• Jillian (10/5): Hemels eten en heerlijk geslapen - De mensen zijn hier erg vriendelijk, niet alleen voor mensen ook voor honden. De hond mag ook mee het restaurant in wat onwijs fijn is als je met een hond reist. Het hotel zit in een prachtig en rustig dorpje waar je heerlijk doorheen kunt wandelen. Ze hebben ook een privat parking. Het bijbehorende restaurant met zijn chef is wat mijn verblijf niet alleen goed maar fantastisch maakte. Jeetje wat heb ik zitten genieten van het eten!! Absoluut Michelin waardig en zeer terecht beloond met een ster in 2025. En wat een heerlijk personeel, uiterst vriendelijk en denken met je mee. Geen wijn paring bij het eten, dan verzinnen ze wat anders. Erg leuk!

• Jean Pierre (7/5): Décevant car je salivais à l’idée de deguster de bons petits plats et le service a vraiment plombé ma soirée - La gastronomie est vraiment top ! L’accueil froid, le service pareil, seule une jeune dame œnologue était sympa. Pour moi, bien cuisiner est certainement le point principal, mais j’aime aussi me retrouver dans un cadre chaleureux… et ce n’était vraiment pas le cas.

• AndyS (9/5): Gutes Hotel mit exzellentem Restaurant - Wir suchten ein Hotel in der Nähe von Valence und stiessen das Le Carré d'Alethius. Es liegt in einem etwas unscheinbaren Dorf abseits der Hauptstrasse. Das Auto kann in einem geschlossenen Parkring abgestellt werden. Das Zimmer erlebten wir als sehr sauber, preiswert und mit guten Betten ausgestattet. Quasi als Beifang, denn bei der Buchung fiel es uns nicht auf, konnten wird das hoteleigene Restaurant mit 14 Gault Millau Punkten geniessen. Trotz der hohen Bewertung ist es bodenständig und unkompliziert geblieben. Schon alleine des Restaurants wegen lohnt sich der Aufenthalt. Service und Hotelpersonal sind sehr angenehm, aufmerksam und effizient. Das abschliessende Frühstück passte zum sehr guten Eindruck.

• Jürgen (9/5): Ein empfehlenswertes Hotel mit ausgezeichneter Küche - Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut, besonders die verschiedenen Marmeladensorten schmeckten sehr gut, waren wahrscheinlich hausgemacht. Hervorzuheben ist das hoteleigene Restaurant, die Speisen dort mundeten hervorragend.
• kimberley (7/5): Good for 1 night stay, be aware of limited good choices in the town. - Clean and good location for our drive down south. Breakfast nice, parking in secure car park at no cost. Michelin star restaurant on site did not cater for vegetarians and fairly costly as a set tasting menu. Made to feel a little uncomfortable when we didn’t book and there was only one other restaurant in the town open however this was a pizza place which was yummy so worked out well! Bathroom was a little tired, toilet seat loose and not much attention given to the smaller things ( exposed plumbing under sink but I am being picky!)

The evening meal was delicious and the service couldn't be faulted, with nice, friendly waiters. The room was large and comfortable and excellent value, although we would have liked a larger bathroom. We were able to park outside the hotel with no problem. It is just off a busy main road but the hotel itself is very quiet. The carpet in the room has seen better days!

We would prefer some simple food which is not really the scope and focus of this hotel Being a Saturday evening we found other local restaurant options were non existent due to their holiday closures.

• James (10/5): Amazing find and totally recommend! - Lovely charming beautique hotel with an amazing Michelin starred restaurant attached. Very friendly & helpful owner host. We took two small dogs and they were super accommodating. The room was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. They had put thought into what you need fro your stay. The village is beautiful too. We plan to go back again! Great they have a private car park - only thing was it's at the back you have to carry your luggage around to the front which seems trivial expect when you are carrying for 2 people and 2 dogs :)

• Simon (9/5): If you have one luxury meal on your trip, have it here.... - We had booked Le Carre de Alethius simply as an overnight stop to break our journey after a long day driving in the Gorges of Ardeche and before heading on to Burgundy. We had limited expectations. However, this lovely family-run hotel - a clever conversion of an old building on the edge of a quiet village - provided us with a friendly welcome; a comfortable, simple yet attractively decorated room (we stayed in the Coral Room); parking in a secure garage area and, above all, one of the most wonderful, luxurious meals we have ever experienced in the hotel's stylishly decorated yet intimate dining room. We pushed the boat out and went for the wine waiter's wonderful recommendations for what to drink with each elegant course and were not disappointed. This is fine dining at it's best and not for the budget traveller - but turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. Breakfast was also good with local cheeses; interesting pastries/bread and locally made jams etc. Highly recommended - especially if you book for dinner (and booking is essential) and are prepared to splash out. The hotel is close to a busy road and there was some traffic noise in the morning - but not a big problem. Access to the bedrooms is by stairs only (there is no lift) so if you have any mobility issues this might be worth bearing in mind.
• Susan (9/5): Just perfect! - The Hotel was a very pleasant small ‘boutique’ property which we loved. I must mention the pillows - very comfortable which is really unusual in French hotels! As for the Restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious - quite incredible value for money. Excellent, professional staff. Safe parking for the car was appreciated. Would have loved to stay longer but we were on our way South to our house. Looking forward to another stay… Nothing at all.

Un très bon accueil et un dîner au restaurant inoubliable. Des saveurs et des accords inattendus, réveil des papilles assuré: un enchantement gustatif créé avec des produits de saison et provenant de France. Tout notre respect au chef et merci pour ce beau moment...

Très bon accueil et le personnel est très attentif à vos demandes. Le tout petit moins est que les chambres donnent sur la cour qui est aussi la terrasse du restaurant.

• Jean Claude (8/5): Plateau Repas - Séjour agréable. Le village où est situé l’hôtel n’est pas particulièrement attractif et un peu trop à l’écart par rapport au réseau autoroutier. Rien à dire concernant l’hôtel, l’accueil et les prestations. Un bémol pour la cuisine, s’agissant d’une table gastronomique. Nous étions prévenus que le soir de notre arrivée, le restaurant était fermé,mais qu’un plateau repas à 25€ serait possible. Nous avons choisi cette option, mais nous avons été (très) déçus par celui-ci : nourriture fade et présentation ´´cheap’’ pris dans un cadre agréable néanmoins. Nous souhaitons bien entendu à toute l’équipe de bien rebondir après le choc subi du fait du COVID.
