63Sal (10/5): New Orleans Jolly - Excellent property. Beautiful reception area. Exceptional staff. Very large and clean suites. We had 208. Only 12 stairs up. Some rooms were more. Lovely pool area with towels provided. Pool was clean. Our balcony was huge. Absolutely excellent stay. There was nothing to not like.

Immaculate reception area, nice private outside space and pool if required. There were a few age related issues to fixtures and fittings. Dish washers did not work, heavily stained rug in the sitting room, Venetian blinds tatty, some door bolts not working, noisy AC unit.

Donna (9/5): I would definetly stay again and highly recommend Grenoble house. - The courtyard and pool area was absolutely lovely and the staff could not be more friendly. The location was fantastic, just one block from Bourbon Street. Very quiet. The bed was comfortable. We stayed in a ground floor apartment which was great as the property does not have a lift for the upper floors. The kitchen was a little small but functional. It would have been nice to have a washing machine.
Megan (9/5): - Location was perfect for our needs of the festival locations, where our friends were staying, and the World War II museum. The place having a kitchenette allowed us to enjoy the benefits of a cooking class for more than one day. The bed was amazingly comfortable and check-in didn't matter how late our flight got in since it was keyless! The whole time we stayed (6 nights), there was no service for switching our towels or making the bed. We didn't mind but it came as a surprise for the price.
Dan (10/5): - Although a block from Bourbon Street, the hotel was quiet inside the room and in the courtyard. After long walks in New Orleans, the hot tub was a relief. The arrangement of the suite was awesome. It provided a room for entertaining without view of a bed. The leather furniture there was comfortable. With the living room between the street and the bedroom, sleeping came easy. The business side of the suite, kitchenette, closet, and bathroom was nestled in the back. Management was attentive to our needs even fixing a minor leak from an AC pan the day I brought it to their attention. Bathroom was on the smaller size but manageable
LISA (9/5): Excellent location and amenities. - Spacious suite with two bedrooms and two baths and full kitchen/living area. Very well located but also quiet when needed. The pool and hottub were a nice bonus. I would stay again. The bedrooms do not cool as much as the main areas and it can get a little sticky at night. I could have slept with the bedroom door open to alter this but I prefer a closed door for sleep so I made due.

Thea (8/5): Nice French Quarter spot. Fairly quiet while still being close to everything. - If you want to be in walking distance to everything French quarter this is a great location. The pool and hot tub area was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and clean. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment, and it was on the 3rd floor, and this is not your typical 3rd floor , these were steep winding stairs. We were staying for a week so carrying heavy suitcases, coolers, and groceries ect…. was crazy. There are definitely people who would not be able to do it. Also, the dishwasher was broken and had clearly been broken a long time. Washing dishes was not on my vacation plan. There is no parking so plan on paying a significant additional amount if you’re bringing a car.

That made us feel bad and frustrated. Not a good hospitality practice. Beware that property charges $100 if the name of the guest is changed after booking was completed. In our case, property couldn't charge my credit card and they cancelled the entire booking for my second room leaving my friends homeless 2 days prior to arrival. As the result, they had to book another hotel for much higher prize. Money for the cancelled reservation were not refunded (over $900).

Debra (7/5): Fantastic location, place needs an update. - The location was great during Mardi Gras. Very central but far enough from the noise to get a good night’s sleep. We also felt it was a safe location. Our bathroom was disgusting. Old tub that they had obviously tried to refinish. The finish was flaking off, the grout was very black and moldy and the shower door frame was so low, that my husband hit his head on it every time he had to get in or out of the shower. The bathroom floor, which I believe was supposed to be white or ivory was also very dirty

Terwijl dit gebied vol met mensen is, gezelligheid is en rumoer, is daar niets van te merken als je in je appartementje/ kamer bent. Je kan er compleet tot rust komen na een dag/ avond in New Orleans. Alles wat je nodig hebt is er, een kookplaat, koelkast, goede en lekker liggende bedden, servies en bestek, you name it. Heel de stad is op loopafstand van Grenoble House. Wat ons betreft 100% een aanrader voor een city trip New Orleans!

Our room was generally comfortable however we found it very dark inside and needed to use lights during the daytime due to there only being block out blinds or locked shutters - additional sheer curtains or blinds on some of the windows would allow privacy and daylight. Bathroom clean and nice toiletries supplied. Tiled floors in kitchen and living area needed a deep clean. Dishwasher not working but would suggest a clothes washing machine in its place would be more useful for travellers of a longer stay. Bed would suit some but a little soft for us.

Anugraha (9/5): Beautiful hotel and facilities in the heart of the French Quarter - Excellent location one block from Bourbon st and walkable to all the sights but it’s an island of quiet in a building full of history. Not much to say here — we really loved the place. One thing to flag — the unit we were in was #306 — a lovely 2 bed townhouse — it was up two flights of winding stairs. This could be an issue for some guests and could have been better advertised at the time of booking. It’s a historic building with no elevators.
Sarah C. (10/5): A GEM OF A STAY - WORTH THE PRICE! - 1. STAFF: The staff were highly accommodating, polite, friendly and kind. They did a few things to accommodate our very early arrival and late leave due to the flights and the health status of my elderly parents. There was always a smile and hello whenever we saw them. 2. STYLE AND SIZE OF ROOMS: We got the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite. We absolutely loved the style and the size of the rooms. We had an "old American, colonial" vibe going on with the antique-looking wooden furnitures and huge poster bed in the master bedroom. The reception office looked amazing, all decorated for Mardi Gras and had a very positive, open, sunny vibe. 3. LOCATION: The home felt like it was "home" while at the same time, being only one street away from Bourbon St (Delphine St is amazing quiet and yet so close to Bourbon). 1. LACK OF LAUNDRY FACILITIES FOR GUESTS: Although someone who worked at the office sent me a text message through Booking.com that there was laundry facilities for guests, they confirmed, upon arrival that there was in fact no laundry facilities for guests. My suggestion is that if people are booking for more than 1 week, they should be allowed to have access to laundry facilities. 2. ARM CHAIRS : Although the tapestry on the arm chairs were very beautiful and "uniquely old", I believe that they can also be cleaned for there are stains on them.

Kinkead (10/5): Sanctuary in historic building with helpful staff, a hidden gem. - Grenoble House was a sanctuary. We stepped from hubbub of city into a welcoming and elegant lobby and then back to a quiet courtyard with hot tub and modest pool. Plenty of secluded outdoor space. Our room was like an apartment with kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom. Most mornings, we took our breakfast outside to eat. The staff members were warm and gracious, always helpful. This is a hidden gem, and will become our go to accommodation when visiting New Orleans. So close to street car transport, entertainment, art galleries, and restaurants. We are not Bourbon Street kind of folks, but it’s just a block away for those who are. We went to at least ten jazz, Cajun, and Blues venues while in residence. The City has a program of washing streets and sidewalk with lemon scented water early in morning. What an improvement! Liked everything.

Amanda (10/5): Lovely, quiet and safe location in the heart of the French Quarter - Beautiful and quiet apart-hotel on a street that runs just parallel to Bourbon Street - so great access to all the bars and restaurants and vibes, but without the noise. The moment we stepped into Grenoble House, we felt safe and welcome. Front desk staff were delightful, especially Michael and James, and were always helpful with tips and recommendations. The courtyard is also lovely, with spacious seating areas, a small (dipping) pool and a hot tub (actually hot). The apartment itself was clean and well-maintained, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We loved the self-service coffee machine and bottled water at the reception, and the coffee there became our daily cuppa. Overall, Grenoble House was a great base for us for our 5 days in NOLA and we really enjoyed our time there. The floorboards separating the apartments on the first and second floors (Apt 107 + 207) might be old and thus were quite creaky. Our first night, our neighbours above weren't aware and thus we could hear every step, keeping us awake for a good hour. But after speaking to them to resolve it, they really made efforts to tone down their footsteps, and thus it was better. Still, if you're a light sleeper, do take this into consideration and maybe ask for an upper floor apartment.

Kim (9/5): Great Hotel in the French Quarter - The pool was a bonus as the days were hot. The hotel offered complimentary water bottles and a coffee station, which was nice. The balcony off our bedroom was great for people watching as a lot of activities on the street below. The Manager Kenneth was just so lovely, he gave good recommendations and even went out especially to get some tea bags for me. He offered such great hospitality to us, and the young man at reception was also so great and respectful, very friendly. The location could not have been better. The apartment was self-contained and had everything you needed. The room was very large with a separate kitchen, lounge, bedroom, and bathroom. The location was fantastic, one block from Burboun St and just a short walk to cannal Street and 12 mins to market and square. It was very loud in the room from the noise below, no soundproofing in the room, however that is New Orleans, it is a party town, and the street below was a through street for traffic and people, all of which had loud music blaring out of vehicles and bikes. We got moved one night to the penthouse, as the plumbing was not working in the room and that room has soundproofing, if you prefer it quieter. The rooms require some upgrades, the bed was so high, I had to jump up, and I am tall, but they were very comfortable. The bedpost was in front of the TV. The bathroom was not very clean would be my only complaint and the blind was broken in parts, so people outside could see in, if standing by the basin/toilet in the bathroom. The older man at reception was not very friendly and even had to ask him to get up off his chair, to open the front door for us, as we were struggling to leave with our luggage. There are stairs with no lift, so if you have big luggage bags like us, it can be difficult to get our bags up and down the step flight of stairs.

Heather (8/5): - Location in the French Quarter was great a short walk to everything and glad we were little away from the noise of Bourbon Street. The reception was staffed 24hrs a day. We had many problems with the door code and it had to be reset nearly every day. The staff were helpful with this at all hours and provided a key as well when it played up. If there was a Washing machine & dryer it would of be better. The bedside lamps in the main bedroom were difficult to turn on & off so we just unplugged them to go to sleep which was a bit annoying.

Ich wurde am späten Nachmittag von dem Herren, der die Nachtschicht hat ( leider weis ich seinen Namen nicht ) sehr höflich , nett und aufmerksam begrüßt . Er hat mir alles gezeigt und seine Unterstützung angeboten, wenn ich Fragen haben sollte. Seine Empfehlung für ein gutes Fischlokal war sehr gut und auch jegliche weitere Information zu New Orleans. Ich kann besten Gewissens diese Unterkunft empfehlen . ./.

Gordon (10/5): An overlooked gem in The Quarter - We've been visiting New Orleans for Southern Decadence (Labor Day) for 25+ years. We've stayed all over, stayed at favorites that had to close due to death or economy. We had never heard of The Grenoble House. Somehow this year it fell into our search and we couldn't be more grateful. Safe, secure property. Close to everything in the Quarter plus street car lines. They have 17 rooms, all suites (that I know). Ours was considered a small room but it was bigger than the house I rented in The Quarter for a year. We kept. Always staffed. Free wi-fi. Complimentary coffee in room as well as water / coffee in lobby. Room(s) were clean and well apportioned (ok our unit needed more towel hooks). But OH, the shower! We expect another 20 Southern Decadence visits and hope that they can all be at The Grenoble House. Special note: ALL of the staff was wonderful to interact with. I need to bring special attention to Michael. He handled every question with care, concern and professionalism. The world needs more Michaels

A guest washing machine and dryer would be helpful. As would a small directory for nearest recommended laundromat (Suds dem Suds), grocery store (Rouses), pharmacy (Walgreens) and how to buy an RTA card (electronic online). Yes you can figure this stuff out using Google but when you're visiting from overseas or even out of state, it's easier to have local guidance than spend ages trawling on your phone. Also, please consider introducing basic recycling for guests.

Real conditioner for the shower amenities instead of "conditioning shampoo" (which absolutely does not condition) would be great. Also, the closet door was off track and didn't close.

It is an oasis in the heart of the French Quarter, within walking distance to all of the attractions in the Quarter yet is quiet and peaceful. Coming home to the swimming pool and quiet courtyard after a busy day was wonderful. The complementary cold, bottled water and good coffee in reception is a nice touch. The rooms are not serviced, and our suite was not equipped with a toilet brush or broom.

The coffee machine was great and it was nice to have complimentary good coffee rather than the slow-brew that so many diners offer. Most of the staff were excellent/happy/helpful, while others we're a little unexpected for such a lovely place. No laundry service. No room cleaning. Occasionally some noise from the street (but we were only 1 street back from Bourbon St, so it's to be expected)
