Guest Reviews
- Janka (8/5): -
- Janette (6/5): -
- Jaana K (8/5): Fun time. - The view was amazing It’s a bit tired and furniture and internals need a refresh.
- Catherine (8/5): Well equipped, clean and comfortable accommodation. - Two story two bed house, with all the facilities we needed. Property was good. We were in a unit at the back of the resort which lacked the amazing views of this at the front (and will try to get one of those next time), but our accommodation was well priced, well equipped, clean and friendly.
It’s a bit of a trek down up a hill from the beach but if you don’t have people with mobility needs it’s walkable, plus there are courtesy buses from the stradbroke hotel and next to bowls club some nights.
- Russell (9/5): A great stay apart from TV - We could not get the tv to work
- Louise (8/5): -
- Kylie (9/5): -
- Kez (10/5): -
- Brianna (10/5): - Excellent location! Everything was very clean, easily accessible and very friendly and accommodating staff.
- Julia (5/5): - Great location and beautiful views The complex is very dated and requires some maintenance and updating. The villa was fine, but again very dated and it need of a deep clean and refresh.
- Chris (8/5): -
- Shane (7/5): -
- Emma (7/5): Good if you get lucky with nice apparentment - Good views.
Location was great. Close to the beach, pubs and beach access for 4x4
Tennis court and pool (once the cleaner came and cleaned it 3 days in a row) We had a run down apparentment.
No aircon (every other apparentmenthad aircon), fridge was missing multiple door shelves, patio umbrella was broken (we texted the owners with photos and got no response)
Place was clean until you moved furniture (lots of dust)
Some lights didn't work including the front door light (not good for kids coming back from somewhere at night time) and loungeroom had some lights not working.
Not much serveware/ kid friendly plastic plates.
- Angie (9/5): A lovely stay, would recommend it. - The 2 storey unit 25 was clean and the owner went over and above to provide kitchen extras. The location was just what I was looking for, a unit overlooking the ocean. Home beach was about 800m-1km down the hill. We drove down to Home Beach, which was a lovely swim. Theres a tennis court and pool nearby. We didnt visit the bar for dinner as we took alot of great food ourselves none. It is an island so expect to pay a bit more for things
Also keep the door screens shut as the are wildlife around the unit like goanna, kangaroos, kookaburras
- Dean (7/5): -
- Kerry (2/5): Avoid at all costs. Choice somewhere else to stay. Not value for money. - At Point Lookout. No access to staff to gain another key or communicate with online or in person. Cockroach in the kettle had been there a long time. Cockroaches seen crawling around & evidence in the cupboards. Sheer curtains in bedrooms provided no privacy to the walkway with people walking past.
- Carmen (10/5): - Location, quiet, well furnished and clean

- Na (10/5): Nice and relaxing holiday stay on Straddle island - Ocean view properties, BBQ set up on the balcony, undercover car parking, easy check in and check out
- Madre (10/5): - Beautiful location, clean, all amenities that you would need to have a great holiday.
- Brigitte (9/5): Parfait !
- Caycee (9/5): -
- ARPIT (4/5): - We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa which had air conditioning available in only 1 of the rooms. It was so uncomfortable in the high humidity summer season. Also, there was no reception facility accessible to guests so can't even talk to anyone about any issues.
- Cheryl (1/5): -
- Emily (8/5): -
- Belinda (8/5): Great - Well equipped and lovely atmosphere
- Samira (5/5): Would only reccomend if you have no other choice - The villa is quite clean and tidy. The staff, although not present were responsive over text and were able to swap our villa to one with aircon as our initial one did not have any. Would not call this a "resort". It seems like a deserted resort which has been abandoned. We were there Sat-Mon and there were no staff present. The majority of the villas do not have aircon, so be careful!! They are ridiculously humid and in QLD weather not habitable. There are no food options available. The restaurant seems to have closed shop, never open and no close cafes - all within driving distance. It's in a random suburb on top of the hill, therefore will need a car.
The villa itself was very small, but we had to go to a 2 bedroom from the 3 bedder we booked for aircon.
Beds very uncofortable and need renewing.
Couch filthy with lots of stains. Did not want to sit on it without using my own blanket on top.
These are just some of the things I remember, all in all for a beautiful place like Straddie, would recommend somewhere else.
- Colleen (7/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): - Well set out villa. All good.
- David (9/5): Great host manager, had everything we needed except air con if staying in the hotter months. - Awesome location
Manager of resort was excellent at keeping me updated and instructions….always response. Great work I love the property and will definitely be bqck with my wife next time.
The only issue because she has MS is we need air con in the villa which i thought i was told was in the villa…for me and my brother the fans and breeze from the ocean was sufficient but we would need air con if i returned with my wife.
- Valda (9/5): - Exceptional view. Very comfortable unit. Well kept, well stocked, very clean. Quite and relaxing environment. Well kept gardens. Lovely to see wallabies right outside our unit. The one small issue we had was quickly attended to. Overall a truly wonderful place to stay in. Nothing.
- Sebastian (2/5): Really bad - The location We arrived at 3pm, but the place was still dirty. They told us there had been a problem with the housekeeper and asked us to leave until 5pm so they could clean. However, when we came back at 5pm, it was clear that they hadn’t cleaned properly at all — they had only changed the linen and done a bit in the toilet.
The BBQ was completely dirty, there were dirty plates still in the dishwasher, rubbish in the bin, hand and finger prints on the glasses, a long line of ants in the kitchen, and spider webs everywhere.
They told us that the manager would contact us and offer a good compensation, but that never happened. Nobody even came to apologize.
- Robetto (5/5): Fair - The Place was very nice and according to what we expected Before we left one of the female staff cleaners didn’t wanted to give us one toilet paper (we where provided with just 2 for a family of 5, for two nights ). She charged us 1 dólar for the toilet paper.
- Andrade (9/5): -
- Allan (9/5): Fantastic. Will come back. - Location was fantastic Nothing
- clayton (8/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): Awesome stay. - It was great part of straddie. The view was amazing on the hill. Saw whales breaching every day. If you have no car, there is a big to walk up from the beach.

- Ruth (8/5): -
- Grace (9/5): Beautiful place. Good for excercise - Beautiful place. The 3 brm villa was nice. All bedrooms are down stairs. Living room, kitchen and dining are located upstairs. Loved that all 3 bdrms have its own access to the court yard. The roseby court was amazing. Loved the Big rooms, big kitchen big veranda. Loved that I have to forced myself to exercise up and down the hill. Electric fans only. the roseby court don’t have any flyscreens. The mosquitoes were thick at one point during sunset. We had to close all the windows and doors. We were feeling very hot and closed-in. It would nice if there was enough support for the restaurant and bar to be open. The layout looked enticing.
- Bruce (6/5): Stay was fine but very tired resort! - Easy, convient The resort is very “tired”.
List of things needing maintenance / repairs in unit #21.
Leaky tap in outside courtyard.
Towel rail in bathroom.
Locks on screen doors
Umbrella on deck needed replacing years ago!
- Scott (9/5): Relax at Straddie - The staff was amazing. There was a problem with their managed property at Roseby Ct and they rectified this by upgrading to a magnificent Unit within the resort itself 36. The views were outstanding (whales inuded). 2/3 Roseby Ct needed a complete makeover. Once shown this the staff at the Resort who manage this accomodation only upgraded us and I cannot be grateful enough. The resort unit was clean, spacious and the views were amazing.
- PAUL (7/5): Average - Bed No free to air TV, parking difficult for large 4WD, very limited sea view as unit was behind roof of convention centre
- Manuel (6/5): Good view! Bad review! - The view was really nice. Great top of the hill position. The tennia court looks good by the way. The place was not correcty cleaned and all the kitchenware and utilities were super old and torn. Need to pay attention to these details since it is really bad for a visitor to be cleaning the place from day one. This details are easy to fix.
The barbacue was rusty and the oven was old as well. The dishwasher was't cleaning the dishes when used. These utilities might be harder to repllace but worth it, because of the view. The couch would also need a cleanup, with all the white pillows that looked yellowed. We found cockrouches.
- Jo (5/5): Disapppinting - 3 bedroom apartment not far from wedding venue we were attending - apartment was nice The apartment wasn’t actually part of the resort and as such we did not have access to resort facilities. Bit of false advertising on their part. Be careful when booking as you may not actually be staying in the resort.
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Jacki (6/5): Great location, but Villa needs some love. - Great location with ocean views. The property is in a great location and the pool and tennis court were a great bonus. However the villa was a little tied and needs some love (for what you pay for it). The beds were very hard, the couches were so low to the ground you had to get onto the floor to get off. There was a few things within the house that needed maintenance (dripping tap, lights not working, rusted furniture, toaster and hair dryer not working well).
- Thevikarani (9/5): Great - NA Could have a playground
- Belinda (3/5): -
- Yantong (8/5): -
- NICHOLAS (10/5): - What a majestic setting and wonderful stay we had at Pandanus. From before we arrived, the onsite Personnel clearly informed us of our stay, the features and even provided a island map with advice. Room were clean, large and amenities iseal to rest and relax. With a feont deck and courtyard breakfast and dinners were spent with views of the ocean and sounds of the local fauna.. a must stay!
- Sonja (7/5): OK-isch - The island is great! The location was, large and clean but could use a touch-up as it is quite outdated.
The check in did not go well. We had to wait 80 min before we could reach somebody who finally did bring the key.
- Tracy (7/5): - The view was spectacular
Bed was clean and comfortable The resort was very dated, pool was dirty and uninviting, no resort facilities were available apart from tennis, it's not operating as and doesn't have the facilities to be called a resort. The unit was a bit grubby and you get charged if you don't wash and put away crockery etc, this meant that we had to rewash all the utensils and crockery that we planned to use on arrival due to previous guest poor cleaning, things were sticky and overcrowded in the unit and quite dated, it was like going back to a 1980s motel. Signs of warning on the walls about extra charges if you don't comply with cleaning, putting furniture back in original position etc were annoying. The views saved it.
- John (7/5): - Nice modern 2storey Townhouse located on top of hill overlooking beach near the Tavern Has spacious modern bathroom n open planned upstairs kitchen lounge n dining area with large deck with BBQ. Close by car to Point Lookout cafes, The Pub, n the Cliff Top n Gorge walks. Location definitely requires a vehicle as very hilly. The things that annoyed were small yet detracted from our stay. Curtains in bedroom gossemer thin allowing early morning light. No substances to pillows therefore hard to get comfortable n sleep. Cleanliness of couch n the bannister needed attention.
- James (10/5): - Excellent views, comfortable rooms, great kitchen. Handy to everything at point lookout.
- Susie (8/5): - Good location, with lovely views. Great value, although the apartment was pretty dated. Also note that the resort is not walking distance to the beach. The oven and most of the crockery and cutlery was not clean and had to be washed before we could use it
- Cherryl Sachs (10/5): Very good - N/A N/A
- Shais01 (10/5): -
- Glenn (9/5): Fantastic apartments in a gorgeous place. - Lovely property in a lovely place. Had everything we needed for a quiet getaway. People were lovely too. As advertised there was an incline to the property from town / beach. This was no problem for us and was not an issue but may be an inconvenience for elder visitors without transport.
- Fiona (6/5): Beautiful beaches, great cafe, sensational walks. - The upstairs was comfortable, clean with glimpses of the ocean. I did book an ocean view room- but we were put in the middle row so a whole other block of apartments blocking the view. Every time you wanted to go somewhere you had to use the car. Location was fine just be mindful it’s a hike from Point Lookout. I booked this property for my sister and I as a break. It was two bedroom. I booked one room with a queen and the other with two single beds. We were given a bunk bed and one queen. My 50 year old sister squeezed into the bunk bed. Also the unit had a cat flap. I did not book a pet friendly apartment.
- Hannah (3/5): - It felt unclean, kitchen cupboards were musty smelling, there was a lack of common kitchen items, such and paper towels, oil and only one tea towel for a three day stay. The door handles feel off at least two doors. There was not appropriate warm bedding for a winter stay. For the amount we paid it was disappointing. I didn’t personally see any staff but communicated over messages and they were friendly to communicate with and offered us late checkout and early check in which was great.
- Michael (8/5): Anniversary - Good value for money.
Nice views and 5 minute drive from Point Lookout attractions.
- Alyson (8/5): -
- Jane (7/5): Comfortable, chilled and relaxing - Nice out look Decor and amenities bit dated in unit 5. Be great if restaurant was open. That reflects bit on straddy not quite humming as it once was 10 years ago
- Dinushika (8/5): -
- Zara (8/5): Beautiful views, relaxing stay. - The view is fabulous, sunrise and sunset was enjoyed from the balcony. Nice thick blankets were provided for the winter and plenty of dishwasher tablets were appreciated!
Great communication so we could just turn up and pick up the key!
- Perinise (9/5): Amazing - Location
Facilities
- Kennedy (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic View, Great Kitchen, Large Clean Shower, Enjoyed using the tennis court, close access to a number of beaches and the rest of point lookout attractions Couldn't get streaming services to work on the TV
- Raelene (8/5): Girls Weekend - Nice size. We stayed in winter, however it had all the facilities you would need for warmer weather - pool, tennis, etc. Clean & tidy. Too far from shops, restaurants. Must have a car. No toilet upstairs. Bed was not very comfortable. Villa had very little view of the beach - unlike we thought.
- Kim (9/5): Superb - This is a return visit for us. The unit over 2 levels is spacious and comfortable. The area for the resort is extremely hilly and could be difficult with people with mobility issues
- Christopher (6/5): Pleasant - Great layout. Living areas upstairs and sleeping downstairs. Blankets should have been cleaned. Couch needed cleaning too.
- Junwu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (6/5): We were all close to each apartments which was ideal - Musty smell in the apartment and needs updating
- Samantha (7/5): Good -
- Patricia (5/5): Passable - Restaurant was closed - we didn't know ahead of time. There was no towel in the toilet room. The start up kit was minimal and found that one has to purchase toilet paper after the 2 rolls were used. There was 3 people there for 6 nights, toilet paper should be a necessity.
- Val (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (9/5): The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation had everything you needed to be self sustaining. Stradbroke - Spacious, everything you need and location. Everything was great.
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good -
- Roopa (7/5): Great stay with beautiful views! - I loved the location facing the ocean with amazing scenic views and a chill atmosphere. The place was very clean and we were glad to get the opportunity to play tennis and swim around the pool too. There were not enough toilet paper rolls. We were 3 guests staying for 3 days and we were provided just 2 rolls altogether for the entire stay. For the amount we paid, one can expect at least a few more without having to pay extra to collect from the reception. Also, there should have been a mirror in the bedrooms, either affixed or standing alone. The bedrooms are incomplete without them and we have to keep going to the bathroom for it.
- Karyn (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional views from the villas!!!
- Jonathan (6/5): Nice location, filthy unit, tired common facilities. - Positives: awesome views over cylinder beach. Tennis court and pool looked in reasonably good condition.
Negatives: unit wasn’t left in a clean state when we arrived. The pots and pans in the cupboard still had oil, food, popcorn kernels inside. The BBQ was absolutely filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. Heaps of cockroaches in the unit - we were there for 2 nights and had 4-5 cockroaches in the time running around the house, including inside the dishwasher! The board games and books in the bookshelf also had cockroach nests and cockroach poo all over them which was rather disgusting. The restaurant was closed - we thought it looked like it might be permanently closed, and also looked like it has been abandoned for some time. Overall the entire property looks pretty run down
- Mariet (10/5): Exceptional view! - We had the most amazing experience at the resort. Our self-catering unit had everything you could possibly need. It was spacious, had a "beach vibe" and the sea view from our unit was exceptional. We will definitely stay there again in the future.
- Belinda (4/5): Great location, disappointing accommodation - The only thing that justified this stay as three stars was the view/location. The staff were helpful and quick to respond when issues were raised (mouldy and broken items), but the state of the 'villa' was two star at best. It was not clean, the shower, fridge, kitchen amenities and toilets were in poor condition.
In terms of facilities, the 'resort' restaurant was not functional during our stay, but the tennis court was a welcome activity.
This place has lots of potential, but the small details have been overlooked.
