• Adeline (7/5): - Emplacement idéal, à 2 pas du port, literie confortable, petit déjeuner copieux, possibilité de bénéficier gratuitement d’un transat au beach club sur la plage de Laginhas Bar et restaurant privatisé pour le soir où j'y étais, l'information n’a pas été donnée lors du check-in. Cela aurait pu être fait afin que je puisse m'organiser autrement pour le repas du soir.

• Marta (3/5): - La ubicación es muy buena y el desayuno abundante y correcto, pero poco más. . La habitación era pequeña, antigua y no estaba a la altura del precio. En el baño no funcionaban bien ni la cisterna ni el desagüe de la ducha, por lo que se salía el agua cada vez que nos duchábamos. Además, la piscina infantil no estaba operativa, y la zona de baño y los vestuarios de la piscina estaban viejos y sucios. En general, nos pareció muy caro para el servicio y el estado de las instalaciones

• juliette (7/5): Beau séjour à Mindelo dans un hôtel central et de bon niveau. - Le petit dejeuner est copieux sous forme de buffet. Emplacement très central. Belle piscine et salle de sport. Les chambres sont faites tardivement, jusqu’à 16 h parfois.

• Delphine (7/5): Un hôtel très bien placé mais qui mériterait quelques rafraîchissements dans les chambres et une attention plus poussé s - L’hôtel Oasis Porto Grande est très bien placé. Le petit déjeuner est varié et copieux. Le personnel est très venant et serviable. La salle de bain de la chambre était un peu vétuste. La propreté n’est pas optimale dans la salle de bain et dans la chambre ( cheveux, poils…)

No need to use pricey minibar as good Fragata supermarket nearby. Loved CNAD across the square for great coffee in the cafe and sometimes live music. My only complaint is the pool and gym were often packed with outsiders and almost impossible to get loungers at the hotel beach club as crowded with non-hotel guests. Lying on sand not great as beach so windy. Front of hotel nicer but noisy when there's a wedding party

• Nemine (9/5): Maravillosa estancia en un hotel con encanto Caboverdiano. - Tido ha sido fantástico, la verdad. La piscina agradable, el colchón muy cómodo, la ubicación excepcional... Es cierto que necesita inventirse dinero en mantenimiento, pr no es ago que los clientes noten a priori , a excepción del baño d la piscina que sí que no cumple los parámetros mínimos para un hotel de esta categoría.

• Jennifer (5/5): - Hotell is in the city center. Always clean. Great pool for kids. I made my reservation for 2 adults and 1kid got the price. It didnt say the price was excluding the child anywhere. When i came to check in they added the price of the child, very suspicius. I showed my reservation they said they could call the manager and see what they could do about it. I explained that I a week earlier had stayed there a night and made same reservation and didnt pay anything extra. I didnt like to feel as i was being decieved. I dont know if i will go back there again...

• PAULO (2/5): - I’ve been staying in this hotel for about 8 years and have been a witness to its fall into disrepair and dinginess. The staff are doing their best, but it’s obvious the owners aren’t invested in updating or maintaining the property. It’s a shame because it’s in a great location and very convenient to get to. Hope someone takes over soon and restores it to its former glory.

• Olaf (5/5): Not a pleasant stay - Very central location. Close to the beach, restaurants and bars.Good bed. Great view from the balcony. Carnaval parades and looking at a square. Excellent wifi. Delicious cappuccino. Hotel needs renovation. Balcony needs paint. Shower is leaking. Staff is not really friendly. But mostly bored or ignoring the guests at the restaurant, bar or pool. There was a carnaval party untill deep in the night. Reception did not wrote me about it when I booked. Only a small note on the reception desk. I had to pay for a cappuccino at breakfast. And again: they did not inform me beforehand. They just do not make real contact.

• Agathe (5/5): Great location but somewhat disappointing - - ideally located (5mn walk) from the ferry to Santo Antao - aircon - breakfast was great - the staff was helpful and spoke several languages - the bar/restaurant for dinner… very unimpressed by the food that was served! - even though it was cleaned daily, the hotel in general needs some reno work. The entire carpet in the stairs/corridors needs a change or a thorough wash, some tables in the restaurant are wobbly, the bathroom in some of the rooms are weirdly set up and the towel holders poorly fixed - the rooms smell stuffy when you get in - mattress is usually good but if you get the odd uncomfortable one, don’t hesitate to ask for a new room - the rooms facing the square are noisy from the activity outside

The location could not have gotten any better for watching Carnival - the reason my clients and I came to Mindelo this time! The rugs in the halls need to be replaced.

• Aronswaz (4/5): Disappointing - Staff are polite and helpful. The hotel staff does not warn the guests about the carnival party that takes place in the hotel, which is very noisy and goes the way into the early hours. Worst is the fact that hotel guests cannot attend the said party in the hotel, and have to pay external organizers. Best to avoid at carnival time, if you are looking to have a few nights of downtime
• Jim (10/5): Excellent staff who saved our holiday. - The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent, especially Nilza. When flying from Fogo to Sao Vicente, the airline left all out luggage on Fogo. We were due to sail to Sao Anteo but decided to rearrange the ferry and stay in Porto Grande to try and let our luggage catch up with us. There were 8 of us and we only booked in on the day of our stay. They were not phased when we arrived with only the grubby clothes that we stood up in and Nilza was very helpful. She liaised with the airline and airports to establish where our luggage was [getting further than we could] and arranged a large taxi for us all to have a happy reunion with the luggage that evening. Wiyhout hteir help the holiday would have been a lot more difficult. There was quite a lot of noise from the street.

• Reisemaxe (8/5): Nice but noisy at night - A perfectly located city hotel. Very friendly and helpfull staff at the reception. Beautiful old wooden floors. Very good and varied breakfast buffet. Good sized (for lap-swimming) and clean swimmingpool. Nice balcony, overlooking a Park (or the pool, depending on the room) Relatively small rooms, a bit stuffy and with smelly bathrooms; hence we would have liked to sleep with open windows. But this is absolutely impossible because of extreme noise at night! The hotel is situated on a park with a small bar that opens in the evening. It seems to be the meeting point of all the drunkards => shouting and screaming until 2 to 3 am in the morning ... every night. Regularely accompagnied by the deafening sound of motorbikes without exhausts crusing through the streets around the hotel – some of the local "bikies" seem to enjoy waking up everybody in the neighbourhood with the detonating sound of their machines ...

• Alex (7/5): Nice place for a business stay. - Nice, small hotel, slightly outdated interior but that was OK. On walking distance from city and beach. Rooms are quite small and the interior looks a bit outdated, but still OK
• Richard (8/5): A good business hotel but it needs a little attention to detail. - The location was great within easy walking distance of the port and a wide selection of restaurants and bars. The room was good with a good temperature and excellent bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel WiFi was patchy working in some rooms and not in others. The television had only 6 of the advertised 30 channels and none in English. The corridors looked scruffy with poor carpeting. All problems easily solved!

It was a short walk to Laginha Beach, grocery store, and restaurants.The breakfast served each morning provided a healthy large selection of options and so delicious. To the entire staff thank you so much for making my stay so comfortable and safe! I will definitely be staying at Oasis Porto Grande Hotel in the future.

Friendly staff Be aware the photos are misleading this hotel is nowhere near the beach as the main photos suggest. That is a beach bar. The hotel is a 10-25 minute walk away inland
