- Jennifer (10/5): - The staff went above and beyond. The property is being renovated which is said might take 2 years but it is quiet. The grounds are beautiful. They have golf carts to get you to your room, front desk, pool, restaurant and parking. They have a pool bar with restaurant, a restaurant and a small cafe which has staples to buy. There is an onsite area to get a taxi but highly recommend renting a jeep to get around the island. About 8 min drive to Cruz bay with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Just be aware September to November a lot of restaurants and businesses shut down on the island. But it is still a great time to go because it is not busy at all! Very relaxing

The clientele has also changed since we purchased here in 2014 and clearly the majority of guests are not owners here. All in all, the Westin is a black eye on St John…..which is otherwise a slice of heaven on earth
- Andrew (2/5): - We did not get our room cleaned every other day as they informed us. The front desk staff were slow. The room was dated and needed renovated, clearly see prior leaks, rusted lights…we were miles away from the pool although we did have a close by private pool which was good but needed TLC. Overall, the rooms were big and we were able to park out front. The golf carts were easily available to get around the property. The restaurant was close by but the bar was expensive. We didn’t spend much time at the resort as there were much better beaches on the island. Worst part was having to call for towels and coffee midway through as we had not received a room clean. The resort was ok but not worth the cost. Will do a villa next time.

We got stranded after a hike because staff told us the taxi would return to get us. When we told them what happened, a different staff person told us they dont control the taxis. The pool and beach area are beautiful, but we were very disappointed that guests were permitted to personal music systems very loudly at both locations. For a resort of this cost and caliber, we expected a more upscale experience. Also, the food at the restaurants was disappointing, even for a hotel, and lemongrass was terrible. Also, the hotel made no mention of the villa rooms being across the street, up an enormous hill and only accessible via golf cart thereby completely separating you from the amenities of the resort. The Westin has a monopoly on St John and could do better to elevate the experience of staying there.

Tile floor had chips in it, doorways into bathrooms were chipped and the door into the laundry closet came off the hinges when we opened it. Dark cabinets/dark fabrics. When we called Skorkels to order dinner…the guy at the bar (in the middle of my order) told me he was too busy, he had to deliver drinks to a table and I should call back. Really? At a Westin? Property really needs to be freshened up! Plus…I eat gluten free and would be nice to have some options at Mango’s Deli for breakfast. All breakfast sandwiches and pastries were not. GF pizza crust not available either.
- Curtis (6/5): - This resort is not the relaxing mecca it is portrayed to be. First off we were placed in a handicap accessible room with an odd floor plan. With a very few exceptions, the hospitality staff seem to be listless and bored to be there. There is one large pool and it is full of 8-12 year olds throwing balls across it bothering and intruding upon the relaxtion of adults. Nothing is included in the room price, but the room. Even social events at the pool area where by fee. It's like flying Spirit Airlines. The only restaurant that served breakfast was closed half the week. This only left a mini starbucks for breakfast. A meal at the outdoor restaurant came with a can of bug spray. Biting bugs were everywhere. The shuttle service within the resort was sketchy at best, Do your research before spending $600 a night to relax here. The bright spot is that the grounds were beautifully maintained. We won't return to this resort or any other Marriott owned resort.

- nancy (2/5): - The following was expressed in a e-mail to the General Manager. We have not had a reply. This was our first visit to the Virgin Islands and during our stay in St John we selected Westin based on its reputation. While the staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful, we experienced a significant level of miscommunication and a stay in what was described as an “out of service“ room. We were given the keys to the wrong room, sent to the wrong concierge, and missed a welcome packet. The room had a shower that was a pipe with no faucet, a toilet that constantly ran and a phone that didn’t work. We were offered a different room after I complained but we had unpacked and were taking a nap. The next day, the toilet was fixed then the handle broke. The shower was a major repair so was not done (there was a second shower and toilet). Staff did not communicate with one another so we were bothered 5 separate times about them coming to fix the darn toilet. We should have never been placed in that room. The staff should have communicated better and have more professional protocols.

We had a great vacation - despite feeling nickle and dimed- just good to know ahead what you’re getting into It’s a beautiful spot and St. John is awesome

- Anatoly (10/5): - Hotel sits on large, spacious grounds. There's a very nice beach with complimentary watersports, and a beautiful pool. There are lots of amenities: tennis courts, gym, bar cafe, etc, so there's plenty to do, even if you want to take it easy for a day and stay on the hotel grounds. When you want to go and explore the island, safari cabs are always on standby, and there's free parking for your rental car. Most rooms have beautiful views of the bay and the area, with fully equipped kitchens and balconies. There's a supermarket nearby, a couple hundred feet away, an easy walk. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the general ambiance is laid back, relaxing and tranquil. Rooms seem to sell out fast, so book it while you can.

The property should remove the signage about the spa, which was confusing because I understand the spa has been closed for a while. Finally, the maintenance staff should be sensitive to light sleepers because my husband and I were awakened one morning by power washing or something loud that was being done at 3am near our building.

- Tracy (8/5): - I love this property. This was my second visit. Everything is as seen on site. Majority of service staff is accomidating and very friendly. However, towel/pool service and front desk personnel are always combative, openly. Even hearing a women refuse popcorn to a child at the pool for not actuality watching the poolside movie. Seemed petty and outwardly agressivve at times. Cleanliness of grounds and rooms are superior. Restaurant and golf cart guys are the true winners on this property. Pool needs daily vaccuming. They get a daily cleaning, but more attention to detail could be had. Overall a great property and by far superior in the area. Work on service in the aforementioned areas, and it would be perfect.

- Verified traveler (10/5): StJ best of USVI: WSJ best on StJ. *Take passport - Unrivaled location on St John, which is much a different/ appealing island vs St T. Proper beach, simple access to a lot of very decent restaurants in Cruz Bay nearby - onsite dining was a bit more limited. We were there when resort was sold out, but it never felt crowded - loungers, kayaks everything easily available. Restrained, respectful and considerate atmosphere - both guests and staff. Clean, roomy accommodation well though out. We had 2-bed/2nd floor near pool area but was not noisy. Weather (mid-late March) was perfect. ** Leaving from STT airport to US, despite being mid-week, was a disaster, took hours. CBP literally left desks unmanned for 20 minutes at a time whilst a line hundreds of yards long snaked out and around the terminal - shame on them. To be honest, enough to put you off doing this trip at all. BUT, we now know- if you take your passport (I know is USVI and 'not needed') then there is a somewhat faster line - so TAKE YOUR PASSPORT. If you have Global Entry, there is an even faster line, but you MUST have the actual physical card with you.

So convenient, very easy to catch a cab anywhere on the island and they have a small market/deli on site which made things even more convenient. We stayed here for our honeymoon and will definitely be back!
- Thanh (10/5): - Great property and clean. Only thing I wish was better were the shower water pressure. Other than that, we loved it here. Great staff and greatly organized transportation system in place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Texas traveler - overall it was a good and had a good time staying at Westin except first day it was out of water for everything at night. After made couple calls, we were able to take a shower at fitness center. It didn't happen again and we did had a good time. Highly recommended this facility in St John.

- Halligan (8/5): - The rooms were awesome. The shuttle service between parts of the hotel was great. The taxis definitely extorted us and made up prices when the total cost was never supposed to be above $12/person or something close to that. Beautiful pool/beach

- Morgan (2/5): - I stayed at this property over Labor Say weekend. I had bed bugs in my room and provided pictures of the bites all over me. The hotel manager was very rude when she finally spoke to me 20 days after my checkout and did not resolve my complaint. Stay away from this hotel!!!
- Richard (6/5): - While the property and rooms are excellent, they have only one restaurant with a very limited menu. Do check your statement. Maybe a slip up, but one's suspicious when a restaurant charge appears that isn't one's own. They immediately corrected it when I inquired about it.
