- Tara (8/5): Just had a lovely time . - It was gorgeous and clean The beds were very uncomfortable and super hard.
We did not realize the breakfast each day would just be crossant and piece of cake .
We r used to eggs/ bacon and toast for breakfast. So we did not get the benefit of breakfast included .
But we loved the place and the host was very helpful
- Veronica (10/5): Fabulous! - It was beautiful and so clean! The view was amazing! Nothing!
- Marc (8/5): - uitzicht

- tromp (8/5): amazing, fresh coffee every morning and croissant that is the breakfast, light and fresh, - The Host Umberto was right there waiting for us. prepare to walk alot if you would like to get some food close by, alot of stairs
- Dave (10/5): Will stay again. - Beautiful view of water and cities surrounding. Has parking which isn’t easy elsewhere. Owner had a grape vine area next door. Beautiful patio terrace for breakfast, lounge chairs for private balcony with panoramic view. Super helpful to book excursions and carry luggage. Everything was beautiful and great price.
- Marina (10/5): Fantastico!

- Emmelyn (8/5): Pleasant but over priced for what you get. - Host is friendly and helpful . The view from the breakfast area is superb. If you consider to stay here, make sure you bring shower soap, body lotion.
Also it is quite remote so be prepared to walk far to the bust stop.
Parking is quite expensive , euro 1 per hour.
- Natalie (7/5): Would not stay again and would research more about facilities and location. - The view No coffee, tea, water - facilities to make these.
Dietary requirements for breakfast not taken into consideration.
False advertising to access to public transport.
Room was considerably smaller than described.
My przyjechaliśmy autobusem i od przystanku musieliśmy pokonać 900 schodów 🥵
- Nino (8/5): It was okay - The hotel is very beautiful and the view is amazing There was no coffee or water in the room
- Grzegorz (3/5): Piękny widok. - Śniadanie pozostawiało wiele do życzenia.
- christopher (4/5): will never set foot in that place again. - Very bad host, he was very rude and condescending. He has video surveillance over the private terraces. He lies about the parking, so I cannot recommend this place. He writes that there is a short distance to the various attractions, but that is not true at all. I will never set foot in that place again.

- Al Attal (10/5): - Tutto Niente
- Szilárd (9/5): beautiful house and view, recommended with car - Beautiful house with care on details, panoramic view, friendly host with useful recommendations. Obviously this place to be booked if you arrive by car, othervise several hundred of stairs up or down :-) for public bus. Amazing home made orange marmalade. There is nothing we disliked. Rather a recommendation: i.) to place some glass also in the rooms for own drinks, ii.) breakfast can be more diverse. (not only sweet staffs (marmalade, croissant, lemon cake), but maybe some vegetable, fruit, butter, cheese etc. here and there). Overall we would recommend the place for others. :-) It is really nice.
- Aron (10/5): Amazing! Fun and happy! - Amazing!
- Aleksandra (8/5): Very good -
- Ivan (10/5): Amaizing stay in Furore by the Amalfi coast - Furore is a hidden gem and Casa del Melograno is on the cliffs viewing the beautiful sea. The rooms are clean and code with a breathtaking view. Very well recommended
- Adriana (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (7/5): Good -
- Judit (8/5): Very good - The view was beautiful. The pictures of the terrace were misleading – it wasn't what we saw when we made the booking – and we really missed having a mosquito net.
- Denitsa (10/5): Exceptional - Exactly as in the pictures - just stunning! Beautiful view of the whole bay from up in the mountains, romantic terraces, great host with a lot of useful tips about boat trips, the Amalfi traffic and restaurants. He attends to every guest individually. The stay here was a total bliss! Thank you for everything, Umberto!
- Ramos (10/5): Short stay overlooking the Mediterranean - The terrace overlooking the Mediterranean was beautiful! Loved how Umberto was there throughout the day in case we needed anything. Nothing worth noting- the stay was great!
- Stathis (8/5): Very good -
- Florin (5/5): Passable - Clean place, nice view, nice restaurant close to location The host was not flexible with morning coffee and breakfast.
Poor breakfast.
A lot of facilities and activities specified on booking are not available on the property.
- Candiceleigh (6/5): Stunning views and great accommodation if you only need a place to sleep. - The views at the property were amazing. Umberto helped us with finding a restaurant for the first evening as well as transport to the restaurant. Our room was clean, bed comfy, linen and bathroom clean. Water pressure great and hot water available. Breakfast was consistent a croissant with lemon cake and home made jams, nice on the first day and coffee with breakfast was great. Great accommodation if you only need a place to sleep. Free street parking was available. We took the economy room, however the size and offering was not what we expected. The room had no fridge or coffee making facility. Not even water glasses.
We were not allowed to use any of the cutlery outside of breakfast hours, not the kettle to boil water or mugs to make our own coffee. We were given unlimited coffee at breakfast, however had to wait for 8am for this. We sat on the patio in the evenings watching the sunset and enjoying a glass of wine, however we were not allowed to use any of his glasses or mugs and were finally given tiny plastic cups, which did not cope with the wind.
Umberto was pleasant at times and not so pleasant at other times. We felt he was irritated with us like we were an inconvenience. We were a big group, but he knew this when we made the booking. He would practice playing the piano during siesta time and late in the evenings, if it was ongoing music it would have been pleasant.
- Lazaro (4/5): Disappointing - It was ok The hot water last it 2 minutes very little soap after bringing it to his attention he admitted that he was going to turn it on. He stated that is you get makeup on the towels you would have to paid $10 per towel the air conditioning was not on if you wanted cool air he would have to turn the breaker on toilet paper was limited and the fridge was unplug and I have to say a strange individual
- Kendra (10/5): This was the best part of our entire trip to Italy. Of everywhere we stayed we have never loved a place as much as this. - The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The room we stayed in was a bit small but all we needed and very comfortable and clean. The view was also amazing. The host is AMAZING. He is so attentive, takes great care of you and works so hard. There is nothing I didn’t like about the property. The location is a little far from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi and Positano but everything about the property made it worth it.
- Shamiul (8/5): Stunning views, comfortable, helpful host BUT remote location, inconsistent commute, expensive taxi - The hotel offers a fantastic view, with the ocean right in front. The scenery is beautiful. Breakfast was great, and our host, Umberto, was extremely friendly and helpful. He provided detailed information on how to get around the area and even offered assistance with taxi services, although taxis are quite expensive there.
The room was quiet and comfortable, but it was a bit small, making it hard to move around. However, the bed was large enough for two people and very comfortable. The room also had a window with an ocean view and air conditioning. The Wi-Fi was excellent as well.
There’s an elevator on the premises, and host Umberto is available until 10 pm if you need any assistance.
Note: When you reach there, don't just start climbing the stairs because that seems intuitive, there is a gate to the building just with the road, knock there and they'll open the gates for you. Check in time was 2 pm and Checkout time was 10 am in the morning. It's unusual and you have to get out of the room quite early in the morning. It's inconvenient if you have flight late at night.
The location is quite remote, making it difficult to commute to the hotel from Amalfi town center. The bus comes once every hour, and it’s often 30 minutes late. Additionally, the bus stops running after 5 pm, so if you’re stuck in Amalfi after that time, you’ll be in trouble. Even if you take the bus, it only goes as far as Furore, the nearest station to the hotel. From there, you’ll have to climb 900 stairs to reach the hotel, which takes about 30 minutes.
If you miss the bus, taxis are available (host Umberto also offers a taxi service), but they are very expensive. The taxi fare from the hotel to Amalfi town is 50 euros, while the bus costs just 1.50 euros.
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jain (8/5): Very good -
- Adriana (8/5): Beautiful and calm place close to Amalfi - Humberto has an amazing hotel, every detail give you the sense of being inside a fairy tale.
Everything was done by handmade so is delicious enjoy each corner and private areas.
Humberto is very kind, Thanks Humberto for your attentions.
Ask to Humberto whatever you need , he will get it for you !
- Shevchuk (10/5): Exceptional - Breathtaking view:)
Outstanding cleanliness:)
- Simrandeep (7/5): Good -
- Duhan (6/5): Despite the kindness from the the owner of the faclity, It’s not a place I can stay with the family for the next time - Location was good but need a car to reach there, there’s public transport but you need to wait the times snd walk to reach the bus station
The facility is clean and comfortable but for the beginning, there’s no room service for cleaning during a week stay. It’s simple Bed&Breakfast. Facility is comfortable but does not serve so much option. There’s no cleaning service by default and breakfast is so simple without any option
- Georgette (8/5): Very good - Lovely view and patio area. Room was comfortable. Host was very helpful and informative. Location was a bit further and higher up than we anticipated but seeing the views and Fjord of Furore was breathtaking.
- Lia (9/5): Gorgeous terrace and views of the coast - For our budget we had to pick the tiniest room (barely space to have your luggage open on the floor), but the room had one window that just looked out into the gorgeous blue sea! It was worth it! Bed was comfy, we loved it. The b&b has a gorgeous common terrace that we spent most of our time on, including breakfast (croissant, cake & coffee) with jam home made by the owner. We were able to read and enjoy an aperitivo on the terrace as well. Umberto is an active and welcoming host, stayed around for chats, played the piano and offered recommendations.
Furore like a lot of places on the coast is isolated, so recommend having a car. We could walk to a few restaurants as well, ~15 minute *HILLY* walks.
Metered parking is available out front (2 euro an hour). Room was small, but was advertised as such. Could have used more soap.
- Tutt (10/5): Fantastic views in family-run small hotel - We spent 3 days in Umberto‘s lovely place and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy spectacular views away from the noise of the coast. Umberto‘s advices proved super useful to find great places to visit or where to eat, find the mini bus to get down to town, etc. We will be back!
- Lana (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property and views. Clean room with enough beds for a family of 5. Breakfast was tasty. Host was super responsive and helpful arranging rides as needed.
- Dian (5/5): Will not return. Hostile, unwelcoming and unhelpful host - Boutique style property and stunning view from the bedroom balcony. From our first encounter with the host, it was clear that we were in for a difficult few days. Not only did the accommodation fail to serve a proper breakfast (one croissant and a coffee hardly count as breakfast), but the host was also hostile and treated my fiancé and me like children. The week spent at La Casa Del Melograno felt like walking on eggshells, almost reminiscent of being kids with a grumpy stepmother.
We wanted to leave the minute we arrived. This was because we were made to feel inferior, and we dared not ask for additional pillows, keep the AC on for more than five minutes, or dream of drinking our coffee in our room just five feet from the “breakfast” balcony.
Unfortunately location was a miss too. It was more isolated than we expected, so if you find yourself staying here, prepare yourself not only for a rude, unwelcoming host, but for a staircase to heaven 😂 and get a car!!
- Pamela (7/5): Good - It is a little bit abroad from Amalfi, very uphill. The view from melograno was stunning, we could see the ocean right in front of us. The Host was gentle. The Room was a little bit tiny with our luggage.
- Jackson (10/5): Just left our 6 night stay at Casa Del Melograno and have nothing but amazing things to say. From the view, location, an -
- Denis (10/5): Very helpful and friendly host, view is fantastic. The hotel super cozy and designed perfect - Host, view and hotel design were amazing! everything was great
- Slav (10/5): Perfect! - The host was really nice guy. He is very helpful and kind. Great view. Spacious rooms . It was clean and comfortable. The hotel is inspired by Santorini. Thank you!
- Delamaire (10/5): Exceptional - Umber yo was a great host ! We enjoyed a lot
- Jerome (10/5): Exceeded all our expectations and will last in our memories forever. - Umberto (our host) was exceptional to deal with and very interested in ensuring that our much anticipated trip to the Amalfi Coast was memorable. From boat trips, restaurant recommendations and transport, scooter hire and suggestions on where to go and what to see, nothing was too much trouble for him. He went from a welcoming host to friend in a very short space of time. I would highly recommend La Casa Del Melograno to any first time Amalfi Coast travelers not much to improve on
- Milind (2/5): Very poor - Other than the view absolutely nothing. This place is in middle of nowhere. Please don’t go there without your own transportation The owner is arrogant, irresponsible and a frustrated man. If you go here without your own transportation you will be stuck ! Huge costs to go anywhere. A complete useless location. There is not even a Bar &/or restaurant nearby. Horrible experience indeed
- Esteban (8/5): Wonderful views from the amazing terrace - The terrace where the breakfast is served have some wonderful views. The host was kind and correct and help us with information regarding which beaches to visit with a toddler. The room was roomy and beds were comfortable. Its located in a mid point on the Amalfi coast. 40 mins to Amalfi and 1 hour to Positano. The location is great if you have a car or a Vespa to move around, mind this. Our room was not clean during our 4 nights stay something that looked weird to us. The breakfast is correct according to the Italian costumes, for some might be a little bit simple, or little.
- Amanda (7/5): Good - The room was really clean, the view in the balcony is stunning and the location was ideal, very calm neighbourhood. Umberto was very helpful, always on time and supportive with any questions and requests, he really helped our stay. The WiFi was not working sometimes and the AC sometimes was off.
- Oksana (4/5): Disappointed - We loved the views. It’s simply breathtaking. I wouldn’t recommend this place. We read the reviews so didn’t expect much but still. We were told that we’re going to have a nice room. Our room had the smallest window I’ve ever seen, looked like a small hole, and the doors had windows that could open and let some light in , however the glass wouldn’t open so you couldn’t get any air. We were told we have a private terrace, however it’s not private as people from neighbouring room can use it too and the owner was using it too. We couldn’t open the windows in our room because people on the terrace would see us straight away, no curtains or anything like that. The sun loungers on the terrace looked disgusting, really old, with stains and tears. Anything you need, you need to ask for it. Feels like you’re staying as a guest in someone’s house, and everything feels like a huge favour. We had to ask for fresh towels on day 4 since there was no room service. Same croissants and coffee for breakfast every single morning but apparently if you ask you may get a yoghurt?? Overall the whole experience wasn’t nice
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- Nedinkovski (7/5): Good -
- Teo (8/5): Very good - Exelent veiw and Umberto is always there to help. You cant go to Fiordo di Furore by foot, you need to go with the car...
- Shady (1/5): Horrific experience in a gorgeous location!! - The location The host (Umberto) is extremely rude, knows nothing about hospitality (evident from his replies to other hosts posts).
Our flight was delayed & he charged us €80 extra to do a late check in which is absurd!
No accessibility, had to go literally 100s of stairs up or down to reach the closest bus station.
No room cleaning for 5 days!!
Very poor breakfast (a cappuccino + a dry croissant)
Air con was switched off for a few hours in the middle of the blazing heat.
Edit: You're absolutely right, we were unfair, we gave you a rating of 3 when it should have been a 1 after your lovely reply!
- Ivy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (3/5): Poor -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Our room was beautiful and the view was breathtaking. Our host was so kind and helped us to get to our destinations. Our main beach was just 900 steps from our hotel.
- Brayden (9/5): Superb - Amazing view for breakfast. Rooms were pretty tidy, host was very accommodating and helped organise a few things around the area. Would recommend the small boat tour to Capri from Amalfi. Getting to Positano or Amalfi requires hiking either up or down stairs to get to bus stops. No uber around and taxis are pretty expensive.
- Hannah (10/5): Beautiful property with an amazing view! Such a lovely stay and Umberto was so hospitable with breakfast and making sure - Beautiful property with an amazing view! Such a lovely stay and Umberto was so hospitable with breakfast and making sure we had all we needed!
- Radoslav (9/5): Overall, a great and romantic experience, helpful host. - Great views and lovely hosts! The room we stayed in was small (economy), but cosy. It felt like home. We had a small window that was overlooking the big blue sea. It was great to have this view especially first thing in the morning when you open your eyes. There was a lift operating from 8am to 10pm. The massive terrace is communal with plenty of room for everyone, tables, chairs, etc. This was a lovely opportunity to socialize with the neighbors and to make new friends. There was a car park free of charge. Everything was nice and super clean when we arrived. It would have been nice if we could have some spare bedsheets/towels at some point, as we stayed for 6 nights.
- Giuseppe (10/5): A perfect holiday - We had a fabulous staying . We spent our holidays with a great welcome by the Casa del Melograno Mr Umberto. Thanks it was great !
- Majed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - very clean, Umberto is very friendly and welcoming. great views nothing
- Eimantas (1/5): Some photos does not correspond to reality - Calm location clean room. Some photos does not correspond to reality. Do not expect to use common spaces. Main terrace is only for breakfest. Sunbeds in green terrace also was not able to use.
Location is not convinient if you have not rent car or scooter.
- Joern (9/5): Great place, great host, happy to come again! - Casa del Melograno is in an excellent location with an unbeatable view. Umberto's self made marmelades are a dream! Umberto has succeeded to build a beautiful place with lots of attention to detail. Local ceramic tables, self made steel forged lamp assemblies and much more. And now also with a piano in the entrance hall!
I encourage fellow travellers to follow Umberto's advice on local restaurants. Describe what you are in for, and he will provide you with a recommendation and call the restaurant.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - In short, you’re realistically paying for the view. However, my partner and I really appreciated the “homely” feel of Casa Del Melograno with having homemade breakfast every morning and having a host as helpful as Umberto. We didn’t realise how small our room would be for a 6 night stay which proved to be quite challenging. Be aware that the b&b is a down hill walk (roughly 400 steps) from the local shop and bus station and 900 steps up from the beach - be prepared to get your steps in!
- Liam (8/5): We loved our stay and we would go back. Umberto was very helpful. A beautiful property and we loved our holiday to the A - La Casa Del Melograno is in a beautiful location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The views are incredible. Furore is a great location, quiet and easy to get to all of the tourist spots if you have transport (this is a must, hire a car or scooter otherwise it would be difficult as Taxis expensive!).
Umberto was very helpful and always on hand to answer any questions, help book excursions (highly recommend the boat trip to Capri) and helped us hire a scooter. Our room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfy. We loved being able to sit out on the balcony in the evening.
Umberto’s homemade marmalades for breakfast are fantastic! We stayed for 10 nights and felt the room lacked a few basics like cups/glasses/plates/kettle if you wanted to have a drink or eat a sandwich. The room had a fridge but it was quite small.
The aircon was nice but seemed to only work at certain times of the day.
Breakfast was great but a bit of variation would be nice (fruit, yoghurt, juices etc) but the croissants were lovely.
- Sima (10/5): Amalfi holiday.........., - Everything was great Umberto was the nicest man you can meet, the view and everything else was just beautiful, great food (breakfast) from Umbertos garden all natural
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional - excellent service and beautiful view
- Bella (6/5): Pleasant - Poor location not close to any busy area, no facilities on site, dreary furnished rooms, and expensive in comparison to other options nearby.
- Nimilolu (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the views from the balcony! Great location and easy to arrive with google maps. Friendly staff, answered all our quetions!
- Chikhamon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Erica (3/5): don’t stay here! picturesque view not worth the hassle - view from patio over the water!!! that’s amazing but you can find it elsewhere attitude of host was anything from gracious and welcoming- super far and difficult drive to get anywhere- if you rent a car be prepared for a nail biter! really the very worst value for my money in the month long trip through all of Italy, and breakfast was terrible- marginal coffee and Costco-worthy croissants every day.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb - The accommodations were comfortable with an exceptional view. The building is an amazing structure built into the side of the mountain.
there was plenty of space to relax. Parking was easy. Breakfast was excellent!
- Margrethe (7/5): Good - The room was big and clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast we had with a beautiful view over the ocean. I would reccommend to have a car or a scooter if you decide to stay here. The beach is quite far, 900 steps and approximately 25 min walk from the hotel. You have to do the same walk to access the buses to positano and amalfi. There is also not that many restaurant options nearby.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing house with beautiful views. Spotlessly clean. Quiet perfect for couples.
- Lauren (10/5): Cosy B&B with Amazing Views - Waking up to such a beautiful view every morning was so amazing, it felt like a dream. Breakfast was served with Umbertos delicious homemade marmalade, lemon curd, and lemon cake on the Terrance with incredible views of the Amalfi coast. This made the trip truly wonderful. The B&B was clean and well kept and felt very family orientated. I wouldn't hestitate to recommend this B&B.
- Johannes (6/5): Melodrama - Geweldig uitzicht. Gedateerd interieur. Sanitaire voorzieningen slecht.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Could have been fabulous. Beautiful facility but requires car to stay there. Owner very helpful in many ways. Rooms had no opening windows and had poor quality air, stone exterior staircase was uneven with no safety rail and was hazardous to use for an older person such as myself and shortage of soap and towels.
- Emilia (8/5): Relax - Ottima accoglienza dal tutto fare Umberto vista bellissima ottima colazione esperienza indimenticabile
