Guest Reviews
- Christian Telling (9/5): For the price you get a LOT. - Room nicely decorated and arranged. Bathroom spacious. Breakfast good. Staff very friendly. Restaurand and bar very good. Very good "value-for-money"! Neighborhood at the front is a little noisy/crowded.
- Henry (8/5): great! - breakfast was great! nothing
- Nick (9/5): Very good value for money - It is central, close to bus terminus’s so you can arrive by bus and walk to the hotel! A bit noisy early evening but gets quieter later on
- James (7/5): Improve on above areas - Work on your toilets and hot shower. The toilets could fall apart and the hot water was not available. Also there were lots of cockroach in the room Hot water
No pests
Newer or intact toilet seats

- Ervie (9/5): Marble Arch Hotel has very friendly professional staff whom tend to get know you by your name. The rooms are very comfor - On site restaurant, bar, dry cleaning, security, taxis including airport pickup and cleanliness They don’t have more local cuisines on their menus
- Arijit (6/5): - The area looks a bit shady, the hotel doesn’t have lift which is a major problem.

- Ervie (10/5): - Overall great location located in the heart of CBD, numerous restaurants and street vendors around to purchase anything from food to clothing . Virtually walking distances to everything you can imagine. I consider this a good strategic location because it puts me within 15-20 of some of Nairobi most popular estates and malls. Friendly and professional staff with a nice restaurant and bar available inside.
- Felix (10/5): Exceptional -
- Psfinaki (8/5): The connection with the original Marble Arch is unclear - I booked this last-minute just before midnight, but everything worked out and I was accommodated without problems. The personnel was very nice, they let me pay in the morning and borrowed me a charger since I lost mine. The breakfast was nice. The place around the hotel seemed a bit dodgy. The bank terminal they had didn't accept NFC payments and I didn't have physical cards so I had to go get some cash in an ATM in the morning - that said, the hotel provided me a supervisor to accompany me to the bank.
- Amungo (7/5): Good -
- arifad2019 (10/5): Marble Arc Hotel - Located at the heart of town and within easy reach for most restaurants and places to visit. The place has a warm ambience and friendly staff.
The hotel was voted the best in 2016 by trip advisor. I will definitely stay again once in Nairobi, Kenya
- Tammy (8/5): - The only thing I didn’t like about this location was that it didn’t have a lift. Other than that, this place was comfortable and in a convenient location. If I had been traveling solo, I wouldn’t have felt so comfy but my partner is Kenyan and that eased me greatly. Lovely rooms, nice staff. They have a lounge here but we didn’t get to go. Maybe next time!
- Maina (1/5): Unterbrochen. - Friendly workers, very helpful people The hotel bedding smells like reused one, the toilet was defect, bathroom window was defect too. Toilet brush very dirty , the toilet was used and dirty too.
- G (7/5): Good -
- Puke (6/5): Bring back the glory of the former days - The bed was comfortably ok. The rooms are dated, but are clean. Nice warm water after a long flight. The price is a little on the higher side for comparable hotels. The problem is that once businesses taste the money, they keep the prices high even though they know that the property standards have gone down. Marble Arch is not what it used to be. A revamp is clearly needed.
- Ravi (4/5): Disappointing -
- A.g.e. (7/5): Terrible crowded neighborhood. Dangerous to leave on foot after dark. - Not much The neighborhood
- Richard (8/5): - Older building but great staff.
- Gibbard (9/5): lovely welcome and very helpful in all ways. Great stay! - Room decor, cleanliness and hotel location No lift but not a problem
Also no T bags and use of Brazilian coffee in Kenya
- Kyrre (7/5): Good -
- richj65 (8/5): Wonderful experience - The building is older but well maintained. All of the staff provide excellent service going above expectation. The Wifi is strong, and the breakfast is enjoyable. The room was dated, and there was no elevator or in room safe. Your valuables can be stored downstairs in a lockbox. Also, the noise from outside lasts well within the night. I had a wonderful time here.
- Abhishek (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - They were quick to respond We didn't dislike anything
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Konfino (10/5): - The place is looking safe,at no time during my stay was I worried of my safety,
- Hassan (7/5): Pleasant staff, decent setup and nice beds. Great value for money. - The close proximity to necessary places.
Food stores, night clubs etc The noise from outside most especially during the day time but Of course it’s quite during the nights
- Mercyma (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samuel (8/5): Nice spending in your facility - N/a Noise from the vehicles , consider sound proof
- Moses (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matukamango (8/5): Ok - Good Wi-fi poor connection
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (3/5): Poor -
- Celian (8/5): Very good - Overall excellent service. Staff are kind and helpful No lift, using stairs is a hindrance when accessing rooms.
- Edward (7/5): Great staff but the place is falling apart. Plus, they gave away the room I booked even though I paid in advance - Very accommodating staff. They were very helpful and polite. They brought me room service at 1 in the morning! Not sure the kitchen was actually even open at that hour. I booked a suite (looking forward to a special night) and apparently they gave it away to someone else. However, I had already paid. Instead of giving me a refund they tried to give me free breakfast and dinner in exchange. Many parts of the room were in disrepair (half of the lights didn’t work, shower was broken) and there was no hot water
- Partner (7/5): Partner Tech Review - The staff The Internet pls get a better internet facility
- Al (2/5): - It is an old property, need to be demolished.
- Christine (10/5): - Couldn’t be any happier, the receptionist was out of her way to contact Uber for us , helpful staffs, she or either the security guy walked us to near by store to find anything you need for safety, they even cook ginger water for me when I had stomach problem from Diani beach
- Young (8/5): Very good - Very calm and kind
- Christine (10/5): - The receptionist was amazing, she even call uber for us when we have trouble connecting, staff was helpful and helping with my luggages as well , highly recommended this hotel
- Vishal (1/5): I will never stay at this hotel or around it n would not recommend it to anyone - Nothing It’s very old, no lift, wifi extremely unstable n slow. The location, though in the CBD, isn’t good. There is street noise all through out the day and night. There are horns blaring all day. It gets better at night but still very noisy. Even Uber drivers advised against this locality. Staff is helpful.
- Ajang (8/5): - It was good stay
- Sarah (8/5): Great - I loved the room service and réception It had cold shower
- Barun (7/5): In side of the hotel is good and staff are very supportive and helpful - The location of the property is not all expected..
- Muthui (8/5): Very good - The facility was very clean,, fresh air very very comfortable.
The warm welcome at the reception and service... Nothing,,, I loved it there.
- Muthui (8/5): Very good -
- Morris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jimmy (9/5): Generally met my expectation - Good Was good
- R354WSsabinem (8/5): Safe, comfortable and affordable hotel in downtown Nairobi - As a family we have stayed at Marble Arch Hotel many times over the past 10 years. It's location is very convenient, most offices in the city can be reached on foot. We also stay at Marble Arch when we fly in and out of the country.
They offer affordable rates, it's very good value for money. The staff has always been friendly, supportive and flexible. They make us comfortable.
They offer a variety of tasty Kenyan food that they may even prepare at odd hours when we arrive from an international flight.
To us Marble Arch Hotel is a hotel of choice that we can recommend. It is a safe and comfortable place in downtown Nairobi.
- intrepid2f1 (4/5): Hotel from Hell - We stay at the Marble Arch Hotel 2 or 3 times a year for 8 years and always on our wedding anniversary. Each time it has been chaos. Guests denied use of facilities due to over booking conferences by the management
This year was the same, such a disappointment. Cockroaches in our room, a leaking toilet, cold food and appalling service. Despite talking to the management, nothing is done to resolve the issues ( I'm a former hotelier). Imagine having to wait an hour and 15 minutes for your evening meal after ordering. It was an utter disgraceful and disappointing stay. We have resolved never to stay there ever again!
- Oluoch (10/5): The hotel was worth the money I paid . - There was completely no mosquitoes. I also liked the coffee making facilities in the room There is need to improve on hot water for shower . The water should be warm especially in the evening
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable -
- James (10/5): - Good hotel
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Ntarangwi (9/5): Superb -
- Jemimah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Asava (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ajang (9/5): great staff and great services especially the receptionist lady Eva. - very polite staffs especially receptionist friendly and great room service. The hot water heater or service was very average.
water not enough.
- Hanna_JanLeon (10/5): Magnificent Experience - Message of Appreciation - Dear Marble Arch Hotel Staff,
Hanna & Jan would like to thank you for all the enjoyable stays we had in your hotel over the last 8 months. Your super friendly and hugely helpful staff has made our stays more than excellent. Amongst them but not limited to: manager Immaculate Kamau, the reception team Eva, Feddie and Sam, waiter Alex, room service Charles Mwangi and many others. Every time our taste buds were spoiled with tasteful dishes prepared by chef Charles Mbugua and frequently we enjoyed the lunch buffet. But the cherry on the cake was the hotel awarding us the suite room following our wedding. We have been appreciating it a lot keeping memorable thoughts forever. Thanks so much for your highly professional service! Hope to visit your hotel soon again.
Hanna & Jan
- Nicole (10/5): - The staff were amazing, so helpful and informative!
- 5darrenr (10/5): Nice stay - We have stayed at Marble Arch a few times and they have always been very lovely to us. It's a nice hotel. Very comfortable. The meals are lovely and very nice. Breakfast also is very nice. I would recommend this place. Good bless.
- moses (4/5): The sweet old Marble Arch Hotel is no more! - For the last several years- 8 to be exact- Marble Arch Hotel is the place I always went to when dropping in from the US and even during local stays while in Nairobi. Everything then was perfect. Not anymore. Something seemed to have gone wrong somewhere. Marble Arch is now crumbling.
First, I was checked into a room with a leaking toilet. No apologies. Worst of it, I got no concession when I was switched into a new room the following day.Second, some of my stuff went missing from one of my bags. I will be honest and say that I am not absolutely certain whether that happened at the hotel or at the airport. However, we could have easily established that fact if security cared to run through their CCTV tape. They didn't. Or, if they did they have never reached out to me two weeks down. Awful, awful experience. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone whatsoever. And for me, I am done with it.
- mkocansey (8/5): Get a room with a balcony but it can get quite noisy - The standard room I got had a balcony that provided a view that overlooked a busy street. I liked the view and the noise of busyness. If you’re a light sleeper you should request for rooms on the opposite side of the hotel. Rooms are clean but not too big.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the Marble structural Components of Marble Arch Hotel, the rooms and the general layout.
I do not like the street congestion and noise around the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Amazing staff at reception and room cleaning lady were truly great. However, area is a little too hectic with buses and hard to find.
- TB10er (8/5): Good value - A good stay, with very helpful and smiling staff.
The hotel is of a 3 star western standard, but has all of the amenities you require.
The location is hectic and noisy at times. If arriving late at night, ensure that you use a driver to get you there.
- Harrison (8/5): Wonderful - We were in Nairobi for a night and this hotel was really nice. Their staff are friendly and helpful at all times. It’s just alito in a noisy area, but overall it’s wonderful. I’ve already booked it for my next stay in nairobi
- Beatrice (6/5): Nice hotel but terrible surrounding - The matatus and noise!!! But probably ok for the price
- susanhZ7777DX (6/5): Reasonably priced - My 2 night stay at the hotel was accommodating clean and good facilities, but it was extremely noisy at night until 4 am in the morning and milk should be supplied in the rooms. also shower head was not fixed properly
- MwashBonnie (8/5): Nice Hotel, Great hospitality but Noisy Environment - Other than it being at a Noisy environment. The Hotel is great and the services from receptionists, Waitress, Waiters, The manager..... they are Respectful, friendly and dedicated. Clean and well maintained rooms.
- jacknorrisk (8/5): Improved water heating system and WIFI - I normally find this hotel very convenient and affordable especially when visiting business partners in the CBD.I was there last month and i noticed that the hot water in the room was running smoothly. The internet too has improved with good speed. The traditional breakfast was wau......I would definitely come back.I hope next time time i visit the elevator will be in place as promised.
- omololuwab (2/5): No elevator,no refrigerator, noisy environment - The hotel is a hotel with 6floors no elevators, no refrigerator, bad bed, dusty window curtains and noisy environment. Not safe looks like where hoodlums would hang out. We had to check out that night couldn't sleep terrified .
- jacknorrisk (8/5): staff hospitality and amenities - It was wonderful staying at this hotel with my girlfriend.Good hospitality especially from Rodgers a waiter. The rooms and other amenities were ok for a three star.Very convinient to walk around the capital city.we will definitely come back
- Msafiri2016 (8/5): Best in its class - If you ever find yourself in need of an affordable, accessible and convenient layover in the city centre, go to the Marble Arch. Rooms are spacious and clean. the ambiance is good and staff very friendly. Did not love the food too much but there are alternatives nearby. Free wifi and the staff will arrange for a taxi on request. If you wish to have a quiet stay ask for a room at the back away from the noisy commuter vans picking passengers outside the hotel.
- I8557AKfranks (10/5): Excellent Hospitality and Ambience - I visited Marble Arch Hotel last week of July 2017 and 1st Week of August 2017, we had a wonderful time, quiet place to reflect and enjoyed various traditional African delicacies and fresh fruits. We cannot emphasise enough that their Mango, and Passion juice is best we have drunk - very authentic. I enjoyed the many things but just sample some of Visit always ask whether Breakfast or day time or Dinner ask for Mixed Tea which comes with a hot pot, it is very good, mouth -watering and quench thirst fully..I drank so many cups, the have authentic Kenyan Tea. The Accomodation was great especially the big double bed very good and offer great comfort. We rest well every night after busy outing. Each room has wonderful LCD TV I was to catch with local and international news. Lastly, the Reception team they are handy to assist you day or night by calling 0 from you room or visiting the Reception directly. The Manager's are available all throughout if anything is not alright or even quick chat to or catch about City / Country whilst on visit. During our stay the Operations Manager who is also Assistant Hotel Manager Jack Norris made our stay greater, he is very humble, respectful , knowledgeable, excellent interpersonal skills and gives timely feed back on any issues you
may have or want to know. The hotel is based in Nairobi City therefore no need of Tax Cab hire unless somewhere is going out City centre. What makes good even is that the Hotel has Nissan shuttle that can pick someone from the Airport and back to Airport. We will come back next year and many more times. We recommend this Hotel.
