Guest Reviews
- Devi Raj (10/5): - The receptionist is great! The kindest person you can meet. He stayed late to hand us the keys and didn't say a word about it. In fact he was super nice even when he needn't be
- thomas (10/5): I would come back here in a minute - Beautiful view, quaint cottage with sand Beach
- Jose (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): We had a great stay and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. - The cabin was clean, great beds and nice to be close to the water.
- Neo (8/5): -
- Heartfillia (10/5): It was a refreshing trip that helped us reconnect with ourselves. - I loved how everyone was so friendly, a dream had stories to share about places for us to visit. I have nothing to complain about.
- Heath (8/5): Great location with a very clean family friendly beach. - Very clean property and the beach was great. Staff was very friendly. Cabin was cozy and close to everything. Really not even worth mentioning but the bathroom sink was literally the size of a shoebox, my wife couldn't even wash her face before bed.
- Donald (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Jarold (10/5): Fantastic thats all I can say it was as you would expect! 10/10!! - Everything was absolutely fantastic!! Very clean and nice cabins! Nothing everything was perfect
- Scott (10/5): Great stay - Location was great right off the Lake. Comfortable and very clean. We were vacationing with friends and facilite offered us a joint cabin which was awesome There was construction and it was very loud in the morning.
- BARBARA (9/5): -
- Mary (9/5): Very clean. Comfortable bed. - Very clean. Beautiful beach. Good service.very

- Sandra (10/5): - Beautiful cabin spacious well accommodating our needs. Peaceful and pleasant with beautiful views of Mackinaw Bridge Mackinaw Island right on the beach and lake. Very close to Mackinaw city. Relaxing and enjoyable weekend with Truck show and parade Saturday. Will recommend to friends. Manager was pleasant and made sure our weekend was nice and we had everything we needed.
Thank you so much . There was not anything or a situation we did not like.
- Carole (10/5): Loved the new cabins. Would go back. - We stayed in one of the new cottages and it was perfect. My priority is cleanliness and this cabin was clean. The location on the beach exceeded my expectations. I recommend this to other families!
- Alyssa (2/5): Disappointing - Property had a lot of potential Our experience here wasn’t what we had hoped for our 1st anniversary trip. Check in on the website says 4-9 and we recieved a call from Martin at 6:30 asking where we were as he was eager to close up since he’s been working 16 hour days since April. We were on the Island and felt as if we had to rush to get there. I had explained that the check out time on the website says it’s until 9 pm to which he stated the website wasn’t updated with the season hours. I called him back explaining we felt rushed and it didn’t seem fair for us to feel like we had to cut our vacation short, I asked if we went and found a room somewhere else if we would’ve been refunded so he could close up. He said no and then explained to take our time and he would wait and we were the last ones he was waiting on. We got there and he was nice and gave us some casino credits then went on to explain we weren’t getting the room we booked and paid for, he moved us to a different room which was tucked away in the “woods” which was a cabin with no lights or visible from the road because it was tucked in between 3 other cabins. Definitely not the cabin we thought we were booking by the water/beach. We had to walk a dark pathway to get there using our phone flashlights so we didn’t fall since there were no lights and the porch light was out on our cabin. I think our room was sold to someone else and he gave us this room instead. The whole situation felt off to us and didn't feel safe. Needless to say we were very disappointed and ended up not staying here for the night. We went somewhere else that could better accommodate us.

- Barbara (10/5): Cozy, RUSTIC, log cabin, beach cottage that made for a warm, pleasant stay. Will return here. - Cozy RUSTIC, individual cabin directly ON THE BEACH. We had a small porch with chairs to sit and look at the view of the Mackinaw Bridge, and Mackinaw Island. The beach was lovely and only a stone's throw to the water. There was the ability to bring your own wood for a bonfire on the beach. The room was very comfortable and very clean. Loved having a couch and small kitchen cubby with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Mathew was friendly, helpful and sweet when checking in. A TOTAL DELIGHT. Loved the rustic, log cabin feel--warm and cozy.
Make sure to ask where the porch light switch is located. We couldn't find the switch for the porch light so had to unload in the dark. It was a challenge since we had to walk on the sand to get to our front door. Later Matthew told us where the light switch was. We would never have guessed. Next time, we'll unpack the car in the light of day.
- Bill Deschaine (10/5): - The manager is spectacular here. He was very accommodating towards us and the other guests. The rest of the hotels could do well to learn from him. The price gouging from the family that owns the hotels in Mackinaw City.
- Hughes (10/5): -
- Xi (10/5): -
- Rene (8/5): . - Clean and friendly staff TV wasn’t working and it was very small (which we had been told).
- Debra (10/5): - Very nice
- Margaret (8/5): - The heater was not adequate for the weather!
- Cindy (10/5): - It was a great kitchen. You could cook a small meal. The porch was fantastic with a view. Sunrises were wonderful.
- Cheryl (10/5): - The cottage was comfortable and clean. NA
- Kristi (7/5): I would recommend for a larger family visit and for larger groups if you want to gather indoors - We stayed in two spaces — the large upper-level room with three queen beds above the office building, and a cozy lakefront cottage. The large room was unique (as described) and worked out wonderfully for our family — grandparents, adult children, and grandbabies. It offered plenty of space for gathering when we weren’t out exploring town. Be aware there are quite a few stairs to reach it. The windows were tricky to operate and could use a good cleaning, but with some effort we were able to get them open and closed when needed.
The lakefront cottage had two queen beds and served well as a comfortable place to sleep, with beautiful views of the water — though the window webs and smudges did distract a bit from the scenery. The exterior appears more recently updated than the interior, but overall it was a pleasant stay. The location was excellent — close enough to walk to the east end of town and enjoy all it has to offer. There was no kitchenette area in this room which would have been fitting.
- Mark (9/5): Great place to stay! - Everything was perfect, the cottages were clean, organized and well kept. The staff was so helpful and friendly and the rates were affordable! Our new favorite stay in Mackinac!
- BRIGITTE (9/5): So cute cottage old school and very clean - Perfect location and the cottage was so clean On the beach sand
- Tammy (7/5): - The beautiful view, love that we can sit on the beach with a fire. The cottage was cute, but dirty upon arrival. A set of blinds were missing some of the blinds. The wall in the cottage was so dirty, I had to wipe it. The coffee pot was filthy, had to clean it, and the bathroom floor was coming up, and you can see outside through a gap under the bathroom window, and upon arrivalthere was a water bottle crunched up in the cotage, and itcwasnt ours. . We were originally supposed to go in cottage 10, but the guy called and changed cottages. Overall, it was a quaint little place. The idea that we were moved by the road, and you can hear everything. The fact that we were put in a dirty cottage.
- Sally (2/5): - The place was too primative for us. Especially when we saw thar all hotels in area were really nice, cheaper, and had vacancies. The pictures were much nicer, than actual property. Was disappointed and couldn't get any reimbursement. We left a day early and ate the cost.
- David (10/5): - Clean rooms, personable service from the manager by showing each cabin. Right on the beach
- Katherine (10/5): - Charming beachfront little cabin. Perfect for a fall getaway with kids. Kitchen was clean and very well stocked. Front porch was very cozy with comfortable rocking chairs to watch the ferries and my kids playing in the lake or on the sand. Beds were comfortable and bunk beds perfect for kids. Property manager explained the heating/cooling unit well so we kept it at a comfortable temp for warm days and cool nights. The bunk bed linens were a little discolored when we arrived but the manager immediately replaced with brand new linens when pointed out. There were an over abundance of towels to use which was quite helpful. Definitely would come back!
- Sylvia (10/5): - Very helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Gary (9/5): -
- grube (10/5): - How close the lake is No plugs by the beds
- mullins (10/5): Great - Very nice Nothing
- jake (2/5): - Was not a good time we had 2 nights there we left 4 hr in
- Andrew (10/5): - Cabins are old on the outside but completly new on the inside. Loved that we steped out our front door and were on the beach.Wished that the weather was better so that we could have a fire on the beach.
- Cox (8/5): Definitely will put it on the list to possibly stay again if and when we are in the area. - Location was perfect for our trip, and it was on the beach. Should have extended our stay to partake of the beach or maybe a beachside fire. Landscaping a bit over grown.
- tara (8/5): Cute place on the water. - Sitting at the beach at Lake Huron is lovely. Beach is clean and well maintained. Cottages clean and cute. Maybe a little tired. Shower was tricky.
- Daniel (6/5): Just ok. I wasn’t blown away :( - Location was great. You’re right there in the beach. Fantastic! The onsite worker was knowledgeable and there was plenty of towels and coffee in the front office if you needed more for the room. The cottage its self was not comfortable. There were wooden chairs for the dining set. And 2 more wooden chairs lounge. It just wasn’t a comfortable place to relax.
- Gina (9/5): Great place with Great view - We loved the beach view, the accommodations, close to town, helpful staff, etc. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful and just big enough for 5 of us. Absolutely loved sitting on the front porch in the rocker The website was hard to understand. There were a lot of cobwebs around light fixtures inside, etc,
- Shannon (10/5): The property was clean and affordable and located close to shopping areas and the Ferry. - I liked the location, the staff was friendly and the cottage was clean. The price was affordable for the one night we stayed. The beds were a bit hard and not real comfortable.
- Pat (8/5): nice stay, loved the location - great cabin, plenty of sleeping space, comfortable beds, right by the beach, private beach space, quiet. owner very friendly. my car battery died, he found someone to jumpstart it for me and helped me find a mechanic. would definately stay there again
- Jamie (10/5): Great stay - The cabin was really cute, very clean. The bed was comfortable. Very nice guy at the front desk.
- Elsie (10/5): A great place to stay. It was a short distance to our trip to Mackinaw Island. - I liked the host. He was pleasant and informative about the area. He answered all our questions and was readily available if we needed him. I liked everything
- Rinehart (8/5): - Owner was super helpful, even though things didnt turn out as planned on our end. Gorgeous location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms aren't anything fancy, but that's why the price is more reasonable. They are clean (thanks Daneika! you did great), comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful, which made for an enjoyable stay.
- Dixon (8/5): -
- Lorraine (10/5): Awesome family time relaxation - Everything was great. Bunk beds were not comfortable at all. Would like a tv in that space The WIFI was aweful.
- Autumn (10/5): Birthday Retreat. - I rented this as a birthday gift for my daughter and her bf of 6 years. They had a wonderful experience!! The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. They want to go back and take me with them because they enjoyed themselves so much.
- Ted (8/5): - Heater hard to get adjusted was either too hot or too cold
- Diane (8/5): -
- William (10/5): Mackinaw City - Very friendly staff, clean cabin. Enjoyed the lake front location.
- Gary (6/5): - Cabins are very dated. Old carpet old furniture. Felt like chairs and tables were going to break. Bathroom door was paneling with a hook for a lock. We could have have paid almost half and stayed someplace better. Nice to have beach access but just about every hotel has beach access. Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms were clean but BERY dated. Falling apart.
- Small (10/5): -
- Rooney (5/5): Beach cabins - I liked how the room was essentially two cabins in one. I also appreciated the broom outside to brush off sand and lots of soap and shampoo in the room. The cabin had a beautiful view of the water. Although he was grouchy, the clerk was knowledgeable about the area and shared valuable information that made our trip smoother. Front desk clerk was a bit grouchy. Room had issues such as sink not draining and toilet having hot water which was weird it left the room stinky and steamy. There was not enough firepits for everyone at night and the barbecue stations weren't very apparent. Tried to get ice for cooler and clerk was always sort of nosy and hovering. The price should have been much less for the quality of the room.
- Charles (10/5): - Wonderful!
- Cailah (10/5): - Room was super clean, staff was accommodating and friendly! Super affordable as well, will definitely stay again!!
- Kristina (10/5): I would definitely stay here again and would prefer a cabin right on the beach. It wouldn’t be as private because it’s o - Beautiful location, private parking for one car per unit, plenty of towels and room amenities. There was no bedside shelf for one of the queen beds. I made one out of a chair and had brought an extension cord to run from the bathroom since there were no outlets by the bed. The screen door did not stay closed in the gusty wind. I had to prop a plastic chair as close as I could against it, reaching out from inside the cabin.
- Jennifer (9/5): Pretty cabins on beach; friendly staff - Location was wonderful! Our first night we had a small cabin but it was next to the pool, which my son loved. The second night the manager kindly upgraded us to a beachfront cabin and it was gorgeous! Much bigger and the view! Plus you can come and sit on the beach no matter what cabin you have, and there are chairs and fire pits. The office will lend you almost anything you might need, from s'mores forks to beach toys. And there were fireworks Saturday night! We had expected a bit more of a kitchen (I probably misread the description) so we were disappointed that we couldn't boil water for tea. And the second room had quite an odor of pot smoke - even my husband noticed and he can't smell anything. But there are lots of windows and it aired out fine.
- david (10/5): - Nice old cabins. Clean, good service, close to beach.
- Carol (10/5): Great Place Overall - We were very pleased with our cottage, and so was my father-in-law who had the one next door. We wished we'd been able to stay for more than one night so as to experience all that the Beach House had to offer, as well as the surrounding area. My only complaint (which I communicated to the manager on staff - who was very helpful) was that they didn't have any electrical outlets easily accessible except in the bathroom and kitchen areas. The only other outlets were for lamps over the beds, and the outlets were behind the beds and not accessible. Not being able to plug our phones in near the bed or my computer in when I needed to check my emails was frustrating.

- Jonathan Booking (10/5): -
- Grace (10/5): - Staff was friendly and easy check in. Cabins are clean and comfortable. Nice beach if you want to have a fire or swim. Easy to get on the Mackinac ferry if staying here
- Pamela (10/5): - We got there early. Very accommodating. Awesome place to stay.
- Lindsey (10/5): - Water front cabin #30 is rustic and clean. Amazing views and friendly staff. We will visit again.
- Lauren Foster-Smart (8/5): - The location is really great. Close to but outside of town. Very easy access to ferries, dining, and shopping. The pool is quite nice, heated. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Overall nice old-style cabins.
Our family has been staying here for over 30 years so there are lots of memories. While the updates are really nice, the sinks are very small. The old original kitchenette sinks were a good size. Now the bathroom sink is hardly big enough to brush your teeth in. The kitchen sink which looks like a bathroom sink makes it very hard to wash up dishes.
The hot tub is quite old.

Office staff were amazing.
Cabins had good bed linens and clean on the surface. They could use a good wipe down of baseboards and dusting.
We rented 3 cabins and had a great stay and would stay there again. Location is amazing. Cold ac. Again Martin who runs the office was super nice.

- Tara (8/5): - Property manager was amazing and helpful. Room furniture could use some updating (headboard, kitchen equipment, tv stand and tv).
- Sydney (10/5): - Location on beautiful beach. Updated cabins nicely done. Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful.
- Abay Damte (8/5): -
- MILLER (9/5): - The property was on Lake Huron beach and was really relaxing.
- Stephanie (10/5): My daughter and I took a last minute trip to Mackinaw and just needed someplace to sleep and get ready. Our cabin was pe - It was steps away from the beach!! My only complaints were 2 small ones. One, there were not enough outlets and two, there was no shelf space in the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was excellent!!
- Melanie (6/5): - I liked how cute the property was. Being in a cabin right on the water was wonderful. Beds were very uncomfortable and thin. Everything was clean so that was a bonus.
The property manager was rude to us. We arrived prior to 4pm and asked if the cabin was ready and said if not, it was not a big deal, we would go explore and come back. He was rude and kept saying, "I cannot get anything done with these people bothering me all day". He did have a cabin ready for us and showed us where it was located. However, we were never provided the wifi password and we had to go back and ask, apparently there was a shuttle to the ferry we were not told about either. I saw people having a fire on the beach from the other cabins and I have no idea what that was about. Just some really poor communication on check in not making us feel welcome. The place was cute, but he made the excitement we had for the place disappear.
- Heather (8/5): -
- Uriel (9/5): - Staff. Daniela the house keeper and Mark, the manager were great. helpful, knowledgeable and very nice.
- Llewellyn (9/5): - We stayed on the 2nd floor of the office/house. The boys had plenty of room to run. We didn't have to worry about anyine below or above us. We had a nice view of the lake and bridge from the porch.
