Guest Reviews
- Ethan (1/5): Traumatizing - Nature vibes There’s a poop in the swimming pool toilet, not clean and our shower plug would not drain as well during a night there’s a centipede in the bed while we’re sleeping. It went up on my leg while I’m sleeping.
- George (5/5): Passable -
- Frederic (10/5): Exceptional - This place is paradise on Earth and the team is perfect!
- Shane (4/5): It was very expensive - The staff were beautiful, lovely people The food was delicious It was way out of town. The road into the facilities was very very rough. We nearly didn't go in. The facilities are very run down and very unkept. The beard is very hard. There were stains on the sheet. There was big gaps in the doors living outside things crawling the room was full of mosquitoes
- Darren (2/5): Very poor -
- Dustin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paleriders (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (5/5): Dissapointing, didn't match the price. - The staff were friendly but spoke very little english. However they were very smiley and welcoming. Again, if the price wasn't so high I could understand but the price is way too high compared to what you get and the hotel is very run down. It is very quiet and everything old. Wifi was not good. Feels abandoned out there.
- Anonymous (3/5): Quiet, privacy, frequently check up lights and bathroom accessories. - Room good side but standard bed small Building good
- Shahzad (2/5): - Bad
- Loosian (8/5): Nice country side vibes, big clean pool, not many westerners get here, maybe a bit overpriced - Its a nice location, has a big pool, decently clean room. They have a really good kitchen and the food was particularly good here. I like walking, so I walked around their area, but there's nothing particularly beautiful to see, just the usual village landscape and a nice farm behind the property. They organized a tuk tuk tour for me on my second day, and that was ok, not something amazing, but i was driven around to a few nice places around the village. During my stay, there was a single person that spoke some english, so getting even basic questions answered when that person was out, was a challenge. Also, the hot water didn't really work in my room, they tried to fix it, but again because the english level was near zero, I gave up trying to explain how the hot water still didn't work. So i showered in cold water in a 50$/night room, but i survived. The staff suffers from foreigner anxiety, so they all jump out every time it looks like you need something, but they can't really speak english, so they just stare at you and don't know what to do exactly, which is a bit weird :)))
- Ollie (8/5): Very good -
- Manoj (7/5): nice location but service not so good..need improvements - Location and service value for money staff and food
- Andrew (8/5): Great size rooms, clean and comfortable, excellent manager - Great size rooms, clean and comfortable, good size pool on a hillside terrace. Friendly and very helpful manager. A little empty on the night we stayed made us feel a little remote.
- Helen (4/5): Never again - Was really substandard in every respect. Only stayed here because the Bamboo Inn wasn’t open and we had stayed at Memoria several years ago. Room doors not working, toilet blocking up and not fixed, housekeeping helping themselves to our food (opened a new packet of rice crackers and took a few!), inability to communicate with staff (no English). Two staff members did try. Will never stay here again.
- Thunny (10/5): - Very quite and very interesting place. Only swimming pool is a little far from where i stay a little of walking. Overall it was very nice place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Uusi, siisti iso betonibungalow, kylppäri taivasalla. Iso uima-allas. Ravintolassa hyvää ruokaa ja hyvä aamiainen.
- Max (2/5): Nice hotel complex ruined by mismanagement - Mismanagement and incompetent staff ruined our stay at this otherwise beautiful hotel. We had booked 3 nights in the eco lodge of this resort, expecting tranquility and proximity to nature.
When we arrived, the mosquito net was broken, there were no towels, no soap, no blanket (it get to about 18°C at night in February). Loud music was blasting from the pool which is used by any wealthy local who can afford a drink there. Subsequently we went back for dinner (at 7pm) and were promised some towels. After ordering dinner, we waited over an hour for the first lukewarm dish to arrive. It took another 10 minutes to organise pepper and salt.
After dinner, coming back to the eco lodge, there was still no blanket and no soap. Inside the mosquito net there were mosquitos – after reporting this to staff, we were "upgraded" to a standard hotel room.
Standard hotel room had a decent bed and bathroom. Unfortunately, there are no mosquito nets at the windows, meaning they had to remain closed. So we only heard the air conditioning all night.
Next day, a guide was unavailable. We went hiking by ourselves. As we came back, our room key had magically disappeared only to be rediscovered 30 minutes later. No apology was offered for that delay.
As we arrived at the room, the staff awaiting us confessed to us that they had broken the key, so we couldn't enter for another hour – again, we went back to the restaurant and got drinks (paid by us). Like that it continued until we left – 1 day early.
