- Pura (9/5): Beautiful view at the Edge of Tromso - This hotel is in a perfect location to walk to every important thing you can explore in the town. It is also close to the bus station for things that might be farther away. My room had a wonderful view of the Arctic Cathedral on the other side of the river. Breakfast was excellent and the facilities were modern and fun.

Hervorzuheben ist, dass trotz Streiks ein tolles Frühstück geboten werden konnte. Die verbleibenden Mitarbeiter haben sich sehr bemüht, die Unannehmlichkeiten eines Streiks für die Gäste abzufangen. Es war alles bestens.

The lifts suggest breakfast times from 6.30 till 9 30am. However no one dining and after moving the barrier told not till 8.00am. Very unpleasant staff on duty told us. So why have the lifts mention otherwise and also electronic display still mentions Easter. Scrambled eggs and other items luke warm. Oslo clarion much better. Strike didn't affect Oslo. Manager at reception apologised. Moment of truth.

Ma fenêtre donnait sur un mur aveugle. L’offre tv est limitée aux chaînes norvégienne. Il n’y a pas d’accès ni de places de parking aux alentours pour décharger les bagages. Pas pratique…

- Phayao13 (8/5): Clear landmark with its prominent architecture at the port terminal. - Definitely a good city location in Tromsø, the only thing missing is parking at the hotel.Of course, the restaurant's menu could be more exciting and why not inspired by seafood and other local specialties.What was excellent, however, was the staff we were in contact with, i.e. front desk and breakfast staff.The breakfast offers a package of everything you could possibly want.The sleeping comfort is good and the room is comfortable.Colorful corridor that is a bit reminiscent in its design of a larger ship.Incidentally, all the famous interior styles at other Clarion hotels around the Nordic region.

- Nigel (8/5): Nice facility on the front of the harbour, close to the terminal for ferries, & busses - All the staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast that should suit everyone. Rooms were clean as were the public areas. Luggage area next to the reception desk if you wanted to leave things seemed as secure as any. There are a few places that are a little tired. Minor wear on some of the seats in the bar and breakfast area with threads hanging. Rooms are small/tight on space and the shape of the rooms would not be suitable if you have a lot of luggage or a long stay.

Todo el personal del hotel es muy amable y colaborador. El desayuno es un sueño, con una gran variedad de alimentos; simplemente increíble. Mi habitación tenía vista al fiordo, y cada mañana comenzaba el día con una energía maravillosa. <3 El día de mi llegada hacía sol, pero las ventanas de la entrada no estaban muy limpias; de hecho, por un momento pensé que el hotel estaba cerrado. Como sugerencia de mejora, sería importante prestar más atención a la limpieza de la entrada, ya que es la primera impresión que reciben los huéspedes.

Ein fabelhaftes Frühstücksbüffet Wir hatten ein StandardDoppelzimmer, das nur ein sehr kleines Fenster hatte und dadurch leider etwas dunkel war , das Mobiliar insbesondere im Restaurant ist ein wenig in die Jage gekommen. Aber es wurde eine Renovierung angekündigt.

- Travellerclass (10/5): A superb place to make your base while in Tromso (Pro's & Con's) - My wife and I booked to stay here from Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 March. This was certainly a great move on our part as the place is simply superb. Check-in and Check-out for us was painless and quick. The service from all members of staff was excellent and its hard to find any genuine fault. We only ate here for breakfast and these are one of the best breakfasts we had experienced. The choice is overwhelming and there is something for everyone to enjoy. We had freshly cooked omelettes each morning and the array of other hot food was vast. Small potatoes, sausages, baked beans, hash browns, crispy bacon and the list just goes on. Then there was an abundance of pastries, breads, cheese's, meats and much much more. We had fresh orange juice everyday. The fruit selection was also amazing. Note they have a sign up asking you not to take any food from the breakfast area which is fair enough. Our room 524 was very compact and even on the small side. My wife struggled to get around the far side of the bed as the space is very limiting. The only real negative we found is there are absolutely no draw spaces anywhere? You basically have to live out of your suitcase. The wardrobe is literally 6 inches deep and you can hang up max two items. There are some shelving in the bathroom but that's it so pack lightly 🙂. The shower was excellent but the sink has no plug facility so not as easy to shave as you cant put water in the sink to use as it flows away. The bathroom door is an obscure glass and the toilet is literally next to this. The rooms were very clean and we experienced no noise issues at all. Great idea at saving space in the rooms as all the main bedroom doors open outwards on to a large landing area. The room has all you could want with mini-bar, kettle, ironing board, iron, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facility. We used to get milk from downstairs near reception and put in our fridge for tea in the morning. Where the milk can be collected there are water facilities so if you bring a bottle with you its possible to top up from here every night. If you want ice the bar will give you a glass to take back to your room as the ice making facilities on each floor do not work. At reception there is an easy facility to book local Tromso Taxis and this is excellent. We would highly recommend this place as its location next to the port and town is just brilliant. Just a note of real caution on drinks prices at the hotel in the bar. We ordered up two 0.4 litre glasses of 1664 Blanc beer (lager), these cost us 310 Nok Kr, which is £24 sterling!!!! 😩😒👎We never bought another drink at the bar after that. You can go out in to the town and get much better prices. Having said all the positives and negatives we would still highly recommend and would stay here again ourselves. Enjoy your stay.

The excursions meet at the same place as well. It made everything stress-free for me! The view from my room was breathtaking facing the mountains ! The room itself is well designed and updated. The brunch was fantastic, and made the higher price for the hotel worth it since it was included and often could fuel us until dinner. The rooms were a little small. And it would have been nice if the hotel restaurant for dinner was larger (there was never room for us) and had more hours.

This trip has been testing my patience dealing with airlines cancellations, delayed bags, and now today an overbooked flight leaving us with nowhere to go for a few hours in the wind and rain in Tromso. Admittedly, I was a bit snippy in my requests at this point but after learning about out situation, Andrea has went out of her way to accommodate us with a place so that we don't have to sit in the lobby with nothing to do. She definitely brought some light heartedness to the situation, fed me a chocolate, and made me laugh with her quips. Andrea just shines! My review of the property itself still stands true. The property needs to be updated with modern conveniences like a phone so guests do not have to drag themselves down for every little thing. There's supposedly a QR code you scan but it still doesn't have any options to request anything unless you call the international telephone number. Some of us don't have a sim that works everywhere and honestly a property advertised as 4 stars should not be cost cutting here. Also, charging for room slippers and renting out bathrobes is tacky. I'm understanding Tromso is historically not a tourist town but I'm not staying at an Airbnb/vrbo here, I like proper hotels because the little stuff is just a part of the hotel stay experience. Highlight would be their breakfast. Staff here are efficient in keeping everything stocked and everything felt very fresh and delicious. Many options to choose from to satisfy most palettes I think. All in all, they are very well located, especially next to my favorite coffee shop, but it's the little things that create guest comfort, without feeling like everything involves a monetary transaction, that counts.
