Guest Reviews
- Honeysuckle2452 (10/5): Beautiful villa in Amed đ©” đŽ đ - Gorgeous villa in amed right on lipah beach . đïž love the open air bath room and beach view . We came here to snorkel and this location and Villa were perfect
- bent (8/5): - Quiet and close to beach
- Nerrida (6/5): - The property has such potential. The staff are very obliquing but the type of cleaning is not hygienic. The same dirty mop is used without rinsing in every hut as is the same cleaning wag. The lawns and gardens are immaculate as is the pool.
- 628grahamg (10/5): More of a thankyou than a review - Just wanted to say thankyou to Coral View for their kindness in making our last minute change of plans easy for us, and only charging us for the 1 night, rather than the planned 3 night stay. Grateful also to Numan from the beach guys, for making the turtle swim possible. Top guys, please support if you can.
- Warren (8/5): - Great place 100 metres to lipah beach.Good restaurant,friendly staff
- Brad (8/5): - Ecellent location and food was superb. Staff frendly and helpful.
- saraht256 (10/5): A slice of paradise - Beautiful beach front resort, love the beach front suites. We squeezed 3 kids under the mosquito netting utilising a roll out bed and there was not a mosquito to be found. Snorkeling was superb, massages from Madie and other ladies on loungers at beach front amazing, manager delightful, junkung trip great and helped us locate the turtles. Pool refreshing and lovely, outdoor bathrooms huge. Breakfast and meals at restaurant delicious. Grounds so well maintained. Staff so kind and welcoming.

- Carolyn (10/5): - Stayed here last year & liked the cottages & restaurant so we returned this year. Staff at restaurant & house keeper are lovely. Cottages clean, food great & right on the best beach for snorkelling.
We saw 2 large turtles & many coloured fish & huge coral around the coral garden not far off shore.
- SandraH5952 (10/5): Coral View Villas- beachfront comfort - I love CVV, this was my second stay here. I chose the villa closest the gate to the beach and was not disappointed. The resort itself is lovely and comfortable, beautifully kept gardens and spacious rooms. Perfect place for lounging about on the porch, in the ocean, or in the pool. Swings for the kids, good food, nice bar.
The location is amazing (absolute beachfront with a view of Lombok) and the big bonus is the local fishing guys who have hereditary rights to use the beach and pull their tiny outrigger boats "jukung" up on the beach right outside the resort., and, they told me, in case of a cyclone, in the garden of the resort itself. They fish at dawn every day, and for a small fee will happily take you along to fish or to watch, and will also take you to fabulous coral reef snorkelling or diving spots by boat or "by swim" . They are all mostly family with each other, are exceptionally courteous and helpful, can speak a bunch of languages, and will keep you safe at sea. They care a lot about the environment and spend a lot of time cleaning up the endless tide of plastic rubbish that flows in on the tides after the rains.
We caught fish most days, snorkelled for most of every day and got to kind of be included in local stuff in the gracious manner that all Balinese welcome their visitors. There is dive shop/school right next door and a restaurant on the beachfront of the resort. Easy place to hang out for a short or long stay, and a great place to be with family, friends or on your own. There is a Hindu temple on the beach right next door so some days you will hear and see ceremonies as they unfold.
- 635pennym (8/5): Coral view amed - First impressions looked good, arrived at the bungalow walking distance of the pool.
Room was clean, and the bedding looked OK. I found a few bugs on the bed, bathroom was out side fine in the day, but not at night as mosquitoes were about.
Beach was within walking distance, and the sea was warm, great snorkelling
Gardens were kept very clean and had cameras all around.
Food in the restaurant was good.
No robes or slippers in the room.
Had a safe deposit box but not screwed down.
- r0sdianam (8/5): Fantastic hotel with easy access to snorkeling point. - Garden View room is much better than Deluxe room. Need to renew towels as the old ones are very rough (not soft) and looks old. You also need to renew handheld hygiene sprayer in room 23. Room 35 is fine.
I love you use glass bottle for water and not disposable plastic one. Location is fantastic. We stayed here 22 years ago. Garden is gorgeous! Pool is a bit too warm. Maybe need to make it salt pool instead of chlorine one. Breakfast is ok.
- Happiness259408 (8/5): Hotel upgrade needed - We stayed here 10 years ago, and not much has changed with the rooms from back then. To the owners, the rooms need updating to reflect your nightly price, I would suggest the traditional doors be replaced, as they let in the mozzies. The safe needs replacing, as they are very old, and didnât seem to work in our room (28). Some flannels in the bathroom would be a nice addition, along with a hair dryer. The beach towels we had were faded & frayed. Overall a bit of a freshen up would make the difference and then the price per night would be more suited. But at $140 (AUD) was a tad high in my opinion. Although was able to secure at $100(AUD) on booking.com.
That said, the hotel is well located, amazing gardens & pool. Staff are very helpful, and friendly. A good stay again
- mudskippa (8/5): Ideal location for snorkelling - We really enjoyed staying here. We got a smaller villa and loved the mosquito netting around the comfortable bed. It was very necessary though as there was almost no way to keep mozzies out due to cracks around the doors. There was an outdoor bathroom too, which was fine except at 4am when an animal would start climbing on the roof. It was so loud it sounded like it was in the room, and it would wake me up and Iâd need to go to the toilet but was too scared to go out there in case something jumped on me from the roof. The room also had a small fridge and very limited PowerPoints. So, why am I giving it 4 stars? Because the bed was comfortable, it was dated and everything but it was fine, the attached restaurant was fine, the staff were pleasant and quick to assist and the location was ideal. I wanted to snorkel from the beach, and you can do that here to your hearts content. I loved it here for that reason. Also, there are some nice warangs nearby. So yes, Iâd happily stay here again but maybe bring ear plugs to not hear the nocturnal visitors.
- shellj0 (8/5): Lovely relaxing holiday far from the crowds - Coral view villas was just what we needed to unwind and have a lovely, relaxed holiday. We didn't want to be around crowds, night clubs and pubs and were very happy with our stay in Amed. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the fresh watermelon juice and local cuisine for breaky with ocean view was a great way to start the day. The Garden villa was clean, comfortable and very spacious. The outdoor bathroom was an added treat. A daily massage on the day beds on the balcony was another highlight of the day, not to mention a daily snorkel right at our doorstop. Beautiful coral, fish and amazing turtles! Plenty of fishing boats on the beach to haggle a price for a morning on the water for fishing and snorkel at the outer reefs, the underwater temple and garden are beautiful snorkel spots. We didn't venture far along Amed beach because we had all we needed within a short distance of the hotel; the beer was cold, good Wi-Fi; we ate lovely meals at the hotel restaurant and also at local warungs , all within walking distance. Really enjoyed shopping at peduli alam - a little shop full of recycled products. Booked transport to the airport through the hotel and Clancy our driver was great. The pool and garden surrounds were beautifully maintained. The local roosters can be vocal at all hours but after the first day we got used to their calls. overall, a lovely place to unwind and relax and we will definitely return to Coral view villas.
- Trek505112 (8/5): A very chilled hotel set in lovely grounds with access to the beach - The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and leads onto the beach. The restaurant overlooks the beach and whilst we didnât eat dinner we did sample the banana pancakes at breakfast which were great. Those wanting more options for breakfast can try the PeoplePoint Cafe across the road which does great coffees. The rooms are pretty basic but have a nice terrace with loungers. Mosquitoes were a bit of an issue in the rooms as the doors donât fit snugly but the hotel provide mosquito nets around the beds and plug in mosquito deterrents. I loved the partially alfresco bathrooms but the kids were scared to use it a night particularly in light of the warnings about the Asian Palm Civet living in the grounds. Itâs a pretty chilled place to base yourself when visiting Amed and there are a number of nice restaurants nearby.
- Marie-Dominique (10/5): Coral Views Villas right on the beach - We loved our stay in Coral Views Vilas right on the beach with amazing snorkelling right in front of the property..and we saw 1 of the 3 turtles living less than 100 meters from the shore. The villas are spacious with an authentic Balinese character and we loved the pool too. Beautiful and well kept tropical gardens and it was great to watch the fishing boats landing on the beach in the morning with their catch. Amazing location and great value.. I highly recommend this resort.

- jan (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. The room was really good but especially the premises are really beautiful and it is an additional plus that it is so close to the sea.
- Karen (10/5): A piece of paradise in Lipah - What a treasure! We loved our stay so muchâŠitâs just beautiful. The position on the volcanic sand beach is perfect for snorkeling, the resturant Mahi Mahi had such a great Cuisine and coffee!!! Gardens are the best in Bali with a glorious pool. Rooms spacious, secure and the open bathroom is gorgeous! Thankyou to all the staff!
- SET59 (6/5): Traditional Beachside Property - Lovely gardens and traditional style Balinese bungalows. It is on Lipah beach and there is really good snorkelling and a couple of resident turtles. It has a nice pool with sun lounges. There are some good warungs and bars within walking distance.
We stayed in a Garden Suite. It is a large room with big outdoor bathroom.
The downside is the rooms were not cared for properly. They are tired, dusty and not cleaned properly. The sliding glass doors to the bathroom were filthy and that was the first thing I saw when I walked in. Cobwebs on the walks, dust in the corners.
Shower not draining properly and needs a scrub as do the floors. It is a shame because overall it is a lovely property in a great location with friendly staff.
- hadodi (8/5): Just as always - great! - Unfortunately I can not write every month, because not allowed on Tripavisor. So letâs do it quarterly. As always we were very satisfied with this accommodation. Clean, friendly staff, very good food. I'm recommend the cordon bleu or pizza seafood. Only the wlan could be better and a TV in the room would be great.
- Lisa (10/5): - Very chill, very friendly and great snorkeling location
- leslibell (10/5): Perfect in every way! - Perfect in every way! Beautiful clean comfortable little bungalow rooms. Stunning gardens, great restaurant on the beach. The food was delicious, yummy breakfast included. Right on a great snorkling beach. I donât have a single complaint- loved it here!
- Julie (8/5): - I loved the place and it was beautiful. I was quite unhappy with the massage therapist... I had a great massage with her and pre-paid her for a friend to have one-hour. I accidentally left my fit bit at the massage table. When I went back to get it the manager led me to her down at the water... I discovered she sent someone else to do the massage for my friend, and that woman had my fit bit in her purse. Bait and switch - I feel like the 2nd massage person was planning to take my watch, my friend was very disappointed with the massage and cut it short and the therapist I paid (and tipped handsomely) never came clean... very disappointing !!!
- nyssab2018 (8/5): Relaxing beach front villa - -Beach front black sand, not much beach and no sun chairs on the sand
-Twin room is spacious but a little tired could use an update
-Doors have gaps so mozzies can get in but they provide a curtain around the beds and the linen is clean
-Large bathroom partly outdoors with shampoo, conditioner and body wash
-Little terrace with table, chairs and sun loungers
-Towels are well used and threadbare but clean
-Limited choices at the restaurant fresh fish was nice but the vegetables where a bit weird
-Frogs jumping around at night
-you get bottled water and then free refills at the restaurant to save on one use plastics
-key is challenging to lock and unlock the door
-only one wall plug in the room
- mcliddy (10/5): As good as promised. - I donât usually write reviews but was prompted to do so by the recent 1 star review by Live for Holidays. Donât know where she stayed but our experience was nothing like her supposed experience. Nor do other reviews suggest her review is in any way accurate. This is not a 5 star resort nor does it claim to be. It is made up of low key but very comfortable bungalows on the beach. We had no issue with cleanliness, hygiene , mosquitoes, wifi, hot water nor the quality of the breakfast. We also had stunning snorkelling experiences including swimming with a turtle right off the beach. So the weather and big waves are the responsibility of the resort?? Really!
As for the hawkers, a polite no thank you was all that was required, but actually taking a trip with one of the boats was an awesome experience so maybe they should have tried it. As for âharassingâ⊠perhaps consider the fact that these people are just trying to make a living in the best way they know.
We had an awesome stay at Coral View Villas and wouldnât hesitate In recommending it. Suggest Live for Holidays sticks to Club Med.
- Sherry (10/5): - We stayed here for our last 2 nights in Bali and it was such a gem of a place! We hadn't pre-booked our trip so found this place the night before we were traveling from Ubud to Amed. The expedia ratings were good and it seemed close to the snorkeling locations we wanted to visit. Check in was quick and east. We had a private villa with a walking path right to the beach with a perfect snorkeling spot. We watched the sunrise over the ocean each morning. The buffet breakfast was very tasty (the coffee and banana pancakes were my favorite!) and had a water fill station in the restaurant and in the lobby. The restaurant is right on the beach and we watched the fishing boats come in each morning while having breakfast. The dinner options were many and they had the best noodles (goreng) of all the places we went during out week in Bali. LOVED the open air bathroom and the visits by the little geckos. The gardens and pool were gorgeous and well maintained. This was the perfect place to end our week of adventures in Bali!
- Rene (10/5): Fantastische locatie - Fantastische locatie. Voor de derde keer hier geweest. Mooi snorkelen voor de deur. Mooie omgeving.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I think your PC environmental stuff should be toned down...keep your political biased out of this!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Honeymoon trip to Bali - Great location right at Lipah beach. rey good service and attentive staff.
The first nightt a fuse blew. Upon investigation it was noted that a pipe with water dripping from it was dripping onto the fuse switches. Once the pipe was redirected, they were able to reset the fuse.
- OLEKSANDR (8/5): Overall good, but some things need to be improved - We have stayed here for 4 nights. Like: The big and clean room with opened bathroom, beautiful green territory with nice pool, great place for snorkeling. Dislike: very poor breakfast (no any kind of meat like sausages or bacon), lack of hot water power, no sunbeds on the beach, attempt to charge me for the stay on check-out while I already have paid it with hotels.com
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing Property.....my new favorite Bali destination
- Claudio (10/5): - + il giardino tropicale fantastico
- non rilevo aspetti nettamente negativi
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful gardens. Well appointed villas and excellent food and staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very nice and helpful. Beautiful setting right on the beach. The rooms next to the road were a little noisy at night.
- Eva (10/5): - This was a beautiful place to stay and also on a great beach.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was amazing, at a beautiful location. Sunrise from the beach was beautiful too. Love the outdoor showers and massive tub. Bed was comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Amed.
- claire (10/5): A little piece of paradise by the sea - Very nice villas in a lovely garden setting by the sea , friendly staff , easy off the beach snorkeling
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely hotel on the beach! - Coral View villas was a great place to stay in Amed. The room was lovely, clean and private and the staff were friendly. The pool was great. M
- Louise (10/5): Couldnât ask for more - Lovely rooms. Great size. Huge updated bathroom. Good wifi and a/c. Snorkel straight in front of hotel. Good choice for breakfast. Staff amazing
- benjamin (8/5): Good place, good price - Excelent place, a lot of value for the location, service and food.
- Julie (10/5): An Old Favourite - We'd originally headed over to Tejekula to find a beach the Sunday Times had just listed as part of its top 20. Didn't find any decent beaches so decided to head to Coral View at Amed - a place we've visited many times. I love its location, right next to the beach, where you can swim and snorkel safely. The gardens are lovely and the vibe relaxed, with a great massage available from the local women. Bread and a variety of other dishes are prepared on the premises. One of m favourite places in Bali
- Amanda (8/5): Rustic charm with modern amenities - Coral View Villas is an ideal place to stay if you are diving in Amed and want somewhere convenient and comfortable to stay. It is next door to the professional Eurodive and there are several good, inexpensive local restaurants within a short walk. You can snorkel from the beach or hire a boat as well. We chose a garden suite, which was spacious and clean, with a terrace. If we stay again I think it would be worth paying a bit more for one of the 2 storey beachfront villas. staff were very helpful and breakfast was varied and good quality.
- Pak Nasi (8/5): Quiet Retreat - This Hotel is just out of Amed but has plenty of eating options and a nice beach setting from which to snorkel or dive.
- Julie (10/5): Best snorkeling on the doorstep, charming room - Great experience to visit a different part of Bali. The snorkelling was great which is what we went for. Just one minute from door to entering water with gear! Better snorkelling here than Jemeluk or Banyuning. Coral view Villas was beautiful, lovely room. Loved the outdoor bathroom, large sun beds on the verandah and a great pool a few steps away. Gardens lovely and well kept. Bed only a double and a bit hard, but made up by four poster charm and mosquito net. All that we expected and more for very reasonablely priced budget accomodation.
- Lynne (10/5): Nice hotel. A surprising little oasis. - We did a self drive tour around Bali. We stayed at the Coral View Villas at Lipah Beach from July 5 to 7. Sunshine! Good food at the restaurant. Excellent snorkelling right off the beach. Much better then the snorkelling we saw when we signed up for snorkel tours. If you're taking your own flippers, do take a pair of booties to wear in the flippers. Prevents coral sand from scratching your feet. The pool is small, but refreshing and clean. The garden grounds were kept immaculately. Our group of 5, hired 2 villas. Spacious clean rooms. The bathrooms were also big and clean. They were open air above, but very private. I wondered if the weather might cause issues using these open air bathrooms. A couple of nights there was a lot of wind, but it didn't seem to affect the bathroom. When we arrived, we had some issues with our car. One of the staff, Made, went above and beyond the call of duty to help us fix this problem. We couldn't thank him enough. The restaurant had good food. The BBQ smoked pork ribs are a must. The satay chicken is served with dramatic flare. The goat floss was addictive. Excellent banana fritters and pancakes. Excellent fresh juices. Homemade breads. We liked it so much, we went back for a second stay from July 10 to 12. Thank you again to Made and the rest of the staff. We have such fond memories of your villas. We did try to telephone before we left Bali, and emailing you direct when we got home, but we couldn't get through. We lost keys in Villa27.
- Robert (6/5): Basics are fine, but service needs lifting - The rooms are mostly fine and the location is good - being on the beach and near enough to other restaurants and cafes. It is the small things that have let this experience down. Small things like: a less than warm welcome at reception; serving gin and tonic as a cocktail and not adding a slice of lemon; a broken door handle that could easily be fixed; untidy breakfast self-serve area despite two-three staff being present; coffeee cups ordered for outside room at midday and dirty cups and saucers still there the next morning; pool water cloudy. This could be a great place, but management needs to lift its game and ensure proper service standards. The secret of being 'laid-back' s not that everyone is relaxed, but that the staff works hard to ensure that the customer feels 'laid-back'.
- JOHN (8/5): - Quite nice stay, no complaints. Location relatively quiet, but several good, cheap places eat nearby. Easy offshore snorkeling. Rented motorbike, staff offered good advice for local trek.
- Rodney (10/5): Little piece of restful paradise - Snorkelling straight from the beach is amazing - breakfast is adequate and lovely cafes nearby. Nice linen and lovely bathroom.
- Brett (8/5): - great spot, the snorkelling is fantastic straight off the beach. Breakfast nothing to get excited about.
- Wimala (10/5): Great location, rooms are not very clean. - Great location infront of the beach. Rooms and bathroom are not super clean.
- Pauline (10/5): Great location with snorkelling - This was lovely hotel. Nice rooms and grounds, right on the beach with snorkelling a few metres in front of the hotel. Pool was small but nice with lounges. Bar/ restaurant open air with reasonable selection and nice cocktails. Few restaurants just outside the hotel with good food. Very quiet area.
- Robert (4/5): Unrealized Potential! - Reservation was for a deluxe room. At check in, the room was super small and had no real lock on the door. Since I had some electronic equipment, and other valuables, I had to insist that I be switched to a room with a functional door lock.
The upgraded room was fine. No Televisions in any of the rooms. The wifi connections was intermittent.
Overall the grounds were nice.
The restaurant is ok. The menu is very limited. The restaurant staff is great though. They offer a free breakfast buffet but it is really basic. They play music from the 70's, 80's & some 90's but it gets tired quickly.
The beach area is almost non existent. If you walk down about 100 meters or so you'll see a slightly better beach area but all in all. . . this area is known to be a desired location for scuba divers & snorkelers but I can't imagine any others enjoying it.
We actually booked the resort for 6 days but checked out after 3 days.It was worth incurring the loss.
At check out. . .we watched 2 women before us have problems processing payments through the hotels credit card processing system. Every attempt failed. When I went to settle my bill, the same result. Card declined.
Note: My cards are NEVER declined. They asked us to go down the road to their sister hotel to see if their machine would take the payment. It processed in about 30 seconds. Payment accepted. . . we were out of there.
All in All. . . terrible experience. The resort has real potential but it needs to get it's act together.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Paradise by the sea - Wonderful place for absolute peace and quiet, with a breathtaking view of the ocean!
- Verified traveler (4/5): It's a 3 star (I would say 2) resort on the beach - If you use this hotel just for sleeping a travel around Amed, then it's ok. But there is nothing too special or impressive to say about the hotel. Don't be afraid to spend a night or two here though, it's ok ;)
- Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxing place to stay by the beach - Coral View Villas is a wonderful place to stay if you are in Lipah (Amed). The staff at the hotel and the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant serves pretty tasty food. We stayed in a one-story bungalow and it had a nice patio out front with a table, loungers, and a hammock. The open-air bathroom is spacious. They provide a safe, mini-fridge, and a mosquito net. We had a fantastic time at Coral View Villas and I look forward to staying there again.
- Nezha (10/5): Remote, romantic hotel on superb snorkeling beach. - Favorite hotel among several during a week's vacation in Bali. Beautiful grounds next to beach, very nice swimming pool, good restaurant, very pleasant staff. Best easy access snorkeling I have encountered anywhere. Scenic views of Lombok's Mt. Rinjani and a beach full of Balinese outrigger canoes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best place to stay in Amed - Great hotel right on the beach. Snorkelling off the beach excellent. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. The pool is beautiful. The staff are helpful , especially in the restaurant, which is clean and has fantastic food.
Beachfront rooms are perfect for watching the locals go about their daily lives, especially the fishermen.
- Jefferey P (10/5): A wonderful peaceful stay @ Coral View - The hotel is clean, comfortable and staff were approachable and responded to all questions promptly and with a smile. Gardens maintained immaculately with daily cleaning & trimming being done. The buildings and grounds were being maintained whilst we were there but with minimal interference to our stay - ie. they were re-roofing some of the bungalows so hammering could be heard but not so much that it affected us / insect spray of neighbouring building being done - staff advised us so that we could move off verandah to ensure we did not get accidentally sprayed.
Hawkers do roam the beachfront to sell their services but this is Bali ! They were not rude or pushy and accepted our polite no thank you's readily.
The breakfast is limited with very little choice and not much change. Due to the limited breakfast we did not feel inclined to eat dinner there so can not comment.
Snorkeling is just off the beach which is well protected from surf or currents so very easy to do.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel, service, staff and location. - My stay at Coral View Villas was excellent. It is my second visit and I specifically went back there because the place impressed me so much the first time. The hotel is very clean and well manicured. The grounds are impeccable. The pool is a perfect temperature. The on-site restaurant has a nice variety on the menu and the location is one of the best in Amed as it's one of the few places actually located on the ocean where there is actually a sandy beach that you can walk on and snorkel and throw down a towel on sand to get sun. The bathrooms are fantastic. They each have both a shower and bath tub. The air conditioning is good and there is a little fridge for you to put food and drinks. Overall, I highly recommend the place. The staff arranged a motorbike on the spot for me to use during my stay and the staff is not at all intrusive. I barely noticed them but they were always quick to oblige when I needed something.
- Maz (8/5): Great Place - We stayed only one night at Coral View Villas. Our Villa was just off the pool and near the restaurant. It was lovely, especially the bathroom. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. We ate at the restaurant and the meals were delicious, prepared by Chef Liam. Liam also runs the restaurant next door at their sister property, Hidden Paradise Cottages, a great Tapas Menu. I would certainly recommend staying here. Worth the drive to escape the hustle and bustle of Seminyak and surrounding areas. Would love to revisit, only next time stay longer.
- David (8/5): beautiful and great diving - very green and beautiful hotel. great diving spot right off the beach in front of the hotel. highly recommend it.
