• Silvia (1/5): Don’t leave your luggage in the storage room (missing handbag and Sunglasses) - Great facility and great location Unfortunately, I had a handbag and a pair of sunglasses stolen from my bags. After checking out, I left my two locked suitcases in the designated storage room, trusting that they would be safe while I waited for my flight. Everything was completely in order when I packed. It wasn't until I arrived home that I realized someone at the hotel had gone through my personal belongings during the five hours they were left in the storage room. I trusted the hotel's security, only to find these valuable items missing from my bag.
• Johnmer (10/5): Perfect Location, clean, and great place to meet people! - Finding Hat Madrid was very easy! It’s very close to Sol Station and Plaza Mayor. The facilities were good! they have a common area, a dining area downstairs, and everything was clean. The beds were also comfortable, and I liked that each bed had curtains for privacy. I also availed the breakfast option and it was definitely worth it. There’s also a Carrefour just right across the hostel, which was very convenient. One more thing I loved was the rooftop! They also offer free walking tours every morning starting 10am, which made the stay even more worth it. I met a lot of fellow solo travelers, and it was really fun talking and hanging out with them. I would definitely stay at this hostel again on my next trip to Madrid. None

• Scott (8/5): Nice hostal, avoid the rooftop lounge - Very near Plaza Major, awesome breakfast, real cotton sheets and pillowcases, organized activities for guests. Nice rooftop lounge on the 5th floor, but they let people in who are not staying at the hostal, so there is a constant stream of street people in and out of the hostal. Big security issue. Sometimes, guests staying at the hostal are not allowed in the rooftop deck, as it has been rented out.

Por otra parte la ubicación muy buena, me sentí siempre cómoda. Finalmente la habitacion compartida de mujeres estuvo bien, con espacio para las maletas cortinas y amplia. Por decir algo, quizás el desayuno muy simple.
• Amiko127 (10/5): - Ich bin absolut begeistert von meinem Aufenthalt im „The Hat Madrid“. Im Vergleich zu anderen Erfahrungen war das hier ein echtes Highlight. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. ​Die Lage ist einfach perfekt, mitten im Zentrum, sodass man alles bequem zu Fuß erreichen kann. Besonders gut hat mir die Privatsphäre in den Zimmern gefallen: Die Schlafkabinen haben Vorhänge, was in einem Hostel einen riesigen Unterschied macht! Auch die Toiletten und Bäder waren angenehm groß und sauber. Das Frühstück war absolut okay und ein guter Start in den Tag. Ich komme definitiv wieder! ​Extra-Service: Ich konnte mein Gepäck nach dem Check-out bis zu meinem Flug kostenlos dort lassen. Das ist bei anderen Hostels oft nicht möglich und war eine riesige Hilfe! ​Ein kleiner Nachteil: Wenn nachts jemand duscht, wird es im Zimmer leider sehr laut. Wer einen leichten Schlaf hat, sollte also vielleicht Ohropax einpacken. ​Trotzdem war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top und ich komme definitiv wieder!

• zoe (9/5): Wonderful 5 night stay at the Hat!! 10/10 Recommend to anyone solo travelling :) - Great brekkie buffet, bed was SUPER comfortable and I loved how secure I felt with the curtain and not having to worry about falling out of the bed ahaha, the cave (i.e. dining area) was super comfy and felt like home, and I loved the social atmosphere of the hostel -- everyone in my dorm got along well and we became friends quickly! That seemed to be the culture at this hostel, which was great. The housekeeping staff were phenomenal and work so hard, they deserve a huge shoutout for their commitment. I saw the same staff everyday and I really respect the amount of effort they put into keeping the Hat very tidy and spotless. I also really liked how I could drop my luggage off early before check in and the system they had set up (they give you a number and lock your bag in a storage room to make sure you don't take any one else's belongings, super secure). The rooftop was so packed and had long wait times! I wish I planned to see it earlier as I missed out. Also thought there would be more than one washing machine/dryer. And I couldn't find a sink for the downstairs bathroom but maybe I didn't look hard enough? The pub crawl was great but it was so chaotic trying to keep up with the group and we would lose people at times.

De as funcionárias da limpeza entrarem no quarto - verem que estava a dormir (e minha colega de quarto avisou) e elas fizeram limpezas como se eu não existisse ali... barulho... spray com cheiro intenso. Não gostei. Outra coisa mal é o barulho imenso que se ouve. E por fim,as cortinas da cama deviam ir de uma ponta à outra, não permitindo a entrada de luz.

• Ana Flávia (9/5): Mi estancia fue muy buena en general; a pesar de algunos pequeños inconvenientes, volvería a alojarme allí y lo recomien - La atención del personal es muy amable, la ubicación es excelente, hay ascensor y todo está muy limpio. Además, el ambiente es ideal para conocer gente nueva, con actividades como el pub crawl y la clase de sangría que hacen la experiencia aún más divertida. El desayuno es algo limitado y tanto el espacio donde se sirve como la zona para sentarse resultan un poco incómodos. Me tocó la cama de arriba y los escalones para subir son bastante altos, además de no contar con un buen punto de apoyo, lo que dificulta el acceso. También viajaba con una maleta pesada y resultaba incómodo tener que levantarla constantemente para guardarla en el armario superior cada vez que necesitaba algo. Al estar en la litera superior, eché en falta una pequeña superficie donde poder apoyar mis cosas; tenía que organizarme en el suelo, lo cual no era nada práctico. Por último, en el baño tampoco hay un buen espacio para dejar la ropa mientras uno se ducha, lo que hace la experiencia menos cómoda.

• Hilal (9/5): %100 recommended!! - It was one of the best hostels I've ever been. It was VERY CLEAN and fun! I enjoyed the pub crawl and sangria workshop, %100 recommended. Its location was the best, just a few minutes to Plaza Mayor. If I come back to Madrid, this is the one I'll stay again for sure!! Rooftop bar was smaller than I expected but it's still nice. Our room window opened onto the ventilation shaft instead of the outside but didn't really bother. It'd have been better if we had a nice view tho. The rooftop bar overlooked the same ventilation shaft, which made it kind of noisy. It wasn't a big deal as they shut down at midnight.
