Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): - Very nice welcome from Kenny, room clean and comfortable. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Room 1 does not have an en-suite, but there is a private bathroom along the corridor. Meaning if you need the loo in the night, you have to get dressed.
- Melissa (10/5): - Kind and helpful host with clear communication. Accommodating with breakfast times and our tour schedule. Room was well thought out and just what we needed.
- Maarja (10/5): - Lovely B&B, very clean, good location. Good breakfast. The rooms are small but you’d be spending most of the time out anyway!
- Allan (10/5): Excellent choice for stay in Inverness! - From the moment I arrived to the time I left, I couldn’t gave felt more welcomed and treated like a family guest in their home. Kenny, the host, is perfectly suited to his profession. The room was very clean, quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped. The breakfast served each morning was incredible. Made to order for each guest. It is only a short walk to downtown Inverness where you can find everything and anything. Do yourself a favor, stop looking for somewhere else to stay in Inverness. Just book Silverstrands now and you won’t need to stress about if you made the right choice.
- Barry (10/5): - Kenny & Dorothy keep the place immaculate. The rooms are very well appointed and the breakfast is fab. Easy 10-15 minute walk into town. Decent parking available too.
- Calum (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable stay in a spacious kingsize bedroom. Bathroom was large and very clean too. Very hospitable guest who was welcoming and accommodating with a very early well stocked continental breakfast due to the cycle event I was participating in.
Only minor critique would be the 10AM checkout, slightly earlier than other places and whilst an hour may not seem a lot, it could make a difference to some. Parking in the area might be tight if busy but permits were provided by the host.
- JENNIFER (10/5): - Kenny was a great host, funny, cheerful and very welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was filling and with so many options. The location is a short walk to the city center, it felt safe and was easy. Highly recommend.
- Charity (10/5): - Very cozy atmosphere. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room comfortable with en suite bathroom. All of the amenities we needed.
- Tara (10/5): 10+ - The Silverstrands Guest House provided us with our best stay while in Scotland. The hosts were very helpful and seemed to predict every one of our needs. Breakfast was DELICIOUS. They have several fresh cooked options and/or you can help yourself to a lovely variety of breakfast items including Greek yogurt, croissants, fresh fruits, toasts and cereal. In addition to the great breakfast, this guest house is just really comfortable. I am picky about cleanliness and this place was spotless. We would definitely stay here again!
- Margo (10/5): - Wonderful stay!! Kenny is a fantastic host, very friendly, easy walk in to town and all the sites. Great Scottish breakfast with other options available (toast, yoghurt, fruit, etc). 100% recommend!
- Deborah (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay … 10 min walking distance to The town of Inverness! Friendly and caring host. Fabulous cooked breakfast, this place is a real gem! Clean, safe and reasonably priced!
- Samantha (10/5): - Quaint little guest house in Inverness! Kenny was a wonderful host. Easily walkable to town.
- Jay (8/5): - Host was very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were tasty and provided plenty of options. Only improvement might be to a gathering space for groups staying at the B&B to enjoy time together.
- Alice (10/5): - Comfy and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay very much and especially how accommodating Kenny was with our early schedules. The area is quiet and peaceful. We would definitely return.
- Kristina (10/5): - We only booked one night here due to a flight being moved to the next day, but I wish we could have stayed longer. It is a nice property and the owner Kenny is great, very accommodating to our special requests with the early morning checkout to make our flight, and even booked the taxi for us. We would definitely recommend this property.
- David (10/5): - Very attentive, would definitely stay here again
- Terry (10/5): Terrific Inverness Stay - Superb accommodation and host. It was obvious that Kenny was well prepared in developing a comfortable and accommodating lodging and preparing guests for exploring the surrounding area.
- Steven (10/5): Awesome place and host - Amazing host! Wish we could have stayed another day and chat some more. Very delicious breakfast and beautiful area to stay in!
- Bill (10/5): - Kenny was a great host. Great location, we could walk everywhere. Excellent breakfast.
- VIVIEN (6/5): - Window broken, couldn’t close it
Kettle on a high broken shelf, risk of scalding
Carpet runner old not flat risk of tripping over
Shelves came out into room, sharp edges kept bumping into them
Toilet seat loose risk of slipping
No shelf to put toiletries in bathroom, but owners toiletries placed on toilet cistern, hygiene issues
- Sheila (10/5): Very warm welcome. - We stayed for one night. We received a lovely friendly welcome and were shown to our room. The room was immaculate and well equipped with everything we needed.
Breakfast was ordered in the evening so was served promptly in the morning. It was delicious and there was lots of choice.
If we are back in Inverness we'll certainly stay here again.
- Denis (10/5): incredibly helpful owner and amazing breakfast - Nice rooms, very clean, great location in short walking distance to the center. The owner was incredibly helpful and accommodating, the freshly cooked hot breakfast with a considerable buffet is far more than one could expect for a free one.
- Ali (10/5): Fabulous start to holiday - Clean, quiet property. Excellent breakfast and marvellous host. Nothing was too much trouble.
- Jocelyn (10/5): - Staying here was like being at home with lots of personal care and wonderful things to see! A shoutout to the owner, his breakfast’s were wonderful and his attention to the smallest details on where to go for entertainment made it a fantastic place to visit!
- Woodrow (10/5): Wonderful host; good location - Kenny welcomed us with a smile and good conversation. He had explained in an earlier email that the room was small, and he was correct. We did have a small room, but it was comfortable and clean, and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The breakfast was cooked to order and to perfection, with a good variety of options. The location was only a 10-15 minute walk from the middle of town while also having easy access to the main highway (A9) and the Culloden battlefield. On-street parking was available in front of the B&B and required a permit. The small, paper permit Kenny allowed us to use was attached to a plastic board about 4 feet by 3 feet as a reminder to return the permit upon departure.
- Colin (10/5): Excellent Guest House - Very clean and excellent service. Looking forward to a return visit.
- Andrea (10/5): - Wonderful guesthouse experience! Owner is very knowledgeable about the area and offered several very good suggestions for dining options that were wonderful!
- Patricia (10/5): - Kenny, our host, was very welcoming and friendly. The property is very well maintained and clean. It is a 10 minute walk into the city center. Bed was very comfortable, towels were the perfect size and thickness. The bathroom amenities were of good quality. There was a full breakfast offering of cold and hot food, fruits plus cheeses & yogurt in the fridge. This was one of our best stays during our Scotland trip.

- Felix (10/5): Amazing two night experience - Amazing two night experience. The host/owner was welcome in manner. Place is clean and tidy, breakfast was very good. Covid safety measures were encouraged and maintained throughout. I will definitely be booking again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The host was excellent, helpful and friendly.
Lovely place to stay!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic B&B. Fabulous host Kenny. You couldn’t wish for a nicer place to stay in Inverness. Very nice 10 minute walk to city centre. Breakfasts are fabulous.
- Charity (10/5): - My husband and I loved staying here. It was a cozy, lovely bedroom with private bathroom- very comfortable bed, nice shower. The breakfast every morning was delicious. You get continental plus a cooked Scottish/English breakfast. Kenny the owner is such a friendly man and served breakfast in the mornings. Also, it is an easy walk to most things in Inverness. Highly recommend!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Silverstrands is located in a lovely, quiet residential neighborhood in easy walking distance to downtown Inverness. The innkeepers were friendly and hospitable, going above and beyond when one in our party left behind a musical instument in the room. We were waiting at the train station when we looked up to see Kenny rushing toward us with the instrument in hand! Kindness and hospitality at its best!

- Noreen (10/5): - Small B&B with wonderful hosts. The host provided us with lots of helpful information. The facilities were clean & cheerful as well as comfortable. The breakfast was great & provided for extra needs like gluten-free. The walk to town center was about 10 minutes but be aware it is downhill. Overall it was a wonderful experience.
- R (10/5): - We stayed 3 nights and found it to be very good indeed. Only minor issue was that the room was a bit on the small side, but no faults whatsoever.

You are treated to a wonderful, plentiful breakfast, served by Kenny, looking dashing in his kilt. A booklet is provided in your room with Kenny's recommendations for restaurants and pubs, and his recommendations are spot on. I would recommend this property for a lovely stay in Inverness. - Doris (10/5): Loved Silverstrands - We stayed three nights and I cannot fault this accomodation. Kenny and Dorothy were so kind and welcoming. Every attention to detail in a pristine setting. An extensive choice of breakfast, fresh and plentiful
- mike (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Great location. Quicker to walk to town than to drive and find parking. Ken the owner was great. Would serve breakfast in a kilt. He was very knowledgeable about the area and wonderful to talk too. The room was good, the only drawback was the bathroom was a little small. If you’re a large person you’ll have trouble but other than that you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. If you’re in Inverness eat at the Fig & Thisel and Little Italy. Both very small but wonderful food. And yes I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
- Jeremy (10/5): Absolutely lovely - We loved this place! So sweet and comfortable. Kenny was very pleasant and cooked us a wonderful breakfast. He also was kind enough to book us a taxi on our way out. I recommend this place to anyone

- Kim (8/5): Super clean, friendly and helpful host - Great stay, innkeeper was great. Good breakfast and good location. Room was small but comfy.
