Guest Reviews
- Tomasz (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Riad Algilà Fès. The riad is beautiful, very clean, romantic, and full of authentic Moroccan charm. The interiors are tastefully designed and our room was excellent — comfortable, stylish, and very relaxing.
Breakfast was delicious every morning, with a great selection and fresh local flavours. What really made our stay special was the staff — everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Khadja and Abdule, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after throughout our stay.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fes.
- Susan (10/5): Top Notch - Staff were lovely and V welcoming. Most were studying at the uni and their English was excellent. A special shout out for Hassan and Yusuf the night porters and the lovely young girl on Reception. Rooms and facilities are top notch with a lovely big room and huge bed. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast too! I didn't try the spa but could smell beautiful aromas.... All lovely. If I could make one suggestion it would be that the roof terrace seats could be a little comfier, but it's a minor thing for an overall lovely professional place.
- Lucinda (9/5): A welcome riad to retreat to after a busy day sightseeing. - Delicious breakfast and the staff were so kind in supplying us with any extra wishes. Nothing
- katherine (7/5): Beautiful building, but disappointing given the price. - Moved to a larger room for 2 nights. Beautiful room, lovely building. Good location . Manageress was very helpful & accommodating WiFi was slow/ throttled, so didn't use. Original room was right above entrance hall & darker than photos of a double. Manageress agreed to move us for our first 2 nights. No alcohol licence, we like to relax aren't if day in a quiet location with a beer, which is why I chose this riad, so felt I was miss sold. Breakfast disappointing, I'm sure we could have asked for more, but for the price shouldn't have to.
- Marianne (10/5): Fantastisch mooie riad waar je je meteen thuis voelt. - De mooiste Riad van onze Marokko reis. Heerlijke kamer, super personeel. Complimenten voor Hassan en Kadija. Kamer werd dagelijks schoongemaakt. Fijne bedden en badproducten. Veel hoge trappen, maar prima te doen.
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Fabio (9/5): - In posizione ottimale facile da raggiungere. Tutte finestre che danno all’interno
- Kevin (10/5): Exceeded all expectations and provided a step change improvement to our Morocco travels. - Every aspect of our stay at Algilà Fes Riad exceeded our expectations from the porter helping us with bags and navigating the streets to the Riad, the beautiful freshly prepared food, comfortable bed, large room and the ambiance of our Riad stay. Special mention to the manager Siham and every one of the staff who combined to make our stay in Fes and exceptional improvement to our earlier experiences in Moroccan Riads. For us, nothing.
- peter (8/5): Authentic Riad experience. - The authentic decour and layout was just as pictured. Staff were very freindly Yousef at breakfast was a welcome smiley face in the morning. The lady who helped with the luggage a room was fanrastic.
- Bruno (10/5): - Great staff, especially Hassan and Youssef were incredible and made a whole difference in our stay Bedroom could have more lightening
- Antoine (8/5): -
Nada
- Delia (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Great authentic style. Perfect
Location. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Stayed for four nights we liked it so much. Super clean. Nothing
- Lori (10/5): Highly recommend this lovely Riad! - Great location. Very helpful. Nice rooms!
From the moment we arrived Youssef, Hassan, and Abdul were warm and welcoming and are such nice people. They helped with everything that was needed for our stay and more!
- Miguel Carrasco (9/5): Joyful, warm and welcoming stay in a beautiful setting - The staff of this Riad are like a family and feel very welcome. In particular a shout out to Hassan who made friends with our sons and was very friendly. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location is excellent. The hot water / shower stopped working but to their credit they responded very quickly and resolved it.
- Caitlin (10/5): Beautiful riad in Fez and an amazing staff! - Amazing stay in Fez! The rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the hotel’s design is stunning. The location is perfect for exploring the city. A special thanks to Younes, Batoul, and Khadiya for making our stay so welcoming and memorable. Highly recommend! Everything was great.
- Neva (10/5): Amazing staff in a gorgeous riad! - This riad is wonderful! It is newly remodeled and the rooms are stunning. Newly remodeled but contains the old-world Moroccan charm. A lovely quiet and elegant find in the Fes Medina.
What really made this riad a special place, though, was the staff: Hassan, Khadijah, Batoul and Siham are simply the best. They were so friendly, kind and helpful. Hassan, especially, made sure our every need was met. From delicious breakfasts to running to the shop to get me something, he went above and beyond. I appreciate them all so much and they are the heart and soul of this place! All wonderful!
- Brūniņa (9/5): Review of stay at the Algila Fes Riad - I liked the location, it was right next to the Medina and also most of the restaurants could be reached in about 10 minutes of walking, as well it was quite comfortably accessible while going by taxi, then continuing few minutes on foot.
The apartment with two rooms that was given to us, was quite spacious, renovated and clean, all necessary things were provided and working. It was tidied up by room services every day, we as a couple on honeymoon were given flowers, fruits, cookies, tea, nicely folded towels and that was very lovely 🥰.
Also I have to point out the organized, very helpful and kind hotel staff that made our stay as comfortable and good as possible. The host Hassan was greeting us with his kind smile every day, evening and even during daytime when we simply went into the hotel for a few minutes rest, because most of the days we were going out to take a stroll through the enormous Fez medina. Hassan was also serving delicious breakfast every morning at our preferred time and offered his assistance with any other questions we might have. Overall, we were very satisfied with his services. There weren't such things that we really didn't like but some improvements could be made though. For example, the breakfast could be more variable, some small salad like dishes or olives could be offered, still water could be provided and maybe some honey or chocolate cream together with the jam could be served that would go well together with pancakes.
Other minor thing was that the apartment keyholder was too heavy and the keyholder ring was quite poor to hold it together with the key. Not a big issue if you know where you put the key but the thing is that the keyholder falls out accidentally and the key is not so easy to find afterwards. The solution could be a lighter keyholder or simply a better ring.

- cristiana (8/5): In generale buon hotel in centro Medina - Posizione Colazione poco curata
- Caitlin (10/5): Comfortable rooms, convenient location and exceptional staff! - Comfortable rooms, convenient location and exceptional staff!
- Kostiantyn (10/5): - Great Riad close to all the signes.

- Caitlin (10/5): Great stay -- amazing location and wonderful staff, highly recommend!
- Heba (9/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): - The property is lovely and in a great location. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable and the plunge pool was refreshing. Both Younes and Khadiga were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Fes.
- Dennis (10/5): This place allows you to restore and rejuvenate even as you explore from its central location - The property stayed in contact from my initial booking through checkout. They made us feel at home, made reservations and recommendations, and provided a lovely breakfast. Very relaxing after long hours of tourism
- Vincent (7/5): -
- GladysLiu (8/5): Staff are super nice and helpful. Riad is super nice. Just the location is a bit difficult to find - Staffs are super nice and attentive. Basically, makes me feel like home. To my surprise, the hotel offer free drying service so long as I wash my clothes which is convenient. The place is authentic and gives me a sense of Moroccan. I have dinners and breakfast at the Riad and they are good. The staff Younes is super nice, friendly and attentive, takes care of my almost everything. All in all, this is a feels like home Riad. The girl at the front desk is also very helpful as well ( I forgot her name). The cleaning ladies are so helpful, helping me dry my clothes and give back to me on the same day. And they keep my room very clean as well. And the pool is super nice and decors of the whole Riad is very traditional and authentic. The little garden just in front of the room is a shared place and actually I can use any places within, which one feels like home. The location is not convenient to foreigner like me. Car cannot be reached at the door and Fes Medina is like a maze to foreigners. Yet the Riad managed to get someone to carry my luggage from car park which is like 10 mins away, though the man is asking quite a lots of tips which I think it's the responsibility of the Riad which make sure we can reach the property easily and comfortably. The lighting in the room is quite dim to me. if one more table is placed in the room, it would be better and sockets is not very straight forward to use.
- Lale (10/5): Exceptional - The aesthetics and authenticity of it. Staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. We asked for tons of help and they were more than happy to support us. All was great.
- Dov (10/5): - Great staff
- Adila (8/5): - Very well located to access old Medina
Beautiful riad property and has been restored well
Some miscommunication reflecting newness of riad but did not affect our stay
Lovely staff and very welcoming and ready to share things about the city to ameliorate your stay
We would return again !
- Michelle (10/5): - Beautiful, traditional Riad in the Medina. It’s a little chaotic outside, but once you walk in, serene. Staff was fabulous and helpful during our stay.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sol (10/5): - Na
- Rosario (8/5): Lovely little riad, great location and service - The location inside the medina, close to the Blue Gate, restaurants, taxis, tour pick ups, cash machine, etc but also within walking distance of the depths of the medina (tannery, mausoleum, madrassa, etc). It's very easy to find once you get your head around its location within the medina.
Very friendly and accommodating staff, always eager to help.
Beautiful riad with different areas at different levels to just sit and relax, listening to the water fountain that sits at the centre of one of the courtyards. It also has a lovely roof terrace where breakfast is served every morning.
Our room was on the 1st floor and had a lovely balcony overlooking the main courtyard. Courtesy water, dates and nuts awaited our arrival. Breakfast was limited to a traditional Moroccan but it was still nice. Nothing really.
I've seen bad reviews regarding stairs. I agree the stairs were a bit steep to navigate at times, but every building I entered in Fez was the same or even worse. For me, it only added to its authenticity and charm.
- Nitin (4/5): Over rated riad - Close to medina market. Location in the medina. Hard to find. Tall, narrow steps, breakfast location and quality. Small retrofitted rooms. Anybody with knee or heart issues should avoid. The typical riad courtyard was small.
- NY (10/5): - Stunning riad with really professional and helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast on the terrace was lovely, and our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff helped us book a private taxi on the last day and also helped us with our luggage as we had to walk a distance out to access the main road. Accessibility is probably the only downside as you have to walk around 10 minutes from the main road to get to the property.
- Melanie (3/5): Location good - Comfortable bed Our room smelled of sewer gas. We came back to our room to find the housekeepers running water down the drain in the bathroom to diminish the odour- so they tried to lessen. The hot water tap on the bathroom didn’t turn on. Rooms old and needs some care. Wifi not very strong
- Marion (8/5): - Beautiful property, great location, warm and welcoming staff.
- Tsham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful well-located Riad in the Fes Medina - Beautiful Riad in the heart of the Medina, well located and walkable to all parts of the Medina. Riad is beautifully restored, and they are in the process of adding new luxury suites and a pool that will be lovely. The staff was wonderful, helpful and accommodating for anything we needed. They arranged for us a walking tour of the Medina which was so necessary for us to get a good sense of the maze-like alleys and showing us things we never would have found on our own. They also arranged for seamless pickup from the train station to the Riad. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, highly recommend!
- Joan (10/5): - Ahmed and his staff were so gracious and helpful. They made our visit to Fes easy to navigate and memorable. Thank you for such a warm welcome and all the assistance you provided.
- Shuab (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful interior decor and very well appointed rooms. Lovely place to have a mint tea. Very welcoming staff. Rooftop was closed for renovations
It was my 50th birthday but the hotel did nothing extra for me 😞 although they did help transfer baggage to our new Riad which was extremely helpful.
- Nicole (8/5): - Good location inside the Medina. The staff was very friendly. The room and bathroom were okay, a little dated and dark. The shower was a little strange. It definitely could use better lighting. Breakfast was traditional Moroccan pastries and juice.
- VASSILIOS (10/5): - Very nice property area not good unsafe
- Georgios (10/5): Exceptional - Everything perfect, enjoyed my stay at fes. Kind staff also !
- Alexandra (10/5): - The staff made our experience go from great to excellent! They packed us to-go breakfasts when we had an early tour and went out of their way to find us a new ride when ours cancelled at the last minute. The shower head had good pressure but did not spray out well, but otherwise, it was clean and smelled wonderful every time we came back at the end of the day!
- Tarek (10/5): Perfect stay, look no further - My girlfriend and I had an amazing time in this beautiful Riad. The building is wonderful to look at and surprisingly big! Despite this, the staff took time to communicate with all of the visitors and made us along with many around us feel welcome. Special thanks to Zohail for working around the clock to help us enjoy our stay, and everyone working there is really kind and holds themselves to the highest standards. Oh, and the room is unbelievable too! Couldn't believe the size of the place and the style of the room (especially the bathroom) was really nice. The location is honestly spot on, right between the Bab Boujloud and the Tanneries/Madrasa. This is a no-brainer if you want to visit Fes. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Acts of kindness from the Riad which helped make this experience so special:
1. Zohail helped us find a late night bite on our first day as we didn't get to the Riad until 11pm and lots of places had shut
2. We had a lovely breakfast complimentary every morning at the Riad. This was joined with a lovely chat with the staff in the morning who checked on us to see if we liked the Riad and were enjoying our stay.
3. While breakfast was normally 8-10, Zohail made sure that we had breakfast by 7:30 as we needed to catch an early van to Chefchaouen.
4. The staff kindly cleaned our room everyday so we returned to a clean space at the end of everyday.
5. We thought you could take a regular taxi to the airport, through checking in on us they found out this was our plan and informed us this wasn't possible. They then offered to help by organising a taxi pickup with a set price which eased our nerves!
6. We discovered you needed to print boarding passes off for Fes airport the day before flying and they printed off the passes for us to ensure there were no difficulties.
P.S - sorry for accidentally taking the key, I hope the taxi driver returned it!
- Kaithlen (10/5): Very beautiful hotel, would definitely stay here again. - Location was perfect for the medina and the property was beautiful! Each room is unique & the details in the architecture were amazing. The service was exceptional, the dinner our first night was especially amazing! Highly recommend the chicken tagine. We felt safe the entire time and they even packed us breakfast to go when we had to leave early our last day! Overall a great stay. It would be hard to find on your own for the first time (especially if it’s your first time in Fes and you have luggage) so just make sure you ask for help carrying bags to the hotel. After that it should be easy to get around.
- Irene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (9/5): A most enjoyable one! - Very pleasing to the eye, traditional with a touch of class.
The staff is extremely nice and welcoming, always smiling and prompt to meet every request. The value for the money of the extras, food and beverage, does not compare with what you can find around town.
- Louisa (10/5): - We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Loved every minute, the staff were excellent, the rooms beautiful, the area very convenient. Thank you
- Marie-annett (10/5): Would definitely stay here again! - The location in the Medina was superb and the rooms/interior were very beautiful. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful from organizing drivers to helping you find your way in the Medina!
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clive (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruixin (10/5): A really Raid, had a good time here - Everything was so good. Really love this place None
- Ruixin (10/5): Really love it, will come again if visit Fès one more time - Very beautiful! It met all my expectations for Morocco raid. Welcome cookies are delicious. All stuff is professional and friendly. The Beef and Apricot Tagine is the best one that I ever had in Morocco. The bed in our room was too close to the wall, a little hard to get through but not a big deal
- Christopher (10/5): - This Riad tucked inside the Medina is an oasis of calm and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.
The staff were super friendly and helpful and catered to our every need, from arranging a porter to get us and our luggage to the Riad initially to putting us on beautiful rooms and bringing breakfast up to the roof terrace each day.
We had a wonderful stay, only thing to note, much of the businesses in the Medina do not open on a Friday, so we were glad we had time before Friday to experience it, as Friday was a very quiet day.
- Ihssane (10/5): Best stay I’ve had in Morocco, ever! - This was an absolutely incredible place to stay. It was clean, cozy, and beautiful, and the rooms all had AC and were so comfy. Even the body wash was scented with local orange blossom.
The staff were all so warm and so welcoming - we felt right at home the entire time and were so sad to say goodbye to them all! They were kind and helpful and always smiling.
I would come here again in a heartbeat!
- Graham (10/5): Great riad! - Lovely riad in the heart of the Medina-family owned and operated with a wonderful staff who literally walked us all over the city.
Food was excellent and the rooms were spacious and clean.
Will return.
- Khalid (10/5): Exceptional - Best option of individuals and also big groups . We was 12 persons everything was well done. Amazing staff . You dont neet to think they will do everything for you. Thank you so much from me and 12 of my clients
- Marie-alice (9/5): Absolutely charming! - The riad was absolutely charming. The location is perfect if staying inside the Medina during your stay. Hassan, Rachid and Mohammed were very attentive to our needs and always ready to help. Lots of steep stairs- but I imagine all the structures in the Medina are built the same way.
- Koreena (10/5): Amazing Time at a Beautiful Riad - This place looked just like the pictures! And the staff were amazing. Rasheed and Hasan were attentive, friendly and ridiculously helpful. Truly appreciated their care in doing anything they could to make our stay better. My sister had an issue in her room and they immediately moved her. And when they found out it was her birthday, they took the initiative to decorate her room as a special surprise. Breakfast on the rooftop was also amazing with great views of the Medina. I was fine with this but if you have issues with stairs, this is not the place for you.
- Li (10/5): - Stayed two nights, Beautifully decorated rooms, very clean, AC and water pressure are wonderful , food is delicious, Imperceptible services and communication at Riad Algila Fes, highly recommended !

- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional, comfortable, tranquil location in the “old Medina!”! - Exceptionally beautiful property in a tranquil location in the “old Medina”. We loved how friendly, helpful and attentive the staff were. Especially Mohamed and Hassan and the other young man at breakfast. The team also arranged to have a driver pick us up from Casablanca as the trains were full. And Nourdrine, the driver, was fantastic as well. Lastly, Mohamed organized a half day tour of the Medina with Hassan who was terrific. Definitely high on our stays in Morocco! Nothing!
- Thomas (10/5): Really lovely Riad, and lovely helpful staff - Really charming Riad, beautifully decorated, and in a great location. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. I hope one day I can return. I can't speak for other options in Fez, but I can say I am more than happy to recommend this one, stay here you won't be disappointed. Nothing

- CLIVE (10/5): -
- Tamir (8/5): Good but not sure about next time - Team was welcoming and very attentive and friendly. Located not far from the local Hugh market. This riad is quite far from the road and taxis and
Located in an unpleasant place during night and dark hours can be quite intermediating
- Carolin (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay at Algila Fes. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, a safe, minibar and bathroom. As it was cold outside, our host switched on the heating so we arrived in a cosy warm room.
Moreover all the people were very helpful. They organized a German speaking guide to show us Fes. For the next 2 days we had excursions fo Chefchaoun and to the Atlas Mountains which were also organized by Raja and Mohamad from Algila Fes. They chose an English speaking driver and guide who did a great job.
In the evenings when you come back tired it is very comfortable to get dinner in the riad so you don´t have to surch for a restaurant. The typical Maroccan food was very tasty.
We really can recommend Algila Fes and we will come back soon. Thank you for everything.
- Ella (9/5): Great staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was excellent. Room comfortable. -
- Roberto (10/5): - Thanks to the host of the riad Algilà I had a fantastic time . They made my first visit there a breeze . The riad is easily accessible, clean , nice rooftop, good food . First day there was a problem with the AC but they quickly handle the problem with care . The staff was knowledgeable about what to do where to go eat and other questions . I would definitely go back there .
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sumana (9/5): lovely, would recommend to others! - absolutely beautiful riad! very comfortable amenities and comfortable bedding. the breakfast was average. not accessible by car and a bit of a walk from the Main Street but as long as you have help with bags - it’s no problem.
- Ravindra (8/5): Well run, clean bed and breakfast. - Staff were wonderful. Very responsive and helpful.
Once inside, Riad was clean and relatively comfortable.
The description does not give details such as access to cars, how far you have to walk through the narrow alleys to get to the property etc.
What we found was that Riads in Morocco are relatively expensive, poorly located, old renovated structures that are managed well. Location and value for money. Had to carry our luggage or hire a porter to walk 10 minutes to get to the property.
- Carolina (10/5): - Wunderbares Riad im Zentrum der Medina von Fes. Sehr freundliches Personal, schöne Zimmer, hervorragende Küche auf Bestellung!
