Guest Reviews
- Malia (8/5): - Love this place
- Selina (8/5): - Perfect place to stay, away from the busy town. Very quiet. Very clean & tidy.
- Oketi (8/5): - Clean Room and loved the outdoor shower. Need better curtains that are thicker and not seen through. Need more parking for the guests. We had to park out on the streets one night because the car park was full and was very concerned about the safety of the rental vehicle we hired.
- Alannah (10/5): - Highly recommend to all. Beautiful authentic spaces. Lovely staff, food, atmosphere! no faults!
- Teresa (10/5): - Staff were so lovely, rooms were amazing
- Nila (6/5): - I booked through Expedia and had everything confirmed. However, when I checked in at Manumea, I was asked to pay a $200 TALA bond. This was never mentioned during my booking, and the staff told me it was Expedia’s issue, saying they had already informed them about it.
This is something important for people to be aware of when booking through third parties. The lady who served us explained that because we booked with a third party, we would not be informed of this policy (and that previous guests had experienced the same issue).
I believe there should be better communication and updates between Manumea and Expedia regarding this information.
- Dr Iliafi (10/5): - Nice clean room & quiet area
- Marie (10/5): - Staff were friendly and had the honir of meeting the owner Ms Aruna ..
Everyone were friendly and the place was well decorated with beautiful tiare flowers and other native plants.
- Dominick (10/5): - Wow it was awesome we will be back there again this time im bringing my whole family, taff the manager was so good to us the place is beautiful, fiafia night was epic 👌 loved every moment there, so clean and peaceful, thank you manumea we will see yous again.
- Lotolotoi (10/5): - Best Fia Fia Night. The staff here treat you like family. Amazing care taken.
- Sinne (10/5): - It is convenient, staff are helpful and accommodating. I like where it is situated, it was safe.
- Lili (6/5): - I had a great stay with my family , we booked twice for the good price , first time we book, they offer us the right amount of beds for a family of 4, but second time I book, we sleep super tight , offering us 2 towels , and overall I think they located us in the wrong room, but it was fully booked
- Sose (10/5): - Staff very friendly
and helpful
- Leane (10/5): - Exactly as I remembered it.
- Malia (8/5): - Awesome stay. Staff are always very helpful.
- Keith (8/5): - Le Manumea was a great place to stay rooms were clean and well presented, the staff and owners were fantastic. We had a great time here and the Fia Fia show was a highlight.
The location is quite away from town so either recommend a hire car or use the local taxis to get to where you need to go.
I would certainly recommend this as a place to stay in Apia
- Frania (10/5): - Beautiful pool and gardens, loved the room. Fiafia night was amazing
- Charles (10/5): - It was nice and roomy. Far enough from the town busyness but close enough to town. Staff were the highlight of the stay. Service and entertainment, staff were amazing. Thank you
- Samantha (10/5): - Property is well managed & maintained, staff are responsive & helpful
- Malia (8/5): - Awesome stay! Staff were awesome! The property is very welcoming and the rooms are amazing.
- Nicholas (10/5): - It's always great to stay at Le manumea. This was my 4th or 5th time staying there.
- Shona (8/5): - Only rated a four star due to waiting an hour for food to be cooked and brought to our. Sometimes we odered lamb but they bought chicken and there were multiple things that were out of order but were not removed from the menu. h
- simon (10/5): - Good experience
- Edwina (8/5): - Enjoyed the stay as always
- Selesa (8/5): - Loved this hotel just a couple days without hot water but hot enough to deal with cold showers. Overall really enjoyed our stay, staff were amazing, helpful and friendly.
- Fuamai (10/5): - We stayed with the Manumea in Vailima for the first half of our trip, and everything was as promised on the website.
Their grounds and facilities are beautiful, their indoor/outdoor bathrooms are unique with their clear roof as stated on their website “rain showers under the stars or under the sun”.
our family were in time for Grill night on Wednesdays, cultural Fiafia night on Thursdays, and they also had DJ disco party on Fridays.
it was so nice to return from our busy day to find the rooms refreshed each day, and we appreciated the complementary bottles of water in our fridges on arrival. Tropical breakfast was beautiful as well, and my granddaughter loved the pool, the Aircon and the TV, and the resident cat that became her good friend.
They do have an airport shuttle service, but you need to give them enough notice. We cab from the airport and it was SAT$120, which would probably be about AU$75.
Finally, the thing that I am most grateful for, is that our flight arrived at 1:10am, I spoke to them thel morning before flying out and they assured me that someone would be waiting. We arrived at the property around 3 AM and someone was at reception to greet us and let us into our rooms. We are so grateful for their service and their attention to their guests.
We highly recommend this hotel to families and anybody looking for accommodation in Samoa.
- Sheree (8/5): - The staff were so helpful and friendly
- Paula (6/5): - Service from staffs were poor, upon checkin
- simon (10/5): - The room is awesome , food is nice and Ive come at a quiet time so it’s peaceful. Love the cleanliness and the outside shower and toilet.
- andrew james (10/5): - Staff where excellent rooms where always clean and serviced
- Tiare (10/5): - Great, friendly staff and island night show. Fabulous hosts, gorgeous gardens and a breezy outdoor bar/cocktail area for dining and drinks. Manaia!!
- Iefata (8/5): - Nice and quiet
- Atonio (10/5): - Awesome stuff, awesome rooms. Loved the outside private toilet and shower. The Fia Fia night was so cool I really enjoyed that. 10/10
- Fiao (6/5): - It was annoying as paid guest having to park on the road or further down the road when there were private functions held at the resort. You have the locals attend a private function and park in the guest car park. Also no communication about room service & kitchen being closed early for private functions. Some form of communication to guest would be ideal rather than calling in. Other than that, it’s a ok place to stay at. Have stayed here a few times and you get what your money is worth in a way.
- Merina (10/5): - .
- Vicki (10/5): - Feb2025. A very hot month. Hotel location is up the side of Mt Vaea, which attracts cool breeze air and water. The pool is in need of repairs but still lovely to cool off in. Staff are friendly, the villas are generous in size, out-door bathroom and shower, is a fabulous feature, gardens well-groomed, villas are private and clean, sensor solar lights columns along pathways, secure gated carparking, and the food is good honest fare, something for everyone. Luna the owner is so delightfully sweet, and so are her friends. Their combined knowledge and contacts were extremely helpful to me. Le Manumae Hotel is a place I will return to. Hotel shuttle $20swt, Taxi $80swt.

- Merina (10/5): - Enjoyed another stay at Le Manumea, from 2 night to a week extended. Great staff love the privacy and great communication with the staff!
- Ruby (8/5): - Will definitely be visiting again
- Merina (10/5): - Had the best stay! The team was super generous and very welcoming. Owner was so lovely and welcoming. Super child friendly and service was exceptional. Catered to our needs. Definitely recommend staying here! Amazing!!
- Maria (10/5): - 2nd visit to Lemanumea. We love the clean and spacious rooms? Esp the outdoor bathroom! Super safe property, easy parking, helpful and friendly staff. The only feedback I could give would be lighting at night time to/from rooms can be quite difficult. We had to use our mobile phones as I have 2 young kids. Other than that, highly recommend this hotel! Best in Apia!!!
- Alefa (6/5): - Liked Room very clean and tidy.
- Lydia (6/5): - The aircon couldn’t be turned off by remote only by the wall plug. One of the lights had been flickering every time it was turned on. The microwave was just popping from the second it’s turned on. Sunday afternoon, a lady (staff) had just walked into the room using copy of key, asking if we need room service without knocking just entered herself. I had reported the facility issues to the reception however it would have been appreciated to be moved to a different room but we were kept in the same room - Room 109
- Teresa (10/5): - I enjoyed the rooms clean linen every day and nice showers.
I was concerned about dogs hanging out outside our room. Pool was ok.
- Mandy (6/5): - Rooms were super clean and lovely. Due to holiday staff may have been away on holiday as i attempted to ring reception a few times, no answer. Fiafia night was worth what you paid.
One of the owners/ staff was very rude and a bit dismissive when checking in and on the fiafia night, the same lady, we were forced to share a table with another family who also booked, this person managed the situation very poorly, for both family families. Work on opportunity. However the owner was very welcoming and pilot.
- Nive Maria (8/5): - Very private, quiet. Beautiful showers. Beautiful plants but require maintenance to the gardens. It would nice to have lemon grass pot plants to help keep the mosquitoes away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Some positives and some negatives - Quite a few things didnt go right. I had asked for a taxi to be arranged upon my arrival and i was completely ghosted by the staff before arrival. Had to book my own taxi late at night after arrival with a cranky child and zero communication from the hotel.
Bathroom being outside is very weird. Not my cup of tea and had i known the bathroom was outdoors, i would have reconsidered my stay.
Lastly, there is no wifi in your room and the one in the lobby doesnt work. Should have read about this before.
However there are positives as well.. staff is very friendly when at the property. Their culture show though a bit expensive is a lot of fun.
- Andrew Alipa (10/5): - From the moment we arrived we were treated as VIP especially with my elderly mum.
The rooms were very spacious & clean.
The outside shower was awesome & had hot water.
The small kitchen was excellent & had a microwave & fridge.
The staff were excellent especially Mau who makes a mean strawberry daiquiri 🔥
The restaurant was great also with their meals & was well priced.
Fa’afetai lava Luna & your amazing staff, meitaki maata 💙🇼🇸🏝️
- Emily (10/5): - The owner's outstanding hospitality and accommodating demeanor set the tone for a fantastic stay. The hotel's entertainment lineup is impressive, featuring an excellent Fiafia night every Thursday and DJ sets every Friday. Add in the safe car parking and affordable rates, room is big & very clean, water is safe to drink and it's clear why this hotel comes highly recommended. Special thanks to Luna for her warm and welcoming approach. Look forward to return again in the next year. Thanks Luna! C & E J
- Sophie (6/5): - Unfortunately Its a bit of a mixed review from me. We stayed 3 nights, on arrival sunday the restaurant was closed, so were most eateries around.
The second day they were setting up for a private event which we didn't know about when booking, people putting up marquees, floral arrangements etc which meant it was a bit awkward to use the pool as you had to walk through the event marquee or the restaurant as there was stuff everywhere and people were busy. The event went from 6pm onwards so the restaurant was unavailable again that evening. There was super load party music playing into the evening not great if you were there to relax.
The next day (our last day) the event was packing down, and we managed to get in the pool, which was nice although a bit worn.I wanted to order some snacks from the all day menu at around 2pm and was told that the chef was resting and it wouldn't be open til 5pm....When we did eventually have dinner there the burgers were good and we sat on the rooftop which as lovely. When we ordered breakfast the morning of leaving the bacon and eggs on toast , they forgot the bacon and the pancakes and fruit there was no fruit.
The property is nice and clean (love the open shower) but the service was poor considering there was hardly anyone staying at the resort, it was hard to get help from anyone.
- Ty (4/5): - Owner is very uninviting, screamed at our kids for jumping into the pool, cursing and carrying on in Samoan not realising my wife was out of site and speaks Samoan.
Room was clean but missing towels on checking in, missing a full panel curtain which leaves light beaming in and privacy lost.
Could be one of the best in Samoa if the care was taken to make guests feel valued
- Carrie (10/5): - Beautiful property. Outdoor shower/restroom was neat. Needs WiFi.
- Carrie (10/5): - The food at the restaurant is pretty limited. I love the grounds and the outdoor shower. Not having WiFi is an issue
- Rajal (10/5): - Great unit with spacious layout & wonderful outdoor bathroom - had everything we needed including air conditioning. Lovely staff. Would book again.
- Chico (10/5): - Good customer service and everything just perfect
- Heather (10/5): Loved La Manumea! - Simple clean accommodation, lovely open air bathroom. Staff amazing, food yum. ❤️
- Avon (10/5): - Parking can be an issue.
- Charlyn (10/5): - We had the best 7days stay. Our family booked out most of the accommodation felt like home. No matter how early or late the staff were very friendly and welcomed us with warmth. They too became family. The rooms were perfect for us. The pool could do with a bit of upgrade but that did not stop us from having a great swim and cool down. The food was our fav especially the fried chicken and chips. My kids absolutely loved it. Reasonably priced menu, we loved that too. My son who is Autistic can be picky with food and surroundings, but had no issues. No meltdowns, felt safe and confident walking around the facility like he was home. That was a big accomplishment. Thankyou to all staff of Le Manumea for making our stay fun and comfortable. We can't wait to return and will definitely recommend
- Amanda (10/5): - The staff were simply amazing. Loved the indoor/outdoor shower in our bathroom (rock walls with iron grilled roof)...having a shower in the rain!
My only suggestion would be to fix the broken tiles in an around the swimming pool .
- Rachel Anne (8/5): - Lovely clean, large rooms in a beautiful setting. Pool needs some TLC and there isn’t much around but taxis in to the town are only 10 tala.
- Innocent Pipiri Kelly Shannon Louise Kaa (10/5): - Really excellent place , won’t highly recommend! I’ve booked 2 times
- Dee (2/5): - The cleaners were very hospitable. However,I was very disappointed after booking and then a week later changing a couple of days well before the travel dates, yet I was charged fully despite early booking and changes. The water provided in fridge was only for the first day, no milk no condiments, one soap.
- Stephen (10/5): - Really enjoyed the atmosphere at Le Manumea. Staff were accommodating.
- Alexandra (8/5): - This property has beautiful, spacious rooms and gorgeous outdoor showers. It is lovely and we would definitely return to stay here.
- Charlene (10/5): - I cannot fault my stay here. The service was excellent. It has a real vibe. The staff were so helpful and friendly and Luna was extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend this resort to everyone. The additional entertainment options like the fiafia night were the icing in the cake. I will definitely be back.
- Karin (10/5): - This place is really very nice. I recommend staying there while being in or around Apia
- Kathryn (10/5): - Luna, the owner of Le Manumea, is incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. Her kindness and attention to detail were evident throughout our stay. The rooms were kept clean and tidy on a daily basis, and the staff were always friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Le Manumea and would highly recommend it to others.
- Clint (8/5): - We had a great stay, property was buzzing and had everything we needed. Would stay again
- Katie (8/5): - Good
- Rachel (8/5): - We liked being slightly out of town but only a shirt taxi ride into Apia. The staff were kind a friendly and happy to help. We had four people staying in a room and there was plenty of room for us all. The outside bathrooms are really lovely
- Jo (8/5): - Felt welcomed and looked after. Great staff, great owner, awesome rooms
- Falefatu (10/5): - Quiet
- Edwina (8/5): - Worth the price! Definitely will be coming back to Le Manumea. Loved everything
- Andrew (8/5): - It was a lovely place
- Ellouise (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay, friendly service and very helpfull, only downfall was the long wait for our breakfast, so its best to order early before heading down to eat but still the food was amazing, my parents very much enjoyed their stay, and would definitely book again in our next stay
- pago (10/5): - Good
- Lauren (8/5): - Mark down only because the room wasn't ready when we arrived for check in at 2pm - they had all day to get it ready and just started cleaning at the time we arrived, so that took another 40mins. Otherwise the accommodation was fine, we only stayed there 2 nights. Bed was very comfortable and outdoor shower was cool.
- Iutita (10/5): - My nephew & I really enjoyed our stay there. It was one of the best places I had ever stayed in. They serve the best authentic breakfast. Best pancakes. Their fiafia night is one of the best HANDS DOWN!! . No doubt I will be back here on my next visit. The atmosphere & everyone there are so very welcoming. Not to mention the owner Luna & daughter Tualagi wow such nice & positive people to be around. We love them❤️
- Tofi (10/5): - I loved everything except for the car park bit too small
- Reupena (8/5): - Staff were friendly. Room was clean. Beds were comfy. Pool murky & needed a vacuum/clean. Gardens around the rooms well kept. Carpark is small. Staff did not advise this on arrival. Guests double park, if you need to leave early keep this in mind as you’ll have to find who has blocked you in. We came in late at night and were last ones in then set an alarm for 6am to move the car out on roadside so others could get out. Bathroom and toilet outdoor but is secure & private. Good location, short drive to Apia.
- Faith (6/5): - Good things
It's a good Facility except for several others
I like the Rooms as we're a group. Spacious and bathrooms are tidy
Friendly staffs. Very welcome
Challenges.
Just detail stuffs. Cleanliness
The car park is a squeeze at time's and our vehicle had been scratched on doors and front.
Facility. Dark. Needs lighting ✨️. Room a bit dark for us eventhough we have good sights
Area. the reception area is also very dark. Not sure if it is samoan thing as it is with most places , shops around town
- Theresa (8/5): - Le Manumea was such a fun stay! We got to see their Fia Fia night which was a blast. Their host was the best we’d seen on the island and we went to 3. Close to the city and other attractions. We attended their end of month pool party during our stay, food was fairly priced and also delicious! Only downfall was that there wasn’t any hot water, we notified the staff but wasn’t too fussed as it’s quite hot there. Overall we had a great stay and the staff there are so helpful. Would definitely recommend.
- Cansy (8/5): - Such lovely people running this hotel. We had a great time.
- Loia (8/5): - Beautiful resort the room we stayed in was amazing great location staff was awesome would definently stay there again and hopefully we can catch the fiafia night as the locals have told us how good it is faafetai lava and hopefully we will be back very soon
- Tinaeseneiaso (10/5): - Owner was so wepcoming so was the staff! Highly recommend this great place! Fiafia night was fully booked and owner managed to squeeze our family of 7 in and bump us up to front row seats! Couldnt think of a better place to stay.
Faafetai lava Le Manumea, we will be back! As booboo says .."Rawrrr" 😂
- Megan (2/5): - The room here was sooo bad that I only spent 1 night. I let my friend that was traveling use the room and I found another on the island. Please avoid.
- LAWRENCE (10/5): - My first time at Le Manumea Resort was in 2010 and we loved it back then. 2024 is our second time here and we loved it even more. Our room is spacious, and so is the outdoor bathroom/shower, we also had stocked kitchen-we loved everything. The staff were the best!! The staff went above and beyond with everything, they even helped push my car out of a ditch (thank you for saving my car!) I wish we could have stayed longer
- Christian (8/5): - Lovely place but could do with clean pillow cases, when we got in our room one of the pillow have red stains on it, but we love our staying there
- Siasana (8/5): - Fantastic accommodation, friendly and helpful staff.
- Lydia (8/5): - Needs lights on steps it was dark I missed a step and fell. Food was not available during an event. No curtain in kitchen area so no privacy in shower area. But staff very friendly especially a young man named Amu.
- Siasana (10/5): - Rooms are clean and tidy. They're spacious, has the basic amenities you would need. Housekeeping are amazing and they keep the rooms tidy each day. The aircon and ceiling fan are so good for the hot weather.
Will definitely want to stay here again on our next trip to Samoa.
- Pele (10/5): - Thank you for the wonderful stay! Minimal contact with the staff but no fault or theirs we arrived wishing for a quiet arvo/eve before family time on the island and it was exactly what we got
Loved the outdoor shower and the room itself was very at home!
Looking forward to future stays!
- Moses (10/5): - I’ve stayed at the Lava Hotel and Taumeasina and this one beats both. So lovely and quiet. Away from the road and the rooms are far apart that you don’t notice your neighbour, great for someone/body that’s looking for a peaceful stay. Will definitely be back!!
- Malini Gataivasa (10/5): - Tidy and clean
- Aupito (10/5): - Amazing friendly service and so accomodating. Would highly recommend and stay again.
- Ross (10/5): - every thing i needed was at hand , great staff in a quiet location
- Ulielo (2/5): - Like the location, staff were very good, customer service was awesome, what I don't like the room the front door and the back door to the bathroom it seems like it lock from outside, the bathroom is open on the top not fully cover anybody can climb up and looked in while showering and in toilet, the curtains all around the room were not completely close is about and inch between one curtain to another curtain anyone can stand outside looked in while changing or resting and it feels unsafe we booked for 3 night me and my husband decided to leave the hotel after 1 night and look for somewhere safe...
- Maria (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is small, cosy & rooms are spacious with a beautiful outdoor bathroom/toilet. We had an issue with our AC. This was quickly rectified and we were given another room. Not a biggie. The parking area is small. Again not a biggie as there is space external from the site to park. Loved the service from the Staff. They were friendly, warm, attentive and helpful! Highly recommend this spot for families (big and small) and couples! Thank you so much for a great and enjoyable stay!!!
- Maria (10/5): - My daughter booked this hotel for us. We appreciated the service, and the size of our hotel room. The AC unit had malfunctioned and this was quickly rectified. We saw new AC unit's were being installed in diff rooms. A beautiful small hotel away from the jungle of Apia. We would be happy to return and stay at Lemanumea again. Remember to bring your own toiletries such as Soap, shampoo and conditioner as the hotel doesnt supply this. We bought our own so this wasnt a problem. We requested extra towels and was always received well. 10/10 for the service from the Staff.
- Pesi (10/5): - Le Manumea provided an amazing experience; the staff were incredibly attentive, easy to talk to, and took excellent care of us throughout our stay. I'll definitely be booking here again in the future. Thank you, Le Manumea, for your outstanding hospitality
- Valelia (10/5): - The dogs around the property was very concerning especially when you’re afraid of dogs and travelling alone and at night
