• Amity (10/5): Great stay - I had a fantastic stay at La Passion by Masaya. The hotel perfectly blends charm, comfort, and an unbeatable location in the heart of Cartagena’s Old Town. Breakfast each morning was fresh, generous, and absolutely delicious, served in a beautiful outdoor setting with genuinely kind service. After long, hot days exploring the city, the strong A/C and reliable hot shower felt heavenly. The rooms were unique, stylish, and full of character, and our balcony was especially beautiful. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to fully relax after busy days walking around Cartagena. One of the standout parts of our stay was the hospitality. Marcela was incredibly helpful throughout our visit — answering countless questions and helping arrange reasonably priced transportation, laundry, massages, and anything else we needed. The entire staff made the experience feel exceptionally warm and welcoming from beginning to end. The location truly could not have been better. Nearly everywhere we wanted to go was just steps away, yet the hotel still felt adequately quiet and peaceful at night. We also felt very safe throughout our stay, which made exploring the area even more enjoyable. Thoughtful touches like complimentary drinking water always available for guests made a great experience even better. This hotel was an outstanding value for the quality, comfort, service, and location. I would absolutely stay here again and would happily recommend it to friends and family visiting Cartagena.

The room was really ample and comfortable, within an stunning old building. Well decorated, not very busy, and with a nice pool and bar in the roof, that allows for a good relaxing time. Breakfast was good, and there is a coffee shop by the hotel where they serve local coffees and pastries in a relaxing atmosphere. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Nothing to fault. Nothing really, we found interesting that the shower/bath was open in the main bedroom, but this did not jeopardise the enjoyment of the room or the facilities. Pricewise, is within the price range in Cartagena, where prices are higher than in the rest of Colombia
• Philip (9/5): Wonderful experience - This is a lovely little hotel, with the best, friendliest people on staff. Every time I returned it to the hotel , it felt like I was being welcomed home. It's very close to everything, but this corner is a little quieter than other parts of the city. The executive suites are very spacious, and the balconies allow you to enjoy the vibrance of the city below.

Muy bien ubicado, fuimos andando a todos los puntos turísticos. Desayuno a la carta muy completo y rico. Piscina en la terraza y zona chill out con buenas vistas. No hay agua caliente, como mucho sale un poco templada. Esto no debería pasar en un hotel 4*. Reservamos una habitación con ventana lo cual es importante y cuando llegamos nos dieron una sin ventana. Deberían tener esto bien diferenciado a la hora de reservar y con las fotos correctas. Escaleras muy estrechas y empinadas para subir a la terraza.

Man skal være klar over at det er en gammel bygning med originale romløsninger, så du er ikke garantert balkong f.eks. Vi syntes at den gamle stilen gav hotellet sjarm!

I arrived after a long trip with my family (3 kids) and I received a room without windows with a perfume diffuser in the room and it was impossible to breathe. We all began to cough and my kids suffer from allergies so I asked kindly to receive another room (was ready to pay more) but the hotel was full. Then I asked them to give me my money back as I couldn’t stay (for health reasons) and they refused. The girl was not friendly at all and didn’t want to hear anything. I left the hotel. I tried then to communicate with them through booking they never answered. They didn’t give me a cent back. I told them I am not asking to receive my whole money back but at least something and NOTHING. Not commercial, not friendly and impossible to stay in that kind of environment. Not friendly, no compassion and thieves. When you cannot breathe in a room, you don’t force your clients (with little kids) to stay. You find a fair solution instead of stealing money. First time in my life I left a hotel.

• Suzan (7/5): Perfecte lokatie in de oude stad - Zeer ruime 'familie' kamer met 2 aparte ruimtes en aparte badkamers. Comfortabele bedden. Heel mooi oud pand middenin de oude stad. Fijne temperatuur van het zwembadwater. A la carte ontbijt boven op het dakterras. Kamer rook muf en vochtig. Was ook een oud pand dus vandaar waarschijnlijk. Er waren maar 5 ligbedden bij het zwembad waarvan er maar 2 heel waren. De andere 3 werden pas gemaakt op onze uitcheck dag. Ligbedden lagen ook niet heel lekker. 3 parasols aanwezig die niet kunnen kantelen dus weinig tot geen schaduw hiervan. Niet geschikt voor minder validen. Geen lift, maar alleen trappen. Ze hebben een lunchkaart, maar er waren alleen bevroren empenada's en kaassticks beschikbaar.

• Khalil (1/5): Problematic. - Not much but staff are kind. I rarely write reviews. Room had clear moisture damage, visible staining consistent with mold, and very poor air circulation. We experienced respiratory symptoms overnight. The issue was raised on-site and no solution or alternative was offered. Disappointingly, after escalation, Booking.com only offered a ~$25 credit, which does not reflect the seriousness of the conditions or the lack of resolution.

Grosses Zimmer im ersten Stock mit Wasserkocher und Tisch. Freundliche Angestellte und gutes Frühstück. Sanitäre Anlagen (Dusche, Toilette und Waschbecken) sind rudimentär, hätte für den relativ hohen Preis im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels etwas mehr Komfort erwartet

Petit bémol pour le petit-déjeuner pris les uns sur les autres dans un petit espace ne permettant pas de profiter de la magie des lieux.

Really good breakfast , nice arepas and super good empanadas as snack for the pool. The pool is bigger than it looks on the pictures! We really enjoyed the stay and had a good time :)

• Jessica (7/5): Ne reservez pas l appartement!!! - La gentillesse de marsela (receptionniste de nuit) qui nous a gentillement changé de chambre apres un desagrément et qui nous a egalement aidé a organiser une excursion sur les iles et repondre a toutes nos questions. Sa gentillesse a beaucoup fait sur la note. La grande piscine sur le rooftop est tres cool et la literie est tres confortable avec des lits king size. Super emplacement au coeur du centre ville avec tout a coté. Nous avions reservé l appartement qui n etait pas du tout en phase avec nos attentes. A notre surprise, il n etait pas dans l hotel mais avait sa propre porte separée donnant sur la rue et donc sur le bruit de la rue, des passants et des voitures qui klaxonnent (sport international en colombie!). De plus, pas de fenetre a l etage ou se trouvait la chambre donc un appartement vraiment tres sombre et bruyant. Nous avons meme retrouvé un clochard devant la porte un soir et avons du appeler Marsela pour qu elle le fasse partir pour pouvoir rentrer. Suite a ça, nous avons demandé a etre changé de chambre au sein de l hotel dans une chambre donnant sur la cour interieure. Marsela est la recptionniste de nuit et c est elle qui nous a trouvé une solution alors que la receptionniste de jour n a pas été d une grande aide....meme aucune....selon elle tout etait indiqué dans la description sur booking!!!

• Maik (8/5): Hotel in toller Lage von Cartagena mit wunderschönen Zimmern - Sehr zentrale aber ruhige Lage in eher ruhiger Nebenstraße der Altstadt von Cartagena. Wer das bunte Treiben der Statd erleben will, aber trotzdem bei Ruhe entspannen will ist hier richtig. Die Zimmer sind geräumig unbedingt sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool auf dem Dach ist für ein Botigue-Hotel sehr groß, so dass man sogar ein paar Bahnen schwimmen kann. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier buchen. Die Zimmer sollten unbedingt mit einem Minikühlschrank ausgestattet werden. Warum dies nicht der Fall ist, bleibt das Geheimnis der Leitung. Ein Muss für ein Haus mit diesem Standard. Die Poolbar auf dem Dach könnte etwas mehr zum Verweilen einladen, z.B. durch bessere Drinks und Atmossphäre.
• de Haan (7/5): Wonderful location. - The apartment is not in the hotel but next to it. The location is wonderful in the old town. Place was clean. The staff could have communicated a bit better how everything works. They only have one set of keys for the apartment so we have to leave the keys at the reception, however the cleaning lady kept knocking on our door. The apartment is also a bit off. Shower is tiny and you need a manual for the shower.

• Emilie (10/5): Séjour en famille à Carthagène - Le cadre est incroyable!!! La piscine sur le toit, le petit déjeuner très bon et les dames du petit déjeuner très sympathiques. Le bar et le roof top étaient superbes. L'emplacement est idéal. Beaucoup de restaurants à proximité et possibilité d'y aller à pied même le soir. Les réceptionnistes étaient sympathiques sauf une qui était très très froide, ce qui nous a étonné et déçu car tout le reste du personnel était convivial.

• Jean-baptiste (8/5): Beautiful and charming place - The decoration and the atmosphere are very nice. And the location is perfect. The rooms are spacious but can lack natural light if windows only open on the patio. Breakfast is delicious and offers a good choice of sweet and savory options. The rooftop space is beautiful and offers gorgeous views. The place is historical (which is an asset) but it shouldn’t seem like old or neglected especially as it is a bit pricey. For example, the paper toilet holder in the first floor restroom is rusted ( there was no soap and no paper toilet neither) and the cabinet wooden doors in our bathroom showed moisture spots. It would require some cleaning or painting.

• Holly (6/5): For the cost, it didn’t feel as luxurious as many nearby hotels - Truly beautiful guesthouse and rooms, decor is beautiful and calm oasis compared to other Lou’s hotels in the city but still very well located A rooftop pool with only one sun lounger was very disappointing, all of them were broken and damaged - they need to replace this as nowhere to enjoy the sunshine and relax after walking around the city. For the price I paid, I was surprised at the service . Quite unhelpful and rude, the first two I met felt like they didn’t want me to be there and even tried to tell me off for coming into the hotel on the evening to go to my room. But the lady the next day was very nice and the breakfast service was great.
