• Tamara (8/5): Great little motel in a great location. - It’s extremely convenient to Linden Square and Carpinteria State Beach. Great value for a safe, clean place to stay. Motel 6 towels are always so thin and the pillows are always flat. However, the staff brought me extras anytime I asked.

• Williams (1/5): Reservation Cancelled Without Notice, Price Gouging, and Unsafe Sleeping Conditions - Helpful albeit overworked front desk staff. Clean room. I booked a stay at Motel 6 Carpinteria South on March 8th through Booking.com for $107 for a room with two queen beds. When we arrived on March 28th, we were told, without any prior notice, that our reservation had been cancelled. Both bookings.com and the hotel blamed the other party for the cancellation. While we were there, another guest arrived and was told the same thing, suggesting this is not an isolated incident. The hotel was fully booked, but after another guest cancelled, we were allowed to rebook a one-bed room for $245. After a 1.5-hour wait and failed attempts to get help from Booking.com (including being hung up on), we still had to pay $176.53 for a room that did not meet our reservation. No extra mattress or even cushions were provided, forcing three adult-sized people into one queen bed, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about basic guest accommodation standards. I have since attempted to resolve this with Booking.com and have received no response. At minimum, I expect a refund of the price difference; given the circumstances (including cancellation without notice, extended wait time, and inadequate accommodations), a full refund would be more appropriate. This experience reflects poor coordination between the property and Booking.com, lack of transparency, and unacceptable treatment of guests. I would strongly caution others against relying on reservations at this property (and through bookings.com) without guaranteed confirmation and clear check-in policies.

• Kathy in Crestline (9/5): Just a nice play to take the dog. Lots of places for him to sniff, etc. - I stay there one night monthly to visit grandkids. I bring my little doggie. All went well, but second time this happened that the key was turned off at 10am while I was trying to pack up the car! Had to go to the office to re key. This has happened before. While I am trying to pack up the car to check out, the key was turned off.

• Jonathan (10/5): 10/10 for giving my room requests actual mind and following it up with it - Great check in experience as the front desk gave me the exact room to my "quiet corner room away from people as possible" First time I got that, quiet experience with no one next door knocking on walls, or listening to their foot steps. The beds actually had super comfortable mattresses compared to my last few stays at motel 6, so that was a big positive plus The housekeeping arriving super early around 6-7am and pushing their cart very loudly as hinting they want u out cause they want to clean the room. It was multiple times the houskeeping later stand by my door/window for a minute or 2 just listening which made me super uncomfortable, I get they want the most rooms done before their lunch but 7 am is way too early to be pushing guests to leave as we need to have our time and moneys worth to the room.

As well as booking.com not helping me to get a refund and the hotel manager being incredibly difficult. I will NEVER use booking.com again because of the lack of support despite the proof I provided with photos and that the county has since required them to treat for bed bugs.

La ubicación puede ser práctica para una parada corta. La habitación era muy pequeña y estaba en una segunda planta sin ascensor. Al llegar faltaban toallas y tuvimos que pedirlas. Pasamos frío, ya que viajamos en diciembre y solo disponían de aire acondicionado en modo frío. Aunque aceptan mascotas, no ofrecen ningún detalle para ellas, como cama o comedero.

The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. It is a great place to sleep. Also, the little town of Carpinteria is great too!

Garbage in the room was not cleared, no clean towels. I asked why they didn’t clean it, the answer was that the housekeeping had to many rooms to clean.
