Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Place was beautiful, 1 block from 5th avenue. They have parking which was great
- hector (10/5): - My second time in this hotel we like so much
Close to everything including beach restaurants and buses
- Javier (10/5): - Beautiful property and really convenient location for shopping, eating and pick up location. 10/10 would stay again
- Marco (10/5): - Nice place
- Juan (10/5): - Was nice!
- Veronica (8/5): - I would stay there again. Convenient location.
- George (8/5): - Staff was friendly and conveniently located.
- Jose (10/5): - Would like.to have more food options
- Tjeerdo (10/5): - Lovely classic Mexican hotel, home away from home!
- Vicent (6/5): - 😉
- christopher (2/5): - First: I asked the front desk staff to see the room prior to booking, but I was told none was available. I went ahead and booked because online it showed available rooms. Anyway, she finally decided to get off the phone and checked me in. Gave me my room number without informing me of WiFi or anything.
So here I am in the room, it smelled weird but initially thought nothing of it. Left to grab my bags from a nearby hotel and returned. The room smelled of chemicals that of bug spray. I was then assured by the front desk that no one sprayed the room.
Later, switched rooms from 305 to 310. About an hr later I saw a gentleman walking around with a bug spray canister on my floor with full respiratory on.
I do not recommend this hotel solely on the staff.
I will point out that the second lady was more helpful, but rigid rules of telling me I may not be able to change it the room had been used. Like it’s bug spray for crying out loud.
Anyway 2/10 do not recommend.
- Martin (4/5): - The hotel it’s in a very noisy area next to very loud night club, haft to call several re: tv not tuning on, they had to switch mini bar not cooling, no hand towel, overs all not a great experience
- Armando (10/5): - Nice convenient hotel in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Everything was very close by. From dining options to shopping and clubs. Just a block away from 5th avenue with its many attractions.
- walter (10/5): - Very nice area
- Jenna (4/5): Too loud and too hot. - Pros: Room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly. Good location to be close to the action.
Con’s: It’s like trying to sleep on the dance floor of a night club. Air conditioning is basically non existent. We were only there for 2 nights so didn’t make a fuss and not sure if it was just our room.
Would not return or recommend.
- Andriy (4/5): - This hotel is a no go for me for no fault of theirs. It's close to the pedestrian area and the beach, which is amazing for daytime. But at night the club next door plays heavy EDM so unless you go to bed after 3-4pm it make it unbearably noisey.
Great, clean, beautiful hotel. But I cannot recommend staying there unless for party people.
- Edel (10/5): - Great location and near shops and restaurants
- Beatriz (10/5): - Loved this stay and how clean everything was. Everything was nearby. Loved the loud music !!! My stay was everything.
- Tieh (6/5): Was good at one time changed - We normally stay here when traveling thru but this last time the room had mold on all lamp shades . The Bongo Gong nite club music kept me up all nite .
Staff is super no complaints. Clean up mold get new lamp shades. Water is very much needed they cut the coffee in room also . Not good .
- Tieh (4/5): Not as good as it was . - We asked for a quiet room however all nite heard music . This hotel try’sto be clean but lamp shade on all lamps have mold painted over dust . Should replace mold is bad to inhale .no more coffee in room or water bottles . Told its budget cuts .
- Tieh (8/5): Mix up but great service - Mix up with booking but they put us up at sister hotel and rode us there as well as dropped us at bus station to airport next day .
We book here when we travel thru Mexico frequently like the location and service .
It’s a bit older hotel but kept clean .
Friendly staff .
- Bernard (2/5): - very weak wi-fi, loud music at night...one clerk not very honest at front desk
- hector (8/5): - Excellent location
- Fortino (6/5): - The location was convenient for our plans the pool was excellent, the receptionist needs more training and take time to explain the functionality of the door key, remote control for TV as well for the temperature controller, and should do something about those dispatching the taxi service in front of the hotel prices too high for travelers or tourists.
- CLAUDIA (10/5): - This property is beautiful! The staff are great, the cleaning crew are amazing and the facilities are kept so clean and sanitized! The Suite we stayed was big and so much natural light! One thing I will say, if you are a light sleeper, don’t stay here. There is a club next-door that don’t turn off onto 2:45 AM but other than that I will stay here again and I will recommend this hotel to everyone that asks
- Frances (6/5): - We actually had a few stops. A couple of days in Xcaret, a couple of days in Bacalar and we needed one night before our flight and that’s how we ended up in La Hacienda del Caribe. Maybe cuz is in el centro but we walked in the first thing you saw was the pool, not one more person fit it just look filthy. The best thing about our room was the air conditioner. Is an old hotel so if you’re going to be out and about then is okay for the price.
- Isabel (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Tonya (4/5): - It’s a 2 stars and not a 4 stars hotel as rated in the review. I was sent to rate the hotel before I even checked in, odd. The check in process was simple. As soon as I walked into the room, it looked old I just wanted to leave. The room has a horrific smell. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. I stayed for one night n checked out early the next day. Wouldn’t recommended.
- Norma (10/5): - Our 3-4 stay here each time it’s very good service . Clean rooms tho a bit older hotel they keep it clean .
We were upgraded to a very nice suite which I wished we had more time to enjoy . Had 2 balconies huge room with huge bathroom. The check in clerk forgot his name was very professional and kind . Will continue to stay here in future.
- Norma J (8/5): No WiFi! No help offer just nope no WiFi - Thr lady at front desk was super helpful , room wasn’t ready it was raining and busy .She took our luggage to office said half hr room ready and we went to get a bite to eat.
Returned room was ready .
My only complaint is zero WiFi.
I asked the young mand as the sweet lady was gone.
He said no WiFi it happens ALOT !
I asked can’t you ck it and reboot router - nope !
People need WiFi to confirm flights etc this needs urgent attention.
Otherwise very nice hotel.
- Norma J (10/5): No hot water . - Was checked in after going to the other hotel very confused because both have similar name web page is same . This bigger hotel has no hot water and more noise at night then the smaller one on 5 th . I like the smaller cleaner has hot water .
- dariyoush (4/5): - To much noise. You can't sleep before 2am. Never again.
- Oscar (6/5): - Service was excellent. The bad part was that they won't let you enjoy heaving a beer by the pool. The reason coming to Cancun is relaxing and enjoying a beer by the pool.
- April (10/5): - I have had the pleasure of staying twice at this wonderfully characteristic little hotel. I love the fact that it is so very close to every convenience that you might need, being 5th Ave or the beach. The staff is always been exceptionally kind and helpful and I love that the character of the hotel has such beauty in it. I will happily stay at this hotel anytime that I am in Playa if possible. The first time I stayed here inn2020, there was an issue with no hot water for the entire week but I wasn’t bothered by it as it was so hot outside, the cool water was refreshing. My most recent stay in February 2024 there was hot water all week. The Wi-Fi is a bit spotty but that’s safe to say anywhere. I fully recommend this beautiful little hotel. ☀️🥰
- Patricia (4/5): - No one was working counter when we arrived . Was told he was at the other hotel. We had to wait over 30 minutes to check in. Not happy!
- Jimena (2/5): Save your momey - The hotel room was gross.
Bed was very hard, pillows are old and stinky.
Bathroom full of mold
- angel (6/5): - The hotel structure is very nice, the pool is small always full, people all ways drinking alcohol and noise, not recommend for family,
The front desk personnel need to receive a customer service training, while I walked in with my family to the front desk, the individual who was behind the desk ignored us when I told him that we have a reservation for the first time, i told him again that we have a reservation theme he responded with attitude and asked my name them he replied his payment and I asked for my total then he replied back and told me your should know bcz you did your reservation via Expedia, next time do it with us directly and show me a flier with phone numbers,
When i pay him with dollars he told me that he doesn’t havre $4 dollars change, I replied back and told him to bring the change to my room,
Something that never happened,
Before I walked in to my room to read me a few rules of the hotel and one of that was not to drink in the pool, and also he told me that we only allowed to have two towels then I asked him since we were 4 family members in the room we required two more , them he made me to sign a weaver for the extra towels,
I understand hotel rules and regulations and we always follow it, but this time this person made me filling like a thief at front of my family,
Also I asked them to not go inside my room for cleaning and they went through any way even that I asked to their supervisor .
- Antonio (8/5): - Bonito hotel limpio serca Dela 5 Avenida.
- Natalia (10/5): - Wifi in the room wasn't strong. Room was on second floor with balcony and we really liked it.
- Irak Carmona (6/5): - I liked the look of the place. However the tub was rusty and the shower head was broken. In addition sleeping in the bed was like sleeping on a rock and the towels were not replaced every day as promised.
- Victor Alaniz (6/5): - I didn’t like it not to friendly
- Emma (6/5): - The room was very spacious, clean and the location of the hotel was perfect. The bad unfortunately..the noise was so loud from the clubs, bars, restaurants and ppl around it. So if you are a person who cannot knock out with noise DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Thankfully for us we can fall asleep with noise so it wasn’t a issue but the noise was very obvious so if you are a light sleeper don’t do it. The pool was cute we did enjoy it and definitely enjoyed that it was walking distance to everything.
- Fernando (4/5): - Poor maintenance, noisy, uncomfortable bed.
- joy (2/5): Worst night ever -
There was night club music going on until 3am that you could CLEARLY hear in your room. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get any sleep what so ever. The pool was also out of service. We checked out the next morning, 3 days early. We would never stay there again.
- Michael (8/5): - It was what we expected and actually nicer, but you do need to have reasonable expectations. We needed clean, and a bed … both were accomplished and the property has real charm and a lovely pool and is close to everything.
There was no air conditioning, our ceiling fan made a loud noise which was not a huge issue as the nearby club dance tunes was loud enough we literally had to talk “loud” to hear each other. We did anticipate this and still felt the price for what we received was a good value.
- Marlen (6/5): - The location is perfect, but the cleaning lady stole at least 1000 pesos from my room. And fun 1 bedbug in my daughter bed.
- Tanya (8/5): - Within walking distance to everything that we needed. Our room was nice, although a little loud at night but that is to be expected with where it is located. Nice pool, wifi was a little slow but worked ok for us. Lots of shopping and restaurants within a block and only 2 blocks to the beach.
- Angie (8/5): - Pros:
Great location close to beach and 5th Ave. Anything you would need is in walking distance.
Staff is friendly
Clean
Great rates
Cons:
Not enough chairs or towels for pool
Very noisy at night
- ROBERT (8/5): Nice local hotel. - A nice tourist class hotel. Clean, nice pool, free parking (must leave key), great location. Terrace was a bit dirty and room safe was broken otherwise nice experience.
- Shelley (10/5): - This is a beatiful hotel with great amenities! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The property was extremely clean and well maintained. Our room was extremely clean and spacious! The beds were comfy, but could use better pillows. The water pressure in the shower was the best I've ever had in my life! The restaurant downstairs was also excellent! We absolutely appreciated the ability to store our luggage safely with the front desk as we arrived well before check-in time, as well as use the amenities such as the bathroom and pool. We were also able to store our luggage again after we checked out, as we had a late flight departure. I would definitely stay here again!
- Judith (10/5): - Everyone at the front desk was very courteous. There were several rooms available at my check in so the young man at the front desk took the time to show me a few of the rooms and let me make a choice. I really appreciated that as I had never stayed at the Hacienda. I loved my room and will definitely return. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I also loved the location of this hotel.
- Jin (10/5): Excellent Everything. - This is very good hotel, it is hidden jam in the crowded hotel area, I recommend to everyone. When you enter the hotel, the structure is beautiful, swimming pool is in the middle. There is roof top. Room is huge, much bigger than the similar hotel we stayed before. Room is super clean, new renovated bathroom. Furniture is old style but good quality. We like it so much. Bed is comfortable. Overall we feel like this is the most valuable stay in my 15 days trip.
- Joseph (6/5): - They have a great pool. The sky deck has a lot of potential but is not in use. There was night clubs which kept you up until 3:00am. I can't recommend do to the noise.
- Greg (10/5): - Awesome hotel. Small but perfect in the heart of Playa
- Ramón (10/5): - Excelente servicio durante la estancia.
Gracias.
- Louis-philippe (8/5): - The bed are just to hard
- Michael (4/5): - Very nice luxury hotel but despite of hight costs they do not provide water or coffee - not even for sale. Only in the very first night they gave us a trop of water.
- Richard (10/5): Great stay!!! - Had a very enjoyable stay and.a.great.price.too. will defintely use them again next trip.
- Monica (10/5): - Lovely property. Friendly staff. Perfect location. I would gladly stay her again.
- Monyka (6/5): Front desk service - Place looks super charming, good location but they only give you one key and you can’t leave the AC on without one. I stayed at the end of June when the temperatures are extremely high and the room was extremely toasty. I asked for a second one because we were 4 people doing different activities. They said they couldn’t do that since the system didn’t allow it? Most places give you 2 keys.
After my book I reached out for an invoice for my stay and the customer service at the front desk refused to provide this information.
I doubt I would stay again here.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The grounds and pool area were very nice. The bedrooms were pretty outdated though. The bedding was old and worn but seemed clean and. The beds were hard as a rock!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bueno, bonito y barato - Bueno, bonito y barato. Centrico, limpio y buena atencion. Ps.
Me volvería a quedar ahí.
- Michael (10/5): - I’ve stayed there before I’ll stay there again. The location is great the service is great. We requested and got a room with a balcony facing the pool. It was very nice very comfortable.
- Hector (10/5): - Nice place to stay and affordable
- Alexey (10/5): - Excellent value for the money. Close to the beach, shops, Walmart, entertainment, etc. Will book again if I find myself in Playa del Carmen.
- Hans A. (4/5): Very nad experience - The quality of the Internet is not acceptable. I suppose I had the worst Internet ever. Impossible to book our bus tickets, or make online check-in for the flights of my family, because I got permanently disconnected or the pages stuck. In the end I had to go to the bus terminal, in order to book our tickets. - Next: Breakfast was supposed to be included in the room rate for 2 adults and one kid. We were supposed to get tickets for the breakfast at check-in, which we did not. So the first morning sitting at breakfast, the waiter asked us for the tickets. So I had to get up again and go to the reception and ask for the tickets. The receptionist - very unfriendly - told me, that we qualified only for 2 breakfasts per day, which I denied, but he insisted and what ever I explained to him - he refused to accept a 3rd breakfast for our party. It was a bad discussion and I finally had enough and left with just 2 tickets. We made an order from the a la carte menu for the 7 year-old, knowing, that we had to pay for it. The moment we received our breakfast, the receptionist showed up, telling me, that he was wrong, and we were supposed to get 3 breakfasts - I didn't want to talk to him anymore, being so rude before, but he did not even want to accept this and wanted to talk. This person was so un-professional! Plus: You must sign for several things (like towels, remote control and more) but I had to ask 5 times to finally get the towels, or twice for the remote control.
- Brian (8/5): - Property is really showing its age although the staff does a great job at keeping it tidy and clean. We have stayed here before and have said before, they need an ice machine, i got frustrated having to buy a bag of ice just to cool down a drink, use a few cubes then watch the rest melt.
- herschel (10/5): - Great location
- Aranza (8/5): - The pool area is very pretty. Staff very friendly. Comfortable but the place is near to the party street and you can hear music all night. If you are sensitive to sounds during the night, probably not the best option
- Angela (10/5): - Beautiful property with very spacious room. Upon check in, I was offered the choice for a quieter room, or one I was told would be more noisy. This hotel is near a lot of entertainment, so it does get noisy at night, even in the quieter room. Ear plugs solved that problem,
So I suggest bringing some along.
Otherwise, the property has stable wifi, comfortable beds, & great service. I’m a regular in Playa Del Carmen, & my usual hotel wasn’t accepting reservations for my stay dates. This one worked out perfectly fine & will continue to be my backup.
- Christian (10/5): - Excellent location. Very nice staff
- Michele (8/5): - Need new pillows and date the refrigerators so it can keep water cold but not bad close to it all
- Shawn (10/5): - The staff the building design
- Jennifer (10/5): - Amazing hotel service! It was our second time staying and they went above and beyond to show us a great experience. They even decorated my room for my birthday! Very pleased with the entire staff.
- Joseph (6/5): Close the pool - There comes a time at night that they need to stop the party at the pool.
- paul (4/5): - Internet sucks,t.v. did not work. I have stayed there many times. Will not again!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, friendly staff.
- Daniel (10/5): Regular Stop - No one at the front desk when we arrived at around midnight. We had about a 10 minute wait to check in. We stay here a few times a year , everthing is usually fine for the price, good central location, limited parking if you are driving , staff is always friendly and helpful, beds are a little stiff but you can get a mattress pad that helps greatly. Would we stay again? Of course
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convinience over all, next to all good things
- Verified traveler (6/5): Would choose somewhere else next time - arrived to a dirty room... told the front attendant and said it was dirty and the door was open. double checked to see if I was right because it was dark inside. There was trash everywhere and pee in the toilet. Clearly haven’t been cleaned yet. got a new room after that but it’s unfortunate I had to go in there twice and tell them it was dirty. The new room was clean though, and they held my luggage after I checked out.
- Christopher (6/5): Please Read Before Booking!!! - I wanted a hotel close to the Ocean….not to smell the Ocean when I walk in the room. I hated that the AC could only be on if I was in the room. After walking around Hot and Humid Mexico I want to walk into a cold room. At the end of the day my fiancé and I wanted to cool off at the pool but guess what Pool closes at 8PM. Like Seriously…..Breakfast extremely disappointing. I don’t understand the reason they post pictures of delicious looking omelettes when in reality all breakfast includes is bread and coffee…..So disappointing they really false advertise breakfast. Good thing we where only in our rooms at night to sleep in….Oh and I called in a day before asking if I could get an early check in once I showed up they said I couldn’t but if I paid them a “fee” I could check in early… Positives is the room was clean and was in the Center of so many things to do
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little hotel. Best location in town.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The water had such a horrible smell. We had to buy eater to clean our teeth.
- Juile (10/5): Great Hotel in the Heart of Town. - The Hacienda Real del Caribe is a quaint hotel with lots of personality in the perfect location. The rooms are comfortable. The bathrooms are huge. Most importantly the AC in the room is so cold! We loved our stay here and would book again without question.
- Oscar (10/5): Beautiful place to stay. - A wonderful place to stay. Block away from La Quinta Avenida. Clean, quiet and excellent price. I'll come back again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice rooms huge bathroom, excellent location close to the main nightclub
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Everything is lake was good.
- Julissa (10/5): - Very clean hotel, friendly staff, and perfect location! The AC in our room didn’t work, so I reported the problem, and within 15 mins a employee was there to check it out.
- Jose (10/5): Stay and have fun - Nice place nice coustumer service and delicious breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location Is Good..Bath Tub was not clean..they came to do the room pretty late around 5 p.m...I was resting and did not want to leave the room at the time..checking out was not friendly..
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Mucho ruido !!
- jessica (10/5): - It is a nice well maintained and clean. Be aware that if you have difficulty sleeping due to noise, then this hotel may not be right for you. There's a club behind this hotel.
