Robbyn (10/5): Really enjoyed it! Would stay again. Great for the pup. She conquered her fear of stairs here :) - Location was beautiful, and I loved how easy and clean the kitchen area was. The available bread and bananas was such a nice touch! Felt more like a true BNB. Our next door neighbors were audible when speaking, but I know it’s an old place and that may just be what comes with that. Also, there were some shelves in our room that were dusty, maybe some less accessible areas of the room dont seem to get cleaned regularly.

Christine (10/5): Amazing stay with my kids - We loved that there was a pool table and that the food in the kitchen was available to eat at no extra cost. Great for having children with me. We happened to be the only people staying that night so that might be part of why we liked it so much. We could not get the TV to connect to the internet, so we could not watch a movie. I was able to get my computer to connect to the wifi, so I know that I had the password right.

Susan (9/5): Like staying at a mountain lodge. - Beautiful property with lovely views. Fireplace with logs, ready to go. Fully equipped kitchen with snacks and coffee. It was very clean and well maintained. There was a great little heater. Small things: only a couple hooks for hanging things. Lighting in the room was either too strong or not quite enough. We could easily hear all the conversation and noise from the neighboring rooms.

DONNA (9/5): Perfect getaway destination - My sister and I loved the views and the beautifully furnished room and especially the common areas. Spacious vaulted ceiling living room with rock and panelled walls, and the well-stocked kitchen were ours alone that one Monday. I'd love to come back with a group of friends to relax away from urban stress! Birds were the perfect breakfast entertainment and the dark sky night was filled with stars. Broken crank on only Harmony room window with a screen.

It is not possible to get to the lodge without a car, and it's very hard to get to Julian town from it. Some arrangements for guests without cars (if you could hook guests up with a local cab service, or arrange a free shuttle to and from Julian and other local attractions) would be great.

Lisa (3/5): Disappointed and left longing for better customer service. - View on the hill was nice. Kitchen amenities/food/snacks were very good. Toilet in the Serenity room wasn't just old but VERY loud and EVERYTIME we flushed we worried it disrupted other guests' peace AND it took a really long time to refill, also was a VERY loud process, especially at night. The mattress was really hard and could benefit from a mattress pad to make the bed MORE comfortable. ***The worst part was when a couple male and female entered the lodge at 10:45 pm and began cheering, yelling and laughing at a high volume while playing pool. The balls smacked into one another for almost 1 hour which was well outside the quiet hours of 9 pm. I text the Tucker Peak lodge caretaker 2x and called 1x pleading for her to stop the noise and intervene but I did not receive ANY response, instead I received a text the next day! My husband and I were woken up abruptly and not able to fall back asleep till 12 midnight 😖 The next day when I received a response, it basically stated that Tucker peak has made ample effort to inform guests of the rules. I felt like I was being punished for honoring the rules Instead of the site manager taking an active role and addressing the concern in person at that moment with the guests who were not following the rules. This can't be the only incident where guests rudely disobeyed the rules, causing others to be woken up, upset an unhappy because of their loud and inconsiderate behavior. I feel the Tucker peak lodge should have protocol designed around what to do If this happens, which I imagine happens more than they want. Therefore, somebody who's on-site should be willing and able at whatever time it is to go into the main lodge and correct the inappropriate guests, isn't that what a site manager does? While it may not be fair to the site manager, It's certainly is not fair to the paying guests, either!

Felt a bit like dorm quarters where you share space, except most people don't want to do this unless you rent the whole house. The location to Julian was great, except many attractions were closed. wine tasting that was open in town was $16.00 per glass. The apple pie was great in town! Visit this town only during apple season! The property was rundown. It smelled like pet urine upon entry. Our room's smell was sprayed, so first night was ok. The second night it smelled like mildew. The pocket door to the bathroom was installed wrong and it scraped so you had to muscle it open.

Debra (10/5): - We loved this pet friendly option for near Julian, what a great deck with a fabulous view- we never wanted to leave it. Appreciated the food for breakfast and use of the kitchen. Cute little kitties were fun to watch outside. We will gladly tell others about Tucker Peak Lodge.
Kathryn (8/5): It was a good experience overall. - The seclusion of the location, friendly staff and clean. The air conditioner kept turning on and off at short intervals through out the night keeping me awake.
Salette (8/5): - Beautiful property with a fabulous view. The mattress was a little too soft for my liking, the towels were somewhat ragged, and the flooring can use some repair. However, the lodge itself is clean and comfortable. I would recommend for a weekend getaway.

Ileana (10/5): - This property sits at the edge on a hill, the views are great. Its beautiful, quiet, very clean and very well stocked with all the necessities, from plenty of towels in the rooms to soups, creamer and coffee in the kitchen. They have a variety of games for the family in the common areas as well as a nice pool table and a great fireplace. Only thing that was a bit uncomfortable for me was the placement of the window unit in our room, it's right by the bed due to where the window sits, it was pretty loud at night and kinda kept me up, updating them to mini splits would be heaven! Overall it was a really nice stay. Would love to come back!
Debra (10/5): - This is a very clean and peaceful lodge. It has lots of amenities like spices, cookware, ice machine and large gathering areas. The balcony and patio area is fantastic for sitting outside enjoying the view and sounds of nature.
Shannon (8/5): We greatly enjoyed the location, and the lodge was homey and comfortable. - The location was wonderful, we enjoyed the quiet and the beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable. The common areas were well equipped and inviting. One of the prompts asked what we thought of the breakfast. Well, we received no instructions regarding breakfast and did not know what was available to us and what belonged to other people, other than coffee, oatmeal, bread and eggs. We had coffee and that was all. I was looking forward to using the jacuzzi tub at the end of the day and was unable as it took a very long time to fill to a level above the jets. I finally got in when the water level was just above the jets but when I turned them on the water level dropped and therefore the jets stopped working. I gave up and was disappointed.
Tyler (10/5): - The property was great. In a good location, close enough to town, but far enough away for a quiet mountain feel. The only thing I would have enjoyed was a fire pit outside to enjoy. Other than that, the property, owners, and experience were excellent.

Steve (9/5): Well worth the trip! - The views are fantastic! The room was very spacious and just adorable! This would be a great place to have several couples stay for awhile. Very private; only has 6 rooms and a big kitchen and living area. The parking was a problem. I only saw 3 spaces and those were tight.

Katherine (10/5): Surprised by amenities! - We were pleasantly surprised by the lodge! It was such a lovely experience. There is a kitchen available for guests to use so we made hot chocolate and coffee they provided. There is a common living room with games, a communal TV and a pool table. It’s like a cross between a vacation rental, a grown up hostel and a hotel. We loved our stay!

The weather was very cooperative with great showers of Snow - My Wife and two Sisters really enjoyed our stay because of the Location of the property up in the mountains. Very clean and equipped with what we needed. We couldn’t see or find anything we didn’t like.
annasL4026IP (10/5): Great place for a getaway - I stayed in the Mountain View room with my dog and had the most relaxing weekend ever. The lodge is tucked away on Pine Hill but close enough to the bustle of downtown Julian. Taking time off for an out of town two week vacation is tough to do, not to mention expensive, so a weekend in Julian at this place was an excellent alternative. The giant kitchen had everything I needed plus a bonus of eggs, milk, oatmeal, and snacks. Very well equipped! I didn't need a single extra pot or pan or spoon, etc. Amazing views from my room, the deck, the living room...everywhere. I loved the self check-in/out, no need to wait in line at a desk and complete freedom to check in anytime after 4pm without fear of losing the reservation at a certain time. A little way to the south I found a great place to hike with my dog and a little further west a cluster of places to eat, including an amazing bakery. Great location, very cute old timey deco, and did I mention the views?!

No one else had booked the other rooms so we had the whole place to ourselves. It was great to have games to play but they are all missing pieces.

Breakfast options were nice and access to the kitchen was awesome! Walls were fairly thin and we could hear a lot from other folks. Pool sticks needed new tips, needed new batteries in remote for downstairs tv, and the fish tank needed attention (ie cleaning, fresh water, and probably should be moved so folks don't hit it with their pool sticks when they play).
