Dusche vorhanden außer Betrieb, heißes Wasser Fehlanzeige und das angebliche Restaurant auf dem Dach - nicht existent.
- Angela (10/5): - Innen alles super, sauber. Sehr gutes Preis Leistung Verhältnis.
Zentral gelegen. Die Lage in Alt Delhi. Super dreckig ringsherum, Verkehrschaos. Aber das ist halt Delhi.

- Manon (10/5): Very nice - Perfect location if you need to catch a train
Very nice staff that chercked me in at 00:35am and checked out a 5am
Comfy, clean and quiet rooms
- Kalpesh (9/5): Superb -
- Elise (8/5): Good hotel - The hosts are nice and helpful. The price is good for a room. The hotel is located in a nice Dehli area and close to everything needed. Not perfectly clean.
- Werner (7/5): Good - Good breakfast Hard to find the hotel, no signs in the street
- Jorge (6/5): Nice team, place is ok. - The Amax Inn is located on a dead-end alley in Paharganj. Location is what it is, not the greatest of all places, but the Amax Inn was not as bad as you can think of. The room was clean, the bathroom was OK and above all, the managers were very correct and helpful at all times. We had a late check in and all went smooth and fast. They even allowed us to choose between two rooms.
- Hawlader (2/5): - This is dirty hotel, too much bad smile, I checked late that’s why stay few hours than left. Toilet too duty, no toilet rolls, no water tap no shawer line. This for street people’s.
- Snigdha (7/5): Good -
- Omar (8/5): Very good - Good, clean rooms. Good value for the location. Friendly staff.
- Dinesh (1/5): Bad - Although people were helpful but location and safety doesn't match. The location and surrounding area was very bad. At the entrance near the lift I saw a lot of mess of hotel language. Very dangerous in case of fire hazard due to congested construction. Do not see it safe for family
- Md (5/5): Passable -
- Anaïs (8/5): Very good - The bed was very comfortable. I arrived very late at night (2:30 AM) and it was no problem. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They even changed money for me. Good wifi connection. As in a lot of hotels in India, there was no hot water when I used it. The cushions were not very clean. Overall still a good experience, I would recommend it.
- Robert (8/5): Decent enough hotel for the money - Basic hotel and staff were friendly enough. Window of the room basically faced a wall, but to be expected in the cramped area of Paharganj
- Imh (9/5): Superb -
- Clément (10/5): Perfect : clean and quiet rooms, and helpful staff. - We had a very nice stay at Amax inn. The staff is super nice and helpful. And the rooms are very clean and quiet. And great location.
- Gurung (10/5): Very pleasant and will recommend all of my friends to stay here. - The place was in the heart of New Delhi. Very close to India’s trademark buildings. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. There’s nothing to need t like about the property.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Ryotaro (4/5): - ・トイレットペーパーがない。
・テレビの電源がつかない。
・あまり清掃されていない。
- urmil (2/5): - Trash
- Marie (9/5): In the same hotel since 30 years (33 times in India !) Managers and staff like family. - The first room was to noisely ( back street ) and the manager proposes us another room in a new structure. Very clean, very quiet. The terrasse is pretty and breakfast correct. Always Food available . Proximity of MAin Bazaar, Railway New Delhi Station and Connaught Circle. Silence of staff after 10 pm
- John (6/5): - Bad first impressions with two members of staff hassling me about buying travel tickets before I’d even checked in.
Room was an ok space, but couldn’t get antiquated AC to work and ceiling fan was so loud as to make sleep difficult.
Minimal natural light from the window opening out onto a wall a foot or so away.
Did seem to have on demand hot water, unlike some places in the area.
Sure it’s cheap, but there are other better places nearby for similar price.
- Shakila (7/5): Good -
- Prasad (5/5): Not as per expectation - Poor and delayed service
- Agnieszka (10/5): Since 12 years, every year I choose this hotel and I am always satisfied. -
- Bhupinder (1/5): Bad -
- Jens (8/5): OK value for money - First of all:
Be aware of the taxi driver trying to scam you when taking a cab from the airport. They told us that the roads to the city center were closed because of riots, and that they had to take us to the "tourist office" to find an alternative place to stay, prefereably out of Delhi. Refuse to let them take you there, and say you will take another cab. The "tourist office" is only there to scam you!
The hotel:
- Ok bed.
- Smelly fridge, and not working.
- Super noisy ceiling fan and AC, and no remote control.
- No hot water.
- Should have been given a blanket for cover, and not the heavy, not so clean, felt carpet.
We enjoyed the location, lots to see, though the streets in the area was very busy and dirty. As expected.
- Mylan (4/5): - Service was prompt. Most staffs were Nepalis men, they do not greet, smike, or speak much and do not offer any assistance unless you ask. Dirty tea kettle in room and refrigerator, toilet flushed very slow. Most of tv programs were not available and programs were not recharge so we were not able to watch anything for 2 days. Menu from restaurant are small and very few choices, but food was ok.
- Meena (1/5): Bad -
- Md. (6/5): Pleasant -
- Abdul (6/5): Me & my wife were stay at 9 nights (24Mar 4.00pm to 2nd April 10.00am)water,complementary no serve - location is not good Room rent is not reasanable
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gimena (4/5): Disappointing - it has a restaurant with very good good for a good price. the room was nothing similar to the pictures.
it was very dirty, we even got dirty towels and sheets.
the location was very bad as well. the area is not nice at all and the hotel is located on a street hard to find and not nice.
also the staff were pushing us to buy a very overpriced tour.
I don’t recommend this place at all
- Beverly (7/5): Satisfied - Friendly helpful staff. Value for money. good facilities. Delicious simple food in the restaurant . Location is good but property is quite hard to find
- Peter (6/5): - Room stunk of cigarette smoke from previous occupants. Rooms need a serious deep clean to freshen. Often noisy in hotel (aside from the noise of Arakashan Rd).
- Md (1/5): Bad - Very busy area , location is ok Hotel price is high, not clean at all, Wi-Fi is too bad, first day they gave me one bad room in 4th floor, next day they changed but they didn’t consider price, just one word it’s was very bad
- Susan (1/5): Bad - The staff is very helpful and pro active We booked 2 nights in January. The room was extremely cold and damp, after one night we left. The driver sent by the hotel who picked us up at the airport, tried to scam us by saying the hotel was not available. Very basic room, not too clean. You get what you pay for. Suitable only if you have a very tight budget
- Amirali (2/5): Worst stay pls avoid - Worst experience, pls avoid staying at this hotel as the rooms are shabby, doors does not lock, bathroom has leakage, lift was not working, staff was helpful but were constrained due to their working limitations
I would rate this hotel as 1 star
Pls avoid this hotel... or be ready to write a bad review.
- Perera (8/5): Very good -
- Lucy (5/5): clean tidy room, everything else pretty dreadful - the room was clean, shower was basic but nice with toiletries provided- toilet roll etc, the hotel was clean and tidy inside there is no rooftop lounge or terrace to sit, its literally a roof which other rooms open onto, not really somewhere to relax and is covered in dirt/rubble
it’s in the middle of what we found out to be the red light district of paharganj, it’s entrance was down a dingy alleyway covered in electrical wires, bricks and rubble with the signs all saying we are in lonely planet! I don’t understand why or how they managed to get into it, have contacted lonely planet as it’s neither a safe area for travellers and especially women, every local person we met were pretty suprised we were staying there, and to the point our tour company immediately booked a hotel somewhere else for free the same day just to get us out of there.
when we went back to check out they charged us for all 4 days after stating as we arrived and checking under 3 days, their card machine was old/outdated and actually didn’t accept any of our cards, - which was really inconvienant, as a hotel I’d expect an up to date card machine which accepts international cards, especially for the price we paid.
not good value for money in my opinion, the room was lovely but the facilities, and surrounding area is not as described and pretty unsafe for travellers.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and shouldn’t be in lonely planet.
- Aneesh (9/5): Superb -
- Kartik (1/5): Bad -
- Vivek (7/5): Good -
- Joshyrider (5/5): Passable -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel may have seen better times, but it definitely not worth the 4,200 rupees that they charge me per night. It is a depressing place, with perhaps clean but they were definitely grey (from endless washing and drying in the local polluted air). The roof top restaurant is a roof, but not top, as it is surrounded by other roofs with water tanks, washing lines, etc. and there is no restaurant. The food is brought to you from the same place as the room service is brought. All I saw there was a british guy, wrapped in a blanket against the cold night who read about it a roof top restaurant in the Lonely Planet (I read what they wrote about the place, and I don't think they were ever in it). All in all, not a good experience. I booked in advance, but left the next morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good place to stay with family very near toNDLS,very helpful staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Billigt boende med ok-läge. Något stökigt område med en del oväsen tidigt på morgnarna.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was very good. Desk attendant tried to scam us into paying taxes on the hotel booking, which were already paid to Expedia with a notation that they are passed onto the vendor. Was definitely a scam, given up by some of his statements "Most people don't realise that they have to pay the taxes locally" plus others give away statements. Hotel was very good but just warning others to check their Expedia invoice to avoid paying taxes twice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice friendly staff. Very good food. Serves alcohol. Noisy rooms that don't look like the photos. Damp bedding. Cold room. Reception staff unabie to buy train tickets despite pestering us to do so.
- DEB (6/5): - The hotel is located in a very congested and dirty area close to new delhi railway station.Airport link metro is close-by.Hotel stuff was friendly. The room we were given was small(atleast compared to the pictures) and wasn't very clean as well.Although during next day's room service they cleaned it properly. The hotel can be consdered if you are on a tight budget in delhi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location of the hotel was bad....the path to the entrance was so bad it was difficult to manoeuvre the bags. Otherwise all else was ok
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend Hotel Amax Inn.
- Derik (10/5): Clean and Quiet (great AC!) - Love our stay at this clean and quiet budget inn in Delhi. Loud and dirty in the streets. Quiet clean retreat inside the hotel and room. Excellent AC.
- Am (10/5): - Good place to stay. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a stay near NDLS
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice terrace and friendly staff - The staff are extremely helpful, quick and very friendly. The terrace is perfect to relax in the breeze and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. We used their pickup service from the airport as we arrived at 1am and it worked out perfect and our room was ready when we arrived. The room was spacious and clean, the showers were hot and the wifi worked well. The bed was comfy though could have used an extra sheet instead of the felt blankets and the a/c didn’t work for whatever reason but it wasn’t needed during our stay. The hotel also organized us to take a Tuk Tuk to New Delhi Train Station for a good price without the hassle of having to negotiate. The only thing we didn’t really care for was the area on the way to the station, walking that way was a bit dodgy and I would suggest walking to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg Station instead and take the Metro.
- Sam (10/5): Good hotel, great staff - Clean and comfortable rooms, quite noisy but to be expected with the area. Food on roof really good, especially the veg thali! Good luggage storage area, and let us stay in the lobby for hours when our train was delayed after our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel did not have room the first night we booked - offered us a room in another hotel. Stayed at Amax for second and third night. Staff is great - friendly and helpful. Room was smaller than pictured. Hot water, AC working. Loud from other guests and vehicles on street. Bed is ok; pillow is thin. Clean. Good location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooftop restaurant was not great although the food was tasty. Room was small but clean. We booked a driver to take us through the rest of our trip (Agra-Pushkar-Jodphur-Jaipur-Delhi). They gave us a good price - ~£13 per day per person for two people. If they offer to book trains for you and say there aren't any seats left DON'T believe them. Go to another travel agent (plenty on the same road) and ask the to book trains for you.
- Naomi (8/5): Perfect for backpackers, friendly staff - A clean but simole room, central location for exploring by bike or tuk tuk, staff are helpful when requiring to book trips from dehli. Food is pleasant. Wifi excellent. Perfect for backpackers.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Poor hotel, very different from photographs - Do not recommend anyone staying. Hotel is very different from photograph. There is no hot shower and the bed is uncomfortable. Blanket is quite dirty and it gives u the itch.
- Marly (4/5): - I didn't like the service, the charge were more as it said in the internet page, no hot water really
- James (4/5): Relatively nice hotel for the price - Hotel double booked us on arrival so sent us to a neighbouring hotel. This one was not as nice and right on the street so very noisy. They then tried to charge us the full amount when checking out even though on checkin we had discussed a reduced rate due to the double booking.
- Bryce (8/5): Good hotel, but "no guests" policy is frustrating - Good rooms for the price. Best shower I've had in India, strong pressure and very hot water. Quiet lane off the main road. Close to train station.
There's no guests allowed, so if you fancy your hand at tinder then find a different hotel.
- Daniel (8/5): Fun & friendly - Anil is super friendly & always accommodating!
- Clifford (6/5): Amax Inn good and bad - Our first stay was very good and they arranged a tour of Rajasthan for us and another night there on our return. We arranged to stay another night after a short trip north before leaving for Nepal but when we got back at 1.30am (train was late) we were told they were full and would put us up in one of their other hotels nearby. It turned out to be substandard, very noisy, broken shower, etc and we had a sleepless night.
- JAy (8/5): Surprisingly a nice hotel - Surprising a very nice hotel. Very good staff and services. This hotel is a hidden gem, as the surroundings of this hotel say otherwise.
- michael (8/5): Good Budget Hotel With Excellent Service - I began my trip in India at Hotel Amax Inn. Airport pick-up for a reasonable fee was a definite benefit. Hotel staff were welcoming, helpful throughout my stay. The room was spotlessly clean and the service excellent. Definitely exceeded my expectations for a budget hotel.
- Rohit (6/5): Delhi stay - We booked 2 rooms 1 was very good and the other was really very bad switches were not working. But still every thing was fine.
- Seppo (4/5): Low point of Indian customer service - Indian hotels generally don't understand customer service, but this was the low point during my trip. I've booked a double room, so they ask how many of us are staying there. I explain that I'll sleep there alone and my two friends are flying off in the evening. After signing in, they say that visitors are not allowed in the hotel room. I explain that we slept in the train last night and my friends would just change their clothes and brush their teeth before their overnight flight. "Not possible". So I suggest they book another room. "No more rooms available". So I suggest they pay something for the possibility to brush their teeth in my room. "Guests are not allowed in the room". So I suggest they check in to my room, as I have a double room, but even that's not possible anymore. My friends have to wait in the lobby in dirty clothes. The room is clean, hot water is working in the morning and at other times when asked for. WiFi is not working. I booked a "luxury room" with A/C because it's cold. The room is cold and the A/C is not working. I'm being told that the A/C can be used only for cooling. The location is a relatively quiet street in Paharganj, which I didn't find that nice neighborhood.
- Lucy (8/5): Great location, helpful trustworthy staff - Very helpfull staff, clean rooms, 5 minute walk from station, nice rooftop and food to escape hectic area. good transfer service from the airport.
- Harish (8/5): Good room, awesome service & friendly owner. - It was a good stay. The room was good, clean & maintained. The room service was very proactive & served me delicious food. The hotel owner is a very friendly guy. overall a good stay and the hotel is worth the price. Cheers!
- rich -eylein (6/5): WATCH OUT FOR DOUBLE CHARGING YOU !!!!! - CAUTION- BE CAREFULL !!they will when you are checking out; charge you again for taxes you prepaid on your hotels.com booking also they tryed to collect for taxi booking that I had previously paid them!!!!!!!
- steve (8/5): comfy and safe - Not fancy but felt safe and have plans on staying there again before I leave India
- Jolene (6/5): Adequate, safe place to stay - Tucked into a side ally of a busy street, there is plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around Amax Inn. The staff was very friendly and eager to please, taking care of requests, arranging drivers, suggesting places to visit.
The rooms were adequate, with clean bathroom, tv with many channels, comfortable bed.
Rooms were only cleaned upon request, and towels and bedspreads were not as clean as they could have been. Without any top sheet, it seemed a little sketchy to have the bedspread as the only cover, as it was not a duvet, but just a fuzzy heavy blanket.
Noise traveled easily up the stairwell, especially at night, but closing the bathroom door helped somewhat.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Generally clean and pleasant - The location was not easy to find, we were lucky to meet a very helpful Indian man who led us there. The room was clean and comfortable but generally the area is very loud, sleep was difficult. The staff was helpful and pleasant.
- Jaya Srinivasan V (8/5): good stay. - Its a good stay. Surrounding area was a bit bad.
- J (2/5): Wrong room provided / Rude and aggressive manager - Upon arrival given the wrong room. Paid for a 'deluxe' and given a BASIC room that was dirty and turned out to be the **worst** room I had stayed in during my 4 weeks in India. As first time in India was not sure if we had in fact received a deluxe. After 3 days of seeing that vast majority of guest had better rooms I brought this to attention of desk manager. Manager was very aggressive and stated my fault?!?
Furthermore, booked a house boat via the hotel in Srinagar and despite getting a written receipt the boat we stayed on was not the New Sherin as we had paid for as upon arrival this boat was full?!?
All in all stay well clear of this hotel. The only positive thing is the friendliness of the porters etc. the management are aggressive and rude.
I have travelled all over the world and this is the worst 'hotel' I have EVER experienced and the worst service ever.
BEWARE!! I doubt they'll be in the next version of the Lonely Planet guide as they lack basic manners and know nothing about customer service.
Much better places to stay in Delhi.
Finally, during my stay I saw many arguments with guests who were OVERCHARGED in someway or another. Simply shocking!!
