Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - Charmantes Hotel.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Wallace (8/5): nice relaxing place - nice rooms
- gary (10/5): - Nice quiet location. Great room and shower. 12 min walk to the night market
- Christian (8/5): Very good - need a renovation
- James (8/5): Very good -
- richard (8/5): Nice feelings - Little isolated but very nice feel to the place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean room and staff were friendly and helpful, close to market area and walking distance to the river.
- Ann Kristin (8/5): Good hotel very quiet area. - The hotel is close to all sight seeing spots, without beeing in the middle of it. The beds where a bit to hard for my liking, so I had to explore laotian massage.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): Happy! - We enjoyed our days at Legend, very clean, quiet and location was perfect.
- YEONG JUN (10/5):
- Paolo (10/5): Great place to enjoy Luang Prabang - Luang Prabang is an enchanting city to visit and this hotel made it even easier to enjoy it. Nice, clean and spacious rooms and very helpful staff. Centre of town very close and by easy reach using the hotels bycycles (these are not free though). A place I would happily go back to.
- Joey (4/5): Okay but not worth the price - outside stair by the lobby there's a bathroom the smell of sewage reaping through the closed door every time you walk up n down from our room. Smell like a outhouse that should be way out back behind the building not under the stairs. The bathroom floor is made of wood with rotting around the toilet and at the corner of the floor. to add to the rotting wood is black mold. It was great that we was able to rent bicycle from the hotel for the whole day. We rode around town all day.
- Sek Weng (10/5): Good place to stay - Clean and comfortable and able to rent bicycle
- Roberto (8/5): Clean hotel but they take advantage of tourist! - good hotel, but do not book any tours with them! room was clean, but they overcharge for everything that is not included. Tour is not to elephant village but to an elephant camp, and its not worth it. Taxi service is more expensive with them!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good overall.
Walking distance to all.
Very friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Karyn (8/5): Value for money! - It was a good experience all in all, albeit pretty expensive airport-hotel transfers.
- Verified traveler (8/5):

- Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel offers an open view to its garden from a comfortable balcony of each room, which is quite nice.
- marianne (10/5): Convenient and clean location, reasonable price - Had a gteat stay here. Good size room with nice bathroom, with amenities provided. Bike rental availble, a must for sightseeing around luang prabang
- willie (8/5): LP Legend Hotel - Very happy & satisfied w LP Legend Hotel
I highly recommend LPL
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was in a good condition - clean and comfortable. The only thing is that it is a little far from the center of town.
- NATTHAPHON (10/5): - Very nice and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good comfortable stay - Location: The hotel is like a 5-10 minutes walk from the night market area, so it's not in the center of town, but we still found it to be convenient. There are a few laundry places to drop off laundry, as well as small restaurants if you don't feel like walking into town. There is a small family run market across the street for last minute snacks and bottled water.
Room: The room was standard. Included usual amenities like toiletries, bottled water, etc.
Service: The staff is very nice. We found ourselves without a hotel room late at night due to another hotel not honoring our reservation. They were very accommodating and got us settled in right away.
Overall: Recommend.
- Chichih (8/5): - We stayed twice at the the first day and the 9th dau in Laos. The wifi quality in room really bad event no wifi. The counter told us the wifi just upgraded to faster but something wrong...and the second time we came back for stayed still the same ! very poor wifi quality. The location was nice ! very easy to find cafeshop, restaurant, minimart...
- elizabeth (6/5): Luang - Room a bit dull for the price but it was Chinese New Year so expensive. Noisy daytime with electric saw shop at back.
- S (10/5): lovely little hotel - such cute little rooms with great balconies. No mosquito problems in December!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not The Best Location Or Value - We were disappointed to find we were quite far from the lovely historic district we stayed in on our last trip here. We had been on a tour, and could not remember the name or address of the previous place.
We found the Legend Hotel to be clean, and one of the staff was helpful. The wifi was very poor throughout our entire stay. We didn't try the breakfast, due to other reviewer remarks. There were no drawers, only 4 hangers, no heat. We did find the original place we stayed finally, but too late to book for this trip. The price was much better than the over-priced Legend, the location excellent, room comfortable. We would not return to the Legend again. If you do choose this hotel, don't get a room near the office, as you can hear their phone ringing through the thin walls.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stay was very comfortable. More expensive than hostels but worth the extra 15$ a night
- carolyn (10/5): great hotel, clean and neat, friendly staff
- great hotel, clean tidy and spacious rooms, friendly staff, good position to markets and night walking,
- Claire (8/5): A little gem in Luang Prabang - Great hotel, great price, great value, friendly staff, extended our visit as we liked it so much. No more than 10 minutes walk to market, restaurants and bars.
- Daniel (8/5): Comfy accommodation in LP - Firstly - this hotel had the best air con out of all the guest house / resort / hotels we stayed at in Laos, so that's a huge plus! It was a nice final stop for us before making our long journey home.
The showers are absolutely huge and the room itself also has a good amount of space. There's an array of TV channels, even a few English ones e.g. HBO movies which is good when you need a bit of chill time.
At $10 USD for breakfast we didn't bother partaking - there's plenty of places around within a few minutes walk to eat and are open early enough.
Tip: walk outside and you can easily find a tuk tuk to take you to the airport for 50,000 KIP (rather than the 80,000 KIP the hotel will arrange one for you).
- Dennis (8/5): Good Hotel !!! - very good hotel
- Peter (10/5): - I booked for 3 nights ended up stopping 5 night.room good size with everything you could want.
Only a sort walk to night market, restaurants and bars.
- lee (10/5): Helpful staff! - Staff was so helpful when my ATM card went missing , allowed me to use their phone to contact my bank, I was in an accident and they were quite helpful. The people of this town are amazing. Also check out the bar/restaurant Lao Laos.
- Lyn (6/5): Legend at Luang Prabang - Staff were amazing at this hotel, helped us a lot with some documents requiring printing etc, muchly appreciated. Nice tables outside on balcony, restaurant not bad, breakfast pretty good. Biggest negative was 10-15 minute walk from downtown area which in the extreme heat added to a long hot day. Shuttle bus 1-2x/day would be helpful at least to Main Street.
- Lyle (8/5): Best Bed in Laos - Best Bed w/ proper pillow in Laos. Sleep so well I thought I was in a coma. Internet was great, some English n=on TV, good food and great people.
- Peter (10/5): very good new hotel - Excellent new hotel, reasonable room rates, helpful staff, not far (easy walking distance) from the night and Dara markets and the Mekong riverside. Recommended
- Matthew (8/5): Clean & fresg hotel walking distance from center - LP Legend Hotel is a small 2-story hotel near the Dara Market, not far from the center of Luang Prabang. The owners run the place with a small staff, and do a good job. The rooms are clean (having hardwood floors helps keep them that way) and the showers are nice (big and with adequate water pressure). Other reviews mentioned noisy neighbors, but I did not experience that. Nor did I have any problems with smells. The breakfast buffet was more than acceptable, and they would prepare any type of eggs as well. Rain kept me in to eat at their restaurant one evening, and the food was surprisingly good.
- ren (10/5): Great overnight stop - We had 2 nights stopover and so the location was great for visiting all the temples and museums. It was quite a way from the airport so I would definitely use it again for more than 1 night. Staff were really helpful. Free coffee, cakes and water and the massage place 2 doors away was amazing. It was the perfect walking distance to temples, museums and markets. Neighbourhood felt safe although very authentic. Thankyou for looking after us so well
- Spanky (8/5): - Very bright big rooms, no extra seating though so you must use the bed. The bathroom often smelt like sewage probably coming up from the pipes, honestly would've had no problem with the room except for the smell. A little had to find when you get there as the map doesn't show their location properly (right behind the hotel with the cafe on the corner near the pin on google maps) only a 5 minute walk to the Main Street which has many tour companies, restuarunts, and nightly market.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and comfortable room - With discount offered at the time of booking, we booked a double room at the Legend Hotel at great price. As we arrived at 10am from early flight to Luang Prabang, the staff at reception allowed us to check-in earlier at noon once the room was ready rather than waiting for the official check-in time at 2pm. The room is spacious and clean. It's within short walking distance to the Night Market and other main sights. The Hotel can arrange transport to the airport at USD6 per person which is far too much (the official rate from the airport to the hotel is 60000 Kip/ USD7.5) so we just got a Tuk-Tuk by ourselves to get to the airport.
- Bob (10/5): Wonderful - I had a most enjoyable experience at this hotel. The staff from the cleaners of the rooms to the cooks, servers and desk clerks were terrific, friendly and efficient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel in very quiet surroundings - Highly recommended for people who want to be in a clean comfortable room but still be slightly away from the main tourist hub.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place - The hotel over all was great. Staff were the best. Having said that I wouldn't stay again because in comparison to other hotels who are close one even has a pool, they are much more expensive in the US, if I pay 147 I expect much more. However, with the caveat since I did get a great rate I ranked it as a nice place.
- Jen (10/5): Great hotel - New hotel, friendly staff, great buffet breakfast, both Laos and Western cuisine. Very co forgave room. 5-10 min walk to night market, great spot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice - The hotel is very nice. The review I read knocked the wifi and it was pretty bad with continuously being dropped I usually went down the street to Joma to retrieve my email. Very pretty setting and very clean. I would stay again if I didn't need internet.
- Chee (8/5): Excellent New Hotel - Staff greeted all guests and made the stay very pleasant.
