Guest Reviews

- Boris (8/5): - Hotel Vendôme is an old-fashioned place, situated in the heart of the city, very close to the Tour railway station. My room was located separately from the others, it was big, clean, quiet and comfortable, but had no WiFi, and so, every time I needed to connect to the internet I had to go to the breakfast area. I felt sorry to bother the owners with this, particularly early in the morning, but I needed the latest weather forecast and train timetable info and so, I had no choice. But all in all, as I said, I'm quite happy with my stay in this hotel. Would recommend.
- Rommel (10/5): Tudo muito bom. - Local aconchegante.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel to be avoided. Hotel which obviously doesn't care about the customers but cares about money. The owner is more bothered about renovating outer buildings to create addititional rooms. Cold welcome and owner demanded for the holiday tax to be paid immediately on arrival in cash although I wanted to pay by card and I hadn't seen the room yet. I had to ask him 3 times for a receipt which he relunctantly gave me in the end. Bottom sheet was stained and again I had to insist for it to be changed. The mattress cover was also stained and covered with different colour hairs. Disgusting. No apology offered. Don' t bother paying more for the de luxe room like I did as nothing is de luxe in the room. Balcony gives onto the street so no view. The bathroom is tiny and had to sit sideway on toilet although I am petite. The tv is too high, right under the ceiling, the sound is set to a fixed volume and the signal is terrible so good luck if you want to watch a programme. I really felt unwelcome and the owner was not even there when I left to say goodbye. The only good thing is that it is near the town centre where you can have a cheaper breakfast.
- Kay (10/5): Greatly helpful! - Very friendly helpful owners: live on premises.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Tomasz (10/5): Very cute little hotel - Clean and comfortable. Staff very polite and speak English
- leonardo daniel (10/5): Gracias - Excelente ubicación y hermoso lugar.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Personnels accueillants.
- Eric (10/5): - Great location close to the train depot lots of stuff to see In Tours they’re awesome second time we stayed at this hotel
- nelly (10/5): - Hôtel calme et bien situé,lit douillet,personnel aimable
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Lynda (6/5): - It was very easy to access the train station, and just around the corner were pastry shops, a BK, a laundromat, and bank machines. However, being seniors, we found it too demanding to have to climb 2 flights of rickety stairs several times a day, let alone lug heavy suitcases up and down. Also, internet reception at night was hit and miss.
- Monte H (10/5): - This is our 2nd stay at Hotel Vendome. We live this place! Friendly service, lovely breakfasts, wonderful rooms and excellent location. Merci!
- James (6/5): Small hotel close to centre, reasonably priced - We received a friendly greeting. The rooms were comfortable and quiet - with the windows closed, traffic noise outside was effectively blocked. The shower room was clean and well-equipped, except that only one bath towel was provided in a double room.
We didn't opt for breakfast, so can't comment on that.
- marie (2/5): Terrible Hotel - This was a terrible hotel and uncaring hotel staff and or owner. Outside of our room was old and it looked like construction had started but never finished. Dangerous staircase rail. So flimsy you could break your neck. Inside the room was just as terrible. Broken furniture, filthy wall, doors, carpet, and shower curtain. The blankets we very old and looked dirty. The offer no amenities or do the change your towels despite putting them on the floor. When I expressed my dissatisfaction about the room the women said nothing. She acted surprised. I'm asking for my money back. This place was horrible. Oh yeah no on warned us about the construction going on. We had no quiet time to rest. Take my advice go elsewhere. See pictures.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - South of the main town centre but within easy walking distance in a quiet residential area. Restaurants, cafes, and shops just a block or two away. No elevator and a couple steps at the front door.
- andrew (4/5): Feels like boarding school - This is not a hotel , its really a B an B , on arrival we were briskly informed that no food was allowed in the room , however we were assisted with use of dining room fridge.
This hotel put a hold on amount charged 3 weeks before our stay ,Owner appeared very concerned about covering all of his costs and his bottom line before welcoming and assuming good conduct from quests , found him to be condescending and unhelpful.
I would not recommend this place. I felt like a 14 year old sneaking in to my parents house after curfew. Very unrelaxing.
- Loran (10/5): Great hotel with friendly staff - We stayed in a beautiful room which had air con and was very clean. The room was spacious but the bathroom was cramped. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were asked on arrival not to eat in the room but this wasn't an issue as there was a common eating space and a beautiful park down the road. The location was very central to everything we wanted.
- Gonzalo (8/5): Don't be afraid of the one star rating - Incredible bargain for a one star hotel. It is a family house fully rejuvenated; large bedrooms, comfortable bathroom and all for a ridiculous price
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel was cheap and the bed was comfortable, however the hotel seems to be crumbling and in our room it smelt damp and the wall paper was coming off, plus the shower had to be held, which as a pregnabt lady wasn't so easy. Overall fine for one night if you're on a budget, but I wouldn't stay any longer
- Verified traveler (8/5): Home like hotel - It's more like home stay, you are not allowed to eat in your room. I was given a room at the backyard, no stairs to climb, a blessing... Bed was very comfortable and so was the armchair. Bathroom below average I would say.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Vampire retreat - Amazing decoration. Themed room. Nice and well equipped bathroom. Room was bigger than expected. Welcoming host.
Interesting Stairs.
- Katriina (8/5): Authentic and lovely three storey French terrace - Rooms are advertised with air conditioning but the one we were given did not have it. We asked for this to be reviewed and by the time we came back to the hotel after dinner our belongings had been relocated to a room with air conditioning. This was a very swift and satisfying outcome. We enjoyed staying in a hotel which was more like a B&B, living in the type of home many French do.Help accessible from hosts if needed. We found it a good location. No complaints!
- HTroy (10/5): Wonderful B&B! - This is a great hotel in the center of Tours. The owners are very nice (after they warm up to you) and are very helpful. The organic breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Room was clean and very characteristic of France (antique furniture and decor). Had a balcony that looked out on the street. The walk to old Tours is about 10 min. They provide parking (for a fee) in a garage a short walk away from the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel!
- Mei Hung (8/5): Nice stay for 2 nights - Very close to train station and supermarket. Clean room with very fine detail. Not allow eating at room but dining room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Great stay; elegant hostess, comfortable room, great breakfasts, close to transportation.
