• 135SteveP135 (10/5): The Best Hotel - Ever - This is without question the best hotel and location I have been to. I could leave it at that and you'd have to believe me, or you can go there yourself and find out. Everything about it is amazing. I cannot praise every member of staff enough for what they did to make our stay a forever memory. Aside from the staff.  The food, drinks, and wine were incredible.  The grounds were stunning. The amount of sunbeds available ensured access at any time. The cottages were incredible. In a nutshell it is beyond excellent. (If TripAdvisor had a level up from five this would be in it.)
• petertZ2375ZY (10/5): This is a fantastic resort which is really friendly and great quality. - You are greeted in a very friendly fashion and given a personal tour of the resort. It is not big but has everything you could need for a quiet relaxing holiday. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them. The food and drinks are excellent, you will never go hungry at this resort. The trips are very well organised and cater for most people. You can always tell how good a place is by how quickly they fix a problem and for a couple of minor issues that we had they were fixed very quickly with no fuss. A special shout out for Mikel, Angel and Wendal who went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. Thoroughly recommend this resort for a quiet relaxing holiday.
• spmmik53 (10/5): Boutique resort set in a tranquil coastal location - This was our 4th visit to St Lucia but our first to East Winds. We were looking for a small east coast resort and we were absolutely delighted with our selection. East Winds comprises 33 rooms/cottages set in beautifully maintained gardens. The setting is truly tranquil - this being a small resort. There are no "noisy neighbour" hotels !!! You awake to bird song - regrettably there is an enthusiastic rooster who insists on crowing in unusually early hours. This aside, the bird song dominates. We had one of the Deluxe Cottages set in gardens slightly higher at the resort. The room size was very generous - we loved the layout and the step down shower. There is a covered outside private patio area with table and seating. The rooms are maintained daily and kept very clean. One aspect of possible improvement could be the provision of full size bath towels in the bathroom. We frequently resorted to the use of beach towels. This said, the towels are changed daily. There are plenty of sun loungers with cover in the beach area either side of the restaurant and bar. The sand beach (set below the sun lounger areas) is clean, but small and narrow with no room for seating (see photos). There is also a good size pool for those less tempted by a dip in the beautiful Caribbean. East Winds has only one restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are plenty of tables and absolutely no need for an advanced reservation. What we particularly appreciated was the changing daily menu of truly quality dishes. This being a small resort the food is freshly prepared to order. The menu caters for all tastes and provides meat, fish and vegetarian choices. The fish selection during our stay was impressive with fresh local fish such a Red Snapper, Blue Marlin and Tuna being offered. Quality wines accompany your meal. No "house wines" here !!! The wine selection changes daily with 2 choices EACH of red, white or rose being offered. Daily entertainment is provided at mealtimes - lunch and dinner. Lunchtime entertainers included fabulous steel bands whilst more sedate live music was provided in the evenings. The staff are fabulous, always ready to chat and super helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much. For those interested in rum there is a tasting of quality rums weekly. Similarly there are weekly cookery demonstrations. Returning to the resort grounds, as mentioned at the beginning of this review, East Winds is set in spectacular garden. These are maintained by Silvanus and his team of gardeners. Silvanus offers tours of the gardens 3 times a week and these are an absolute "must do" for visitors. A full tour takes a good 90 mins. East Winds is a fabulous small (boutique) resort. The staff are superb and friendly, the food is fabulous and fresh and the setting is spectacular. Yes, the cost may be at the higher end but here you most definitely get what you pay for. Great rooms, tranquillity, great food (and refreshments) all supported by a truly helpful and friendly staff. Would we return? MOST CERTAINLY !!!! Thanks to all at East Winds for a fabulous stay.
• Nja29 (10/5): Absolutely nothing to find fault with - we will return! - This is a truly amazing place. Nestled in the tropical rainforest with its own beachfront, you barely know it is there from the sea, unlike its larger neighbour. There are only 30 rooms - we had a deluxe room which was huge, accommodating an extra single bed for our daughter. Excellent aircon and huge bathroom plus large veranda with permanently restocked minibar and feeders allowing us to while away time watching the beautiful humming birds and quits. A beautiful room. The food and drink is incredible, the best AI package we have ever experienced - including champagne, high end spirits and so much food. Dinner is 4 courses with 3-4 choices at each, including really good vegetarian options in the open restaurant right on the beach. Chef Ivana is regularly seen and is happy to adapt dishes as required. Likewise multiple decent wines available and refilled frequently and generously during dinner. Lunch is buffet style with multiple options and hugely generous. There is also a lite bites menu at lunchtime which we used often after similarly huge breakfast. We really found nothing to criticise as far as food and drink concerned. Generous, high quality and flexible - could eat in the dining room, in your own room, on the beach or in sun shaded cabanas. Time to start the diet now….. The cocktails were varied and strong! But again if you wanted something special, it was easily accommodated. The beach is sandy and small but there are more sunbeds than guests so no issues there. Non motorised watersports only thank goodness, shout out to Devon who took us out on the hobby cat. We had no trouble getting kayaks or SUPs whenever we fancied (most of the clientele in March were older than us, 95% plus of their guests are returnees, can see why!). All the staff are so friendly, learnt our names quickly and nothing was too much - a real Can Do culture which is so refreshing. Too many too mention everyone we met but Mickel who delivered many cocktails to our sunbeds, Selma and Brianna always smiling at breakfast and dinner, Robert at the beach bar and Simeon who organised lots of trips/events if you wished to partake - we went on the sunset cruise, attended the rum tasting, cocktail contest and the managers party, all great fun but no pressure to take part. Overall the best antidote to a long grey UK winter and I’m sure we will return!

• Tikkitie (10/5): A lovely restful resort. - Our second visit having liked it so much the first time. Our beach front room was excellent, the beach and snorkelling was better than I remembered. The food choices were not as large as I would have liked but the food was well prepared and presented by the restaurant ladies who were always very pleasant and quick to serve. The entertainment was nice but only one night was it possible to get up and dance, the Friday night D J and singer. Many guests got up to dance and we all had a great night. One more night like it I’m sure would have been very popular.
• robertdF9620IA (10/5): A Charming Well Run Boutique Resort - East Winds is a fabulous friendly small beach resort. The staff are extremely friendly and competent. The property is well maintained. The all-inclusive food is of a high quality. Rooms are spacious and well laid out. On the negative side, it is a small resort. There is no gym at present, though we hear there are plans for one. There are some activities (excellent Yoga and pilates classes with great instructors) but this is a quiet spot with a more mature vibe to it. PS there was a wedding while we there and the pavilion was made up in a really charming way. Would be a great spot to book a private wedding for 50 or 60 guests or less.

Much more relaxing than the huge great hotel complexes dotting the shoreline! Food great, and gardens beautiful. Big shoutout to all the staff, who were amazing. And in particular Devon and Mac, the beach sports guys, who looked after us so well!

• carolynb47 (10/5): An absolute gem - What a lovely hotel ! We returned for our fourth visit . This is a really well run hotel . Grounds are spotless , rooms terrific , food consistently great . The staff are , without exception , kind , polite , great fun . Music in the evenings varied - pianist , singers , sax player . It's quiet during the day - perfect for reading and relaxing . There are excursions if you choose to do them . We had a lovely time . Thanks to all staff .
• 378DavidR378 (8/5): A mixed bag! - Many aspects of this small all-inclusive resort are lovely, including the staff and the refurbished rooms. However the walls are thin, and we had to ask to be moved following sleepless nights due to noisy young neighbours thru the nights. St Lucia Road traffic has got much busier compared to our previous visit a few years ago, such that it took 2.5 hours to be driven there from Soufriere. Not East Winds’ fault, of course, but the 35 minutes’ wait on arrival to get to our room was, whilst the 2 staff present at Reception were busy - with another customer in one case, and sat busy at her desk in the other - and both too busy to offer us a welcome drink. We were also surprised and disappointed by the reserving of sunbeds from early morning by the other guests, in the style of a Spanish package tour hotel!, which meant it was difficult to find anywhere to sit on the beaches on several occasions. We felt that the resort was suffering from the only occasional presence of Judith the MD since our previous visit. But I have still given a 4-star rating to this review, as much was done well, eg the restaurant service and food, and the live music during the meals.

• Kathryn (10/5): Beautiful, quiet resort with great facilities and food but memorable for the exceptional and personal service from all t - Lovely location; apartment set in a beautiful garden with communal facilities right on a quiet beach. Apartments all have a private patio, screened by vegetation and have a well-stocked drinks fridge and coffee machine, ideal for relaxing and watching the humming birds. The food is excellent with breakfast and lunch buffets and table service with choice of menu in the evening. It’s a very small resort and the staff get to know everyone so they don’t have to use wristbands. Never a problem getting a sun bed wherever you want one. It’s on the expensive side but the standards are very high so I think you get what you pay for.
• JanoBT1 (10/5): Paradise in the Caribbean - I looked for the best place to stay in St Lucia by doing lots of homework on Tripadvisor, as I always do. The reviews led me to East Winds and it sounded so good and boutique we decided this was where we wanted to be. All the reviews say how lovely the staff are. It's so true- you are all amazing! The whole buzz of the place is because of how well the staff get on with each other; the happy vibe they give out- It cannot fail to rub off on you and make your stay perfect. Everyone is good fun, and just to give an example of how far they go to give you the best time, one chap who was staying there had to use a mobility scooter to get around because his legs didn't work well. He used the same sun bed every day, and, just to make life a bit easier for him, EW actually sent two guys to extended the paved walkway by about 5 feet just so he could park the scooter right next to the sun bed, and reduce the amount he had to walk. That's how much they care. Absolutely first class. Although it's unfair really to single out any particular member of staff, because they are all amazing, I must give a special mention to Windel. He was completely on our wavelength and made us laugh so much with his infectious personality. You could hear him laughing a long way off, and it makes you smile. The restaurant, the service, the food, all first class. We had a Superior Cottage, and it was absolutely perfect- nothing else required. Watching the hummingbirds on the feeder from our terrace was a joy. The views from the sun beds are so beautiful. Everything about EW is. The fit walk is good too, just to stretch your legs. We had several excursions arranged for us by Simeon (another first class chap), in Good Vibes- we can definitely recommend the Sunset cruise, Fort Rodney, and the horse riding on the beach- all amazing. Our fellow guests were first class also- thank you all for being so nice. The Friday Evening Beach party was really good, and hilarious! The icing on the cake of an amazing week. EW has a lot of repeat visitors. It's so easy to see why, and they have just got another two. We already know when we're going back- we both agreed it is the most beautiful place we've ever been to. Thank you all so much!

Merita pe deplin premiul 2024 Small Hotel Award. Excelenta ideea managementului hotelului de a avea muzica live, fie la pian, fie la saxofon, artistii au fost o surpriza extrem de placuta. In mod cert vom reveni si pentru revelionul viitor. Unele bungalowuri necesita mici reparatii si renovari.

• travellingpleasantly (6/5): Great ingredients for food and good wine. Showing its age in rooms, facilities and dining. Ended up leaving early. - We spent a very long time considering options for our holiday in St Lucia. We’d looked at the usual alternatives (Ladera, Anse Chastanet, Cap Maison etc) and chose East Winds because (i) it is truly all-inclusive with no extra charges; and (ii) the number of reviews from returning guests seemed a good sign. We’d booked for 10 nights but ended up leaving after 7. Positives The food is good - a bit dated in terms of the menu - think meat and two veg rather than haute cuisine - but the ingredients are top drawer and it shows. The two meals cooked on the enormous BBQ were the best; amazing fish, lobster and steak. Breakfast is good - all the usual options catered for. Lunch is fine - and to be honest you probably won’t be that hungry. Something more enlightened like poké bowls or similar would show the resort moving with the times but it really is stuck in a 1990s version of good food. The wine list is excellent at dinner (we saw the wines offered cost about $50-70 in other restaurants on the island). The wine list at lunch and the rest of the day was more limited but good - a nice Provence rosé as well as champagne was always available but dinner is a step up. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough to help. They make good conversation and seem to enjoy their jobs; the staff made staying there really enjoyable. The live music entertainment at lunch and dinner is great; fun and unobtrusive. The grounds are well-established and very pretty - a morning walk around them was enjoyable. Negatives The rooms are quite small and whilst recently refurbished are showing their age. The air conditioning in ours was noisy (ticking intermittently all the time). The natural beach no longer exists - the captain on our day trip boat explained that since the hotel was built, sea levels have risen meaning the sand in front of the hotel has all but disappeared. At high tide the waves smash into a sea wall built along the front of the hotel. The hotel has therefore put sand (quite gritty) on the lower parts of the grounds to create an artificial beach. This is ok, but quite small. The sea wqs cloudy with the sand meaning snorkelling was pointless as it was like being in a (warm) UK gravel pit. Staff told me that when the tides are high, the hotel uses a generator driven water pump to remove seawater from the hotel grounds so it doesn’t flood bedrooms and the restaurant. Imagine a noisy generator a few feet from your bedroom window and you get the idea. The water pump was located almost immediately outside our room and was extremely loud when operating. The fact the hotel has permanently installed a pump for this specific purpose shows it’s not an exceptional circumstance to have to use it. The pump started at around 06:00 on two mornings and ran until about 12:00. This not only woke us up very early but also was extremely disruptive for one morning relaxing on the beach. There were no other sun loungers free in the sun and so we could not move to an area further away from the noise (it is a small hotel). I’m unsure when it stopped on the second day as we left the hotel early to join a boat trip. On neither day were we able to get back to sleep after the pump started. I reported the problems with the water pump to reception before leaving on a hotel-organised boat trip for the day. I explained options were a) do nothing which is obviously not acceptable; b) move rooms with partial refund which defeats the point of having specifically booked a beach view room (or we would have booked a different hotel); c) leave the hotel and receive a refund for remaining 3 nights. The receptionist wrote this all down. I was told the manager was not in but would be available to discuss options when we got back from the boat trip. On returning from the boat trip, I went to reception expecting to speak to someone with the authority to solve the problem because that is what I had been told to expect. Instead, I was told that everyone in management had gone home already and nothing could be done. This is despite knowing precisely when we would be back as the boat trip was organised by the hotel and one member of hotel staff was on board. Reception called the manger who said she was back at 08:00 the following day. I said I’d probably have been up for 2 hours by then which at least amused the staff. I called BA Holidays, who we’d booked through, and explained all of the above. BA Holidays phoned the hotel, explained the problem and asked if we could move rooms and were told that even that was not possible until the morning because everyone had gone home. We left and got a taxi to Stonefield Villas for the last 3 nights of our trip. This was the right decision; in the end, we were happy nobody from the hotel was available to help. East Winds quickly refunded us for these 3 nights which was good of them but to be honest expected in the circumstances. Minor points; somebody came round the very small beach only once a day (the hotel only has 30 rooms) to ask if we wanted a drink. In such a small, well-staffed, high-end hotel it is not unreasonable to expect regular beach service, perhaps via a call bell or something similar which I’ve seen at a number of hotels in the Mediterranean. The hotel gym was closed with no indication when it will re-open. The bollards which support hammocks in various places around the hotel grounds were left in place but no hammocks were available. The feeling we are left with is a hotel well past its best and trading on return business garnered long ago. Having spoken to other people staying elsewhere, I think the food and wine at East Winds is better than probably anywhere else. But we wouldn’t return because of the risk of noise from the seawater pump and the fact the beach is very small and the snorkelling non-existent.

• Daveontour500 (10/5): Top Class Hotel Set In A Tropical Paradise. - We have just returned from a weeks holiday at East Winds, St Lucia. This is a delightful place to stay. All aspects of East Winds are first class. Guests do not stay in rooms but instead are accommodated in single storey cottages set in beautiful tropical landscaped gardens or facing the sandy beach. The cottages are well furnished with a luxury bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a large bed, a well stocked mini bar fridge, tea/coffee making machines and a TV. Each cottage also has a private outside area for sitting under some shade. The rooms were cleaned each day to a high standard. Our cottage was beach facing and we also had a covered lounge area which was shared with the other three beach cottages. This lounge had its own coffee/tea making facilities, lounge chairs, tables, board games, a TV and an extensive library of paperback books. East Winds is an all inclusive resort with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. In addition all drinks including wines, beers, cocktails and premier spirits are available. At lunch and dinner there is relaxed musical entertainment. There is also a bar at the swimming pool. The staff are all friendly, helpful and efficient. Tips are not expected at point of service but a gratuity can be made when you settle your finial bill. Trips and activities can be arranged. Some water activities are included such as snorkelling, canoeing and sailing on the small catamarans they have on site. The beach is sandy and swimming in the warm Caribbean was a pleasure. We opted for a number of additional trips and activities which are an extra. We went on a Sunset Cruise, a shopping trip and an all day cruise down the coast to see the Grand Pitons and Soufriere. All these trips were organised by East Winds with staff accompanying us. The success of the holiday was in much part due to the staff of East Winds. They have a relaxed and friendly attitude but are very efficient at the same time. I have nothing bad to say about East Winds. This is by far the best holiday hotel that we have stayed in. Whilst there, we learned from other guests that they return year after year. I can quite understand why. I recommend East Winds to anyone wishing to visit a Caribbean island.

The service from every staff member is 6 star especially Titus who looked after us in the restaurant from day one at breakfast through to dinner. And Silvanus who gave us the most amazing tour of the extensive gardens and his knowledge of all the plants and their medicinal benefits is fantastic. • G3745KFkarenm (10/5): Amazing again 🥰 - We hadn’t been since 2016 but this was our 7th visit to east winds and it did not disappoint. The decor had been upgraded and had more of a Caribbean vibe to it which was beautiful and the robes in the rooms were amazing. It was lovely to see so many of the staff still there and as happy as they have always been, even nicer that some of them remembered us too. The food standard had certainly raised its level for us and Ivana is doing an amazing job. If I had to pick one fault it would be the lowering of the dress code for the evening meal, we always like to make an effort and dress for dinner so to have people sitting beside us in shorts and flip flops was a little disappointing but everyone to their own. The staff clearly enjoy their work and always have a smile for everyone. We want to tell everyone about this wonderful place but also keep it to ourselves so it never gets too busy 😁
• ClaraI (10/5): Amazing, Beautiful and Truly peaceful Resort - What a beautiful Caribbean Paradise id East Winds. First time we stayed in St Lucia and East Winds did not disappoint. The resort is small but perfectly formed. The food, was really good, prepared fresh and locally sourced. All the staff was so attentive and friendly that we felt immediately at home. Miriam, Selma, Robert, Brianna a nd so many more staff that made our stay so special. Davon and Joe at the sport centre were really nice and immensely enjoyed the boat trips . We found quite a few guests who were repeat visitors and we understand why. Special thanks to Nikita and Katherine, Pilates and Yoga instructors, both very professional but also extremely good in assessing the guest needs, really enjoyed both activities . The garden are so well tended and Sylvus guided tours a must.Thank you also to the resort Manager, Natasha, who dealt extremely well with the checkout day. • Triptrav (10/5): Bliss in the Sun again! - Having read Adam B’s review I can’t really add much more, he covered all elements, mentioned all relevant names and by the looks of it stayed in the same room we stayed in probably the week before us as we have only just returned. It was our second time too, the first time was in May this year which was so charmingly blissful and beautiful that after 40 years of travelling to the Caribbean and never staying in the same place twice couldn’t wait to return so immediately booked again for October being just four months later (this time though we were able to enjoy the wonderful lobsters). There are not enough superlatives to accurately describe this amazing place, it is so very special and communicates old time Caribbean vibes with modern day technologies and luxuries not to mention the beautiful food, named wines and champagne. I could enthuse all day about my new found Caribbean home but it’s all been said before so I will just finish this review with the words “l’ll be back”

• AdamB3390 (10/5): Our second visit to Paradise - My partner and i have just returned from our second visit to the absolutely stunning East Winds and just had to leave another review after yet again had the most amazing, relaxing time. We returned to East Winds firstly because its such a small boutique hotel, perfect location set in gorgeous botanical gardens and so relaxing and the perfect escape from from our busy lives Being our second visit we knew what to expect from our first visit but the welcome we received from all the staff, welcoming us back really made us feel at home straight away. We were even given the same room we had on our previous visit which was a lovely surprise and again perfect. The grounds are immaculately maintained and all credit to the knowledgeable Sylvanus and his team who work tirelessly keeping everything looking so good As with our first visit the staff are amazing. The moment you step back in the restaurant and are greeted by the smiling Miriam and Selma as well as Robert, Kirby and Septima. The food once again was amazing, always a wonderful choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. A huge credit to Ivana and her team. Once again the service we received was faultless. It was great to see the smiling Simeon again who looks after the trips/activities even though this year we decided not to take any trips and to spent the 10 days just relaxing on the beach, taking in the breathtaking views an drinking cocktails perfectly prepared once again by Sylvia. What more can i say but a huge shout out to all the other staff not mentioned above who make East Winds such a wonderful place to be. • F3247JDjs (10/5): Heaven in the Caribbean! - We recently returned from a 11 night stay at East Winds and it was amazing, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Everything about this resort helps to make it a truly relaxing and enjoyable holiday experience. All the staff on site, be it restaurant, bar, water sports, housekeeping, spa or gardens, were so friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The managers were often walking around and always stopped for a chat to make sure we were happy with everything. The food was plentiful and of a very high standard and, after speaking to the head chef at the managers cocktail party, it's clear that they have a passion for delivering the best for the guests. We stayed in a superior cottage which had a really pretty secluded outside seating area, it was nice and close to the pool and it was kept spotless by the hardworking housekeeping team. The interior was beautiful with some lovely little touches such as a pile of books and mosquito repellent along with tea and coffee making facilities and a complimentary mini bar that was re-stocked every day . We joined in with the Yoga & Pilates which were a great start to the day and Nikita, who took the Pilates class is next level, we really wish we could have brought her home as her knowledge, skill and ability to assess us and help us get the most out of the sessions were second to none. I also had a lovely facial at the spa with Jennifer which was a real treat. To sum it up we wanted for nothing and would highly recommend this resort. It's not a big party place but it is perfect of you're looking for an authentic, relaxing, quiet hotel set in beautiful gardens where you really can leave your troubles behind. We will definitely return and hopefully in the not too distant future.
• jonrD2381IH (10/5): Stunning stay at East Winds - I recently stayed at East Winds with my wife and her parents to celebrate her 30th birthday. The hotel was exceptional and I would highly recommend it. First, the garden and grounds in the hotel are wonderful and create an authentic Caribbean experience. The beach is spacious and feels very natural and there was plenty of room to choose and relax on a comfortable sunbed. The restaurant has a lovely view of the sea and to enjoy beautiful food with the sound of the waves was very tranquil. The food options were varied and always felt healthy and fresh. The four course meal each night did not feel stuffy or too much and the excellent waiters went above and beyond to cater for us. From sampling the home made ice cream of the day to fresh mango and beach BBQs, it was all fantastic. I looked forward to breakfast every morning, especially when the chef Germaine would cook up fresh pancakes for me. The drinks menu was extremely varied as well. I haven’t listed the wait staff in this review, because they were all absolutely amazing and friendly. In relation to activities, the programme was interesting and made the most of the grounds but were truly brought to life by the passionate and enthusiastic staff. The head gardener, Sylvanus, was extremely knowledgable and my in-laws really enjoyed the garden tour. The Pilates classes were fantastic; Nikita provided tailored sessions to help out each member of the group and that ensured it was challenging for the variety of levels in the class but very enjoyable. The paid day trip boat tour was also a highlight. It was great value and allowed us to see and explore one side of the island and the glorious Pitons. The watersports guys were also great. Joe and Devon were always ready to take us out on a hobbycat or kit us out with a kayak and it felt very safe and efficiently run. Our rooms, deluxe cottages, were spacious and extremely well kitted out. An extremely comfortable super king bed and interesting interiors made it a great place to chill out. The patio area was a great place to relax and watch hummingbirds thrum around as well. Our suggestions for improvement are minor (and would only elevate an already fantastic hotel to an even more wonderful property) and are as follows. First, a more substantial gym would really elevate the hotel. Even if it’s just a treadmill and bike and some more weights in the yoga area. Also, a mosquito net above the beds in the room would provide an option to help keep bugs out. The hotel does provide sprays and candles but some extra protection would be welcome. Additionally, it would be nice to have a more elevated brand for tea bags than Twinnings, as the rest of the hotel is so sophisticated. Finally, a price list in the boutique for clarity would also be helpful. Overall, East Winds is an elegant and peaceful hotel that creates extremely relaxing ‘good vibes’. This isn’t a ‘party’ resort but has a lovely atmosphere with fantastic live music (including a steel pan band). The friendly staff made us feel welcome from the start and they went above and beyond to make our stay special. The hotel grounds and beach are stunning and it was a fantastic place for a celebration. I would highly recommend!

• St-Lucia_Enthusiast (8/5): A nice return - East Winds Another lovely stay. Room 30 was in top condition and housekeeping was good. The large bottles of Molton Brown toiletries very welcome. Lively white towels and large fluffy beach towels that wrapped around the body like a comfort blanket. The resort itself had turned a vibrant pink with green and orange accents. At first I was a bit taken aback. But I got used to it quickly albeit with the help of dark glasses ;/) All serving staff were good and shout out to Tajh who looked after us in the Cabanas come rain or shine. I enjoyed my chats with her re local life and hot peppers and spices. The food To be honest we did have an initial issue with this. The resort is serving a la carte food at lunchtimes with mixed results. On two occasions it was obvious the food was batch cooked and fine for people tho like to eat at 12:00 but not for those who like to eat from 1pm. After a while we had a meeting with Mary and Chef Ivana and things really improved after that. . We felt our concerns had been listened to and acted upon. Some of the food was standout and the quality of the meat is much better including the delicious steaks. Also good was the pork pepperpot . Evening menu pretty good although I missed the sushi. Sometimes I would skip the main course and have three starters, sometimes I would ask for a half portion of the main. Desserts were good and the homemade icecream amazing and well worth asking for. Cocktails were variable and very much depended on the people making them. I had some great Martinus and some mediocre ones. More consistency would have been good. The champagne was. Very good for an AI. Shoutout to the guys in Watersports. I had a great hobiecat sail across the bay with my friends with Joe in a separate Cat acting as the safety boat and guide. We had a cracking sail in good winds across the bay and back. I l love sailing and Joe and Devin and MacG helped build my confidence. I noticed they were interacting with guests on the beach too and encouraging people to try out the sports. Entertainment was good and I enjoyed Dien, Tommy and Erland on the sax. The Friday night bbq and party was fun and the guests were up and dancing. Good DJ who chose appropriate stuff for us to dance to A lot depends on the clientele of the weekend and we were lucky to have people who wanted to enjoy themselves. I was sad that both the shak shak band and the Babbaneau Steel Pan orchestras no longer made an appearance at lunchtimes. I understand that it is the low season however. They were bought in in our last Saturday by a regular guest abd 6 of us were crying at their excellent rendition of “Mission Impossible” As we faced up to the fact that we were leaving! Mary, the new GM, was very kind, eagle eyed and interactive with the guests. She also listens to concerns and acts on them. I will be interested to see how the resort develops as she has a lot of experience managing high end hotels in Jamaica. Finally the dressing robes were wonderful and I bought one back as a souvenir from the little gift boutique. Would I return - probably yes if the food concerns are addressed. But it will depend on pricing too as there is more competition at that price point now. However the ambience, style and little beach is hard to beat.
• Q4100JXjulier (10/5): A Taste of Paradise - Just got back from an amazing holiday at East Winds. This is without a doubt the best all inclusive holiday we have ever been on. The rooms were beautiful with everything you could possibly need. The restaurant had a breathtaking view and food to die for. With a perfect beach with comfortable loungers and parasols each with a table for the all important cocktail and an amazing view, what more could you possibly wish for. The pool had a help yourself cocktail bar with an equally spectacular view. Mary was so lovely and always around to check everything was to your liking. Her staff at East Winds are more like a family and you feel you can't wait to visit again to catch up with them all. We have never felt so pampered before and would like to thank everyone there for making it a truly special holiday for us.
• natyoung3 (10/5): Good Vibes at East Winds - A serene and peaceful resort, this is one of the most relaxing holidays we’ve ever had. AI food is excellent. A daily changing breakfast smoothie and buffet with a la carte lunch and dinner. Refined but plentiful choice even for our fussy teenage daughter. If she wanted fries on occasion they didn’t hesitate to provide. Miriam’s accompanying wine choices were delicious. The real stars here though are GM Mary and her team. After only a week we felt we’d made real friends and were sad to leave. Late check out was a lovely touch. It gave us a final day to properly enjoy it with no stress and was indicative of East Winds to put their guests first. Beach is beautiful but mind the sea urchins around the rocky areas. Snorkelling ok, but go out with Mack on a hobie for better places nearby. Boat trip with Captain Nico fab. Our room was well quipped if fairly dark. Any niggles were addressed immediately so not worth mentioning here. There’s plenty to do, but this isn’t the place if you like a buzzier scene.
• C7740VBsarahh (6/5): Honest Review - I regret to say my Husband and I agree almost entirely with Suzanne M’s comments both the good and the bad. I should start by saying we do like the East Winds resort very much and staff and visited previously 3 times many years ago when we enjoyed fantastic a la carte dining. It was like going out for a special dinner every night. We visited again in October last year and as I don’t eat meat or fish the menu choices for me on our recent visit were woeful. Particularly lunch, dinner and barbecues. I had a meeting with the chef to discuss the lack of vegetarian food after I was forced to eat the cheese board as my main course on a couple of occasions. It’s so hot in the Caribbean yet the dinner menus were full of vegetable stews or bakes, not at all light or creative. This is something I would never choose to eat in the UK and certainly something I wouldn’t get dressed up to eat. I was forced to have second courses like risotto as my main, these didn’t always come out as a dinner size portion. The amuse bouche starter was also generally meat or fish with no vegetarian option. Lunch was also hit and miss, I ended up eating salads or side dishes. The chef was fully aware that I would eat grilled shrimp yet surprisingly these were not always available. There seemed to be no communication with the kitchen over my dietary requirements so I dreaded mealtimes. When you’re paying this much for a holiday you don’t expect to be fretting over food and in this day and age you expect the hotel to cater for vegetarians and vegans at all mealtimes. My Husband, who does eat meat also struggled with the heavy meals. We also agree with Suzanne M’s comments on the music as the piano music, while professional is dour and doesn’t create a lively atmosphere. Why aren’t there more reggae bands, that would seem more appropriate for the Caribbean. I should add that our average age is 60+ and we like boutique hotels but it does need a bit more life and atmosphere. We had planned to return this year for our Wedding Anniversary however due to our experience last year we have now booked elsewhere. The purpose of this review is to be constructive and we would like to return in the future but not in its present form.

• 304suzannem (8/5): Nice setting but restaurant menu from the 80's - The setting and buildings are wonderful, and the individual rooms are beautifully designed, with magnificent bathrobes (I even bought the PJ's they sell there). Also the staff are amazing. Sadly, what lets it down is the restaurant. It felt like the chef bought a cook book in the 1980's, and hasn't changed anything since then. Food like beef burginon and lamb shank are not the sort of meals you expect on a Caribbean island, (give us more authenic food!) and the cocktail menu was woeful (didn't realise til it was too late that you could actually order your choice of modern cocktails as well). It all needs updating asap!! At 57 we were one of the youngest guests, and it did have a retirement home vibe, made worse by the dreadful musical entertainment which reminded me of Richard Clayderman. Could so easily been made into a wonderful experience by updating the food offering to bring it into the 21st century!
• shumphreysmd (10/5): Get away from it all - We had a wonderful week at the East Winds. Everything about this place, especially this service was top notch. The beaches are amazing. There are always enough chairs, they really get to know you as a staff. Miriam, Michel, and Nickey were awesome as well as many others. My husband did the garden tour and enjoyed it much more than either of thought (as a 52 yo man who has no garden). The food is fresh, and even though there's only one restaurant, they have a new menu everyday. I especially enjoyed the grill lunch with shrimp and fish. So perfect. Drinks are great. I hope we'll be back. thanks to all.

After 45 years of travelling to the Caribbean and never going to the same place twice I’m now happy to stop searching for that perfect special hotel. East Winds ticks 99% of all my boxes of which I have many, my compromise is the lovely beach not being long or wide enough but it’s such a small issue it’s not worth worrying about as by the end of the week I learnt to love it. This beautiful little boutique hotel epitomises the authentic Caribbean which has become rather elusive over recent years with the American fondness for polished marble, mirrors and brass, making a poor attempt of something they think the Caribbean stands for. The nearest of true Caribbean vibe you will ever come across is at East Winds with laid back luxury thrown in, fabulous food, beautiful dining areas, quality wines and Champagne, exquisite personal room touches, the friendliest staff with a passion to please, beautiful lovingly tendered gardens, clean and tidy palm fringed beach and really lovely guests that are soon your friends, it’s like a private club and I can’t wait to return. Thank you Mary and your team, with a special mention for Sylvanus as I personally really appreciated the beautiful gardens, thank you for a beautiful holiday.

• 920marvinr (10/5): Paradise - My wife and I revisted East Winds for a third time, originally honeymooning at the hotel 28 years ago, and again for our 25th wedding anniversary 3 years ago. The hotel is set in beautiful tropical gardens, well tended by head gardener Sylvanus and his team. The restaurant, bars and pool (with swim up bar) are all a stones throw from each other and the beach The warm and friendly welcome makes you feel at home immediately. The entire staff are kind and courteous, with no request too much to ask. The relaxed atmosphere and 'good vibes' among the staff ensured we were straight into the holiday spirit. Previously we had stayed in the 'deluxe' cottages, this time we chose the 'superior' Our room was very spacious, with all amenities we could want. Tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge constantly stocked with water, soft drinks, beer and wine. The bedroom was large and accommodating, with more than enough wardrobe and drawer space for our 2 week visit. Air conditioning was very welcome. The bathroom was spacious, with his and her basins, walk in shower, and much to my wife's delight, a copious supply of Moulton Brown products. The food was exquisite! Breakfast, lunch and dinner always satisfied, with the dining room staff always attentive but not intrusive. The most difficult thing about dining here is deciding what to choose to eat, as each choice on the menu was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ate that we didn't enjoy. And with the restaurant positioned right next to the beach, I cannot think of a more perfect dining experience. The bar staff were equally as friendly and attentive, both in the bars and also at the pool and beach. It was a struggle to get through all of the cocktails on the menu, but we gave it our best shot! The trips and activities organised through the hotel by Simeon, the always effervescent activities organiser are definitely worth trying, from the exquisite boat trip to Soufrie and the volcano, the beautiful sunset cruise, rainforest, distillery tour and chocolate making just to name a few. The hotel also provides some free water sport activities. Snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding are freely available as well as trips on the hobie cat around the bay. In all, I cannot think of a more beautiful place on earth to visit. We had a truly wonderful time! We will certainly be returning soon!

We never had any issues getting a beautiful beach spot, pool chair or using the water sports. The rooms were private little cottages, which made it have a unique and prestige feel. We will definitely be returning. I loved every bit of this resort and their staff.

The room was spacious and air conditioned with an unusual semi-circular sunken shower. The food was very good and the evening music, particularly the saxophonist, was excellent. All in all, a really great place to stay.

A very special place, which is essentially a tropical paradise with incredible service, staff and facilities. We have never felt so welcomed to a hotel and frankly this has been the best by far that my wife, 2 x children and I have stayed at. The setting is a lush tropical garden in which the accommodations are nestled, before seamlessly merging into a tropical beach with beautiful turquoise and emerald waters. The property is relaxing, easy to navigate and all on one level! My only concern before going was if it was going to be too exclusive to adults for my 2 children to enjoy. This completely evaporated from the moment we arrived, the staff, the interesting setting and the excursions were very child friendly and you could tell they genuinely loved having our children and a few others stay. The food was delicious and the restaurant was gorgeous. The decor of the place is interesting and individual and reflects the vibrancy and peacefulness of the setting. At the heart of it all were the incredible staff - from the restaurant and bar, the spa, the beach water sports, the ‘good vibes’ excursion organiser, reception, security and the managing director! We were very impressed with the excursions and the organisation of everything - the hotel is clearly well connected with the island! We saw lots of dolphins on one of the trips, which was just awesome. Thanks East Winds, simply the best
• Kittster1 (10/5): Best Caribbean holiday ever - Our feeling really echo all of the other 5 star reviews. We’ve had some fabulous holidays in the past but I was truly wishing to stay a few more days. The relaxed, friendly, superb quality service is unparalleled. The joy and approachability of every person there just makes me smile to remember it. It was the perfect place and vibe for us with very low key (but talented) musical entertainment and the feeling that you can interact as much or as little with other people. As first timers, we were in the minority as there were a number of multiple repeat visitors. We will be in the lucky group as we’ll be booking for next year as soon as flights are released! The food was fantastic at every meal as were the wines and cocktails. Everyone that helped us with food and drink and room cleaning was a gem. Can’t wait to see them again and get to know them a bit better.
• TrewinDorset (10/5): Excellent, faultless, superb, beautiful - all the superlatives! - Wow East Winds is beyond lovely! Every detail is so well thought out - whether its the rooms, the gardens, the food, drinks, beach, pool - everything is spot on. The decor throughout is beautiful, airy and bright with lovely fabrics & colours. We stayed in Superior Cottage number 5, in the lush gardens and near the pool, bar, restaurant and beach. It was elegantly furnished, spacious and well-equipped - with gorgeous robes, insect repellent (we never needed), a superb hairdryer (priceless!), tea & coffee, full fridge etc. Each cottage also has a bird feeder, so we had frequent hummingbird visits to enjoy. A lovely touch. Food and drink were excellent - everything included and high quality. Breakfasts are important and here they were stellar every day, crispiest bacon, perfect eggs, melting pancakes or porridge to order, fresh pastries, fruit and yoghurt, delicious juice and smoothies. Lunches were varied, but always with tasty fresh & light hot & cold options. Dinner menus are different every day and everything we ate was delicious from amuse bouche to dessert. Drinks whenever, wherever - including fruit punch, a good choice of wines and limitless rum & cocktail options. Plenty of cushioned loungers on both sides of the beach and by the pool, all under structures or resilient parasols. A relaxing atmosphere everywhere. The gardens are full of variety, colour and birds and are very well maintainted. We enjoyed an informative 2.5 hr(!) tour of the garden one morning. All this is provided by superb staff - reception, housekeeping, management, bar, garden, restaurant - everyone was brilliant and always so friendly. This was our first visit, and we felt as welcome as all the many repeat guests. Our whole stay was faultless, and so kind that they are flexible with departure time - with a night flight, we continued to enjoy everything until 5 p.m., it's a hard place to leave!
• charleskF5498GI (10/5): A happy and lovely hotel. - We have just had superb 12 nights at East Winds. We were in the beach suite, number 30, which was spacious with a large shower room and a comfortable terrace. The food was good and the barbecue very welcome. There was low key live music at lunch and dinner which was a nice touch. All the staff are a delight under the watchful eye of Mary the general manager, who was a lot of fun. Taj the lovely waitress adopted us, but there were too many wonderful people to mention by name. One great surprise was the other guests who were just so friendly. We made many holiday friends and some we will see again soon. A happy and lovely experience.
• tootsj (10/5): Perfect piece of paradise on this beautiful island - The delay in writing this review must not reflect on how beautiful, wonderful and special this hotel is (I'm just not very organised!) We had two weeks here and each day was a joy. Every team member we met was so friendly, and were genuinely proud of where they worked and the experience everyone who stayed there got to enjoy. Particular highlights were the trip up the coast via the mud pools and waterfall, the return back singing along to Ricky T Soca and snorkelling in the clear waters off the hotel's beach, will live forever in our memories. We'd only stayed all inclusive once before this hotel, it's not our preferred choice of accommodation. East Winds was so far from any other all-inclusive and several other hotel options, we've had; a wonderful, spacious room, delicious food and great wine choices. Thank you. Helen and Andrew
• Gordon81 (10/5): Bliss in the Caribbean - We have visited a number of Caribbean islands in the past but never found the perfect spot for a variety of reasons: tired hotel, poor service, poor food, bad value and unfriendly staff to name a few. Then we found East Winds where we are currently halfway through the perfect holiday: joyful staff, well appointed and tastefully done cottage, lovely beach with plenty of covered sun beds on the beach and by the outdoor pool, bars a plenty, excellent food in the characterful restaurant and some event on offer every evening. Trips to explore the island by land or sea are available and the twelve acres of gardens are a delight. This small boutique hotel best serves older couples who come for winter sun and to chill. The young would miss the lack of nightlife and walkers would find the size of the property somewhat limiting. The majority of guests are English and many are repeat visitors. For us this is heaven and we expect to thoroughly enjoy the rest of our ten days and hope to return next year.
• L169TKbradleyc (10/5): Wonderful for couples - With only 30 rooms, and no disco or casino, bring your own partner. Yoga and Pilates offered on site, as well as cooking and tasting activities. Offsite excursions also offered. Water sports offered include Hobie Cat sailing (with instruction), snorkeling, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Small beach and pool with sufficient chaise lounges provided. No need to claim before breakfast. Good shade offered at the beach (trees and structures). Small surf. Excellent food with dinner served. Gluten free and vegan offerings. Excellent live music with dinner. Only a few danced. Roughly 80% of guests were Brits. Many were regulars. Good resort for “mature” guests. Resort setting is a garden. Abundant flowers and hummingbirds. My wife and I enjoyed each other in the beauty and quiet of this special place. Disappointed that we did not have an expansive beach for morning walks. Rocks and trees on one end of our beach and Windjammer Resort on the other end.
• MartinC138 (10/5): Wonderful - Just returned home after a wonderful 9 night stay. An amazing hotel with incredible staff made this a relaxing and memorable trip. Facilities and food as well as the beautiful beachfront setting make all the review comments very well deserved but for us it was the staff that made the holiday.. hardworking, attentive with a real personal touch. We stayed in room 12 which we loved. close to everything. only 2 minutes walk to the beach but from our veranda felt like we had our own little world to sit and look out at the beautiful gardens. My wife enjoyed the Yoga and Pilates classes and we both took part in the rum tasting and garden walks. Would recommend a trip to pigeon island and Rodney bay, as well as going further a field to The Pitons. The fact that the majority of the guests were multiple repeat visitors says it all. We would love to come back again one day
• CJBRJB (10/5): Exceptional - We split our stay in St Lucia, 4 nights in the south and 6 nights further North at East Winds. We are not really beach people but we loved East Winds. There was enough to do as well as time to relax. We stayed in room 27 which was lovely, it had a sea view and the feeder on the balcony attracted lots of birds including hummingbirds. We took part in the yoga and pilates, we had massages and I had a facial. We went out on the hobie cat a couple of times, the paddleboards and used the snorkeling gear (although not too much to see). We did the excursion to Pigeon Island and the walk with Simeon on a Tuesday morning and the rum tasting was brilliant. The quality of the food and wine was exceptional and all the staff are so lovely and very helpful. We loved every minute of our stay and would love to return again one day. Thank you for such a great holiday.
• amarsh_stockport (10/5): Paradise - Can’t fault anything! The team, the gardens, accommodation and attention to detail. The cottages are just stunning! I loved that the resort never felt overcrowded, it made it so much more relaxing. If you could make a plane that could get us there in an hour from the UK that would be the icing on the cake! 😂. We had a lovely Christmas with our girls and will treasure our memories and our cute Christmas gifts.
• 420iana (10/5): A great experience - An excellent resort , very helpful and friendly staff , excellent cuisine. Impressive attention to detail . I think that the photo in the tripadvisor picture was taken front the beach front room where we stayed, most of the "rooms" are separate buildings in the grounds, not necessarily beachfront. We talked to fellow guests who included a number who were returning ( 8th stay in one case ) and we want to go back again, as soon as we find an alternative to the BA jumbo flight ( which I wouldn't recommend) . Some of the guests were happy to spend their time on the beach, we, and others , took advantage of the hotel's specialist trip organiser ( Simeon ) to arrange visits to experience different parts of St Lucia. Would definitely recommend Eat Winds.
• z0shiaf (10/5): Private Paradise in Pink - You won't find a better place to stay. Anywhere. This little Boutique-by-the-beach location is exquisite, caters to your every need, is safe, friendly and surrounded by lovely gardens. Where-ever you walk you'll see something beautiful, whether it is the hummingbirds, some new flower, or the Beach itself. Very private and relaxed, the sunchairs are extremely high-quality with excellent padding and are under fixed-post thatched umbrellas. Waitstaff will gladly bring you any drink or snack, and they loved my new Mocktail! (ask for La Zo and see if you like it too) The rooms have everything you need, and the sunken-in showers are a delight. Bed is super comfy, good sized spaces for hanging, luggage racks, bathroom spaces etc. On arrival my bed and the whole room and bathroom were decorated with flowers grown on site and changed a few times for fresh ones. It was a magical holiday. I wish I could live there. The restaurant is excellent and I'm told lots of people from nearby resorts come just for the all-inclusive drinks and meal menus. Very fair price. The restaurant staff are very accomodating. You'll love the changes in menu every day and the fresh fruit blends they offer at breakfast. I didn't want to leave the grounds at all but I did take a tour on a yacht which went down to Soufriere, and we had the mud experience and the waterfall and then snorkelling in the afternoon, with lunch provided by East Winds kitchen. Far better than I was expecting, it was a truly lovely day. The musical entertainment is quite varied and I enjoyed every performer, however, they have a Pianist who is most extremely talented and makes any evening a highlight of your stay. Just sitting in the Hexagonal Bar, with the Book Exchange and the Orchids can be a pleasant way to spend the day, but I confess the gentle tides and the pink lounge chairs called me again and again. The water is truly emerald in colour, and due to the little bay, easy and gentle to swim or float in. The Yoga room which caters to pilates etc is a huge, wooden decked- open space and I enjoyed the walking tour of the Garden with Sylvanus very much indeed. I am counting the days until my return. I won't stay anywhere else in St Lucia.
• Patrick (8/5): Lovely location and team. A very special few days. - The staff were great. The grounds and surroundings are mature, statuesque and beautifully kept by the gardeners. The sociable shared spaces and regular unpretentious evening gatherings and live music encouraged guests to mingle and get to know each other. The vibe was very friendly. Mary, the manager, was very present and engaged with the guests. The buildings have been there a long time and show it in some ways - but they are comfortable and they work. Our only issue was a bit of noise from our neighbours who both seemed to have enduring coughs…

This place is one of a kind and the staff made a big positive impact on our stay. We will certainly be back.
• Eve (9/5): A relaxing, enjoyable stay where nothing seemed to be too much trouble - Accommodation spaced apart in mature gardens, plenty of space for clothing. breakfast excellent, lunch/dinner different each day, no reservations req'd for sittings. Only additional payments were for any excursions and treatments. Tipping policy is pay if you want at end of holiday and shared amongst all staff, who were helpful and friendly. No loud music, peaceful and quiet. the drive from airport is approx 85 minutes due to only one busy road. Lighting in rooms could have been brighter.

Only the trip on the catamaran was an issue. We were allocated to a commercial cruise. This was too busy, too loud really although the trip itself was good.

Quiet pool area, lots of available sunbeds on beach or poolside with as many towels as you like. Fabulous and well-appointed cottage/villa surrounded by a lovely garden and mango trees. Many guests here were returning - we can see why. Very hard to think of anything as all so good. Only negative really is that it is a 90 min drive from the airport.

Dont worry about fighting for a good spot on the beach or by the pool. You will never be crowded here. My wife and I had the privilege of staying the week at East Winds in June. The propety is immaculate. The food is great. Top shelf alchohol flows freely. The staff are polite and make sure your every need is met. Contact them and let them arrange your transportation from the airport. Its easier and the drivers they arrange are curious,trustworthy and have clean vehicles. Once you arrive, relax and dont lift a finger. Bags are taken to your cottage room. The ac works great. Rooms are cool when you arrive. Flowers, chilled champagne and chocolates are waiting for you. And from there do what you like. Aragments can be made for your excursions on the resort. The Sunset cruise is very nice. We had drinks and fried barracuda while taking in the beauty of the island sunset on a immaculate yacht. We went on a fishing charter with Salty Boat charters. Also arranged by East Winds. The two brother crew were fantastic. And there rum punch is the best you will find on the island! Other than that we spent most of our time relaxing on the beach or in the clear Caribbean water. I can't say enough good things about East Winds!
