- Beau (5/5): Unfortunate stay - I liked the fact it was quite I didn't like the fact it wasn't clean no blankets lights flickered and one didn't work ac was busted hole in the door no security on the windows at all broken glass still in the window sill over the bench the shower sucked no free WiFi like advertised and the bunk beds where sharp and scratched my child's leg and the room had a awful smell in it for our first hotel stay together it was disappointing

When you travel, you learn to be adaptable. - Breakfast was what we organised for ourselves, beds were comfy, showers were adequate as was the TV. Okay, bench drawers were empty, no cutlery or crockery, there was 4 cups, 4 small plates & 2 teaspoons (no forks or knives) on microwave, thin curtains and security lights lit up like Boggo Rd, (I did 50 years railway shift work and blinds or heavy curtains are needed) couldn't find Reception, no signage & "office" was locked with no notices on times and didn't see any staff. Called no. on phone was told receipt would be e-mailed.

The whole room stunk of mold, it was filthy, it had old soap in the shower and someone else’s hair. only clean thing was the sheets. I reluctantly stayed here with my children, only because I arrived at 10pm after 600klm drive.

- Louise (3/5): Underwhelming and disappointing - It was in a good position - easy entry to room I would not recommend staying at this motel. Unfortunately, our room was extremely unclean and very disappointing. The shower had visible body hair in it when we arrived. It was so unsanitary that we didn’t feel comfortable using it at all. The bathroom bin had not been emptied and contained rubbish, including a used sanitary pad, which was absolutely unacceptable and unhygienic. There were no proper bed coverings on the bed. The blankets were left in the cupboard, but when we checked them, they were covered in dog hair and clearly had not been cleaned. It made us question whether the bedding had been properly laundered at all. To make matters worse, the timber wall behind the bed was covered in thick dust. The overall cleanliness of the room was disgusting and showed a serious lack of attention to basic hygiene standards. Oh and there was a wheel missing off the double bed. This was a very unpleasant experience, and we were extremely disappointed with the condition of the room.

Booked on-line and got confirmation of room number, within 2 minutes got another confirmation with different room number and access code. Arrived and code didn't work, no reception, phoned and eventually got inside. The room smelled so.old and musty so had to spray room before we could stay there. Free wifi advertised was not available. No chairs to sit on. Crumbled white sheets on 3 beds, no bedspreads only 3 old musty discoloured blankets. Never again.

- Hella (10/5): Professional and courteous - Had called ahead to ask for an earlier check in as I had an appointment and needed to change clothing. Spoke with a person who was the utmost professional and ensured when I arrived the room would be available which it was. No charge, no questions, just going out of their way to make it happen. I normally stay elsewhere but id definitely be returning here next time id need to come. All was fine

- Aireen (3/5): great location but outdated amenities - location was absolutely wonderful. the pin pad keyless access system which makes it so easy to go anywhere without worrying about keys. they also remedied the room issue within 15 minutes after it was raised. the fact that the initial room provided was dirty and smelly. it had a non-functional bathroom light switch, dirty shower with wet floor mats and a shower cap on the smoke alarm. the replacement room still smelled musty and moldy, eventhough there were no visible signs. to be fair, it was bigger than the original room.

- Terry (10/5): A comfortable short stay - We booked 5 rooms for a wedding we attended and the motel kindly allocated us next to each other. Called up before and was simple to arrange. Place was pretty full, parking plenty and probably the biggest carpark in the town. The rooms were pretty darn good. Alot of updates being completed but nothing disruptive at all. Would return.
- Brianna (3/5): Never again. - The location was good, that’s about it and being able to check in at anytime without any dramas. The pictures are extremely misleading - the rooms do not look like this, it says they have been refurbished but I don’t believe they have at all. There was no utensils in rooms, not even a knife or fork to eat my dinner with. The rooms must have paper thin walls because I could hear absolutely everything from next door, workers came in at 2am and woke me up. Cleaners then woke me up after a bad night trying to get access into my room while I was sleeping. Neighbours were all complaining about smells in there rooms as well.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was quiet, making for a great night’s sleep. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, going out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Parking was easy, the location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere felt safe and well cared for. Excellent value for money and far exceeded expectations. - Jason (10/5): Enjoyed our stay fabulous location close to everything - Our room had been recently refurbished, bed was quite ok, had thr normal coffee and teas and clean linen. Walked barefooted in the room and my feet were still clean so I could also tell the floors were also clean. Rooms are still being worked on but there's no disruption to guests and within time they should be all the same standard. We arrived late and spoke to extremely helpful staff to guide us in. Appreciated the clear directions. Everything was ok

- Jase (10/5): Can't fault for the price - Where I come from this is the same a quaint motel 6. However this one is tonnes better. Staff even washed some clothes for me which was unexpected. Room was clean , pool was fresh and blue and slept like a log. Can't fault.
- Don (10/5): Tremendous change loved it - First place Ive stayed that I loved the mattress. So many places have old sink into mattresses that smash your back. These were nice and firm and excellent for my back health. Parking was ample with a large roomy carpark to ensure no terrible drivers or drunks smash into your car like a the pub motels around here. Last week my front door was keyed and smashed at ANOTHER pub close by. Some rooms are freshly painted and looking tremendous. Clearly the crew are getting it running again.If youre looking for a clean safe and pleasant motel then I wouldnt hesitate Nice stay and nutin I didnt enjoy.. You need to be a special kind of person to go around takin photos of rooms and posting them.
- Tody (10/5): No fuss stay - As long as the shower is hot and I can sleep than Im happy. The carpark was also roomy enough for our truck and the staff helped us park it where it wouldnt be in the way. Paid about $145 which in all honesty is peanuts these days for accommodation and was happy with the choice. Felt very safe and quiet with the place being quite busy. Its a no fuss stay thats very clean and pleasant. Even got to have as swim. Pool was also clean, usable and a welcome addition after driving for ages.
- Hong (10/5): Glad we stopped - The motel is convenient, comfortable and clean..As long as the 3 Cs are there, then it's definitely worth for the price. Checknin is the best with all pin and automation. I had arrived 1040pm and I could still get in easily without having to worry about the key. The carpark is lit up well and as soon as the head hit the pillow I was out like a light. Housekeeping asked us if we needed anything but we're no fuss people and can clean up after ourselves. Too much rain!!!

Room wise, was tastefully redecorating, nice crisp clean look, bed slightly hard but way better than a marshmallow mattress that kills your back. Shower was fine and the cherry on top was sitting outside with the supplied biscuit and tea watching the thunderstorms. Happily stay again if given the chance. Nothing

Its all old and built in the 60s or 70s - same and Bundaberg and Gympie and Rocky. I found this place exactly the same. It was clean, quiet and safe. Had no issues with the live on site staff. Infact they gave me directions to the pub and were more than accommodating. Its possible some may find this hospitality confronting but in all honesty alot of the other negative reviews on here are all rubbish where one minor issue like an insect made them say "OH the location is bad, OH the staff is bad, Oh its dirty" ITs clear these are not all true and basically whingers who have no idea about QLD accomm. All in all, Id recommend the place and would stay again. Theyre even adding some refurbs as we speak which is more than anyone else in town I was pleasantly surprised

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism by the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable throughout my stay. The first thing I noticed was how spotlessly clean everything was – from the reception area to the rooms themselves. The attention to detail in the housekeeping was second to none. My room was pristine, with fresh linen, sparkling bathroom surfaces, and not a speck of dust in sight. It’s clear that cleanliness is a top priority here, and it made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The staff were an absolute standout – friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile or a recommendation for local attractions and dining. They created a welcoming environment that really sets this motel apart. If you're looking for a place that values cleanliness, comfort, and exceptional service, Arkana Motel is the perfect choice. I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in Maryborough! The other thing is, most motels in the area treat you like you're a criminal before you step in the door wanting to know why you're there or why youre in their town - this place does not. They have a you beaut automated check in system where you don't need to be questioned like you've don't something wrong. Had no issues with the 3 nights I slept.

On this occasion everything has much improved - I got a renovated room, aircon cold, bathroom looked and smelt immaculate. Also the clientele have improved vastly. Has the potential to be one of the better place in Maryborough once the upgrades are complete. Bed was a tiny bit hard but used getting variety of beds when travelling.

Currently undergoing the process of revitalization - in with the new and out with the old so to speak so definitely a place to keep an eye on. The room has all the amenities you require being a microwave, toaster and kettle. Onsite caretaker even gave me a bowl for my cereal and offered bread for free if I want toast! Where do you get that service? carparking a bit tight when packed but nothing major

Instead of being made to wait until check in time most most other places, we were welcomed and the lady was only to happy to take us to the room and have a quick chat. A very personable first impression. Room was painted well, decent size and above all, clean. Absolutely mammoth improvements and such a cheap price. When we returned later in the afternoon, took a chance to have a swim in the pool and really enjoyed it. The water was clean and surrounding area neat and maintained. Nothing really comes to mind. Honestly if youre paying under $150 and still complaining, you shouldnt be travelling. Stay home

- Joe (10/5): Best service in Maryborough and sparkling clean - I arrived early for a meeting and wasnt expecting to get into the room. However when I arrived the lovely staff dropped what room they were working on and told me my room would be ready for me in a jiffy and went straight to my room and started making it, through no request of my own! What other place in town does this? The answer is none as Ive been to all of them. The service and politeness is honest the best Ive seen in the world. A shout out to the staff because thats above an beyond in my books and that alone deserves recognition. The motel itself is being updated and is an older style motel and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the livability of the room for the price. The price is not high in maryborough so the standard is perfect for the charge. The bathroom had fresh grout and everything smelt and looked it was very very clean. As soon as I entered my room early, I knew everything had been disinfected and cleaned.

- Jason (10/5): We were happy with our short trip - Overall stay was fine. My room had just been renovated and was comfortable. We arrived before lunch and we were more than welcome to check in early which was convenient because we were there for a funeral. Free tea and coffee and biscuits were welcome. The owners are well underway in fixing and replacing and this place has the potential to be the best in maryborough once finished. We were told they are rebranding to a best western which is a great move. Bed was a touch soft but fine as it was new.
