- Belinda (10/5): - Outstanding hotel! Loved everything about it. We were visiting for 1 night to do the safari (which was also fab) but wished we stayed another night just to chillax!! Was nicely surprised that their dining prices were no more expensive (in fact cheaper in some cases) than other equivalent properties in Sri Lanka given the remoteness & no other options! Food & staff were great. Lovely pool. Highly recommend.

- Mariette (8/5): - This is a beautiful property. We loved our room, verandah and open air shower. The bar and buffet dining was excellent. Staff was extremely courteous and professional. During our stay there it rained and we had rooms furthest from the lobby area. Parts of the walk to our room were unprotected from the rain and the walkways were quite wet and slippery despite attempts by the staff to mop. Further protection from adverse weather conditions would be appreciated. Overall, loved our stay at this property and would highly recommend to others.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great stay at Jetwing From the start the staff were friendly and welcoming. Easy check in and shown to our beach view room. Room was very clean and spacious. Large shower room and deck area were great. Extensive food options avaialble and all that we had were very tasty. Other facilities like pool and gym appeared inviting, although we only had 2 nights and so were unable to make use, as we had trips planned. Had a great stay and would recommend.

The pool is excellent for lap swimmers. At night occasionally elephants come to the pool and other animals. Lots and lots of monkeys but they did not bother us at all.

- Susan (8/5): - The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The food is very good with an extensive breakfast buffet, cooked by very friendly chefs to order. They will pack up a picnic if you’re going into the Park early. The swimming pool is desperately in need of repair as there are many missing tiles and the flagstones around it wobble when walked on.
- Emily (8/5): - We absolutely loved the hotel and the ambience, especially how it's blended into the nature. It's lovely to see the monkeys, birds, lizards running around. We took the safari the hotel arranged and it was amazing. However, the dinner buffet was disappointing and overpriced. For the second evening we had to drive out for 30 minutes to the nearby town Tissa to eat out. The service is lacking and it's not 5-star hotel standard. The staff were more friendly to the locals than foreigners. We felt slight judgement from them too. They weren't keen to offer help or service. We had to ask and keep asking. Although for what we asked we got the service needed. Overall we are happy with the stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overall good with so much potential - The place is so lovely with a very nice pool and beach access. So much potential and so near the safari. However, I had some mishaps which might be isolated to me. The porters accidentally broke my Samsonite luggage handle, no towels in the room and called for ice twice but wasn't sent. Other than these, I would recommend them highly. Oh yes, toilet smelt slightly mouldy.

Food selection was reasonable and the chef was nice and very careful to accommodate my spouse’s dietary restrictions (food allergy). Staff was professional and very nice, which was our experience across all resorts in Sri Lanka. Amazing service by super nice people!

- Verified traveler (4/5): - This was the fourth hotel I stayed in in Sri Lanka, and unfortunately was a let down in a number of respects. My initial impression was positive as the property is large, (seemed) peaceful and has lovely views. While being checked into my room I was a bit surprised about being asked if I needed to know how to use the facilities in the room. Of course I would! The air con had no remote control and was hidden in the corner and I wouldn’t have found the controller had I not asked. The woman showing me in seemed sullen and miserable. Again, initial impressions of the room were quite good - very large and spacious with a ginormous bathroom. After that I noticed a few minor inconveniences - hardly any plug sockets, room safe didn’t work and the bedding was really uncomfortable. The sheet was too small for the bed and was fitted over a slippery mattress protector. Later that night I found myself slipping and sliding around a lot, which contributed in part to two very bad nights’ sleep. First morning I woke early to go on safari and the packed breakfast was adequate although the bread was stale and I couldn’t eat most of what was in the box as it had cakes/croissants etc. and I can’t eat anything containing dairy. After the safari I went to the pool. Very quiet and peaceful but hard to relax as there are little shaded areas and the loungers don’t have cushions and so are really uncomfortable. I was going to order a drink but asked for the menu and asked for about ten minutes to cons
- Susan (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - It’s a wonderful hotel set in an amazing location. The beach and pool were great, my massage was fantastic. The location next to the National Park is just another plus.
- Sara (10/5): Incredible Experience - Truly one of the best days of my life was at this hotel. The location and views are a dream and the buffet breakfast was one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. I spent the day at the pool, in the spa, drinking a mojito on the beach front, and enjoying the views. They helped me arrange a safari to Yala which was wonderful. A must stay on any trip to Sri Lanka! The only downside was the dirt road leading to the hotel is in really banged up condition so was a bit hard on the car that dropped me off, but I was told the hotel is on a national park land so it can't be paved. So not really their fault.

- Shakir (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - Wonderful hotel - Pleasantly surprised to have this experience at a Hotel that is situated 10 minutes away from a Wildlife park. The hotel is in very good condition, large rooms with modern amenities and spacious washrooms (Loved the waterfall pipe). Food quality was amazing and we got all the usuals for a hearty breakfast. The beach is lovely, the pool is well maintained and the staff are immaculate. Gym and Spa are well maintained. Lots of activities for kids. The Turtle hatchery they've got on the beach was a definite plus to our experience. And all the wildlife, very safe, but so much to see.

Wildlife was great - we saw capuchin monkeys, wild pigs, elephans just on the hotel premises. Pool and private beach made it even more perfect. The only bad thing is was the very slow service in the restaurant during dinner time. Other than that the hotel is 10/10.

- Tharinda (10/5): Clean hotel & friendly staff but price gouge - The whole family enjoyed the stay. Our kids loved the pool and access to the beach. Will definitely give 5 out of 5 stars on attentive staff, cleanliness, comfort. 4 out of 5 on dining. My biggest complaint was I tried to reserve a safari jeep through the hotel for the Yala safari tour and the hotel was going to charge more than USD 100 per adult for the jeep because we were non-Sri Lankan. This is unacceptable. I directly spoke with a local safari tour company and arranged a safari keep + tour guide for SLR 5000, which is equivalent to USD 25 for the whole family. It is unfortunate when a reputed hotel practices that type of price gouging behavior.

- Lesley (8/5): Overpriced hotel - One of the higher quality hotels near to Yala National Park but very expensive and although it was very comfortable I felt that it was overpriced. Staff training needs to be improved eg bar staff did not appear to measure spirits accurately when 3 were ordered one was half the size of the other 2, this was corrected when pointed out but should never have happened in the first place. Food could also be improved buffet was inferior to other hotelsthat were cheaper that we have stayed at while in Sri Lanka. Overall I felt that this hotel was a touch of style over substance and that there was definitely room for improvement.

They don’t greet guests, they stay at the phone or talking to their colleagues. I brought a third guest and I was clear on that, yet they made me feel like I am stealing something from them. Also, it says in the policy that extra charges for extra person around 17 USD, they first asked me to cancel my reservation and book again and when I refused, they asked me to pay 30 USD!!!!!! This is so diopponting! he smell of bathrooms were bad... the environment made me feel unsafe, the way to the beach was scary!! This is difeneteley a 3 star hotel for sure not a 4.7 hotel...

- Verified traveler (8/5): Solid & dependable good value choice in Yala Park - Located in actual Yala Park itself, a good base from which to see the animals in the park. We booked a safari tour independently rather than use the services provided by the hotel. This allowed us our own vehicle to go out for as long as we wanted. Staff very attentive and food solid. Difficult to find at night on arrival due to poor signage so make sure, if you're going with an independent driver, that you know exactly where it is as it is off the main road down an unpaved track!
- Prof Francis (6/5): Best place from which to launch your safari - We booked based on reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms and facilities. Our tour driver arranged the safari in a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a raised seated platform that set off from the hotels at 6am. The hotel provided a packed sandwich breakfast. We had booked a suite which was large and lovely and comfortable. You could step out into the garden and walk to the pool. Bar staff were friendly. Food was a disappointment. All the buffet food was insipid. We tried the A La Carte dining the next day. My wife's food was ok. My crab was off and caused an uncomfortable night. Housekeeping staff should be trained to spot items requiring maintenance - the curtains has come off the tracks at the ends and must have been noticed when they opened them to service the room. Some things in the bathroom needed attention.
- Allana (10/5): Nice eco friendly resort - Amazing location and beautiful property and great it is a eco friendly resort. You would only stay here if wanting to visit Yala national park and go on 'safari'. Unfortunately part of the park was closed by the time we arrived for the dry season which the hotel didnt notify me about - I wouldn't have bothered if I had of known. The other section they keep open isnt worth it in my opinion and a waste of money if paying through hotel. We got our driver to organize for us instead which cost us half the price so wasn't so bad. Staff were very friendly and food was good.

No dodgy operator and we saw leopard and bear, amongst many other wild life. We will come back, everything exceed expectations. Oh I forgot to mention, we are so impressed by their no plastic policy. Very very pleased with our stay there.

- christine (10/5): Safari, Ocean and Tented Villas/Hotel - In a mix of environs, we are transported to a natural wildlife park, arid and dry, with cows, wild boars, rabbits, jumping monkeys and "humping dogs", throw in Cape Cod's sand dunes so fine and the Indian Ocean so rough and you've now got our next Sri Lankan featured destination, the modern Jetwing Hotel & Tented Villas of Yala Park! Here, we Glamped in the Tented Villas (2xs the price of hotel rooms) for the experience and then transfer into the hotel rooms with our 4 kids ages 17, 15, 13 and 9 years of age! Herbert Cooray, Jetwing's Founder, generous to a fault, was a loyal businessman to his clients, colleagues and staff. His motto through all the dark days & challenges of Sri Lanka coups, terrorism, and the big Tsunami in 2004 that wiped out over 30,000+ people plus 21K+ injured was to be a source of support to everyone, their families, to leave no debts unpaid, and when money was tight, a model for all, to take no salary. In life, he never thought he'd fall into the hotelier biz, as he started out in construction similar to his dad's profession, but he had an intuition for business, a knack for people, and when opportunities came his way, he'd assess and seize upon it. In it all, he created an amazing family of Jetwing hotels in Sri Lanka with a name that honors people, staff that become family, an architectural design to meet clientele's desires and accommodations that is sustainable in its environment. - Sharon (10/5): Outstanding - This has got to be the most magical hotel we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. If you love your wildlife but also enjoy the luxuries in life then I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived, feeling weary from our journey, the staff could not do enough to make our stay as perfect as can be. Particular mention goes to Sajeevu in the restaurant and Anthony in the bar, both of whom receive our utmost thanks for being so wonderful. The wealth of wildlife we saw, often as we were lazing in or around the pool, was far beyond what I could ever have imagined. We even caught sight of a tusker! The hotel itself is beautiful - the pictures on the website give a hint but it's far more. Rooms are decorated in a colonial style; very relaxing, cool and clean. If you have the chance to stay longer than a couple of days then jump at the chance - you won't regret it!

- Matthew (10/5): A 5 star hotel near park entrance for safari trips - All of the staff were very friendly and professional. Fantastic pool. Great meals, with the chef greeting everyone at dinner. We tried a tent one night which was very nice and then a regular room the next two nights (it was huge with a sitting area and upstairs extra bedroom we didn't need). It was so great to see the fantastic view of the pool with Lion Rock in the distance from the lobby. It was amazing to have the wild boars, water buffalo and elephants roaming the grounds.
- ARTI (10/5): Beautiful hotel - The Hotel is large so ask for a room in the first block. The room was large , well appointed, clean with great amenities, very comfortable beds, fruit basket in the room, a 10' x 12' bathroom, with excellent products. The location is quiet, not much to do around the Hotel. The beach, the pool and gym are lovely, as is the property. The bar has some fine wines, the restaurant serves quality Asian food and the big restaurant has something for everyone. Very popular with large groups, the Hotel is surprisingly quiet and is wheelchair & kid friendly. And you must take a safari to neighboring Yala National Park.
- Eran (10/5): Great hotel ! - One of the best hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka, well located near the entrance to Yalla national park. The hotel is relatively new and well maintained. The rooms are beutyfull and comfortable. The food was good but expensive to what is offred. The hotel grounds are one of the nicest you will see . The staff is service oriented and sometimes too much .. expecting to be tipped for every action. Potential to be an excellent hotel.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent hotel - My sister and I had a great 2 night stay in early July. The hotel was very good quality and we loved the enormous swimming pool. The staff were excellent and very attentive. We were lucky enough to see wild pigs and lots of monkeys around the hotel grounds.
- JANE (8/5): Lovely hotel - but could be a bit better - The hotel has a great pool and the wildlife is a delight. Good rooms and balconies. Food was good in the bar, not so consistent in the restaurant as they do not replenish things quickly enough at all. It feels like a corporate hotel as there is none of the warmth and genuine friendliness that we experienced elsewhere in Sri Lanka. It is perfect for trips to Yala NP though.

- Paul (10/5): Excellent hotel next to fabulous game park - We had just one night here. We arrived early, commenced safari 1.30 with help of early check-in handled very well by staff. We saw so much wildlife rapidly on the safari we were able to cut it short and hit the beautiful pool, one of the very best, before dinner. We ate at an Asian-themed restaurant, four of us each had superb meals. Rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Great hotel and very reasonable value.
- Robert (10/5): Great luxury safari base - Well located on the edge of the national park it's a great base for a safari. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained and the bathrooms are lovely. The pool is really nice, with a swim up bar and attentive service to your lounger. We also braved the beach, which is beautiful and also has attentive service. The only issue is that the waves are huge and there is a current, but it was actually great fun and we were reassured by two lifeguards who paid close attention and had a rescue boat and jetski standing by.

- flysi (10/5): Avoid weekends if you want peace and quiet. - Firstly it is important to point out that this hotel is immaculate. The staff are trained to a 5 star standard and it ranks amongst the top 10 I have stayed at for style and location... ... However it would be unfair not to mention our experience over the weekend period. We arrived around 1pm on Satuday and promptly found our bearings and had lunch. We read the hotel welcome pack and we're thrilled to find out it promoted peace and tranquility during your stay in which to enjoy the natural surroundings. By 2pm we settled by the pool and began to unwind. The atmosphere was truly serene. At 2.30pm the pool area was desended upon by approximately 50 Sri Lankans. They had arrived as a coach party and preceded to take over the entire hotel. The group was made up of families and the atmosphere immediately became one akin to Butlins. Our nerves were immediately frayed and chaos ensued. The entire party entered the pool and splashed and shouted non stop. I discussed this with the general manager highlighting it went against all their policies stated in their welcome pack and to their credit they tried to control a difficult situation. They also explained that this was common place at weekends an public holidays and that whilst it was not the clientèle they would prefer, there was little they could do about it. The chaos continued until 3pm on Sunday when their coach left. They took over every corner of the hotel and had no manners and little respect for the staff or guests.

- Maud (10/5): A great hotel, confortable, and near to the beach - I spent two days there and it was a really good experience : rooms are big and confortables. You have your own balcony to see the sea. You have also a huge pool with all the facilites you need (towels, food and drinks). They also have a restaurant where you can try international food and local. Finally, if you want to get out of the hotel, you can go to the beach (which is really clean) or do a safari in Yala National Park to see elephants and leopards.
