Guest Reviews
- Linda (10/5): - Wonderful stay at Neitas nest. Breakfast was amazing, the place was super clean, and our host was very accommodating.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very secluded and fantastic views outside/surroundings!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a very at home feeling, like you was staying at a family member house. It felt right.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Neita's Nest B&B exceeded my expectations for hospitality and service. Unique & appropriate recommendations (touristy & local) that provided for a memorable experience. The views surrounding the property are breathtaking and wrap around seating around the home prove ample space to sit and relax; enjoying the night-time breeze and birds chirping in the trees. My only recommendation would be to provide more comfortable seating options...hammocks perhaps? With Neita's Nest, I had peace of mind & a sense of security during the trip. A++
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Unique, spotless, small-scale, and homey. A different gourmet breakfast every day on the shaded veranda. When have you had smoked marlin? Calalou quiche?
Rooms face the Blue Mountains and are cooled by nature.
They connected me with a friend who collects orchids like me.
Nearby restaurant Cellar 8 makes good veggie burgers and their own coconut ice cream!
- Meredith (8/5): Beautiful location in New Kingston - We loved our stay at Neita's Nest. Michelle, the manager was very personable and gave us the most comprehensive detailed instructions as to how to get to her place! She made us feel very welcome and at home and answered any questions we had regarding directions to places and where to eat etc. It was very much appreciated as we were tired after our long flight to Kingston. The B&B is situated in a most amazing place at the top of a mountain with a stunning view. We slept well!
- Audry (10/5): - Beautiful home, wonderful views and a great host. The artwork and books kept us occupied for hours and the breakfast kept us full past lunchtime!
- Magdalena (8/5): Comfortable, safe accommodations, excellent views - Amazing views, loved the breakfast and evenings on the balcony. Beautiful plants on the property. Very private and very safe location. Property is gated and has a covered garage. Wonderful Host. I booked this property because I did not want to stay in a hotel and did not want to be in a heavily populated area and was not disappointed. Close proximity to stores but you have the piece and quite on the property and immediate neighborhood. The Host is very accommodating with dietary requests. Breakfast was always very delicious and fresh, a more modernized spin on the traditional Jamaican cuisine. I love to try the traditional food wherever I go to so this was a good experience. The property is very well maintained, clean and quiet. The sound carries and you may hear noises from afar at night but that's an interesting experience in itself. The night sounds of Jamaica... General tip for a tourist visiting Jamaica: have some patience, smile, slow down and enjoy. A fresh-made meal is worth waiting for. People are very nice and helpful. The property owner - Michelle has a vast knowledge of the area so ask her anything you want to know or are not sure about. We were a group of 3 female adults, opted for a car rental. It was my first time driving in Jamaica with the left side traffic, windy roads, multitude of potholes, some very deep. This may not be suitable for a first time visitor unless you have done something like this before. If you drive, take it slow and honk on windy roads.
- lan (10/5): Nice stay in this lovely B & B - We are 3 couples and booked for one night in Michelle Neita B& B. It was such a fantastic stay. We enjoyed this incredible experience At the minute step in this beautiful house. Michelle made us felt at our home. She was great from the minute we booked, she send us several email to direct us the location, and checking whether we had any specific requirements. This house is in a safe and scenic location, patio facing mountain with fantastic view, the room is spacious and clean with awesome view, the breakfast was so delicious (Local called national dish).
We were thankful we had this opportunity to stay Michelle house had learned a lot of local culture, history.
We absolutly recommend a stay there and would book it again!
- Dennis (10/5): A True Taste of Jamaica - Michelle, the owner, went out of her way to make my wife and i feel right at home. We got to know her and her family. They truly are caring people. She included us in some of her own get to gathers and scheduled events. We met some really nice people. With Michelle's help we experienced a true taste of Jamaica. Her place features great views and is quite comfortable. We highly recommend Neita's Nest for a really great Jamaican Experience.
- love this place (10/5): Love it - Beautiful bed and breakfast. Wonderful accommodating staff, beautiful grounds, great food and service. My only regret is that I did not stay longer. I will be back
- Megan (10/5): Fantastic B&B - Wonderful B&B. Michelle and her team were so friendly and we felt like we left having made some great friends. We ate dinner here too and the food was outstanding. The views of the bird life and butterflies in the garden whilst eating breakfast was stunning. The rooms were really comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Michelle went out of her way to help us with bookings and things to do. She is definitely in the right business and her knowledge of Jamaican history was fantastic too!
- JJV (8/5): Loved My Stay - I am not a B&B type of person but I really enjoyed by stay at Neita's Nest. The owner, her family, and her guest made my trip not only unique, but enjoyable. The owner goes out of her way to ensure that you have a pleasant stay. In addition to all of the above, the food was excellent! I am ready for my next stay in Kingston at Neita's Nest.
- James (8/5): A True Jamaican Experience - My partner and I stayed for 2 nights at Neita's Nest in mid May as part of our travels around Jamaica and had a very pleasant time.
Michelle, the owner of Neita's Nest, was fantastically helpful from beginning to finish. Michelle sat down with us on more than one occasion and spoke to us about Jamaica, it's history, culture and where to go whilst in Kingston, which was brilliant, especially if you want to try and have a more authentic experience and learn a little about the country. Michelle also helped arrange a food tour for us, which was interesting.
The rooms were more than adequate and clean, whilst one of the highlight of the stays was the fresh local breakfast made for us and served out front on the veranda. The coffee is also one of the best we've had!
In terms of location, the property is situated towards the top of a mountain, which is an interesting, very steep, drive if you do decide to hire a car, yet the views are pleasant. It took us 20 - 30 minutes to get down in to Kingston, outside of rush hour times and it took over an hour to get to Norman Manley airport.
Overall, for the price and the cultured experience provided by Michelle, I'd strongly recommend this B&B to travellers visiting Kingston.
- Extremely upset (2/5): Con artist - No internet, no hot water, no food, poor shuttle service, no one else there other than the owner. The place is desolate and scary. Thee people are con artists. Do not go there.
- Shirley (10/5): Wonderful hospitality! - We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Everything was very clean, the common areas were tastefully decorated with interesting artwork and books, the food was local fare very beautifully presented, and the staff was most welcoming and gracious. The highlight was the proprietor sharing so much of her time to tell us about life in Jamaica as we dined on the veranda. I do not hesitate to highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): BnB with great staff, set in the hills - Wonderful staff and great meals. The host is incredibly friendly and informative. She gave us excellent recommendations and organised tours and transport for us. Would definitely recommend to others and stay there again myself.
- Robert (8/5): Nieta's Nest - Spent an enjoyable two days in Kingston staying at Neita's Nest. Not the easiest place to find, but worth the effort! Nice views, very good breakfast. Michelle Neita was very friendly and helpful with advice for local sites to see, etc.
- Lascelles (10/5): Stop the World So I Can Get Off. - Fantastic location, may be a little tricky to locate without gps, or ability to follow directions. Jamaican roads are not always clearly named. However Michelle will email her number, be sure to keep it handy. She gives excellent directions. Great getaway in the hills of St Andrew, plenty of greenery all around.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Neitas nest review - it is far off the beaten track in the mountains. You need a vehicle to move around.Good breakfast, nice staff
