Guest Reviews
- Meenaz (8/5): Good stay - We stayed for 5 nights and had a good stay. Staff are great, really helpful and they go out of their way to help you. The pool was good to relax in, very quiet and enough loungers. It’s away from main road so very peaceful. A walk away from the shops. Plenty of food choices around. The room was good but needs a little improvement. The only downside was that we could hear the people walking in the room above us loud in the middle of the night, which did disturb us every night, they were walking but it was loud! as the upper level flooring is made of bamboo so if your going to this hotel ask for a top floor room so you don’t experience the noise.
- Jude (10/5): beautiful quiet and accomodating - very friendly staff and helpful with recommendations, arrangements for cars /tours etc. beautiful setting. nice retreat from the business and chaos of Ubud. The food was ok but a little expensive for the quality.
- Glenis (8/5): - Great eating areas nearby, lovely quiet spot in a busy location. Beautiful surroundings and great staff. Noisy people above us, with every noise heard and scrapping of chairs in early hours of the night.
- Juanita (10/5): 3 days in bali - Artini cottages let us check in early and the service is excellent. food is great and location is close to market and restaurants. will recommend staying here
- Lindsay (10/5): - The hotel grounds were beautiful. Amazing atmosphere. I loved the balcony on our room that overlooked the garden.
- HELEN (10/5): A wonderful place to stay! - When we arrived, we were so surprised that the hotel is nicer than we expected. Every hotel staff we met were very friendly and eager to help. During the first day breakfast at the hotel, one staff gave us a map and showed us where and what to in walking distance in Ubud. On our request, he even arranged a day trip for us for the next day. The driver picked us up on time from the hotel. We had a great time! We will stay in this cottage again if we visit Ubud again. Thanks to all the staff of this hotel. You made our holiday so enjoyable!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The staff was wonderful!!! Caring and considerate and so thoughtful and kind!!
- Carol (10/5): - Hoped for a quiet, clean, and comfy place to stay in the heart of Ubud, and that's exactly what I got! The staff was friendly and helpful at all times, the room, while a bit old, was clean, comfortable, and HUGE, and the pool and facilities were great. I was so comfortable at all times, as a single female traveler, and I really appreciated the friendly feel of the place. I highly recommend it!
- John (10/5): - Well looked after, staff were friendly and attentive. The accommodation is very central walking distance to anything you need whether it was food or leisure.
Would stay again and I will definitely tell my friends.
- SOPHIE (10/5): Very good hotel and stay - I was very happy to stay in this hotel. The staff was very professional and friendly. They helped me with tips and where to go, what to visit...
The room was clean and good value for money.
I did not take a breakfast as I was leaving before 7am.
- Paul (10/5): - This was my 2nd stay at Artini 2 Cottages (last time in 2016). I love the traditional Balinese architecture and the fabulous, manicured garden setting wrapped around a crystal clear pool and dining area. The hotel is also very central to all the sights and attractions of Ubud, and the transport companies I used to travel to and from Ubud had their station just 400m from the hotel. Very attentive, kind staff and good breakfasts! This hotel is a winner in my book. One caveat... it is set well off and below the main street, so access for people with disabilities could be challenging.
- Davina (10/5): - We were moved across to the Artini hotel on Bisma as the pool was under repairs. The staff were fabulous at moving us over. And the Artini Bisma was wonderful.
- Julie (10/5): - One of my favourite hidden gems! I have stayed at a few other hotels in Bali / Ubud and this one is my favourite so far! It is set in from the busy street and the pool and the grounds are very “Zen”. I swam every day and made sure to add breakfast for approximately $4 extra per day, so I didn’t need to run out first thing. I stayed in a traditional room which was pretty basic. It had a small deck at the front and the only thing needed would be an updated bathroom since the tub was burgundy and had not undergone renovations, as some others had. I will definitely stay here again since the staff are very friendly and I found the whole experience to be very peaceful and enjoyable
- Heather (8/5): - Lovely property in a great location. However, my room was run down and the bathroom was outdated and not very clean.
The restaurant, reception, gardens and pool were gorgeous and staff wonderful.
- Michelle (10/5): - Artini 2 Cottages are lovely. The cottages are attractive, traditional Bali buildings, so not new, but charming and full of character. They are set in a large secluded garden some way back from the road, so you don't hear the traffic. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Eating breakfast in the poolside restaurant was delightful. It's a great location, easy walking distance from Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace and Pura Taman Sarawasti (water temple). There are many excellent cafes and restaurants in Jl Hanoman itself and it is also close to the semi-pedestrianised Jl Goutama area. We spent a peaceful few days at Artini 2 and would thoroughly recommend it.
- sharri (10/5): Relaxing, lush green , bungalow style ! Loved it - We really enjoyed our stay here, it’s beautiful, lush and green. The pool is beautiful & clean. Breakfast was a delicious set menu each morning. Staff were friendly!!
Location is perfect and close to the Main Street of ubud. Lots of restaurants in the area.
They are bungalow style rooms, not newly built so a little outdated but that’s the ubud character style with the high hut style roof.
The only things I could fault is the broken shower , we had to hold the hose to wash ourselves & the mosquitos, not the accommodations fault but just make sure you take repellent.
- franca (10/5): - The room are spacious with brand new bathroom. Stunning garden and pool. Staff are very friendly and very accommodating. Serene and tranquil, yet as you step outside you have access to great restaurants, bars and massage places.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Artini 2 Cottages are lovely and convenient to all the Ubud attractions.
- Georgia (10/5): Hidden Oasis in the Heart of Ubud - This accommodation was very good! The location was perfect - central to most attractions and lots of food/shopping. The room was large and clean, and it looked like most rooms had nice green views. The pool was a little green so we didn't swim but it was really nice to sit beside. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. I would definitely come back again and stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the pool & garden setting. A quiet oasis in a busy town.
The first night we were in one of the “updated” rooms but it was dark and absolutely characterless. We were thankfully able to move to one of the cottages the next day. The cottage was quite lovely but “tired” & needs some sprucing up.
The breakfast was fine—nothing great. But the dining area / setting is wonderful. Did not eat any other meals here as there are so many options in Ubud.
Although not perfect, would still return here & recommend it as well.
- Cheryl (10/5): - The staff were awesome. Great place to stay. Food was what you would expect inBali. Simple but nice. Bed was comfy as. Probably the only downside was each morning in the bathroom was a bad drainage smell but it did go away after a couple of hours
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is as close as you can get to being Bali itself.
Beautiful setting and temple like feel, green and well maintained.
Rooms are nice but not great needs updateing.
Staff very helpfull.
Just make sure, before booking excursons check for prices elswhere the differences can be massive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was deep in the jungle. We had the last building at the very back of the property which felt like a temple. Sorta creepy yet sorta beautiful. Pool was fantastic. Location was great. Staff were lovely!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms were good, quite unique doors. A good sized pool, and nice breakfast area
- Vince (8/5): - Nice quiet hidden away with nice garden. The pool is cool and staff friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Great pool. And rooms very Bali
- Verified traveler (4/5): Lovely on the outside, disappointing on the inside - My stay didn't start particularly well when my hotel transfer didn't arrive to pick me up in the middle of the night (I called the number provided and they told me to call back the next day which wasn't very helpful!). When I arrived the next day, I didn't receive the room I expected so downgraded. While the room was lovely and traditional during the day, a mouse/rat/rodent ran around it at night (probably due to the thatched roof). When i reported it to reception, the lady laughed as though it was normal. Um, not really! The hotel were kind enough to refund my first night's stay (as i ended up having to book into an airport hotel) but not the difference in the room price which was disappointing compared to customer service I'd experienced elsewhere. The refund was also hampered by hotels.com bizzare internal processes. I think if nothing goes wrong with your stay (and you're in one of the main rooms) this would be a wonderful place to stay - the pool and lounging area is a particular highlight and most of the staff are lovely (one temperamental receptionist). Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll return any time soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It’s close to everything. Very central in Ubud business area
- Ellen (10/5): - The location is an oasis in Ubud with beautiful grounds. My newly renovated room was spacious and extremely confortable. Best of all, the staff are exceptionally kind and helpful. Would definitely return!
- Susanne (10/5): A little slice of heaven in Ubud - My stay at Artini II COTTAGES WAS AMAZING AND THE STAFF WAS GREAT.
If you love old world charm, this is the place for you. It is so tranquil, serene and beautiful. Sitting on the chairs outside the cottage I stayed at was simply the best. I was able to relax, hear the birds and ducks and just enjoy Mother Nature. I just loved this place and it was the second time I was there.
Ketud Gudug, the supervisor was exceptional and was always there to greet you, ask how you were doing, if there was anything we needed etc. Very friendly and courteous Ketud is. Definitely one of the best customer service representative I have met.
He deserves a big raise.
Thank you Ketud.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good value. Great location. Wonderful staff. Lovely traditional buildings. We stayed six nights. Will return.
- Walter (8/5): Great location - but some TLC required. - This was our second stay at Artini 2 Cottages during the ast 3 years. For us it is a perfect location within easy walking distance of the forest, markets etc etc. The staff are always happy and obliging - especially Ketut who went out of his way to ensure our stay was memorable. The pool is a great bonus, well maintained - towels are also supplied. We were a little disappointed to note that our room was not up to the standard of our previous one, which was truly memorable. The rooms are cleaned daily but ours certainly was in need of more than a quick flip over with the duster - a deep clean was probably all that was required but it would make all the difference. Hopefully the management will take this on board because it is a truly lovely place to stay.
- Moshe (2/5): - We were a party of 8 staying at 4 rooms in this hotel in September 2018. The hotel has a beautiful garden and pool and nice breakfast. But that's about the only positive I can say.The rooms, even the "super delux" ones where we stayed were plainly dirty. Dead insects on the floor, bed sheets that were not clean. Some of them had a strong mold smell. We were supposed to stay for 6 nights, but when rats appeared in one room, we couldn't take it any longer and left the hotel a few days earlier. It was tough to get the management admit and they denied the problems. It had a bad effect on our vacation in Ubud, and I recommend to avoid this hotel.
- Barbara (10/5): - Such a pretty spot, so unexpected in the city. Room was lovely, flowers set about made such a nice welcome. Staff were fantastic, location is great, definitly recommend.
- CYNTHIA (2/5): Rooms are a dump - This place is a complete dump. The exterior grounds are appealing, but the rooms are a mess. I asked to be switched and the second room was worst than the first. Mold, dirty, broken fixtures. It was awful. Staff was annoyed when I asked to change rooms, then next day was constantly harassed to arrange a tour. Don't stay here. It's awful!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The gardens are nice..... pool is the most updated thing in the place. If you don’t like the hustle and bustle of the city, you will not like this place. Whole place smelled of sewage. We didn’t get the room we booked. The bathroom shower didn’t work correctly. On top of that, there are huge gaps in windows and doors with NO mosquito net included. We stayed one night and decided to book a different hotel. Needs major renovations!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel but need some improvements - The staff offered excellent services. Just few improvements are required: for breakfast drinking water is not available, we have to buy bottle water from the resto.
No TV in our room which we think it's necessary. Overall we are happy with the services and location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location misrepresented on hotels.com map. It showed as being in “center” of Ubud but it was a hike to get to anywhere.
- JD (6/5): Location is good, no atmosphere - I stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed it. Obviously management has changed, the staff are miserable and almost nowhere to be seen and it lacks any kind of atmosphere. I stayed 8 nights (too many) and never saw anyone in the restaurant. There are plenty of places to eat right out the front in a friendly atmosphere. I didn’t like my room on the first night so asked to change. It was 100 times better. Don’t put up with a crappy room. Disappointed and won’t be back. Overpriced for what you get. This is the first negative review I’ve ever left.
- TCB (6/5): Very nice location and garden type atmosphere - This is a nice place with high quality tropical landscaping. The pool is great and it is located in a nice central location in Ubud. The only thing I would recommend is picking up some incense on your way in because the rooms have a authentic musty smell.
- jo (10/5): Amazing! - We loved our stay at artini2 cottages. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. The cottages are absolutely beautiful-Balinese style. Great location- can walk to everything including art markets, and places to eat, monkey forest. There's a great pool too. I'll definitely go there again.
- Tracey (10/5): Lovely Balinese style in centre of Ubud - I love Artini 2. Lovely villa type rooms with balconies set in the most lush, established Balinese gardens. People come to take pictures of the gardens alone. The pool is not huge but lovely and set in a private garden and so relaxing and pretty. The location is right in the centre of everything in Hanoman street. The staff are wonderful and even arranged a private spiritual leader visit in a remote village which was a highlight. I will be staying here again. If you are travelling alone, it is a great, welcoming, safe and pretty choice too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs a serious makeover - Once upon a time when this place was loved and cared for it would have been great. It has a grandeur to it. But now it is just old, not well taken care of, and musty smelling. Quite dirty and towels that shld have been thrown out some hundred washes ago.
Way overpriced for central Ubud. For the price paid I wld expect much better standard.
Staff nice and friendly!
Breakfast - dont go there.
- Rod (8/5): Right in the centre of Ubud - Close to all amenities and yet quiet and peaceful. Staff are a delight and everything is run very smoothly.
- Libby (8/5): Beautiful gardens - Old style Balinese in a beautiful setting with a lovely pool. Gardens are superb and the location in Ubud is great! Halfway between the Palace and art markets and the Monkey Forest. Only down side there is a lot of steps down into the main pool and lobby area from the street and some rooms have a set of skinny ladder like steps up to them. If you aren't good with steps don't book a second floor room and check it out for suitability. Apart from that I would highly recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place. Fantastic location in the middle of town within its own little oasis. Be prepared to carry your bag up and down some stairs.
- Ruby (10/5): Very central, close to a Temple, great cafes - Very central, close to a Temple, great cafes, shopping. Taxis near by and also mini marts.
Walking distance to central Ubud and Monkey Forest Rd.
Fabulous hotel, beautifull surroundings.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Superb location, you can walk almost anywhere from the markets to the wide choice of restaurants and not realise you are in the centre of Ubud.Very peaceful and quiet.Hotel grounds very clean and well kept, decent size pool, very friendly staff.Bathrooms need updating as had a shower curtain which didn't really stop water pooling onto the floor hence making the bath mat sodden.Otherwise,a very pleasant stay for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful setting and great staff - The setting exceeded my expectations - gorgeous and tranquil, even though you enter the property off a busy street. The staff was extremely helpful with practical things (I asked for something to put my luggage on and an adaptor, which they promptly provided.) and with help in arranging activities. Excellent breakfast included - both Western and Asian selections. Only downsides were: A/C had a moldy smell (so I used fan only), and shower sometimes wasn't hot enough (but it usually was at least warm). Great value for the price - I would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, room, food and dervice - I'm going back there to stay before I start a retreat. It's great!
Close to central Ubud and markets and lots to do and see in the area.
Highly recommend
- Leandro (6/5): Moldy smell a disappointment - Although the hotel premises are very nice (pool, gardens) and it feels like an oasis of tranquility right by one of Ubud's busiest roads, the room disappointed us. With no air circulation, there was mold that you could see and smell. The shower was badly designed, as was the wardrobe with the safe, which awkwardly occupied a nook of the room that would have been more useful (for suitcase space) without the robe there.
- Jackie (6/5): Close to city center, that's it. - Good location but old rooms. Room had ants problem and bedding was nice but residual stains. Old bathroom, shower was hot but sink had no hot water. Not really worth the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - Pleasantly surprised upon entering. Gardens gorgeous and staff great. Very relaxing spot in such a busy area. Tucked behind everything you wouldn't know it was there. Lovely pool area and walk to everything. We had a 2 year old with us and staff loved him. Room spacious and clean. Highly recommend
- Carhn (10/5): Stunning Hotel in the heart of Ubud - Lovely hotel. Very comfy beds. Rooms dark but we like it like that, gr8 for sleeping and very quiet. Super friendly staff. Great pool an fantastic gardens.
Bathrooms need updating but sufficient and no fridge which is a must in Bali... Although the staff put one in our room when we requested one. Apparently they are upgrading the rooms in the near future. Breakfast not so great to be honest compared to other places, But we loved it here and would stay again.
- lizz (6/5): Central traditionall old. - Central situation. Traditional and old beautiful gardens great pool.very clean
Lovely living wall.BUT..
No off street parking .Deluxe room old damp ,mouldy and no fridge or t.v.
Unexpected for a deluxe toom. We asked for upgrade and was offerred a room with fridge and t.v..for 3 days later but no privacy above pool so declined. We found out later that there were better rooms available as offerred to another guest but not to us. We were happy to pay more even though we paid well.over the going rate by booking early .another unexpectedf surprise. towels and sheets very old and stained. Breakfast was ok..small.
No soap in dispenser for 2 days. Very hard bed. Sore back whole stay.
Bulb blew not fixed .
Staff friendly but....not good value for money really... I think super deluxe rooms are better. .and not much dearer. ?
- Experienced (8/5): Quiet, very tidy, great pool area, great location - Quiet, very tidy and great pool area and gardens, great location- in middle of activities, shops and restaurants, staff helpful and willing to show you around.
- Danielle (10/5): Nice cottages in a real nice peaceful location - The Artini cottages 2 are located in a real nice area of Ubud. The cottages are beautiful and have all the amenities needed. They have wooden floors, nice queen beds and my particular one had a view to a rice field and a balcony, so ideal!! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. I definitely recommend staying here, it is much nicer than the two other main streets that are noisy. Everything you need is close by too, restaurants, cafes, spas, markets, etc... They also have a small pool and towels and reclining chairs, so you can spend some time in a peaceful environment. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous too and well maintained. I spent 6 nights there and really enjoyed my time and felt like I was having a real Balinese experience.
- Paul (6/5): A quiet oasis off the busy streets of Ubud - Nice quiet retreat, just off the busy roads of Ubud. Facilities such as bathroom, tv, fan etc in need of an update. Reasonable location within walking distance of points of interest.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bali stay - Pros: good location located on a set of steps on a walkway snaking from the street, nice staff, spacious room, comfortable bed, strong water pressure for showers, good breakfasts cooked to order, beautiful pool, Balinese style landscape, near temple where you could hear practice sessions of mesmerizing Balinese music at night.
Cons: strand of hair found in the breakfast, television didn't work right during the whole time, need more lights near steps.. There are a lot of dark areas where tripping could be a hazard especially when there are heavy rains,. International news channel would be nice to offer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in the centre of Ubud. Away from the traffic - the surrounds are beautiful
- Gordon (8/5): Pretty oasis in the chaos that's now Ubud - Really nice grounds and pool, good food, good staff. Rooms are ok but bed and bathroom are getting tired. Good central location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to Ubud village - Great stay with really friendly staff. Right in Ubud village
- Benjamin (10/5): Memorable visit - Beautiful hotel in perfect location in central Ubud within walking distance of all local attractions and bars/restaurants. Amazing pool and comfy rooms with lovely breakfast and warm, friendly service. Only small complaint is the bathroom which is a little basic but this is a minor quibble on what is a great place to stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice pool and gardens - Good simple breakfast.Friendly staff.near monkey forest.in the quiet part in town
- ali (6/5): - Towels were very old place was dark with old outlets !
Poor service!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect oasis - Great pool and lovely, quiet grounds
- Kayla (10/5): An incredible little gem - We didn't want to leave - I can't say enough good things about our stay. Large, well appointed rooms located in the most adorable little two-story-cottages. The room had a real balinese feel, and the bathroom was massive, modern, and clean. When you step off the relatively busy road, you're suddenly in the most gorgeous property - gardens, balinese statues, and an amazing pool. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast each morning was excellent. We kept saying over and over that we couldn't believe the value for the price -- having stayed in a number of hotels throughout SE Asia, I would probably rate this best value for my money - I didn't want to leave, and will definitely return again
- Alan (10/5): Centrally located but very private - This is a unique property. Right in the middle of the action but since it sits well behind another building, it is very private. As noted in the name, it is a number of cottages, each with a private outside sitting area. The pool is very nice, the breakfast is individually prepared. Only the A/C was a bit marginal
- Jessica (10/5): Peaceful sanctuary in the city - Despite being located on a busy street in the centre of Ubud, this property is like a little oasis. A flight of stairs leads down to the sunken gardens, where the city sounds just disappear. The grounds are just beautiful, with many paths and a great variety of trees and flowers. The accommodations are spread among several authentic Balinese style buildings with amazing carved doors, window panels and railings. Although the room interior was admittedly tired, this in no way diminished our enjoyment of the facilities, including the large swimming pool. The rooms are not updated, but they are large and comfortable. It's the atmosphere, style and setting of this hotel that makes it special, not the room decor. We would definitely stay here again.
- Roseanna (8/5): Great value at a central location in Ubud - Great value and centrally located in Ubud. Walking distance to many sights and shopping, restaurants, etc. Nice pool and great customer service at hotel. Would stay here again. Only issue is had some water issue with our pipes but staff was readily available and fixed as soon as possible. Breakfast was good and adequate, included every morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location, very helpful staff. - Set back from the road, beautiful hotel property, very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
- linda (10/5): Oasis in the middle of the busy city - we loved it here! The pool and breakfast area was beautiful with the water fountains and lush well kept gardens. Kutik was very helpful and arranging tours for our group of eight and letting us know the about the sights to see in and around Ubud, the staff was very friendly and helpful and English speaking. we would stay here again if we return to Ubud.
- Doug (10/5): Oasis in busy Obud - Stayed four nights and it was a welcoming base for exploring Ubud and area.
This small hotel became like home and the staff could not be friendlier and helpful.
- Michael (8/5): Visiting Ubud - For the cost and the location Artini 2 is a good value. We would stay there again if returning to Ubud.
- Jayesh (10/5): Great Hotel and Amazing Staff - Great stay and the staff were amazing. Location was great as close to main part of Ubud. Will stay here again.
- Matthew (6/5): Nice gardens and pool, shame about the rooms - This place is in a good location in ubud and there is a lot within walking distance. It is very quiet and the gardens and pool are very nice. The rooms are a bit of a let down by comparison. The rooms have traditional doors which lock with a padlock from outside but they don't lock very effectively -- when locked, you can push them open about five or six inches so they are not at all secure and you can't keep the bugs out. Add to that the fact that the safe box is not screwed down and you won't be wanting to leave anything valuable in the room. The bed was pretty comfortable and the AC worked well. The bedding was dirty though (blood stains) and the bathroom really needed updating (quite dirty, the shower curtain does little to keep water off the floor, the shower head is at chest height etc). Overall it's not a bad place but it would be better if the rooms were finished to a similar standard as the outside areas.
- Chico yogini (10/5): Friendly hotel in a great location - Very nice Balinese owned hotel. Quiet, off the street with lovely gardens. Staf are warm and very helpful.
- Chelsea (10/5): Blissful & Verdant Grounds - Absolutely adored this place! Not only was it gorgeous, but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, as well. Would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel in a great location - Ubud is a wonderful place and Artni 2 is no exception. The setting is a lovely quiet oasis of gardens and pathways. The staff are generous with their time, warm funny and go out of their way to ensure you have a positive experience.
- Nuriye (8/5): great , very pleased - very happy with my choice of hotel , the staff was friendly - Mr Wiarnaya was very sweet every morning making some animals with the towels , very helpful as well . Room had humid smell but i guess thats normal for such a humid place . it was very clean and well looked after. the gardens were amazing and the swimming pool was decent large . breakfast wasn't great but OK . i think the choice of breakfast they rovide was very similar to each other . Still decent . the location is fantastic , close to everywhere .
- Paul (10/5): Great location with tons of Balinese character - We really enjoyed our stay at the Artini 2 Cottages. Of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip to Indonesia, Artini 2 Cottages had by far the most authentic Balinese charm and character. We were greeted each morning over a cup of tea on the lanai of our room by a young Balinese woman who placed a traditional offering of flowers, rice and incense on the path in front, and in a small shrine attached to our room, after which we could watch the friendly doves and lizards drop by for a morning feast. The hotel is set among spectacular, manicured gardens full of beautiful Balinese statues, and the pool was crystal clear, clean and very appealing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to see and do in the lovely city of Ubud. The hotel's location was also excellent, and within walking distance of all the major attractions in the old city -- Royal Palace, Monkey Forest, many temples and museums, excellent restaurants and shopping, etc. I would definitely stay at Artini 2 Cottages again, and recommend it to others.
- Cathryn (6/5): Beautiful hotel in a great location - Set in beautiful gardens (noisy wildlife at night, especially after the rain!), it's well-placed for food and drink, yoga, shopping, or organising trips around Ubud or beyond. Staff are lovely. The room needs a little modernising - more sockets and a better shower, etc.
- April (8/5): Beautiful scenery around hotel! - The air conditioner didn't work the greatest, the staff were nice but not experienced servers. The food was average. The hotel staff were awesome for connections to set up tours of Ubud and to help arrange a transport to the Gili Islands. The scenery was absolutely stunning, I wish we would of had more time to relax on our balcony or lounge by the pool to enjoy how truly beautiful it was. It looked just like the pictures on the website! I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Ubud!
- Tora (10/5): Best place in Ubud - Most likely the best place to stay in Ubud - will definitely be back! The place is quiet and extraordinary, and the staff always very helpful. The only thing that should be noted is the bad wifi connection.
- Paul (8/5): Convenient, relaxing and quiet in central Ubud - The hotel is well kept, especially the gardens. Some of the rooms are a little dated inside but are also quite grand and are individual and nicely appointed with outside seating areas. The hotel staff were helpful and pleasant.
- Andy (10/5): Super room deluxe location. - We had a super deluxe room with air conditioning and heaps of space. Our room was in a 2 story building at the back with our own private balcony. Amazing gardens and architecture. Pool was great and highly recommended as humid and hot in September. Good breakfast and friendly staff helping to arrange transfers, a driver and sort out a rafting booking on the phone. Great location in centre of town so you can walk everywhere yet set back from the road so you don't hear any traffic at all.
- Carl (10/5): magical and good value - it was magical. we had a little 2nd floor treehouse style room. jungly view on one side, rica paddy view on the other. service was nice. pool is small. lots of places to eat all around the area. they helped us set of a rafting trip that was epic! the architecture was stunning. very peaceful place. romantic too!
- Katie (8/5): Lovely cottages in a brilliant location - Very friendly staff and beautiful grounds. Breakfast made to order. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
- lana (8/5): Perfect location - our recent stay here was fantastic, breakfast was yummy, staff were always very helpful and organised a driver for us when we needed. Apart from our safe being broken everything else was perfect. It is so quiet as soon as you step off the busy street it is tranquil and peaceful.
- Harsh (8/5): Nice hotel in budget and good location - It is a good hotel with nice and comfortable stay. The inside surroundings is quiet and beautiful. Perfect for relaxing!
- Alan (6/5): Ordinary one nighter in Ubud - Overall average. Nice staff though most Balinese are. Hotel had initially not received confm from Hotel.com so tedious check in.as a regular to Ubud i rate the room as overpriced. No wifi or tv in room. Glad i read books! Get all this down the road similar sized room for half the price.
So its ok if price was cheaper.
- Rosemary (6/5): - Great location but disappointed with our room. Hotel was advertised as air conditioned rooms- air conditioner barely worked at all! Thankfully a fan is provided. Large gaps around the door and windows allowed mosquitoes to enter. There were 2 safes in our room but neither worked. We were advised that security was a wooden locker at reception but our key opened the next door locker so security nil! Lovely pool area and gardens. Wifi signal very poor in our room but ok at the pool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): What a wonderful stay! - My mum and I had a wonderful stay! We absolutely loved out stay and would love to go back.
- Christopher (8/5): Great value for money in a fantastic location! - Artini II Cottages are located right in the heart of Ubud city centre, along the fashionable Jalan Hanoman strip - where there are great little cafes, boutiques and spas. About a 10 minute walk from the main road through the city, it's peaceful and quiet.
As soon as you step off the road down the steps to the accommodation it is hard to believe that the hustle and bustle of Ubud even exists.
Hotel staff are very friendly and accomodating, the grounds are immaculately kept, swimming pool and surrounds are clean and the rooms are spotless.
Wifi is free, but is only really strong enough around the pool and reception area. In the rooms, there is hardly any signal at all. But to be honest, it's a very small criticism on an otherwise exceptional value for money hotel. Plus you are in Bali - disconnect anyway ;)
I would happily stay again.
- Brian (8/5): A lovely character small hotel in a good location - Enjoyed staying in this hotel as it has the most beautiful garden setting and is conveniently situated for the restaurants and shops of the town. Rooms are on the small size but do have a nice open balcony. Bathroom was very tired and in need of updating. Lovely swimming pool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great loaction and beautiful grounds - Terrific customer service overall. Great loaction central to Ubud and walk to shops, restaurants, sights. Good food at the hotel restaurant. Beautiful grounds. The showers (handheld) in the traditional Balinese-style rooms were challenging to use, and the geckos shared my shower but were friendly. :)
- Lindsay (8/5): Decent choice in central Ubud - I stayed in two different rooms, as I had to change for an Intrepid tour I booked. The quality varies substantially - the rooms with AC and fridge are much nicer than the more basic rooms, so I would recommend spending the few extra dollars to get in one of those. The breakfast is nice, and pool area very pleasant. Overall a decent deal for what you pay - this isn't a 5 star resort, nor is it a hostel.
- Nancy (8/5): - The hotel was surprisingly peace as it was I the heart of Ubud. The service was great. It has a beautiful pool. It attracts quiet clientele from all over the world, singles, couples and families.
- Pauline (6/5): Budget Hotel in great location - This is a good hotel and for the price you can't go wrong.
The room we had was large which was great for spreading out our things, with a nice view of the pool. The bathroom was large and quite newly renovated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice hotels - Located in the centre hotels was very good, balinese concept and love it so much
