Guest Reviews
- RICHARD (2/5): - they served instant coffee for the complimentary continental breakfast!
- Jennifer (6/5): - This is an old Paris hotel with no lift and a narrow staircase. If you know that and have light luggage you will be fine.
Room was fine. Interior could use a makeover but otherwise very clean. Air fresheners throughout. Window kept out a lot of noise but still noisy - that’s Paris!
Fantastic location with shopping and restaurants.
- Susan (8/5): - The location of this hotel is perfect. There are plenty of shops and restaurants very nearby. It was also easy to access buses and trains and to visit all the famous sites
- eugene (4/5): - Not what I expected
- Oscar (6/5): - The location (for the price tag) and the friendliness of the staff are the stars of this hotel. Everything else needs some massive upgrades. I was only there for one night, so it was fine, and i was happy with the stay all together. Remember no AC, and no elevator.
- Jeffrey (4/5): - This is the kind of hotel I would have stayed in as a college student. It is a basic room for cheap. Now as an adult, I think it was pretty subpar. There is no air conditioning so be aware of that (cheaper hotels we stayed at in France had a/c). The shower was something like what we saw when we traveled in Cameroon. The staff was very helpful, very friendly, and solicitous. The location is great to be right near Les Halles and the subway and the RER. There were lots of good dining options and the center of Paris is just a very short walk away. If you are a budget traveler, don't mind a relatively dirty room, a pretty bad shower, no air conditioning, and a very narrow staircase to get to your room, this might be a choice for you. If you want any sort of luxury or convenience, this might not be a good choice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - The hotel was basically what I expected from the description. It is a very basic hotel. Small room, tiny bathroom. But it was clean, comfortable, and in an excellent location. My daughter and I had an overnight layover and the hotel was minutes from the train stations for both airports and a perfect location for sightseeing most things in the short time we had. The receptionist was very nice and gave us a room with an extra small bed. She was very friendly and helpful with all of my questions. Be warned that the steps to the rooms are very narrow and steep. It was fine with our carry-on but would not want to carry a big suitcase up. If I have another layover again in Paris I will definitely stay there.
- Iain (8/5): Great hotel but it so needs a re-vamp. - A great hotel with friendly staff.
The hotel is in a brilliant location but sadly the hotel does need a complete re-vamp. It is very outdated although the rooms were clean and the bedding and towels were spotless.
- Richard (8/5): Downtown Paris - The hotel is a good value in the heart of Paris. I found the room very clean and it met my basic needs nicely. It is a bit quirky, 6th floor room with narrow staircase and no elevator. I had a backpack, no luggage, so this worked for me. Staff at the desk was very pleasant and easy to work with.
- Jill (4/5): - Aurelie and the other folks (two different gentlemen) were as nice as one gets. The bed sheets were very clean. Whoever owns this money needs to put some money into the rooms. The maintenance guy/cleaner were awesome too, and very polite and helpful! The other guests were quiet, although we think the person next to us was smoking cigarettes. The 'hood is really loud, but hey, you ARE right in the middle of Paris. With that said, the charge for the room should be about 20 bucks, not over 100.
- Joseph (6/5): - The location was great but the room itself was so hot that it was hard to be in there. We opened the window and turned the fan on but it was almost no help. We really enjoyed the location.
- Kerry (8/5): - Narrow stairs luckily we got put 2nd storey no elevator
Hot so room was sticky luckily had a fan
- Paul (4/5): - This place is dumpy and located in a very noisy area.
My standards aren't very high but I still think this place needs a make-over. But the shabby appearance makes several standard things feel like nice surprises (ie, clean white sheets, hot water, apparent lack of bed bugs and other insects).
No A/C means the window needs to remain open to maintain a comfortable room temp. I knew this from previous guests' comments going in. What I didn't know is that this is a bar district. Lots of people yelling and shouting until the early hours of the morning. I wear earplugs when I sleep and even they didn't help very much.
Also, the wifi didn't work on the 4th floor. And two of the three front desk workers I interacted with were disinterested and rude. The third employee is a really nice guy.
Next time I am in Paris I will pay more money to stay in better accommodations.
- Kent (2/5): - Hotel du Pont Neuf is the WORST hotel I have ever booked thru any service, but especially with Hotels.com. Do not consider it. I'm requesting a refund from Citibank because the hotel doesn't care. Our room had MOLD, EXPOSED WIRES, BEDBUGS AND WAS SO SO DIRTY. I have never seen a more disgusting hotel. (do not be fooled by the seemingly good location), the BAD outweighs the good. Stay in a dumpster near a train station for a better night.
- justin (2/5): - I would rate this as a 1 star only. Old hotel and needs updating. This is below some hostels
i have stayed in as a student.
- Anna (4/5): - Helt ok!
- dave (10/5): - Quaint building in a wonderful area of Paris, room was fine although a little oddly arranged, the staff were wonderful. It’s an old hotel but nothing unexpected.
- Kyle (6/5): - Room was decent for the price, it was very small though. Also be prepared to walk up multiple steep flights of stairs if you get a room on an upper floor.
- Birgitta (4/5): - Ingen hiss mkt branta trappor för gamla ben. Störande ljud från serveringar. Nedgånget, ej TV
MEN mycket trevlig personal
- Ryan (8/5): - The hotel was in a great location, relatively. And the staff were great. I considered it because it was also one of the cheapest in the area to stay there.
The only real problem I had was that the shower curtain really needs to be washed. It smells terrible and makes the room smell terrible.
I already knew the room was going to be small and the shower was abnormally small. And because of that, you can’t help but get water on the floor and have to manually use the shower head to wash as it won’t wash you when it’s on the hook.
But generally it was a very good stay, and if you’re of medium build or smaller, you can manage the shower.
Platz
- Melissa (4/5): - The hotel needs some serious upgrades. It was more like a motel. Very old, room was tiny, bathroom shower you could only take 1 step forward and 1 back. I hit my arms on the shower handle several times. No elevator.
- Chris (8/5): - If youre looking for a clean, safe place to stay with excellent customer service and incredibly located (5 min walk from the Louvre) than you cant ask for a better place to stay.
If you want fancy and lots of amenities, youre best checking elsewhere
- Ulf (2/5): - Not a great place to stay.
- Agneta (8/5): - Centrat och nära till sevärdigheter. Minimal komfort men hjälpsam och trevlig personal.
- Steven (8/5): - Na
- Karolina (10/5): Very happy with the place - Amazing place in the heart of Paris
- Emmanuel (4/5): - I will not recommend the hotel to someone else. Some staff members are good, bt others should not be in the hospitality business.
- Sam (4/5): CHEAP HOTEL YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR - I booked this hotel because it was the cheapest hotel in the area and I got exactly that. Small uncomfortable room, smelly bathroom and shower that barely worked. WIFI did not work at all. But it is VERY INEXPENSIVE. I was happy with what I got because I knew what I was going into.
- Natalie (10/5): Great location! - Hreat value for money. It is an old building with low ceilings and slanted floors, but it is clean. Staff are great! Know that its a walk up, so lots of stairs. Perfect location. Thanks for a great visit!
- Iain (6/5): Handy and good value - Handy hotel for Louvre and Pompidou centre.
Not luxurious but had what I needed - comfy bed and hot water in shower.
If you like fancy hotels I wouldn't book here. If you need an economic place to stay, yes.
- Marjorie (10/5): - Small room but very comfortable and reasonably priced.
A bit sparce on bathroom necessities such as soap and shower gel. Had some issues with the toilet flushing.
- John (6/5): - This is a small, older property which is inexpensive compared to other properties in the area. As long as you don't have too high expectations, this can be a pleasant and economical place to stay near Notre Dame, the Louvre and other tourist sites.
- DON (8/5): - It was ok. Friendly staff, meager room.
- tanya (8/5): good budget choice - If you are looking for value for money this does give this - it is the cheaper end so it is tired but it was cool height of summer, and affordable height of olympics. The bed was clean and the staff were lovely and its in the centre of things so you do get what oyou pay for but we felt it was a good choice
- William (6/5): - Very plain
Living with inadequate bath facilities. And no elevator. Cheap hotel in a great location.
- Sebastian (6/5): - jhjhjhjh
- Tiffanee (10/5): - I loved this old hotel! You have to keep the key in the door in case of fire to let youreelf out and there was no fire alarm in my room, but other than that, it was great. There were tons of restaurants right outside and I easily walked to the Louvre. The staff are great and very helpful. There is no elevator, so I had to carry my luggage up 5 flights of stairs.
- Mattias (4/5): - Usel std
- Verified traveler (2/5): DO NOT BOOK - If you find this hotel in your feed, turn around and do not look back. Seriously: DO NOT BOOK. But it is so cheap! Yes, DO NOT BOOK. But it has a good location. Yes, DO NOT BOOK. But it has positiv reviews. Yes, the hotel has some renovated rooms that count for positive rebiews but probably you will not be lucky. You will be stuck with high stairs with no elevator, no AC and probably no warm water (and in worst case no water at all). Final advice: DO NOT BOOK!
- John (10/5): - Aurélie at the hotel desk was extremely helpful in a number of ways. Other staff were helpful, too.
- JESUS (8/5): - Ok
- Mogens (4/5): Have seen better days - Great location. Nice people. Butvtge hotel has seen better days. The wifi is so slow and erratic, i could not even check mail. And there is not alway hot water in the shower. But it is not expensive for Paris.
- Cristhian (6/5): - It was close of restaurants and of the metro, a safe place to walk at any time, the hotel managers were kind. What I didn't like is the bathroom because is very old and poor maintained having an weird oddor, their POS wasn't working so the manager asked to pay in cash only (the hotel only charged one night through expedia), then I had to withdraw money to cover the other nights in cash. I book the hotel to expedia expecting to pay everything with credit card.
Vanvittig god beliggenhed.
Virkelig beskidt rum, bruseniche er under 1 kvm.
- Daniel (2/5): - Pas d'Internet. Propreté médiocre avec poils dans la chambre. Douche toute petite...
- Daniel (10/5): - Toilet backed up into shower
- WILLIE (6/5): - Great location, good staff, old hotel. Good value for location.
- F C (4/5): - Price compared to others on the area is not to bad according to the location.
Staf very friendly and cooperative.
One hotel Need minimum in 2021 one smal tv, one usb port charger, a nice painting for the walls, super clean And no broken toilet.
Cold and hot water ok.
Location good. Close to subway.
- Andrea (6/5): - Razoável,. E um hotel apenas para dormir. Mas é muito bem localizado.
- Bouchacourt (2/5): - Sans commentaire
- Karri (8/5): Kohtuullinen hotelli loistavalla paikalla! - Kelpo hotelli erittäin hyvällä paikalla. Aamiaista saa lähikuppiloista ja vaikka kaupasta.
- john (2/5): Avoid this place - This place sucks. Dirty, outdated and saw mice running around. Please avoid this place despite the good location.
Accueil bienveillant.
- Mourad (8/5): Great location - The staff are very friendly, the location is excellent. The hotel need to be renewed. There is no Tv.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location is so central, rooms are quite ok
- Koy (8/5): Good for a city break/pit stop hotel - The people were lovely. Respectful and hospitable.
- Mimi (2/5): - The only pro it’s the location, other than that needs It’s in really bad conditions, needs to be remodeled completely.
- Marie (2/5): Worst Hotel Ever - This was the worst hotel I have ever been it. It appeared to be a rent by the hour if you were desperate. The hotel smelled bad. The room was so small you practically hit the bed when you entered the room. The furniture was all damaged and I expected to see bugs when we entered. We could not stay there and be able to sleep. I wouldn't have put my head down in that room. The hotel has no elevator and the stairs are very narrow and not clean at all. I would highly recommend that people be warned before booking this hotel even in an emergency.
- Lenka (10/5): Great location, nice room and very friendly staff - Great location
Friendly and efficient staff, very accommodating
Nice room, clean
Would definitely come back!
- Lorenzo (10/5): Good location - Everything was good, only the shower is so small, but the service is great !! Thanks

I could not complete the survey since it disappeared .
I found the hotel to be the worst in my 86 years. Except for the central location and the price, and the staff, who try to make their best of a horrible situation, there was little that was of acceptable standard found in all hotels in all countries.
We could not take a shower in 7 days since there hardly was any hot water in the impossibly tiny and shabby shower. You could not sit on the w.c. without rubbing against the wall. The toilet door could not be shut completely in room 11 , where it hangs and slides whimsically , and the so-called upgraded room 10.
There was no TV in the room, nor in the so-called lobby, which was so small that you could not stand at the desk without blocking the passage. There was a small semi-circular table with two tiny chairs, which were mostly occupied by oft same grumpy men drinking wine or tea.So you could neither stand nor sit for any purpose. The wi-fi did not work in the room, so we could not open the laptop and communicate for 7 d
- Verified traveler (8/5): Thank you - Fantastic base to stay in and visit Paris the staff were very helpful and friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well France is just old. When I arrived there was a sign on the door saying come back at 5:30. Fortunately, the manager showed up and took my bags. So on a positive note, they remedied the issue and were nice as can be. The location was excellent and a fair price, but the property could definitely use some upgrading
