Guest Reviews
- Sandra (8/5): - La simpatía del personal tanto de recepción como de limpieza!! Nos esperábamos otra cosa por las fotos que vimos.
- markbS1906GZ (10/5): Great location and helpful management! - Creative use of building with reception and rooms on third floor. great location across street from S.M. Maggorie. Super responsive communications via What’s App. Overall, we were very happy to be located a healthy walk away from chaos around the Forum and other attractions.
- Travel-Simona (10/5): Best location - Super location with Santa Maria Maggiore literally right at the doorstep. The location is perfect: about a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum and close to lovely playgrounds for children.
The room was clean and was maintained daily by housekeeping. The staff was always available for any questions and nothing was too much trouble.
It is a historic building, so the rooms can be a bit noisy at times. However, if you are visiting Rome to explore the city and are looking more for adventure than for a perfectly quiet hotel room, this is a perfect option.
- Connector24955072414 (10/5): Domus Liberius definitely stay here - Great location ,friendly staff always available, very clean lobby & rooms - would definitely recommend to everybody
- Mark (8/5): Only gave a 9 because 1 day the lift broke down (but was quickly fixed ) - Its location -friendly staff ,very clean Nothing
- clodoaldos953 (10/5): Hotel Domus Liberius - I really liked the location of Domus Liberius, as it’s perfectly situated between Termini Station and the Colosseum, making it easy to get around and explore Rome. The rooms are newly renovated and in excellent condition, very clean and comfortable. What truly stood out, though, was the outstanding service — everyone I interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.
- catmiaow987 (2/5): Do not trust the photos - We had so many problems with this hotel. If you are from the UK you will know Premier Inn hotels are grubby and dirty, usually reasonably cheap and this place is worse, yet charges over £200 a night. It's about 15 minutes walk to the train station, enough that it's a bit of a pain with luggage to be honest, the trains to the airport are from 14 euros each person each way. The metros and buses are unreliable and extremely busy, in most cases it's less stress to walk.
Check in was pretty easy, when we went to the room we said to the lady we were not happy and asked for a room change. From then every time we went to the reception area there was never anyone there, I left notes and nothing was ever done. I complained to Expedia who were of no help whatsoever, directed me back to them, who of course who could not be bothered to address my issues. Quick enough to ask for the city tax though, again no one was there so we had to leave the money.
The room had a sewage smell, it was how you can imagine. The bedsheets had a smell to them, I put towels over them as I didn't want to get in bed and I came out with hives. The noise from the hotel is really bad, you can not get a wink of sleep. You have people shouting inside and outside, along with loud music and it goes on all night. The room was not clean, bits all over the wooden floor and the room was in a massive need of an update. Grubbiness around the shower was mentioned months ago on a previous review and they said they would address and it hasn't been. The air conditioning sometimes worked, wasn't reliable and there was a smoke smell through the place. It is advertised as a smoke free property.
They tell you on check in (not mentioned previously) that they want the city tax in cash only, I travel a lot and have always paid it by card and this was a massive inconvenience as we got charged at the cash machine.
Absolute nightmare trying to speak to anyone at this place and no one wanted to help me, it completely spoilt our trip as we couldn't sleep, I was covered in hives and wanted to get home. Please do not make the same mistake as me by booking this place. It shouldn't even be £100 a night, let alone £215 a night! Absolute disgrace!
- georgegJ4945YT (10/5): Great Location - Great location- walkable to restaurants, many landmark sites and Termini station. Friendly staff and newer buildout. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Fabio (8/5): -
- GeorgeS476 (10/5): Great choice - Tucked away but right in the middle of Rome. Near the train, hop on and be off buses short walk away. Hand full of restaurants nearby. Well maintained.

- Z3829HQemmad (10/5): Amazing stay! - Great Base to Explore Rome
We stayed at Domus Liberius for a few nights and found it to be an excellent base for exploring the city. The location is incredibly convenient, especially being so close to Roma Termini, which made both arrival and departure very easy.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a good layout and enough space for our luggage. Everything was well maintained and matched the description we saw online.
There was some light movement in the building in the early morning, which is understandable in a shared property, but it didn’t affect our stay significantly. Overall, everything worked very well and we would definitely consider staying here again.
- P7177UTgiuseppee (10/5): Super easy and well organized stay - Great location near Termini station ( metro B ), very clean room and everything was simple from start to finish.
We used the upgrade which was lovely cause the room had a view over the Basilica. Andrea a young gentleman helped us through out out whole stay! Lovely place - will def come back❤️
- O4920MAashleyt (10/5): Perfect Stay in the Heart of Rome! ❤️ - We had a truly wonderful stay at Domus Liberius. The location is unbeatable, just steps from Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and within easy walking distance of Roma Termini, which made getting around incredibly convenient.
The room was clean, spacious, and surprisingly quiet given how central it is. What really made the difference for us was the communication: everything was handled quickly and efficiently via WhatsApp, and we always felt supported. It’s a very modern and stress-free way to experience Rome. We would absolutely stay here again.
- giuliamJ6931XE (10/5): All in all, a very pleasant and comfortable stay. - Clean, Stylish and Thoughtfully Organized
We really enjoyed our time at Domus Liberius. The room had a modern and clean design, and it was clear that attention had been paid to keeping everything in excellent condition.
The location is ideal for walking to many attractions, and the area feels lively but still safe and accessible. It’s also very convenient for public transportation.
One thing we appreciated was how easy everything was — from access to the room to the overall organization of the stay. The air conditioning took a little while to cool the room when we first arrived, but after that it worked perfectly.
All in all, a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
- 460costanzac (10/5): PERFECT STAY - Reliable Choice in a Great Location
We had a very good experience at Domus Liberius. The location is excellent, especially being close to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, and everything we wanted to visit was easily accessible.
The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Nothing overly luxurious, but very well done and perfectly functional for a city stay. They gave us extra towels upon request which was nice, other places charged us for it. Andrew was always responsive and the whole staff helpful, which made the experience even more reassuring and stress-free.
- flaviapE311XA (10/5): Great Location, Relaxing Stay - Comfortable Stay with Everything You Need
Domus Liberius is a very practical and comfortable place to stay in Rome. The room was clean, quiet, and well maintained, and it had everything we needed for a short visit.
The building is in a very central area, but once inside, it feels calm and relaxed.
Communication was smooth throughout, and Julia was very helpful whenever we reached out. Recommended!
- 447paigec (10/5): Unique Hotel - Love the charm of this place. Secret walkway, secret codes and lovely courtyard.
- caricator956 (10/5): Gem in Roma - We had a really positive experience at Domus Liberius. Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out, and the location near Roma Termini made it super easy to move around.
One thing we will never forget: Andrew warned us about pickpockets in the metro and specifically told us to keep an eye on our bags. On our second day, someone actually tried to open my partner’s marsupio on the metro — and we caught it in time because of his advice. That alone was priceless.
The stay itself was clean, comfortable, and very well managed. Will return!
- angidiotallevi (10/5): Magic and wonderfull experience - Comfy stay in Roma
We had a fantastic stay at Domus Liberius. The location is perfect, especially close to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, and everything we wanted to see was within easy reach.
What really stood out was how many services were available and how easy everything was to arrange. We booked a tour directly through the property, and it was beautiful — Julia and Andrew helped us with everything, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Breakfast was also very good, fresh and convenient before a full day in the city. The room was clean, quiet, and refreshed during our stay, including fresh sheets, which we appreciated. Everything felt smooth from arrival, including the pickup service and early check-in.
- lorenzolK9094FV (10/5): Very nice place - Easy, Modern and Very Well Managed
Domus Liberius offers a very modern and efficient way to stay in Rome. From the moment we booked, everything was clearly explained and easy to follow, which made the arrival completely stress-free.
The room itself was spotless, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt fresh and well cared for, and the daily upkeep was excellent. We also appreciated how quiet it was at night, allowing us to rest properly despite being in such a lively area of the city.
The support from the team was always available when needed, and responses were quick and helpful without ever feeling intrusive. If we had to mention one small detail, the bathroom was slightly compact, but still perfectly functional and clean. Overall, a very positive experience
- Kate1664 (10/5): Amazing service and location - From the minute we booked with Domus Liberius we had an amazing service and fantastic communication! Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent location with walking distance to all the attractions. Room was lovely and clean. Communal space to make a hot drink. Such a warm welcome from Alessandra who was extremely helpful!
- mariacristina (9/5): - Tutto Un po’ complicato aprire le porte
- Dominic (10/5): -
- 955samantha (8/5): Great location and staff brilliant - The hotel was easy to walk to from the termini station, it is very conveniently situated in the centre of Rome.
The rooms were extremely clean and tidy. There is no coffee/ tea making facilities which was a shame, there is a kitchen area where they could simply provide hot water and cups as guests could keep coffee etc in their own rooms.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. They have a luggage storage area which was great on our last day due to a later flight. There is a lot of street noise but you would expect that in any countries capital city, and I loved hearing the bells ringing from the basilica opposite:)
- Gabriele Gerna (9/5): -
- glenaddis1 (8/5): Domus Liberius - Great Central Place to Stay in Rome! - Couldn't get a better location than this - right overlooking the Basilica Santa Maggiore!
Really central for everything, and key sights like the Colosseum and Trevi and Spanish Steps etc all within easy walking distance (no more than 30 mins) - and the hotel is just 10 mins from the Termini station.
The Whats App dialogue with the hotel from the very start was very useful, and the hotel felt very safe with the keypad entry systems on the doors leading to the rooms.
Only downside were some slight issues in the bathroom (poor quality mastic sealing around the shower, loose shower fittings and a light not working over the sink etc), so not quite what we expected for a 'superior double room', but all-in-all, fairly reasonable value for such a location.
Very busy area, with lots of constant traffic noise/car horns and church bells, but you get used to that pretty quickly, and it's all part of the Roman charm!
Would we come back here - YES.
- DannyCawley (10/5): Great stay in a beautiful place - From the second we booked the staff were helpful and friendly. The place is clean and wonderfully located.
- Voyager717684 (10/5): Convenient location close to transportation, grocery store, cafes and tourist sites. - We love the location, cleanliness, security, staff and decoration/design of the hotel. We walked and took public transportation to tourist sites. There is a bus stop right at the entrance. Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica is right across the street. We had a wonderful vacation stay.
- bogsg597 (10/5): Perfect location and very helpful staff - We had a wonderful stay at Domus Liberius. The location is fantastic, just steps from Santa Maria Maggiore and only a short walk from Termini station, which made it very easy to get around Rome.
The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, and the staff were extremely kind and responsive. Communication through WhatsApp was quick and very helpful whenever we had questions. A great place to stay when visiting Rome.
- 314federicai (10/5): 🥰🥰🥰 - I had a wonderful stay at Domus Liberius and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
The location is fantastic — right in the historic center and within easy walking distance of many of the main sights, yet the area still feels authentic and local. What really made the stay special, though, was the level of hospitality. The team is incredibly kind, responsive and genuinely attentive. You can tell they truly care about their guests and want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. Julia really satisfied all of our requests.
The room was spotless, beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful details: a great coffee machine in the common areas, quality amenities, and a lovely welcome gift that made the experience feel personal rather than “standard hotel”. Everything was modern, quiet and perfectly organized.
The digital check-in process was also extremely smooth. We received clear instructions and access codes in advance, which made arrival effortless, even outside reception hours. Their digital reception is on point. Whenever we needed something, the staff was quick to respond and always happy to help.
Breakfast at a nearby café in the square, which turned out to be a great way to start the day like a local.
I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Rome♥️
- H8996OTsarag (4/5): Very disappointing - Location not great
No atmosphere in reception
Rooms tired /extremely uncomfortable beds
Value poor
Cleanliness poor
Noise level - dreadful heating system that made loud noises through the night
Service - very poor- we checked out and asked if our luggage could be stored for 1 hour, we returned to find it left in reception unattended
Amenities - average , nothing special
Bed linen was clean and fresh clean towels daily
Cobwebs
- Y6539WGtoddk (10/5): Wonderful hotel and great staff - We really enjoyed our stay the room was clean and a lot bigger than I expected the staff were very friendly and professional. Also it is in a central location to a lot of the tourists destinations. It’s within a few minutes of the termini station and has lots of very good restaurants and stores nearby.
- N4678WXtanyam (10/5): Good Experience - We had a wonderful couple of days at Domus Liberius. The staff is exceptional. They responded quickly to all of our queries. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is quite close to the main train station and many of the attractions, including the Colosseum.
- eduardovH3060HJ (10/5): Perfect spot to move around Central Rome - Nice, clean, and very well positioned Hotel opposite to Santa Maria Maggiore (% minutes walk to Termini-Central Train Station)
- angiedK6334NH (10/5): Excellent staff and location - The staff was truly amazing! They were all so helpful and responsive 24/7. Communication was continuous and coordinated several weeks before my trip, which gave me peace of mind that everything was well-organized. The location can be a little hard to find if you are relying on GPS, but the Domus Liberius team provided excellent directions via chat to ensure a smooth, stress-free arrival. The room itself provided everything I needed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Rome!
- Kenhamner1 (8/5): I visited Rome for business. Unfortunately this is not a business hotel. There is no coffee in the room for instance. - Management was very professional, but not available at all times. They use an AI bot to discuss with you your needs instead. I was sick at the time, but when management did see my message they resolved it and helped me get medicine. It’s in a great location but it’s more of a boutique hotel with very limited services.
- Louisema2014 (8/5): Excellent location - The location was great, short walk from the main train station with plenty of options around to eat. The room was clean and spacious, with an excellent view. There was a bit of traffic noise but that was to be expected due to location and we still slept well. I’ve only knocked off 1 star due to a smell that started in the bathroom, we reported this the following morning and was told it happens due to the age of the building usually in rainy weather. This can’t be helped but the weather had been very dry.
Other than this we really enjoyed our stay.
- G4826PSkevinm (10/5): Simple and Easy, a Great Stay for Travelers - Staff was very kind, and made it very easy to plan. Location was great, and a 5-minute walk to the train station, making it very convenient. The area was safe and the rooms were quiet, and the bed was very comfortable.
- RachRobs (10/5): Brilliant - I can not thank the girls enough for the fantastic communication leading up to our stay and also during.
The rooms were clean and everything we needed was available in the communal area.
Beautifully set out rooms and building.
The area surrounding was also great, no issues and a few shops locally.
A really short walk away from the main terminal and only 10 minutes to the main 'attractions' so to speak.
No issues at all.
Thank you for a lovely stay
- Heartylad (8/5): Rugby trip - We spent 4 nights here for the Italy v Scotland Rugby match. Our room was good. Plenty room to move about. The location is good too. Opposite the Santa Maria Maggiore cathedral and 5 minutes walk from Roma Termini.
We had some issues with the keypad entry system. I felt the shower could have been warmer. There is a lack of electrical sockets in the room (313) we had to disconnect the bedside lamps to charge our phones as the usb sockets didn't work. Also, the safe didn't work. However, we did have an enjoyable stay. Alessandro on the front desk was so helpful 👏 we would stay here again.
- O2344EYannieh (10/5): Amazing !! - Amazing experience at this hotel !!
The staff are so lovely and very helpful with any questions we had. They were just a message or phone call away when/if we needed something. The room was great and very clean. Our bed was made every day which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend!!!
- joceejo (10/5): A real sense of Rome - Based in the shadow of Santa Maria Maggiore, Domus Liberius is in a great location - a quick walk from the station (Rome Termini) and an easy base for sight-seeing. The hotel has a real sense of Rome as you step through the wooden door from the street and find yourself in a tranquil courtyard - the perfect send of calm after a hectic day. The rooms are clean and modern - the lovely hot shower was particularly welcome. The staff are really helpful and communicating via What’s App means your questions are quickly answered. Great value for money.
- richardbW5333QJ (10/5): Central location, great stay - Central location, friendly staff and comfortable. Clean and tidy rooms. Transport to airport is simple and close to trains
- Go813324 (10/5): Excellent stay - The customer service was superb. The room was clean and quiet; room service consistently good and on time. The location is definitely a huge plus. Really enjoyed the stay and will definitely return.
- Destination818425 (10/5): A wonderful place to stay - A wonderful place to stay.
The hotel was clean, well maintained, and within walking distance of all major attractions. Alessandra at the reception was extremely kind and welcoming, and she even helped us with a city map, drawing a walking route for us.
I would highly recommend this place.
- Jose (9/5): - El agua de l regadera salía fría
- 428leahz (10/5): Great stay! - Highly recommend! The location itself is great! Only 17 min walk to colosseum! The room was clean and the staff was amazing!! It felt safe and secure with the codes to get to your room. Staff helped us with booking private transport to and from the airport which took stress off of us! It was a great stay!

- noelleb321 (10/5): Overall good stay, enjoyed the area - Enjoyed our stay at Domus Liberius. The room was clean, bed comfy, and service of staff was good (you can WhatsApp message them with any questions/requests and they respond). Wifi at hotel worked well. The location is great as well - we walked to the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, restaurants, and more. The only thing we were apprehensive of was because the reception isn't staffed 24/7 there are quite a few instructions on how to get inside the first time. Once we figured out the instructions thought it wasn't too bad. The hotel also offers taxi pick up from airport (at a cost) which I did and was grateful to have someone waiting for me at the airport when my flight got delayed and landed at 3am.
- 888marybeths (8/5): Mostly very good except Wi-Fi issues - The location can't be beat - 10 minute walk to Termini Station - Rome's central train station - easy to get on the Leonardo Express to/from FCO/Termini. Close to the Metro as well. Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat nearby. The WhatsApp assistance was very good, but I wish the front desk were staffed more consistently, but the staff who were there were friendly and helpful. The one big criticism for me was the very slow Wi-Fi connection which often dropped. Something to consider. Maybe leave instructions on how to use the coffee machine?
- U1071ZKleandros (10/5): Great staying - Very nice. Walking distance from touristic must see points such as the Coliseum, Fontana de Trevi and others. The staff is very good as well, Jasmine was great welcoming us, giving tips and helping with the questions we had. We had a great time.
- marcobQ3887IT (10/5): Simply excelent! - Locations 10/10
Atmosphere 10/10
Rooms 9/10
Value 10/10
Cleanliness 10/10
Jasmine was the best host ever!
Everything was excellent.
- Aip (10/5): - We like the location as it is very close to everything! From Termini Station to Collosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Basilica. Jasmine was so nice, helpful and very accomodating. 😊 The room wad big for 3 persons. They even have a map and suggestions for the tourists spots and restaurants in the area. They helped me plan a little surprise for my partner's birthday. And it is opposite of St. Mary Maggiorre.
- jasmailyng (10/5): Beautiful Stay - The service was impeccable someone to attend you 24/7. The rooms are very spacious and clean. My family and I especially loved the location close walk to everything!
- joefuente (10/5): Amazing experience at Domus Liberius - Excellent stay at Domus Liberius
We had a very good experience at Domus Liberius. The room was always very clean, spacious, and comfortable, which made our stay very pleasant. The bathroom was also spotless, something we really appreciated.
The location is excellent, very close to Roma Termini station, making it easy to get around the city and manage transfers. The staff was very kind and helpful, and we had excellent communication with them at all times. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Rome!
- cynthiamE4188UZ (10/5): Best hotel - Perfect hotel for me! The staff was amazing and took great care of me!
I felt safe the entire time and the location was perfect! I will definitely be back :)
- ashleybD6242EE (10/5): First time vista but feels like home. - Our first time staying in Rome and this accommodation was amazing. The room was very spacious and clean. Great service from the team making our stay very easy with all the information we needed.
The location of the room couldn't have been better. Located directly opposite the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore meant you were directly in the middle of the city amongst the history. You are so close to the city that in the evenings it is bustling with people and such a great atmosphere, whether you research places to visit or eat you are bound to find so many great foods and shops to visit.
All popular landmarks are within walking distance like the colloseum and Trivi fountain as well as multiple supermarkets and food places so you can stay with ease.
For our first stay it blew our expectations and we will 100% be back again.

- I950NCnataliec (10/5): Best location, superb attention - Our room was perfectly situated in front of the Basilica and centrally located that we were able to walk to most of the main attractions- trevi fountain, colosseum, pantheon, and the Spanish steps. There was a taxi stop right out front so made it super easy to get a ride to the airport and also close to Roma Terminal (train station) for when we came in from Venice. The team was super responsive to all my questions via WhatsApp and made check in super easy!
- mistandmountains (10/5): Great location at a good price - Great location near the train station. Rooms were nice/well kept. Staff was friendly and helpful. Access to the building/room outside of operating hours worked very easily.
- Trail41002541303 (10/5): Awesome place to stay!! - Exceptional location right beside Basilica Santa Maria Major and very close to the main terminus train station. There is a bus stop at the front door. The room was large and very nice. Bed was firm. Everything was very clean and in good order. There is an elevator. Checking in was easy, they let us leave our luggage until check in time so we could enjoy our time. The reception employee was awesome! She was very friendly and helpful with key items like public transportation and where to eat. There are several excellent restaurants within 100 yards of the front door. It is in a very safe upscale area. They offer excellent private transportation from the airport or Civitavecchia for a reasonable competitive price. You should definitely take advantage of that great service. Total winner!! We LOVED our stay.
- NorthStar589373 (10/5): Good location, great stay - Just back from a great 3 night stay. There was lots of communication from the hotel before our stay as to how we would enter the gates and room using our special code as we arrived after 1pm. This was very simple to do and we were in without a problem. We were happy with the room although there are a few small signs of wear and tear. There is a wardrobe, safe and fridge and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is nice and big. We loved the view from the window on the 3rd floor. Another great thing about this hotel is the location. It cant get much better. Its less than a 10 minute walk from the Termini station when getting the Leonardo Express from the airport. We managed to walk to all the main attractions as they are all walkable from the hotel. The staff we met were friendly and approachable and were always available on Whatsapp if out of working hours. I would 100% recommend staying at the Domus Liberius for your Rome stay and thank you
- newyorker2762 (10/5): Great Stay! - Great stay at Domus Liberius. Stayed for 2 nights traveling to see family in the south of Italy. Very clean. Kind staff. Will definitely stay here again as we travel to Italy once a year.
- Italycalling (10/5): Very Comfortable and great location - The location of Domus Liberius is phenomenal. It is just across the road from Santa Maria Maggiore church (Saint Mary Major). There are restaurants and coffee bars nearby. Also, we dropped our luggage off before returning our rental car (who needs a car in Rome with such a great bus service) and while most hotels do not have a place to load/unload a car, Domus Liberius has a tiny "road" entrance on the pedestrian pavement where one can park for a few minutes.
The hotel is on the 3rd floor with an elevator. The modern decor is very pleasing and clever by transforming high ceilings into a cozy living space. There is a great security system, and one uses a keypad to enter one's room, with en-suite bathroom. It was such a pleasure not to need a key or key card. There was one step down to get into the hotel room, and one step up to get into the bathroom. So anyone with mobility issues might ask for a different room.
The young team running the establishment was very efficient and although we had a late check-in, Andrea was there to help us unload our car and help us to our room. There is a lovely area to relax and make tea and coffee. We really enjoyed our stay. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and with Google Maps we could move about freely and feel like a local. Highly recommend, we would definitely stay here again.

- K3551FPdeborahm (10/5): Our Rome Stay at Domus Liberius - If you are on the fence about staying here do not be, this is a great place for Family. The people who checked us in were very Friendly and Nice! We only stayed one night but we would stay here again. This place was close walking distance to the train station. We also walked from here to the colosseum. Room was a decent size and bed was comfortable. Thank you Julia and Cristina :)
- GeorgeS476 (10/5): Fantastic - Thank you, we enjoyed our stay, it was convenient, had everything, wifi, nearby restaurants, security. Staff were very friendly, & informative.
- Suj0519 (10/5): Great hotel with great view - We had a wonderful stay! The staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Its central location made it easy to explore many of the city’s main monuments and attractions. Highly recommend!

- C8817DKdominich (10/5): Perfect base to explore a wonderful city - Lovely clean room with friendly staff and perfect location for exploring the city from, with the advantage of the Santa Maria Maggiore bell tower to guide you home
- saraeT6127MG (10/5): I would definitely stay again here, excellent experience!!! - Loved the location, customer service, cleanliness and affordable price, very convenient to get a taxi, big bus, nice restaurants and shopping, specially shopping!!!
- Leesw8 (10/5): Wonderful stay - Wonderful hotel - clean and convenient for all the sights of Rome. I had a large room on the front of the hotel facing directly on to Santa Maria Maggiore
- tamstevens (10/5): Great value, great location, great staff - The location and place were great. This obviously used to be one of the amazing buildings with incredibly high ceilings and well maintained.
It is located well with only 15 minutes to walk to the Colosseum and across from an amazing Basilica with the very moving grave of Pope Francis.
The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly.
Definitely very good value - not the lap of luxury but clean, well equipped and comfortable.
- X8594HAclairet (10/5): Great stay would book here again. - A great base to explore Rome, a lovely view each morning as you walk out the main doors of Basilica Maria Maggiore, a few restaurants nearby and Gelato shops so perfect if you don't want to go far in the evening to eat out. Room was very clean, simple but has what you need. There's a kettle and coffee machine which was a great addition to the small lounge area.
Would stay again as not too far from the main attractions and only a few minutes from the Termini station, so if flying into FCO airport catch the train into Rome and walk to the hotel it's easy.
- X3673CWjillb (4/5): Nice room, but didn’t like th ode absence of staff during the most of the day/time spent in night. - The location was great, it was within walking distance to many sights, restaurants and shops. The rooms were clean. But, we had to ask for clean towels every few days. We also had to request toilet paper and one day ran completely out. There was no staff on duty most of the time to solve problems. Our air conditioning didn’t work for half of the trip so we had to sleep with our window open. We were on a busy, noisy street that was loud all night. We did not feel like valued customers or that our concerns were being addressed.
- J7546QUkellyr (10/5): Excellent location, great value for money, safe and secure - highly recommended - The location was within a short walking distance to a lot of the major sites and only a 10 minute walk from the main train station, recommend using the rail link to the airport as it’s fast and way cheaper than car or transfers. The hotel itself was perfect for a small family. I felt safe and secure as they were four doors with security keypads to enter through before reaching our room. The staff Julia and Paul, were both friendly and accommodating, no request was too much bother for them. The room was clean with essential amenities. Although the road outside could be noisy and very busy, the windows blocked a lot of the sound so it was no bother. Excellent value for money would highly recommend.
- Getaway573484 (10/5): Perfect for couples - We had a great experience at this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The hotel is nicely situated and close to all the major attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Julia. Our room was clean and very comfortable.
- Explore00689645322 (2/5): Horrible & Unsanitary - Very expensive for such a dump of a hotel! They are NOT B&B as they advertise! Room TOO small! HORRIBLE sewage smell & mold in the bathroom! Ripped chair! TV volume restricted! Creaky bed! Mattress had a middle sink hole!! Pillows flat Iike a pancake! Broken hair dryer! Room had a stale smell! LOTS of dust & spider webs! Water stains on ceiling. Floor NEVER swept! Hotel is on the 5th foor, not 3rd floor! Walking all day & having to go up 5 flights of stairs because the elevator NEVER worked not even once during our stay! NO shower pressure! Slow drain! Shower head facing another direction! A/C was off when we arrived! We turned the a/c up to the highest setting & NEVER cooled the room enough! Walls are VERY thin! Safe DIDNT work! We complained & asked for a partial refund or another room... Instead, the hotel ONLY gave us ONE breakfast voucher which was ONLY good for ONE cup of coffee & ONE crosaunt! We will NEVER recommend this hotel!
- D3804GOstephaniep (10/5): Great place - We had a great room with an amazing view of the basilica. The room was spacious and modern. It was very clean. We had housekeeping everyday, so it was nice to come back to a neat and clean room. This place it’s in a great location. It’s very near to the main attractions. The only problem we had was with the elevator, it wasn’t working a few times and we had to go up and down the stairs, the rooms are on a 3rd floor. The staff was very welcoming and made sure we had all the instructions and information we needed.
- jordanrR4779KT (2/5): Unforgettable experience, I will never return. - When I originally booked this room, I was excited because it was the last stop on my trip, I was in Italy for a total of three weeks and was hopping all over to try to hit the key things on my bucket list that I wanted to do. Little did I know that the pictures and everything that I read or saw was not what this hotel is. When I first arrived, I decided to walk from the train station and as I was getting there, I couldn’t find location. I was like there’s no way it looks like an apartment building. Well that’s exactly what it was like, so I was trying to get into the door with a code that they gave me because their office hours are 830 to 1 PM and I was coming in that day for my train at 5 PM so I was like OK great I’m checked in. I have my information and I typed the code in 10 times could not get into the point that another couple that was staying there was able to enter their code and help me get in so I was able to get into the wooden door. There was a gate but luckily the gates open there’s no code for that so I was able to get through the gate then there’s the door to enter your code to enter the building where the suite in your room is, I had people literally waiting inside there watching me seeing if I could enter the code and get access and I get it honestly it’s probably something I would do because I would be worried that someone was trying to come in. That didn’t need to be there, but it was frustrating because I had all of my luggage I was tired. I just wanted to get to my room and I entered my code probably another five or six times until I finally got it right and I was entering the numbers I got in I ride the elevator. I get to my suite where I have to enter the code again in order to enter the suite to get to my room, which took me probably another 4 to 5 times in order to get in. I got to my room got the door code wrong twice, but got into my room and I will say I really enjoyed the presentation of the room. The furniture looked nice and I loved it that the room was cold and crisp. That was my favorite part. However, I didn’t like that. The shower to me seemed dirty. I could tell it was clean and the whole bathroom is clean, but I could see rust and the caulking within the shower, falling apart and coming apart and beginning stages of mold, and that really may not want to take a shower in which I literally wiped myself off and did everything I could until my last night there my last night there I actually got a shower and it was probably the quickest shower I’ve ever taken. When I walked throughout the room with closer inspection, I noticed that there was chips in the paints, literally like the size of quarters are larger that the room needed to be repainted and I was just like wow there were some dust in some corners that honestly I wouldn’t look for but at this point after the bathroom and after seeing the chips of paint, I was looking for remind you I didn’t take pictures. I really should have and I didn’t say anything. I was like you know what it is what it is this is my last room? I’m going home make the most of it. Well then I’m obviously have my room tax. I can’t pay my card. I wasn’t notified prior that I needed to pay in cash and I couldn’t come to the office and pay my time obviously it’s my last tail and I have a ton of tours booked because I’m trying to make the most of my trip so obviously I can’t come to the office from 830 to one. So I didn’t have the cash on me because at that point in time the remainder of cash that I had on me was $25 in euros and honestly trying to go to anywhere on that block that would be able to break it down to me so I had them out of money that I needed was kind of ridiculous. I had to go to three different places that was able to break the change that I needed to leave in my room when I checked out to pay my room tax, which is fine I did it. It is what it is. They also told me there was an ATM I could go to could not locate the ATM where they told me it was whatever it is what it is my final night there I come back from my tour. I’m tired. I have to literally pack all my stuff do you like my checks to make sure I got everything I packed everything. I didn’t miss everything go to bed so I can get up catch my car that they did help me schedule which I’m very thankful for, but they failed to tell me there that I needed to pay the driver in cash not with card even though I secured the ride with card and it said I could pay in card so that was frustrating later on. But I found out the elevator was broken that night whatever it’s fine. I climbed the nine flights of stairs to get to my room tired I put down all of my stuff my belongings that I got from my tour that I bought and use the bathroom refreshed I ended up doing delivery room to deliver stuff to my room for dinner that night went down the nine flights of stairs to pick up what I ordered for dinner climbed back up the night and flights of stairs so I could eat at that point. I’m tired. I’m out of breath. I’ve been in Italy for three weeks. I’ve done 20,000+ steps a day climbing flights of stairs like I’m tired like I’m just ready to eat pack sleep and go and I send a message asking if anyone knew that the elevator is broken. I did get a reply saying that they were made aware and that a technician was out in 20 minutes. They’ll be able to repair it and I said great. I’m leaving tomorrow. I know this is not your problem. It’s my personal problem but I have over 60 pounds of luggage and I really don’t wanna carry it down nine flights of stairs and they said I completely understand. We’re so sorry for the inconvenience. It’ll be fixed by tomorrow morning. In my head perfect great I have the car picking me up at 8 o’clock again the office doesn’t open till 830, when I do my final check of everything I’m ready. I leave my room. I go get breakfast. I come back. I do another final check and then I get all my stuff and I’m leaving. The elevator is not working which I knew when I went to breakfast but I was like oh maybe somebody has it open on the floor and they’re trying to get it it’s fine. I’ll calm the stairs down so I didn’t think that it was broken. I thought it was being a use cause it sounded like it was when I came back. I realized it was stuck on another floor. The doors were open the elevator was broken still, I tried calling like I tried doing it. I tried calling the emergency line. I tried reaching out to people and saying hey, like the elevator is broken is there anyway that someone can get it fixed like I’m about to leave nothing no answer no replies to my message. OK great so at that point I’m bringing down four different bags over 60 pounds of not just the stuff I brought but all the stuff I acquired during my stay and I’m out of breath. I ended up falling halfway down a flight of stairs as I was bringing everything down. I twisted my ankle and I pulled something in my my knee. When I reached out, there was no reply no response, so after I left and got in the car to go to the airport I sent them a message. Inquiring about a night back. Instead, I was told that I should’ve called the emergency line I should’ve sent messages. I never did that that they checked my history and it was constant going back-and-forth to the fact that I felt belittled I sent pictures. I even put my phone in my boobs, to video me going down the stairs with my luggage and struggling, and even on the video you can hear me saying a curse word because I tripped on one of the fights of stairs and this was before I fell. It was an argument, and I told him I work in hospitality. I actually work at a deluxe resort I know, housekeeping, I know custodial I know food in Bay Regina merchandise I know front desk I know the whole experience and because I know the experience I know what compensation I do deserve and they told me basically I’m not getting anything. It was then that I reached out to Expedia in which I found out that because I booked a VIP hotel through them, I should’ve gone a VIP amenity in which I never received whatever it is what it is I never complained the whole time. I was there. I let everything else pass at this point I’m so mad I’m just letting it rip everything about the chipped paint. The shower house was disgusting. I felt unsafe in the environment. The pictures that are posted of this hotel do not an absolutely not do not match it. It is not clean. It is not pretty. It is not what you would expect of a hotel obviously I’m not looking to stay at a Hilton or any of the namebrand hotels. I’m looking for an authentic Italian hotel that I can’t get anywhere else to have a nice experience that I feel safe and clean. In which this hotel does not fit that criteria at all and I’ve saved at multiple hotels within the three weeks of me being in Italy as a whole all over the country. I don’t appreciate that. I had to reach out to my travel agency in order to get compensation and then when I did, the hotel told me that I was already compensated in which I was not because they told me that they would be contacting the hotel about my compensation and then I got $46 back $46. That is honestly ridiculous, but you know what it is what it is $46 to carry all my luggage down nine flights of stairs fell down the stairs, hurt my knee and angle and be told. I should’ve called the emergency line. I should’ve done better. I didn’t talk to anyone. And be told that it’s nice that you work in the hotel industry, but we’re sorry we didn’t fit your needs, but everyone else here loves us so you’re the problem basically is what was said to me. It was extremely degrading and I still think I deserve a full night back minus the $46 that I was already given but at this point, it is what it is. I’m leaving a review, even though they told me that my bad review will not count for all of the good reviews that they’ve received from every guest who has ever stayed there, which also degraded me and honestly pissed me off because it doesn’t matter that I’m typing this long message I’m giving them low reviews on Expedia on travel advisor on anywhere because people are gonna stay there. They’re gonna book it. They’re not gonna care when in reality. This hotel is not worth the money. The people that work there do not care about you and you could fall down the stairs probably bust your head open and you’re not gonna get one time from them. I will never be back to this hotel. I’d rather book on the other side of Italy and find a way to commute into Rome every day that I’m there if that is where I’m going, then staying at this hotel. I also didn’t appreciate all the people on the corner at numerous hours trying to get my attention as a solo traveler, and I understand what I’m getting into as a solo traveler, but I shouldn’t have felt like the location I was in was dirty, sketchy, and unsafe as well. The pictures again never gave me that impression which is why I booked There and I can honestly say that I will be doing even more extensive research next time I book, even though I booked this a year in advance and did you do the research and checked all the reviews and pictures. This hotel was not the hotel for me, and that is OK, but I don’t want anybody going into this the way that I went into this.
