Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): - This was a very fun and relaxing place to stay for four nights. We were a group of six with ages ranging from 0-70, and all of us really enjoyed it. The meals were all delicious, and the onsen was really nice. The area around is beautiful, and the weather was relatively cool even in the August heat.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Bryan (10/5): - An amazing experience in a traditional Japanese inn! The room was expansive and spacious, and definitely try the onsen, even if it seems intimidating to try as a foreigner. I experienced it in the winter after hiking snow trails, so it really soothes the body! The surrounding resort is beautiful and easy to walk to many hotspots in the area. The non-reservation restaurant on B1F is nice, but their menu is limited in the evening, so plan ahead if you are looking for nighttime dining.
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Clement (10/5): - Great stuff, loved the hotel hot spring - was pretty big with a lot of different pools
- Roland (10/5): - Friendly staff, great onsen, spacious rooms
- Meredith (8/5): - Staff were helpful and welcoming. Hotel whilst older was clean and well maintained. Buffet dinner and breakfast whilst it didn’t vary from
Day to day had plenty of variety to offer and was plentiful in supply.
Onsen restful. We had a great stay
- Kanako (6/5): - One day was enough. The bath was not that clean and the food was the same items served over and over for dinner and breakfast.
- Kar Chun Kenneth (8/5): - The building is old, but the facility is acceptable, the room is clean, although I did saw some bugs is at the outside frame of the window, which is understandable, because it is a country side area. The dining place around the area close really early, so the only choice is convenience store like Lawson and Scicomart.
- AKINORI (10/5): No title to me. - It was a good trip and stay at this hotel. I will come to this hotel again same times in next spring time.
- Michael (6/5): - Breakfast was nice and started early which I appreciate. The location was convenient for Jozankei, however, if you're not there for Onsen's there isnt a whole lot to see or do other than a short river walk.
Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and was pretty off putting, the rest of the property was fine although a little dated.
- myung (8/5): - nice, friendly hotel!. I enjoyed very much.
- Der Nien (8/5): -
- ZedTravels (8/5): Traditional rooms - Nice establishment that offers traditional rooms with tatami mats. Room is generally clean but requires an upgrade - lights are quite dim in genkan and shower areas.
They have a small corner for outdoor foot bath/onsen which is quite nice.
Food offered is not fantastic but given this place is found in the mountains, what more could one ask for, right?
- Mike (6/5): Transportation issues affected our stay - Our trip got off to a bad start when the hotel staff informed me that the free hotel shuttle bus to Sapporo was already fully booked 2 days in advance - leaving us no way to get back to Sapporo (the private bus was booked as well). So instead of checking in and relaxing we spent the rest of the day having to change our flight and following hotels because of the delay. The hotel should have made it abundantly clear that the free shuttle is low capacity and books quickly. They were jot very helpful with providing alternate travel options.
The rest of the stay was obviously affected by the level of stress that caused. The onsen was very nice though and had a great outdoor area looking at the mountains. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were small and older but comfortable. The futon could have had a bit more padding and I didn’t sleep that great.
- JimmySumKahWai (10/5): almost the best (stay) - Our Tour Leader has touted that this is the best Hotel throughout our 7-nights stay tour here in Hokkaido! We reached at 6pm and was just in time for dinner. Surprisingly modern and beautiful inside setting compared to the Hotel building front. Quite an impressive dining area that is spacious and offers a generous spread of both Japanese & International cuisine. Everything vying for limited space in out stomach!
The 3-star Jozankei Hotel Sapporo provides quick access to Jozankei Hot Spring. This hotel is located in a touristic area of Sapporo. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and while amenities include nice touches include slippers, free toiletries and bath sheets. Only dislike; the TV screen is the smallest we have came across for a while..
It was tatami room and we made our own bed, surprisingly they have a few staff moving around to ask if we need help on setting the bed! More memorable is the Onsen, superb and body relaxing! Had a good session at night… rich minerals to nourish our skin.
There was a bonus for us – there is a Jozankei night illumination running these 2 weeks and we got to view it, a 15-mins walk into the town central. Really a visual treat for us all.
Fully enjoyed our stay here.
- Kasumi (8/5): - The hotel was nice
- John (10/5): Superb food - Excellent buffet. Items were fresh and delicious
- Ken (2/5): - website wroted every days 10am have a free bus down to sapporo city but it was not e true e bus is only for guest check out n public transport it take more then 100 min no matter it was in e morning or night after 9pm. If peaks hrs it tk more than 2 hrs reached sapporo st. So guys pls don't believed wht e hotel wrote on e site.
- joeW9234EN (8/5): Hotel with nature view - An unassuming hotel with lovely nature surrounding. Woke up with a view of snow covered trees and roofs. Full of christmassy feel. Marvellous. Hotel food was delightful and delicious. Nice place to spend time with family and loved ones.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended - My first experience in Jozankei was wonderful, one night was never enough. Tatami room was cozy with wonderful view. Many onsens inside the hotel were great, esp.outdoor and foot onsen outdoor.
Even the hotel is a bit dated, the hotel is big. So it was not irritating at all.
Location is great as well.
- Andysee79 (10/5): Great one night stay - We stayed for only a night as we were on packaged tour. It was a great experience sleeping on a tatami. The staff are generally polite and helpful, typical of most Japanese.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were impressed with the taste and variety of food.
The onsen was also great, as well as the foot bath. Guests can wear the yukata to everywhere in the hotel.
- AKINORI (6/5): - My room at the hotel was not good one because I could not see outside of Jozankei mountains and liver. I could only see the walls of the hotel.
It was my 4th times to stay at the hotel, but this year's visit was very bad.
- Simone (8/5): Good facility, good location. - It’s a very good hotel, which probably has seen better days but still comfortable and fascinating.
The buffet offers good quality food and decent variety, and the Onsen is very well kept.
I wish my room was a non smoking one: even though it was very clean, I could still smell the nicotine at night, and that bothers me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The breakfast spread was unbelievable. A lot of local dishes that I've never seen before.
- Christian (8/5): - Same menu everyday for dinner but it was good with a wide variieties to choose from. Clean facilities good staffing.
- kole (10/5): - The room was smell Tabako.
Need to consider the air cleanness.
- pkh_travels (8/5): Hokkaido Vacation - Stayed one night at Jyzankei Milione hotel. Room is Tatami style with male-female separate onsen. Nice hot dip after a long cold day. Nice breakfast spread with wide variety of Japanese cuisine, bread, salad and fruits.
- KennethOJJ (10/5): Sumptuous dinner and good onsen - The subject says it all. You will be spoilt for choices during dinner and the onsen is big enough. The tatami room is really big and again, I like it when they separate the toilet bowl from the other toilet amenities. The overall experience is great.
- G_Intl_Travel (8/5): Day trip for the Onsen - Came here with the bus and Onsen package in Nov. We paid ¥1800pp for the ride and it was hassle free. Took the bus from Susukino bus stop and dropped off right in front of the Information centre in Jozankei. Walked 2 mins and we were already in Milione. Then we spent 1 hr at the onsen which was the highlight of the hotel. The hotel looked a bit dated but the onsen is still relatively clean. They had all the onsen pools and even a good outdoor bath. Then there is the sauna which you can enjoy. A good tip is to arrive here on a weekday and enjoy the onsen around noon to 3pm. This is when the hotel guests are not checked in yet and the tourist buses have not arrived in droves.
In summary, I would recommend this place for onsen as we searched the rest of the packaged onsen, and this one looks the best.
- Rock (6/5): - Hotel room is too much smoking smell and the room is too warm to sleep
- AKINORI (8/5): - It was my vacation from Hawaii. I enjoyed everything very much.
- Edward (8/5): - Location was excellent - close to everything. room desperately needs upgrade. service was good.
- gundamnsdk (6/5): Hot spring Hotel that felt dated - We stayed as part of a tour package and enjoyed the 8 course kaiseki dinner served by the hotel. Staff were friendly and polite and even waved us off while we left. While common areas of the hotel were upkept in good condition, the traditional Japanese style rooms we were assigned to felt quite dated and the washroom was small. Unfortunately for us we found a few large insects in our room but managed to chase it away.
- bcre89 (6/5): Room smell of cigarettes - We booked a Japanese style room for our family of six. Room size is large and spacious. But there is a strong smell of cigarettes. Do ask for air purifier to clean the air though the smell is still there. The buffet breakfast and dinner are included in our stay, although we have to pay a separate charge for my six year old's meals. There is good variety of food but not fantastic.
- AKINORI (8/5): - It was a nice vacation at the Hotel Milione for me because foods at the Buffet were very good and Hot spring was clean and enjoy to relax in the morning and evening.
I will visit the Milione again some time in next year.
- KrisNWM (6/5): Nice Location But Slightly Overpriced - The hotel is located right across the Jozankei bus stop. Rooms are spacious and clean as expected of Japanese hotels. Spa baths are also pleasant.
I took up the half board package and felt that it wasn't a good value for money as dinner buffet wasn't that great. You'd need to pay for juice and other beverages. Only water, tea and coffee is included. A better option would be to eat at restaurants near the hotel. I love the Matsuo Genghis Khan located barely 300 metres from the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel beautiful, location not so great - The hotel is beautiful inside with lots of facilities. It felt very casual as guests had dinner in the kimonos and robes provided in the rooms which was really comfortable. We were able to walk 5 minutes down the road and see the beautiful light show and a fire dance amongst the snow. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Language barrier was mostly fine but not much was displayed in English. We had to guess what we were eating (which wasn't too hard but would have been nice) and when we went to take the shuttle bus it proved very difficult. The location is the downfall of the hotel as there wasn't too much to do. We discussed multiple times with different staff members the times of the shuttle bus the hotel provides but still weren't able to take it. The shuttle leaves once in the morning and returns once in the afternoon and MUST be reserved which we didnt know. If you did manage to take the shuttle it didnt give you much time to do anything in Sapporo anyways. The local bus is very tiresome going into Sapparo (a long 1.45hr trip with lots of stops and very crowded). turns out some of the local buses need to be reserved aswell but sell out quickly as it appeared to be the only local transport out of the place. We also tried to take a taxi (being fed up with the bus), it took half an hour for the taxi to arrive, and the quoted price was very underestimated which was disappointing.
