checked in, which was greatly appreciated! We were booked an upstairs room and our path was blocked on 3 staircases by folks that seemed to be very high on drugs and yelling at us as we walked by. The exterior of the hotel was dirty and not well kept, and so we decided not to even look at the room because we knew we would not feel safe to stay there. Went back to the front desk and were told they don’t offer refunds, so we decided to take the loss on the $90 we paid and go somewhere else.
- Thomas (2/5): - What I didn't like was pulling in to the parking lot looking at homeless people and drug dealing right in front of me and my wife. And a nother thing we didn't get the room that we wanted we ask for double bed and a bath tub in stead we was given a dirty shower we paid $106 dollars plus tax. This time staying at motel 6 was terrible and Plus when I was in the office there was a guy in front of me when I was in the office they charge him $91 dollars and charge me 98 dollars plus tax that's not fair.
- juan (2/5): - The hotel is scary. There were lots of homeless looking people all around and at the hotel. There are people sitting on the stairways and in walkways who don't look like they have rooms there. I will never stay there again and I warn others not to risk there health and safety by staying at this motel 6. Must be the worst hotel in the city. I paid almost 100.00 for one night which I would not stay there again if they paid me . Burn this place to the ground.
- Lorenzo (2/5): - Left my experience on google review. Overran with druggies (some knocking on my door?) door didn’t even close properly, zero toilet paper, front desk was incredibly rude, roaches.. I see why this place is a meme not to go there. If you were wise, you wouldn’t even feature this on your website
- Verified traveler (2/5): Supercross - Blood on walls and ceiling. Stained sheets and hair in the bed. Nothing worked. No toilet paper or soap. Homeless and crackheads everywhere yelling and running around. Rooms stink like cigarettes and people smoking meth. If you want a cheap place for the night this is it but bring a gun cause it don’t feel safe. Glad we brought ours.
- Verified traveler (2/5): not safe - We checked-in and checked out 30 minutes later. Addicts camping out in hallways, blocking our way to the room and lurking in corners. We got approached 3 times just walking up to the room. Couldn’t see returning to the room in the dark, when there were so many problems already in broad daylight. Staff and management does not care.
- Cory (2/5): - Sketchy
- john (4/5): - This one of the worst motel 6 i have ever stayed in
- Ian (6/5): - Property was central and convenient. Staff were nice, but there was no daily housekeeping which was disappointing.
- Michelle (10/5): - It's far better off than some Motel 6's. This one is in a very age and friendly area. We get t.v., wifi, microwave, and fridge. Well maintained and often great prices.
- Paul (2/5): - Didn't like anything. It's the worst motel experience in Salt Lake City.
- David (2/5): Terrible - Noisy, dump
- Benjamin (4/5): - One night necessary last resort stay and that’s all. There is no such thing as a non smoking room here and I had 2 bars of thumb size soap. Entrance was incredibly hard to find and have lived in area before. When I did I was approached by somebody tweaked out of there mind…Front desk was very kind though. Last thing is when you close the door to your room, the fact it says to double lock your chained and bolt lock says everything. Only pro is its downtown* Only used to shower, sleep, and I think you know the last one.
- Michael (8/5): - One pf the lights was missing a bulb. Ot would be useful there was a card or printout in how to control the tv. It took a while of experimentation to master it.
- Saila (8/5): - I love it
- Manoel (4/5): Housecleaning - Bedroom was not clean
- Omar (2/5): - One of the worst experiences ice had staying at this location over the years. The cleanliness qas aweful, dirty walls, pillows that smell like heaf sweat, the room wreaked of cigarettes and urine. Extremly shady people on the property doing illegal things. An extreme unsafe environment for a family with small children. No security onsite. Flashing parking lot light. Not a place I could shower due the cleanliness of the room. This motel might as well be a crack house. Do not stay here if you have any dignity. Police knocking on doors looking for a criminals.
- Kody (8/5): Like a worm in pair of boots. - Floor.was filthy, black splatter all over the flooring, like someone's pulled coffee or a soda and didn't bother to clean it up properly.
Once I got that cleaned up, got the AC going well, managed to get everything dialed in about how you'd expect, not fancy by anymeans, but comfortable, like a broken in pair of boots... Similar scent too now I think about it...
- Verified traveler (2/5): Mold - Mold, unsafe to stay here. Stains on the walls and showers. Floors were sticky. Big dent on bathroom door. Not recommended.
- steven (8/5): - We were just passing through. Found the staff to be courteous, property was well lit, lots of convenient parking, safe area. Room was clean & well-kept w/ some minor signs of wear. Great value if just passing through.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Reservation.lost - Took an hour to check in!!! They didn't have the info from hotels com
- Maria (2/5): - Terrible!
- PEDRO HENRIQUE (6/5): - People super loud at night making it extremely difficult to sleep. Also, a mold smell at room 101.
- Tyarra (2/5): You get what you pay for - Site Manager has very poor customer service. I had a problem with my booking and he basically threw all of the blame on me. Wasn't very accommodating. Even whe he actually took the time to try fix the solution. He's on his phone watching YouTube videos the his shoes off... you seriously get what you pay for here. Cheap price. Cheap service. This was the worst booking experience in my life. I had an anxiety attack dealing with it. Much can be said about what I went through here. But I don't want to relive that moment.
- Benjamin (10/5): Amazing - I love this place for real.
- David Adam (10/5): - Good spot
- Eric (6/5): - Goid location although some not ao nice homeless people around the hotel cluster (not specifically motel 6 though). Pool not open nor in working order
- Verified traveler (6/5): - First time going to SLC and I guess I didn’t realize I was in a sketchy part of town. Thankfully I was only there for one night so it wasn’t too bad. I’m glad I had my dogs with me otherwise I would not have felt comfortable staying the night. They did have security doing patrols but still. I will not be returning to this motel 6. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful!
- Jan-Bernd (8/5): Great location near Free Fare Zone of downtown SLC - Friendly and helpful staff, good security service; room (double queen bed) rather small; rats in the yard.
- Aimee (6/5): - I was disappointed to find that there was no fridge in the room. The bed was too firm, and the A/C wasn't effective. The shower was super small, but in the end, the room served its purpose. I just needed a place to crash and shower for the night. Not worth the money spent, however.
- Paul (4/5): - I didn't have the usual phone, fridge or microwave in the room. The pool has heroin needles lying around. Crackheads fix on cars in parking lot. Got charged for a day I was never there.
- Catalina (6/5): - Hotels .com needs to have high standards and this hotel is not
- Liliana (4/5): Not the cleanest of places - I stayed here one night during my cross-country trip for work. I originally had a different hotel booked, but I changed my reservation to be closer to Salt Lake City’s downtown, and I kind of wish that I didn’t make that change. The staff member at check in was very nice, but the rest of my experience wasn’t as great. From the start, I didn’t have the best “vibes” about this place, but I figured that it was only one night, so I should give it the benefit of the doubt. When I got into my room, I immediately went to shower, but when I saw the state of the bathroom and shower, I didn’t want to put my belongings down anywhere. I ended up putting my backpack on a towel on the counter just to find my toiletries. The shower curtain itself had dried up gunk from previous guests on it, and there was graffiti on the wall that had been poorly covered up. The shower nozzle was half detached from the wall, and I did my very best not to touch the sides of the shower, and I definitely didn’t go near the shower curtain. It just wasn’t an “inviting” experience overall. The one positive was that I had a place to park my car overnight, and the Motel 6 parking lot was enclosed, so I felt a little safer about my car being parked in this lot. I have stayed in Motel 6s before and never had this bad of an experience, so I’d definitely recommend spending the extra money and going elsewhere, if you have the means to do so. I definitely got what I paid for in trying to save a few dollars on my trip.
- Yesenia (8/5): Needed a warm bed and a hot shower :) - It was an okay place to stay last minute during a day of driving. One of the rooms reeked of cigarette smoke, so we asked for a new one and the trans receptionist was a sweetheart and changed our room with no problem.
- Stephen (10/5): - I liked that they were pet friendly with an adequate bathroom area for my dog. The staff there made us feel very comfortable.
- Tran (4/5): - Disappointed 🙁
- Oswald (6/5): Purpose served - It served its purpose. Needed a place to stay, but this hotel needs an upgrade. It had a smell.
- John (4/5): - Property has had little upkeep, yet they expect top dollar.
