Andreas (4/5): Das Hotel ist in die Jahr gekommen. Preis-/Leistung passen hier nicht zusammen. - Wir hatten hier für 7 Nächte gebucht, sind aber nach 6 Nächten von Mücken zerstochen abgereist. Bei unserer Anreise/Ankunft (ca.15.00 Uhr) war die Rezeption nicht besetzt. Ca. 30 Minuten später kamen zwei junge Frauen auf Quads um die Ecke, welche sich dann als die erwarteten Rezeptionistinnen vorstellten. Nach einem kurzen Gespräch hat man uns dann die Gesamtrechnung für den Aufenthalt vorgelegt und gefragt ob wir Bar oder mit Karte bezahlen. Als ich den zu zahlenden Betrag anschaute fragte ich, warum hier die ca. 25 % Anzahlung, welche vom Hotel bereits eingezogen wurde, nicht abgezogen wurde. Ich erhielt die Antwort, das dies als zusätzliche Sicherheit einbehalten wird. Dies lehnte ich ab und sagte das ich entweder am Ende unseres Aufenthalts oder nur den noch offenen Betrag bezahle. Nach einigen Diskussionen einigten wir uns darauf dies am nächsten Tag mit dem Besitzer zu klären. Man erklärte uns dann, dass das Frühstück am nächsten Tag ab 09.00 Uhr im benachbarten Restaurant eingenommen werden kann. Am nächsten morgen um 09.10 Uhr war das benachbarte Restaurant noch menschenleer und verschlossen, genau wie unsere Rezeption. Um ca. 09.30 Uhr kam eine der Frauen vom Vortag und auf die Frage was denn mit dem Frühstück wäre sagte sie uns, das das benachbarte Restaurant geschlossen sei wegen eines Unwetters in der letzten Nacht. Wir könnten ja auch woanders frühstücken gehen. Nach einer kurzen Diskussion brachte sie uns dann in ein anderes benachbartes Hotel / Restaurant in welchem wir die Rechnung begleichen und mit der Quittung dann zu ihr zurück kommen sollten. Und dann passierte, genau wie erwartet, das sie uns nur ca. 2/3 des Rechnungsbetrags erstatten wollte. Auch hier wieder unnötige Diskussionen. Als wir die defekte A/C beim Besitzer ansprachen teilte er uns mit das wir uns in einem dritte Welt Land befinden und hier nicht immer alles funktioniert (das äußert sich leider nicht in den Preisen). Diego David (6/5): aceptable pero no corresponde a 5 estrellas y el costo es muy alto - lo que mas nos gusto fue lo amplio del apto, realmente no es un hotel, no presta los servicios de un hotel y menos 5 estrellas, deberia estar con otra categoria por el precio que tiene. El desayuno no es nada bueno, no esta dentro de la unidad, no debe ser estimado 5 estrellas, te lo sirven fuera como a 50 metros en un quiosco, no tiene variedad y la calidad es muy reducida, el parqueadero debes entrar y abrir tu mismo la reja, y el agua caliente funciona a veces.

Sarah (7/5): Preis Leistung stimmt nicht - Lage war gut. Strand gleich vor dem Hotel, Liegestühle kostenlos am Strand. Frühstück direkt am Strand Sehr ruhig auch nachts. Ausser am Wochenende kanns lauter werden wegen Party am Strand aber da kann das Hotel nichts dafür. Preis Leistung stimmt nicht. In der Unterkunft waren viele Sachen defekt (Toaster, Kühlschranklicht, Lampen, Toilettenspülung ist konstant gelaufen) und die Sauberkeit lies zu wünschen übrig. Viele Moskitos im Bad und Ameisen in der Unterkunft. Areal nicht rollstuhlgängig obwohl in der Beschreibung so deklariert: Lift ausser Betrieb ( auch wenn der Lift funktioniert muss man 4 Stufen überwinden bis zum Lift) uns wurde nichts erklärt, mussten beim Personal alles erfragen zum Beispiel wo das Frühstück ist. Kein Wasserspender im Zimmer und Areal. Um die Unterkunft zu zahlen, benötigten wir fast 2 Stunden und mehrere Anläufe. Zuerst sagten sie, dass man nur bar zahlen kann weil das Gerät kaputt sei, stattdessen wollten sie einfach nur Barzahlung weil sie keine Kreditkartengebühren zahlen wollten. Das ganze war sehr ärgerlich. Das Zimmer wurde nur auf Verlangen „gereinigt“.

Montserrat (6/5): Ubicación perfecta, hotel con falta de mantenimiento - Ubicación perfecta delante de una playa tranquila y muy bonita. La distribución del apartamento estaba muy bien, dos habitaciones, dos baños, un gran salon con cocina y una terraza maravillosa Le falta mantenimiento en general. Nos preocupo mucho durante la estancia el mal olor del agua de las griferias. Nos quejamos a diario y la actuación era poner cloro en el deposito de agua. Esto nos hizo sentir incomodos durante toda la estancia. No limpian la habitación a diario.

Judith (9/5): Very comfortable stay in a lovely apartment by the beach - The location was perfect, in a quiet area, just by the beach. The apartment was spotless and well equipped, with decent wifi and good tv options. I was traveling with a colleague, so I appreciated the intimacy our separated bathrooms provided. Breakfast on the beach was nice. With a minor investment, the shower in the main bathroom could be improved: the shower head could not be fixed on any support on the wall and thus had to be held by hand at all time. People will long hair will understand why showering with two free hands is an improvement :)

Yomerys (6/5): - I had a good experience over all, the place is just like what is shown in the pictures (just need to be really careful with the people). Although, There are a lot of mosquitoes, but they do give you a zapping racket. I just didn’t realize that I can use it on mosquitoes as well. Also, for payment they would prefer cash, or visa/Mastercard. Last, had an issue with one of the receptionist. I had her order food for us and she ordered it from this really cheap low quality place, and ended up charging me three times as much. Honesty is very import, and the staff shouldn’t abuse the guest’s trust.

Brian (8/5): Very good - Location was spectacular on Las Ballenas although road noise and loud music surround the location (not bad in the unit but the surrounding area). Cleanliness was good, shower small but lots of hot water, large space and great view. Close to a couple of good restaurants in particular Playa 18. Sesame chicken at the next door restaurant Eden was spectacular. Furniture a bit dated but comfortable.

Donald (8/5): Great apartment but a bit overpriced - The apartment itself was spacious and nicely furnished. The balcony had beautiful ocean views. There was another balcony off the bedroom. The beach area was close and the beach itself was perfect. The air conditioning was weak. The pool needed work. There was a deck off the bedroom, but no chairs. The staff at checkout was not helpful. They claimed the credit card processor was not working, and asked me to pay the entire bill in cash at an unfavorable exchange rate (58.00). I refused, and the credit card machine somehow started working again. Overall a very nice place but a bit overpriced.

Elias_0000 (6/5): Beautiful view of the beach and good breakfast - The room was good. The terrace was nice and the view was great. Breakfast was fine. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, Las Terrenas is a very noisy region. People (even neighbors) play loud music and this even at night when you want to sleep.

Rolando (9/5): Superb - The facility is great, ocean view! The staff is amazing and helpful. Lots of restaurant around it. All very clean. The apartment was great overall. Just needs minor improvements on the air conditioning and the lighting. But great place to stay.

janet (10/5): Great place! - Great location, many bars and restaurants within walking distance. Beautiful pool, everything very clean. No English spoken, so have your Google Translate ready. Nice wide beach. The road can be a little noisy at times. We felt very safe. Our first evening somehow my passport fell out of my purse on a lounge chair when we got up to take a walk. The groundskeeper turned it in, i was so thankful! Breakfast is a large buffet on the beach at the Colibre, a 30 sec walk.
Verified traveler (2/5): - The place was older and dirty looking. We did not even stay after checking in we left after 15 minutes. After complaining to the host and manager they argued with me that it was the best hotel on the beach. They wouldn’t refund any money. The family and I will never go back again.
Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location on the beach and rooms are decent with nice terrace. Second time staying there. First time AC didn’t work, this time it worked in living area but we did not get cold air in bedroom. At 90 degrees it stays hot at night. Not great sleep in those conditions ;) if heat doesn’t bother you you’re fine… Staff / owner doesn’t seem to be too concerned about this.

Verified traveler (8/5): On the best beach in Los Terranas. - Owner can be grumpy but his helper, Simon, who also speaks english, is absolutely professional, polite and pleasant to work with. If you're offered a *free* upgrade, don't take it. You will be asked to pay a surcharge the next day or move to what you booked initially which is annoying. We had to move the 2nd because we took the bait. This hotel is just close enough to be within walking distance of downtown (approx 20 minutes). Would come here again.
