- Trenton (10/5): Great service and location - We really enjoyed our stay at 99 Te Gallery hotel. The staff provided amazing service upon arrival and through our stay. The room was comfortable and vey clean. There were self serve laundry facilities which we needed at this stage of our trip. They had a restaurant and bar. We were able to get beers, ice and other drinks upon request. They had umbrellas that they would loan out with a deposit, which came in handy for us who forgot to pack umbrellas during monsoon season. The pool was a nice touch, and we enjoyed it after a hot day of exploring around town. The AC in the room was a welcome respite after the heat of the day. It was also very well located. The price was also very reasonable for the service and amenities. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

- samuel (6/5): You can find better - the only place during my holiday where I felt a bit scammed. they advertised the accommodation as 70% off(roughly. don't remember the exact number), just so you think you get a very incredibly good deal. as I booked it last minute, I felt it slis possible as they couldn't sell all rooms, so I bought the promotion. I know if something sounds too good it is too good, but despite this I expected a higher quality - if I had paid what I paid as a full price and not at 70% off, I would have said it is a fair accommodation, but I expected a much higher quality. the description said it has a balcony, and there was indeed something there, but not external (ie. more like another room in the room) and no view to the outside world. They said they had a pool, which is again true, but it is tiny, only couple of people can fit around it and those would be the ones on the ground floor. The personnel was lovely, although this was the only place where they clearly asked me to wait until they check my room for damage before I got my deposit back which leaves you with a strange feeling (I am sure they checked it at the other places too, but somehow they managed to do that in a less obvious way) other than that, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable with a superb location.

- Loic (6/5): - The hotel is well located, stylish and the staff are great, but where quality of sleep is concerned, it falls down considerably. When I stayed I was still ajusting to time differences but it was impossible to sleep beyond 8am as the cleaners seemed to parade up and down the corridor pushing the loudest trolley and speaking loudly on walkie talkies, for what seemed like 2 or 3 hours. I also chose the hotel partially because it has a pool, but this pool is tiny, only has three loungers and is located right on the main hotel thoroughfare, so not exactly in a relaxing environment. Not a bad hotel but not really the tranquil oasis I was hoping for.
- Matthew (8/5): Comfortable accommodations - We enjoyed the room. We had a patio and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean and well maintained, except for some damage to the wall where condensation had accumulated under the wall-mounted air conditioner unit. We didn't see mold, but I was slightly concerned. The breakfast was a la carte and not included in the price of the hotel. The options were limited and the restaurant was small, but it met our needs and want too expensive. The hotel is in the old town inside the wall, and was a convenient, designated pickup site for our excursions.

For me the only negative was how little sun the pool received (about 2-3 hours from about 1:30 to 3:30) each day. I stay in Chiang Mai long term so want to relax after a morning of exploring, an afternoon by the pool then find a good restaurant for dinner and further walking about.
- Michael (6/5): Small rooms and poor wifi - I appreciate the efforts of the extra efforts of the check-in personnel to get me into a room early after my train dropped me in Chiang Mai at 4 am. They were fully booked but made a room available to me before 10 am. I booked for 3 nights but changed hotels after the second night. I couldn't deal with the slow wifi. It took 2 hours to book my next hotel in Bangkok. Also there was no chair of any type in the room i selected and no room for one if i had asked for it. The bathroom was adequate, the restaurant, adequate, the location, adequate.

You would never know you were in the middle of a city. The room was awesome, spotless, and the bed was too comfortable to want to wake up in the morning. I spent four nights here and wish I could have changed my flights to stay longer. I would highly recommend 99 The Galley and if I'm ever back on Chiang Mai, I would stay here again.

- Marc (8/5): Amazing staff - Staff there were amazing, so helpful and went the extra mile to drop off my sons tablet and toy to the airport after we checked out as we had accidentally left it in the room. The room was ok, it did the job and had AC (the bathroom didn’t). For us, it would have been better to not be the first bedroom door off the street but it felt safe so was ok. Overall it did the job, it was a little tired and was safe and cheap whilst we went and saw the elephants and was safe enough to leave our baggage there overnight in the room whilst we went away for the night.

All questions asked of the front desk was answered quickly. If I were to ever visit Chiang Mai again, I would definitely stay here again.
- Th (8/5): - The hotel is super clean, location is nearby the weekend night market just some steps, they have laundry service and seft laundry by washing machine with a good price. Staffs are very nice. The minus point is the aircon in my bedroom is leaking at night so we can't use it and they fixed it the next day. And water in toilet and bathroom is stopped at the evening and they fixed them in the next morning. Towers are clean but old, the hotel should change them.

The rooms were comfortable and the whole building had a 'colonial' feel.. the sort of look you would expect to see in an old movie. We loved it!! It was right in Old Town and so most things were in good walking distance. If I ever visit Chiang Mai again I will definitely stay here.

I had a small accident with a scooter and they were extremely kind and helpful with me. I ended up extending my stay. I was very lucky to be staying at the hotel while I had the accident since it was the perfect "healing place" to be (and it's perfect for a normal vacation as well 😊). I am sure you will enjoy it! - mark (6/5): Ups and downs, not quite as pictured. - Nice staff, comfy bed, great lobby, but room has cheap laminate floors compared to the lovely teak of the lobby and my room had no lovely bath as pictured online. Shower was OUTSIDE the room on the balcony. Bathroom has awful stench from floor drain, a classic sign of bad plumbing (no trap). Location was fairly desolate, especially at night. I wouldn't describe this as a lively area of town. Glad I only booked 2 nights, then moved elsewhere.

And breakfast staff were very friendly. The only complaint would be the 100 baht charge for breaking a glass in the room. You wouldn’t be expected to pay for a broken glass at a restaurant, and we are paying a lot more to stay in hotel. The desk clerk also seem very apologetic and embarrassed to tell us about it, but it’s not up to him but the management. Otherwise a very lovely stay!

- F. (4/5): - I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to this time. If I book a standard room with a queen bed, I expect a queen bed and not two single beds put right besides each other. The rooms are dated and need to be refreshed. There was mold in the room both in the bathroom and near the AC unit. On the plus side, this hotel is well-located and close to many of the city's attractions.

Our tv did not work in one of the rooms and there were stains on the carpet. One of the elevators was broken on 2 of the days we were there. Overall it was a decent hotel. It gets very crowded when tour buses come. It's located next to all the bars, restaurants and shopping. Close to a train station also.

- Chris (8/5): - Property is definitely a bit dated but that’s kind of typical so it’s fine. Bathroom definitely could use a do-over as the tile is mildewed so the shower feels a bit gross. Breakfast was wonderful, staff was wonderful and the complimentary tea at check in was the best we had in Thailand. Location is great. Everything inside the walls of Chiang Mai is pretty accessible so the location, nice and central is just great. A bit quieter than one of the main streets in the city but still very close on one of the many many side streets with slightly less traffic. Wifi kicks you off regularly and requires signing back on so that kind of annoying. Gripes were pretty trivial though. For the price we paid this was a bargain!

The staff spoke perfect English and was so sweet and helpful with everything: answering questions, giving suggestions, helping to book excursions, reserving taxis, and even laundry service. Rooms were clean and comfortable with air conditioning, and the breakfast buffet had lots of options. The location was perfect, right near temples and tons of cute restaurants, and there were several markets within walking distance as well. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport and 20 from the main bus station. I would definitely recommend them!
