- John (10/5): Perfect home for tourist - Breakfast was good and plentiful. location was perfect about 5 blocks in one direction was the National Cathedral. in the opposite direction was the centro market. Independence Square was about 4 blocks away. There were numerous restaurants between the hotel and Independence Square. Casa El Eden was more like a B&B than a hotel. Host could not do enough for you. Nothing
- eileent166 (10/5): Fantastic place to stay in Quito! - This place truly is a treasure! It is well located in the historic center of Quito. The accommodations are beautiful and spotlessly clean, and best of all the hosts are the sweetest, kindest people you will ever meet. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. And the price is very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Niets
- Eileen (10/5): - Everything was great - the owner-hosts, the rooms, the value was incredible.
- Muneer (10/5): A home away from home - Mario and Blanco were the most welcoming hosts we could have ever imagined. They made us feel like we were staying with family, always happy to have a chat and help us with our day to day activities. They were extremely attentive to all our needs. It is a beautiful hotel, artistic and wonderfully kept. Great location, in the centre of Quito old town.
- Irma (10/5): Excellent familie boutiek - De hele package, vriendelijk owners, niks was te veel. Droom koppel. Hele nette schone hotelkamers. Niets
- Kenneth (10/5): A perfect place to stay in the historic part of Quito. - The owners were of tremendous help, making excellent suggestions for travel. They displayed special love for Quito and it was great fun and informative to talk with them.
- Kim (10/5): Will stay here again if I’m ever back in Quito! - It felt more like a bed and breakfast with family-like hosts than a hotel. The house itself is beautiful - incredible architecture and ornate details; it was a lovely place to come home to everyday. Great location to all of the old town sites, 10 min walk to the metro if you’re looking to go further north in the city. Mario, Blanca and the staff are all so warm and inviting - I highly recommend!
Note: I’m a light sleeper so I brought ear plugs as my room was facing the street. If you’re not bothered by evening street noise though you’ll be fine!
- cynthias992 (10/5): Wonderful B&B in Quito - Mario and Blanca could not have been better hosts. They were welcoming, helpful, and attended to our every need. Our family stayed in two rooms and they were both delightful.
- Juan Pablo (10/5): - Los anfitriones un 7
Buenas instalaciones, lindo hotel.
Todo bien Todo ok
- Simone (10/5): Casa El Eden a delightful stay. - The property managers were a delight. They made the hotel feel like they were welcoming us into their home. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious. Highly recommend d this delightful 200yr old house. Nothing.
- SFtravelstheworld12 (10/5): Highly recommend! - Mario and his wife Blanca were fantastic - responding to every question and request. They are the owners and live onsite. The hotel is small, spotless, and safe. They have done a wonderful job of restoring this beautiful building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I highly recommend Casa Eden!

- Marion (10/5): Klare Empfehlung- jederzeit wieder!!!
Absolut empfehlenswert. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nichts
- Rebecca (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel with the best hosts! - One of the best places we have stayed. Mario and Blanca welcomed us into their home like family. Their house is beautiful and immaculate, breakfast was delicious and nothing is too much trouble, thank you both for a wonderful stay! Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): Beautiful hotel in the heart of Quito with incredible hosts - We stayed here twice during our trip to Ecuador. We booked after reading all of the incredible reviews and were not disappointed! Mario and Blanca were incredibly welcoming hosts. Mario even got up at 4am for our early departure to the airport to ensure we got into our taxi safely. They have a beautiful home and are both incredibly welcoming. Mario was really helpful in recommending and booking restaurants for us! They very kindly gave us a bottle of fizz to celebrate our honeymoon! Cannot reccomend enough!
- Clare (10/5): If you are looking for a stay in a family run hotel with exceptional service, you will find it at Casa el Edén. We will - This small hotel located in the historic centre of Quito is a gem. The rooms are all individually decorated and thoughtfully appointed. What makes this property outstanding thought are its hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they always greeted us with welcoming smiles. If you get the chance to book a stay here, go for it! Nothing. I could not fault it.
- Andrew (10/5): An absolute gem of a property in Quito - What a wonderful place run by two wonderful people - Mario and Blanca. Such a pleasant change after large hotels, to stay in a lovely renovated property in which you are encouraged to feel like a part of the family and treat the place as your home. Rooms are large and spacious as well as being beautifully set up, there are lots of places to relax in including a quiet and secluded roof top lounge, and the hotel is close to all the attractions of the old town. Breakfast was great and whilst set times, Mario and Blanca were very flexible if you wanted to change. They were also very helpful with local directions, tours and restaurants. For us, absolutely nothing. If you crave large hotels and want anonymity, then probably not for you, but we would not hesitate to go back.
- Inveterate Wanderer (10/5): A gem in the old town of Quito - Everything. The gracious and beautifully restored old building, the ambience, breakfast, the hosts.
Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. The hosts were very helpful. Breakfasts were delicious, but also provided opportunities for interesting talks with other like minded travellers. Nothing
- Jack (10/5): - It was a 8 minute walk to the grande square for some great restaurants. The historic old town is just a few more blocks. Mario suggested LaVid and it was excellent food with great views of thr square. You even get a free taxi ride back. The breakfast was also very good. They are so friendly and have great recommendations. PERFECTO
Super recomendable.
- NIKOLAOS (10/5): Charming property. - Beautifully and lovingly restored 120 year old house with very big bedrooms and quality 7 foot wide comfortable bed with soft pillows. Nothing to fault.
The owner Mario and his wife_Blanca were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing to dislike!!
- Anne (10/5): A charming gem in the heart of Quito. Highly recommend - What a wonderful little gem in the historic centre of Quito – it’s rare to find places like this today. Casa El Edén is a beautifully restored colonial townhouse with a lovely patio and a small rooftop terrace.
Señor Mario and Señora Blanca are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts, making you feel at home from the first moment.
The location is perfect, with many sights within easy walking distance, and we felt safe at all times. A reliable airport transfer can also be arranged.
Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -
- Shailendra (10/5): - Beautiful house with amazing hosts
- Daydream46455529973 (10/5): A home for Christmas! - My mother and I spent Christmas at Casa El Edén. It was a difficult holiday for us after the loss of my dad earlier in the year so we needed this very special experience to create new traditions. Blanca and Mario were the perfect hosts and we were made to feel that their home was also our home. Centrally located, it is easy to walk or taxi around Quito. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and comfortable and the common spaces are welcoming. I highly recommend!
- Karina (10/5): Lovely boutique hotel run by a wonderful couple - Everything. The hotel is a located in a beautiful building. The rooms are very comfortable.
It is run by a lovely couple who work tirelessly to ensure that your stay is fantastic. Go there! Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- Stefano (9/5): -
- Jean-Frederic (10/5): I would recommend this boutique hotel in a heartbeat. - This is one of the most magnificent boutique hotel I have been too. The property is well decorated warm and cozy. Mario, Bianca and the staff are extremely friendly and generous. Very attentive to our needs. Extremely well located. There is absolutely nothing we didn’t like.
- Anita (10/5): A must stay if visiting Quito - Absolutely fantastic couple who run the property. So welcoming and helpful. Made you feel really at home. Oasis as you enter the property from the street. Highly recommend All great
- Rob (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Hendrik (10/5): Perfect place to stay when staying in Quito -
- travelinggar (10/5): A beautiful stay with truly heartfelt hospitality - We loved our stay at Casa El Edén. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Quito’s historic center.
What truly made our stay special was the hospitality. The owner and his wife were incredibly kind and welcoming the entire time we were there. When we left for the airport, they came outside and waved as our car drove away. Such a sweet and memorable gesture that really shows how much they care about their guests.
If you’re visiting Quito and want a charming place with exceptional hospitality, I highly recommend staying here.
- Gernot (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Lovely building with friendly hosts - Delicious filling and nutritious breakfasts, attentive owners with good restaurant recommendations, convenient location, beautiful building. There was also a large jug of purified water available at all times. Pretty perfect! It would always be nice to have fewer stairs, but that’s how these historic buildings are made.
- Yael (10/5): I don't understand why it's rated only 9.9 and not 10 - The place is beautiful, the room is huge and comfortable but on top the hosts are the kindest couple which does everything to make you feel at home. We enjoyed every minute there. Nothing, everything was perfect
- Johannes (10/5): -
- ISR77 (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Unfortunately, we spent only one night in the beautiful "palacete".
Everything was wonderful: the place, the rooms, breakfast, the hosts (Mario & Bianca) and the location.
Great, great ,experience
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Monika (8/5): Charming Historic Stay In Old Town Quito - Mario and his wife Blanca are so warm and welcoming. Casa El Eden is beautiful with high ceilings, lots of detail and a central skylight. Well located on the edge of the historic center so easy walk The room was overall great but we didn’t love that the shower/sink was in the main room so limited privacy
- Paul (10/5): By far the best place in Quito to stay…. - Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Hosts are amazing. Rooms are lovely and the breakfast excellent. All the staff are only too pleased to help with any issues or questions.
Check out the roof top. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Thomas (10/5): Wunderschönes altes Wohnhaus mit Charakter - Einfach alles! Super tolle Gastgeber! Immer da und hilfsbereit! Gutes Frühstück. Schöne und große Zimmer. In der Altstadt alles fußläufig zu erreichen. Es war wirklich ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt! Nichts
- Stephen (10/5): A great choice I would highly recommend - The room was large and charming. Mario made you feel very welcome and was in hand to help us with every little request. The breakfast was very tasty. Things like a little chocolate provided each helped make the place very special.. The room was quiet and yet we were only 8 minutes walk from the main square in the old town..I would highly recommend this place. Maybe the flight of stairs to the room, which was challenging on the first day in Quito, but this didn't detract from Casa El Eden being an exceptional place to stay.
- Benjamin (10/5): -
- staceykO6767QR (10/5): The perfect place to stay when visiting Quito - We stayed at Casa el Eden during our trip to Quito and so incredibly grateful we did. Mario and Blanca were such incredible hosts! The location was perfect and our room was beautiful and clean! The building, the architecture of the space!!! 😍 beautiful!
- Isabelle (10/5): Familiengeführtes schick-historisches Hotel in der Altstadt - Super Lage
Familiengeführt
Unfassbar aufmerksame Betreuung
- Franckybaby (10/5): -
- Alexander (7/5): - Excellent room, better that any other.
Shower was fun
Breakfast was good Road noise very loud all night. Interior courtyard room might be better
Room was warm. I’d love to open window but road noise would have been worse
- Stefanides (10/5): - Beautiful accommodations, very clean, wonderful care
- Mel (10/5): - The hospitality, rooms, quito ambiance.
- James (10/5): -
- Alexandra (10/5): - Owners got up early to ensure we had breakfast before our early departure! they were extremely welcoming and helpful. everything was perfectly clean and as pictured
- Haik (10/5): -
- erinsL90ZX (10/5): Oasis in the middle of Quito - Casa El Eden is the perfect balance of price/quality - you won't overpay for what will be an exceptionally well edited space. It truly feels like a home - in the middle of a chaotic city everything inside the "casa" promotes calm - with rooms that have comfortable beds/pillows, suitcase stands as well as armoires with drawers and plenty of counter space by the sink to put toiletries. Mario will greet you, or wave goodbye, no matter the time of your arrival or departure. For those who have no Spanish, his English is very good. His wife is lovely and, while she has little English, she is not shy about just speaking with you and using hand gestures until you understand - and she organizes a lovely breakfast. There are rooms within to escape to for reading or a drink, and there is a lovely rooftop space I used for a morning exercise routine, and to read as well. Mario coordinated all of our transfers, which was incredibly helpful, and a historical tour of the city. Highly, highly recommended.
- Diego Alvaro (10/5): - The house is beautiful, the hospitality from Mario is top notch, the room was comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was excellent. Overall an excellent stay. The location is great for visiting the old town, but you need to make sure to use Uber or taxi at night to be safer.
- travelqueen157 (10/5): Top notch hospitality in Quito - Mario and Blanca are born hosts - so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Our rooms were spacious, beautiful and clean. Cannot recommend highly enough!
- Howard (10/5): Great experience. Terrific owners - As per the other reviews, the owners Mario and Blanca were outstanding hosts. They were always available for questions and suggestions. Their hotel is very charming and we slept very well.
- 385jonathane (10/5): Amazing stay! - My partner and I had a fantastic experience staying at Casa El Eden. Mr Mario and Blanca are exceptional hosts and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The property is beautiful and the rooms are immaculate. The location is perfect for being able to easily walk to all of the attractions in the historical centre. We are very thankful for such a great stay and would highly recommend Casa El Eden to anyone coming to Quito
- Alexandra (10/5): The most wonderful stay in Quito we could have hoped for, with the kindest and best hosts Mario and Blanca. - The property is beautifully designed and cared for. It is in a perfect location for seeing the historic sights of Quito - everything was an easy walk away. Best of all are the hosts Maria and Blanca, who go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. Their kindness and hospitality was something we will always remember. I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Nothing - our stay was perfect.
- David (10/5): Perfect stay with wonderful hosts. - The hosts, Mario and Blanca, are two of the kindest and most welcoming people you will ever meet. You can tell they care deeply about their guests' experience and want people to enjoy their time in beautiful Quito. Blanca sources incredibly delicious fruit for each breakfast with eggs made to order. There is a beautiful balcony to enjoy a drink overlooking the city. We highly recommend staying here while in Quito. No issues at all.
- 630JD (10/5): Wonderful comfortable hotel with spectacular Hosts - We stayed here for a 4 nights stay in between visiting Ibarra and Mashpi Lodge. Casa El Eden was a wonderful hotel to stay in and enjoy the old town of Quito. Our hosts Mario and Blanca were very welcoming and helpful. Anything we asked for or needed help with they supplied .They suggested where to go to enjoy the local restaurants and lined up a great guide that spent the day with us and shared his love of the city. We wandered Old Town and felt safe with their guidance . Breakfast was amazing every morning . They supplied us with bottled water and had a refill station . Our rooms were spacious and beautiful. There is a lovely rooftop sitting area to view the night city lights. The history of the building is wonderful and they take great care with it . We will return!!
- Alice (10/5): - The staff! It felt like we were staying with family. The rooms are really spacious and beautifully decorated. It's very well located for the historic centre and ubers to other parts of the city are very cheap. Nothing, we loved it
- Seon (10/5): Fantastic spot and great accommodations - My girlfriend and I stayed a single night, en route to Galapgos, and really appreciated having this place to relax and recharge from a very tiring day traveling to and in Quito. Mario and his wife were super welcoming and friendly, and the location and room were perfect. Highly recommend! I honestly can find no faults in this place.
A few general notes/ caveats not related to this hotel specifically:
1. The historical district (where the hotel is located) isn't the safest at night, so it may be best to avoid hanging around outside after dark
2. Quito's plumbing isn't as modern as some other countries, so be aware toilet paper doesn't go in the toilet here
- megan (10/5): -
- Pioneer10457835173 (10/5): Exceptionally friendly!!! - What a wonderful hotel. When I booked this hotel I saw it was run by a couple Mario and Blanca. What I didn’t know is how friendly and helpful they would be. Wonderful to call them my new friends! Beautiful hundred year old building painstakingly restored and close to all attractions especially old town.
- the_lowdown (10/5): Lovely! - Location - in the heart of Old Town, walking distance to all the major sights. We felt totally safe walking around this crowded historic area.
Hotel - a beautifully decorated hotel with just 6 rooms.
Room - my husband and I had a superior double room. It was very clean and seemed larger than it looked in the pictures with its high ceilings. You can see that the shower is right in the room and it seemed odd but it was fine. I was just happy that the shower spray is strong.
Hosts - I can't say enough about the hospitality of Mario, the kind warm owner. His wife Blanca and helper Susanne were also lovely but didn't speak much English. Mario was always around to greet us and answer any inquiries we had about the town.
Breakfast - a hearty breakfast of eggs, bread rolls, freshly cut fruit, cereal, smoothie, coffee.
My only complaint is that our room faced the street and I'm a light sleeper. I could hear the party buses and motorcycles during the night. My husband slept right through it though. So if you're a light sleeper, pay a little more and try to get a room on the inside. I'd definitely stay here again next time in Quito.
- Schürer (10/5): Perfect place to explore this lovely city - Mario is very nice host
- Kris (9/5): Mario and his wife (forgot her name) were phenomenal. - The breakfast was great. The location was a bit sketchy, but we wanted to be close to the Plaza Grande so it worked.
- Ambassador514671 (10/5): Wonderful one night stay - A beautiful little boutique hotel in the heart of Quito - walkable to everything and lovingly restored with gracious hosts. We only stayed one night but it was wonderful
- Rubén (10/5): -
- Leathley (10/5): Mario is the best host! Breakfast was delicious, and he was incredibly welcoming and helpful. -
- Fabio (10/5): Kind and quiet - The host was so kind - felt very personal. Also incredibly quiet at night and 100% blackout in the room. All good. Beware it's a simple accommodation but the best one.
- Athanasios (10/5): -
- Allison Jay (10/5): -
- Zeira Moshe (10/5): The best hotel in quito - A boutique hotel with a family atmosphere at the 5 star level. Good breakfast, good internet and an excellent service.

Siempre dispuestos a ayudar.

- sarah (10/5): - Beautiful historic building, amazing room, wonderful breakfast, top location, but most importantly Mario and his wife Blanca were the best. They treated us like family and made our stay perfect. If you are visiting Quito then this really is the place to stay!
Recomendo MUITO! Gostei de TUDO
- Marcos Ravi (10/5): - O dono, Mário, super atencioso e educado.
- Allison Jay (10/5): Warm host and a beautiful building in the historic center - The hospitality and the host made the experience so wonderful. We felt like we were staying with a friend. The host has a lot of passion for the guests and the building. The building has a lot of charm and style while also having modern improvements. Noting
- 603maddies (10/5): Beautiful Hotel, Gracious Hosts - If you’re looking for a place to stay in Quito, you’ve found it. Mario and his wife Blanca treat you like family, and run a beautiful hotel. The location is great, within walking distance to the Basilica and other great spots. They have fantastic recommendations for food as well. The hotel is extremely safe, with easy access for guests. A must stay!
Nada
- Maria (10/5): The best start in Quito, a cosy, modern and authentic experience with a luxury feel - What caught my eye about this place, besides the obviously stunning vibe and decoration, was that it has absolutely no bad reviews. That is so impressive and absolutely deserved. The bed and breakfast is a cosy, modern and authentic experience with a luxury feel 🙂 We had good communication with them before we arrived. It’s hosted by this lovely couple, Mario and Blanca, who make you feel very welcome and safe during your time in Quito. They helped us arrange a taxi from the airport to the hotel upon arrival, and amazing day trips to Mindo and Papallacta Hot Springs. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask them. They make you feel at home.
Together with their kind staff they served delicious breakfast: eggs, fruits, coffee or cacao, juice and a fresh water bottle every day. The address is very central, in a fairly safe area. It’s walking distance to the old town center (with amazing food and cultural experiences), and from there it’s also easy to take the new metro (from San Francisco) to other areas, for example Carolina Park.
As general advice, take precautions about flashing valuables, but the area overall feels very very safe to walk around from morning until 6.15 PM (daytime, when the sun is up). In the evening, take a taxi. It’s easy, as restaurants can arrange it for you, or else Mario and Blanca will help you for sure.
The best decision to stay here, and the best start to our five weeks in Ecuador 🙂 Thank you so much! Everything was good. We had an amazing stay, and hopefully we will come back one day!
- nikolajs982 (10/5): Perfect launching pad for exploring Quito and Ecuador with wonderful hosts - We started our 5-week Ecuador trip with 4 nights at this hotel, hoping for a safe and calm introduction to Quito and it truly delivered! Mario and Blanca were always present and incredibly helpful with every request.
We booked several one-day tours through the hotel (visible on their website), and their guides were professional and knowledgeable about Quito and beyond (Mindo, Cotopaxi, Otavalo, Baños, Cuenca, etc.). These connections proved valuable throughout our trip.
The hotel experience was wonderfully personal. Mario personally introduced guests to each other at intimate breakfasts in the amazing patio, surrounded by unique furniture, wall paintings, fun rooms, and a fine library.
Our room (Chirimaya) was massive with a fantastic in-room shower. We chose it because it faced the street rather than the covered patio and the street wasn’t noisy at all. Several mornings and evenings we took hotel ponchos to the rooftop to read and watch the city. You can easily see the Virgin of El Panecillo monument from there.
We felt very safe throughout our stay. Of course, take appropriate precautions in any bustling city: Keep your passport and most cash in a belt under your clothes and don’t stop staring at your phone in the middle of the street. One tip: use the metro! It’s modern, feels safe, runs smoothly and quietly, and costs just $0.50 regardless of distance.
