R6310HRroys (10/5): Seamless service - We visited this lovely restaurant with the most exquisite setting by the lake during Easter. I must say we were looked after with such care and seamless service by waitress Ivana. She understood our needs perfectly, even checked on us. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She is like a Swiss watch. We will definitely come back for such delicious food, lovely wine and beer.
Waltons2010 (10/5): A pretty gem directly on the Lake of Lucerne - This small but very comfortable hotel is situated directly on the shores of Lake Lucerne. We stayed in room 112 which is quite spacious and has a beautiful terrace facing the lake. The box spring bed is very comfortable and the bathroom with a walk in shower provides everything you need. Dinner is served in the main restaurant or if you go for Fondue you will be moved to the cozy Rigi Stübli with a log fire. There is also plenty of outside seating for these beautiful summer days or in our case, for a sunny winter day. Breakfast offers the usual plus champagne and smoked salmon. Public Parking is available right next to the hotel at reasonable rates of CHF 8/day. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is wheelchair accessible with, if needed, a special bathroom on the first floor. Also downstairs next to the reception you find an accessible toilet. The lift however is very small and you will only fit in a MANUAL WHEELCHAIR. We really loved or stay and would return any time.

br62016 (8/5): Great place. - Hotel Central Am See is a lovely place. I gave four stars because of no AC. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. Beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are very modern. Often times hotel restaurants are substandard but this one is quite good. It’s nice to have the option to eat on site after a long day of sightseeing. The location is quiet and as pictures show right on the lake! Weggis isn’t a cute little village but the location is convenient. The ferry and bus stop is a 7 minute walk away. The ferry is 40 mins into Lucern and is 15 CHF for one way. The bus takes about the same amount of time and you have to transfer to get to Lucerne but it is 7 CHF. Parking at the hotel is limited. We never saw an empty spot. We parked in a free parking garage a 10 min walk away but the walk is up hill all the way. So that might be hard for some. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
mikek474 (10/5): A splendidly refurbished hotel with exceptional staff. - Our second stay at this hotel: what a stunning improvement the refurbishment has made! We were in room 115 - a decent size, everything in good order, and a small balcony with superb lake view. The location, just 300m from the boat station & bus stop, is perfect for trips. All the staff are friendly, responsive and professional - well done! Breakfast & dinner were excellent with a good range of high quality food. Service was fast and efficient during the week but the restaurant was seriously understaffed at the weekend, causing long waits between courses. We loved the hotel and highly recommend it. We would happily stay here again, hoping that restaurant staffing issues had been addressed.

Ideal for a family holiday! - We visited Weggis for the first time as a family and stayed at the Hotel Central am See, which is in a wonderful setting directly overlooking the lake. The rooms and hotel have been recently renovated to a high standard, the quality of food at the restaurant was superb for both adults and children. The direct access to the lake and infinity pool make it feel like a luxurious stay. What made the trip stand out for us was the friendliness and welcome we received from all the front of house staff, very attentive and helpful. I particularly enjoyed conversations about the merits of FC Basel and Zurich (we were staying for the Women’s Euro) and a special mention to Vanya who made our evening meal at the restaurant a wonderful experience for us and the kids. Thank you, We will definitely be back to explore more of the region and this is the ideal base to do so!

It was really hot outside, 37°C, airconditioning is not working yet due to regulations, this is not mentioned in the booking details, we had to sleep in a very hot room. They did offer us 2 fans. But they were so small it didnt help much. They are ordening new fans to keep guests happy. Hotel is expensive, diner has an excellent view but the prices are just to high. Breakfast is ok, we did have to wait 30min for some fruit because the plate was empty. Overal nice hotel, but

lynnpI2023JX (8/5): Weggis Central Am See Hotel - Beautiful, quiet location 5 mins from ferry station in Weggis which had little impact on our experience and our 2nd floor room overlooking the terrace and lake was fantastic. They are getting so much right, pristine room with comfortable furniture and bed, all amenities. Shower room spacious and great shower. Buffet breakfast what was provided was very good but I do think they could have provided more fruit choices than melon and pineapple and cereal choices. 10 choices of tea but would have liked english breakfast as one of them! Evening meal food very good too, although service could be swifter between courses. Improvements needed, air con fitted but awaiting ratification (apology notice on wall) , more coat hangers and perhaps some artwork? As well as a QR code, surely a paper version of hotel information in the room would be useful? Staff all competent and professional at all times but not over friendly but I put this down to english not being their first language.

This lead us (and other guests we spoke to) to believe the hotel had a car park. It doesn't. It has an arrangement in a public car park next door. Arrive back and find there are no spaces - tough. Front desk clerk suggested we use parking spaces in the road that were too narrow for a standard saloon car, then when I pointed out several spaces around their property that could be parked upon he threatened to have me towed. This was totally at odds with the previous night where another desk clerk had bent over backwards to be helpful. The next morning I found cars parked on their property under trees in unmarked bays "those are for staff only" the receptionist said, I would have to move my car from the short stay car park next door and park it in a multi-story garage 1 km by road and 400m up hill on foot as after 8am I would be towed. Not "parking with in/out privileges". Whilst I was there, at least two other guests complained about the parking and were told that it was down to hotels.com and not the front desk - yet between booking and arrival the hotel had updated the parking charge on that site and left in the wording that it had in/out privileges. A major harassment and the rudeness of the staff made this an unpleasant experience... Room OK but air con fitted but inoperative which given heat wasn't good. Room not however as photographed, bathroom half the size. Fawlty Towers experience.

Breakfast OK at best - mediocre with the only cooked option being eggs (you can have boiled, fried or scrambled - can I have an omelette - "no" came the blunt response) and bacon - room OK but has ZERO amenities - no drink making facilities at all (in fact, other than fixed soap dispensers, towels and a sewing kit - nothing in the room at all). Room also has air conditioning, but it doesn't work - the desk clerk said something about "the council refusing to let them use it". The other issue is that we booked a room with a lake view balcony - what we received was a lake view deck shared with several other rooms - only ventilation overnight was to leave a door open onto this deck, so poor security. A slight whiff of Fawlty Towers here but it's the parking that means I'd never be back.

Tim (10/5): - This was my first week ever in Europe and this hotel was my favorite. It started with the super nice, accommodating staff and continued with the beautiful view of the lake from my room. They were in the final parts of remodeling but my room was perfectly done with a great view of Mt Pilatus over the little pool. Dinner was a bit pricey but the breakfast buffet was certainly worth it. Highly recommended...oh, and take the ship to get there. Its a very short walk to the hotel 👍

While hotel has an older charm, rooms are clean and modern, and the property is well maintained. Great property right on the water with direct lake access. 653irynam (4/5): Very frustrating experience, unfortunately. - Passed by hotel recently but decided not to go in. Had a really weird experience during a visit in August. We went to the restaurant to eat lunch during our bike ride and the waiter, a middle-aged man with tattoos, said that the kitchen just closed and lunch was no longer served, and asked in very unpleasant way where are we from, maybe he noticed the Ukrainian flag on my phone. My partner, in turn, asked the same question - the waiter turned out to be of Russian-Hungarian roots. Snacks were ok and ice cream almost same taste as from Mövenpick, but overpriced.

Verified traveler (8/5): Ehepaar aus der Schweiz 🇨🇭 - Die Begrüssung an der Rezeption fand auf Englisch statt auch das restliche Einchecken. Als Schweizerpaar, welches auch in der Schweiz Ferien macht, finde ich dies etwas seltsam. Im Restaurant selber hatten wir einen tollen Kellner sehr aufmerksam und zu unserer Zufriedenheit. Die Preise sind eher im oberen Bereich beim Essen und Trinken angegliedert. Im Vergleich zu unserem speziellen Hochzeitstag Essen am anderen Abend in einem anderen Restaurant. Beim Frühstück hat mir ein frisches Birchermuesli gefehlt. Schöne Lage des Hotels direkt am See mit Stammgästen. Zimmer mit Seeblick zu empfehlen. Zimmer zu Strasse, da ist schon am frühen Morgen Anlieferungsverkehr für die kleine Strasse am See viel Verkehr.
regs743 (10/5): fabulous holiday - Stayed for five days. On day two we were already feeling extremely relaxed and as if we had been there much longer. On arrival we were welcomed very warmly by the manager. Our room and bathroom were clean, clean, clean. The room has a mini fridge. Drinks can be ordered from reception. The view from the room was of the lake and the mountains. Absolutely breathtaking. The ferries closely passing by going to the nearby boat station are a joy to watch. The hotel swimming pool was only newly built last May. Very much like an infinity pool. There is also a facility to enter the lake to swim. Breakfast is served, in buffet form, in the Grande Salle, which is very light and airy with lovely views of the lake and mountains. You can also eat outside, right next to the lake, on the residents' terrace. You also eat your evening meal in the Grande Salle, if on half board. Residents can also eat in the Wintergarden Restaurant or on the restaurant's outside terrace. The a-la-carte menu is very varied. Something for everyone. The food served is excellent served by a team of very efficient waiters. Weggis is a brilliant place for a walking or sightseeing holiday. There are plenty of cafes and also a supermarket. The bus service, which leaves near the bus station, is very efficient. Trains run from nearby Vitznau. We would most definitely recommend a stay at The Central am See, Weggis, for a fabulous holiday with superb service with restaurant.

mmpb (8/5): A great 3* hotel in an ideal position. - My comments confirm some of the previous viewers comments. At the start I am reviewing a 3* hotel. I could have stayed in a 4 or 5 * hotel but was pleased to read previous comments and stayed in this perfectly positioned hotel. It is only a couple of hundred yards from the ferry and has outstanding views of the lake. I had room 222 a superior room with a balcony from both the bedroom and the bathroom. Being a side room there were two further windows with views of the lake. While there the temperature was over 30/degrees most days so having 4 windows it provided a bit of air flow as there is no air conditioning in the Hotel. The balconies have an awning which was a bonus. The rooms are basic and clean. The staff were mostly great. I was on a package holiday so had a fixed menu. This was slightly disappointing as there was only a choice of salad or soup then either a meat course/fish course/ or vegetarian. There was no choice of desert. I think the Hotel could have offered more choice and if it ever wishes to be a 4* star hotel then this is a must. The food was nicely presented and well prepared. The restaurant must have a good reputation as at weekends there were considerable number of none residents dining there. Being on a fixed menu I was not seated in the proper restaurant for the evening meal but was seated in the Stuble when not eating outside. You did feel like a second class guest on this occasion. Breakfasts were fine. The Hotel has no lounge which is possibly another reason why it is classed as a 4 star hotel. However, there is a lovely infinity pool which was such a treat in the excessive heat. Overall, a great hotel but it can only be measured against other 3 star hotels.

John53Heather (8/5): Great Location - This is a 3+ star hotel which is probably an accurate rating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good although we were half board which meant you had to eat off a special limited half board menu, which was still very good quality. We were surprised to be charged nearly £5 for a jug of tap water in the restaurant but I've been told this is normal for Switzerland? Location is great just a minute or so from the ferry turmoil and village centre. Try and get a lade or side lake room as the views are fantastic! Only downside was the the pool and pool area where out of bounds as the pool was being rebuilt!
Vikas (6/5): - Good but basic hotel located right on the lake. Very large room but furniture needs to be upgraded. Located in Weggis who’s is about 40 min from Lucern by water taxi ($25) or you can take a bus and train for about $10. No coffee in room. Safe, quiet location. Good restaurants nearby. Hotel breakfast was good as well.

tjfclily (10/5): a very special place - have just returned from what was an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. Having stayed here back in May we were given a wonderful welcome by all the staff that recognised us. The receptionist and Tobias, the manager, we especially welcomming. Beore even unpacking our car we went to the terrace restaurant, sitting next to the water, for our usual beer for him and prosecco for her. Heaven. We just leave all the goings on from work and home behind. Perfect peace. We felt that peace throughout our stay, even through the thunderstorms. We had a lovely light and spacious room with terrace. We even had a picnic lunch out there several times. The Volg, a small supermarket is just a few minutes walk away. We did sit out on the terrace a great deal. The breakfast, in the Grande Salle, has plenty of choice, hot and cold, The table staff will take special orders. For example fried egg to go with the bacon which is already out on the buffet. Dinner in the evening is served outside, weather permitting, or in the Winter Garden restaurant, and, if it is busy, even in the Grande Salle. There is a huge menu choice, for those not on half board, who have a menu card offering a choice of starter and main..We have never had issue with the menu on offer..The coffee is good. We have visited Weggis several times now so rest and relaxation is our thing now, and you can certainly do that here. There are lots and lots of breathtaking and interesting places to visit in Central Switzerland. If you are going to do lot of sightseeing a Tell Pass, from the Tourist Information, is a good investment. We love this place and have returned so many times. It is so peaceful. So special. .

Il y a un restaurant, sinon il y a des restaurants à proximité de marche. Le petit déjeuner est bon sous forme de buffet. On peut le prendre en terrasse sous les arbres au bord de l’eau. Notre chambre avait une vue sur le lac

Sabina (10/5): Beautiful view and perfect location - Stayed for 1night. Hotel is dated but the views are amazing especially from breakfast room. The location is very pretty and we had a room with an amazing view. No air con in room but fresh air from mountains and lake help.The best part is location and views. Breakfast is average, cheese, bread, yoguary, cereal etc, nothing exceptional. Parking available opposite hotel, paid at hotel but on sunday is free.

Le calme et la tranquillité garanti le repos et il y a une gamme d'excursions et activités pour tous les amants de la nature et du plein air.

Bernd (10/5): Perfekte Lage - Perfekte Lage am See mit Infinitypool. Abendessen unter Bäumen am See sehr schön. Zimmer mit Balkon und Ausblick auf Berge und See. Einfach toll. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist Durchschnitt, kein Charme.
