Guest Reviews
- Sara (9/5): - Such a beautiful hotel! Our bedroom was huge, elegant and beautifully furnished with a vast bathroom and private hallway. No aircon or fans but we didn’t need either. Lovely toiletries and the interiors of the convent building that we were in were stunning. Original stunningly restored and renovated building with modernist and antique furniture. We ate breakfast and dinner in the Captain’s House, delicious food and lovely staff. There is also a lovely cafe inbetween the two buildings which is same owner/designer but different management. Kids played football outside every evening which might disturb some but we enjoyed it. You can, by the way, drive your car into the fort and park by the hotel.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Being in an old church, the architecture of the rooms and the common area is unique and the decor very thoughtful. Staff are great. Highly recommended.
- Olivier (10/5): A s’offrir! - Magnifique établissement Décoration superbe Une belle experience
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful place. Cool town. Worth the detour to see the old city. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the historic aspect of the whole thing! The staff was excellent and the food both dinners and the breakfast .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really interesting location, unfortunately heating was not connected but they did everything in there power to make sure the room was warm. If you do come to this town The Citern is a must see, especially first thing in the morning when the light is brilliant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellence in everything - comfort, taste, style! The Hotel is the best in town!
- Silvia O. (10/5): Very special hotel like a private house . - We were in the dependance of the Iglesias Hotel because it is the law season , and the atmosphere was very intimate like in a private house . The colors , the light ,the music , the food the attentions of the staff, everything was perfect . This is the luxe .
- Clayton (10/5): - The hotel was amazing - nice and quiet tucked away out of the chaos of the town. Staff were great and the restaurant served amazing food. Our only complaint was on our way out of town - the hotel staff arranged a taxi to the train station (taxi driver was a friend of the gentleman working the main desk at the hotel). They both confirmed it was 20 dirham to the station however when we arrived it was apparently 20 dirham per person plus a baggage fee so he charged us 50 for the ride. Left a bad taste in our mouths - somewhat expected in Morocco however not from an establishment such as the L'Iglesia.
- Juergen (8/5): Fantastic location in the old town - Very good location in the middle of the beautiful old town. Absolutely recommendable. Definitely look at the old church belonging to the hotel.
- rajendra (8/5): Good Stay - The hotel is in a good location but it is priced atleast twice for what they offer when you compared to surrounding hotels
- Sibilla (10/5): Ottimo hotel ottima posizione!
- Lauren (6/5): Great Location, Okay Value - The hotel is in a historic building (wasn't actually in a church, as I expected, though I was able to visit the church). The room was beautifully styled, and the location amazing. However, the property has a bit of a corporate coldness to it unlike many of the places in Morocco where I've stayed. It also didn't feel like the best value (twice as expensive as other good options nearby).
- xianggangadin (8/5): Nice but pricey - Beautiful hotel right in heart of Portuguese town.
Lovely but a bit expensive.
- Ivo (10/5): A gem in El Jadida - A new hotel in a former 19th century church, this is the most unusual hotel I have ever been to. Rooms were perfectly clean, breakfast tasty and location perfect in the middle of the old Portuguese cite. We found El Jadida to be very friendly while not touristy with good markets (prices cheaper than Marrakesh) and good dining options.
