Guest Reviews
- Debbie (2/5): Awful - Literally how this can be considered a 3* is beyond me! Literally filthy, my daughter has stayed in hostels that werent this bad. The window was stuck, the smoke alarm was sellotaped over which i had to stand on a chair to remove. We cudnt even unpack anything because the furniture, carpets etc were so bad we didnt want our stuff on it. The pic on your booking thing is not what this place is like. I will not ever book through you again. This place needs taking off your site. I have got loads of photos of the place but when i press add photo it doesnt let you add it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Beds were broken and very uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Price & location. Very dated but done the job would stay again.
- Errol (8/5): Excellent Customer service - After seeing the room originally book and finding out the window did not open. Bob at the reception desk rectify the problem by up grading me to a better room which was better equipped, bigger, clean, and comfortable that met the standard expected. He also gave me a little extra time for checking out which I really appreciated and for that reason I would recommend the hotel for anyone on a budget for an overnight stay.
- Adam (2/5): Looked like a drug den - We did not even leave the car to enter this so called hotel. On arrival there was people drunk drinking cans of beer on the entrance to the building. The canopy was full Of Massive holes and very dirty looking. Did not look like a safe environment for a family so we searched elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Positives: About Clean linen. Staff friendly. Bargain for a one night stay.
Negati
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid - Terrible hotel. Ended up leaving and staying somewhere else. The place is falling apart. One room didnt even have curtains
- Tommy (10/5): 4 out off 5 - Well I opened the Curtains in the morning and it Fell down and it hit my face which left a read mark on my Nose
- Verified traveler (2/5): Nice staff terrible room - Terrible. Although the staff were nice we had a broken toilet our whole stay, WiFi didn’t work once we booked the hotel because it said they serve breakfast but they don’t and to top it off the tv was the size of a laptop. Rather then moving us to a different room we had to walk down two flights of stairs to use there public bathroom even though I paid for a private one. When I complained about it all they gave me an email to send for a refund so I’ve emailed them asking about a refund and have yet to hear back. Ruined my 1 year wedding anniversary.
- chris (8/5): - quite enjoyed my stay, hardly a room with a view but there you go.
- Matt (10/5): - Nice and cheap
- aarunas (2/5): only price good, but no peking ,no toilet paper, bad - hi. there no parking, toilet no paper, hotel charge same 2 payments,
,i told is it paid, but was charge second time. my family no happy!
- Carl (4/5): Never again. Dirty & smelly - Dirty & dated, didn't even stay, its joined to Maermar where I stayed previously and is really smelly & dirty. Lost money as they wouldn't cancel so I left this review.
- Verified traveler (2/5): It's all terrible - This place is a dump
- paul (2/5): AVOID!!! - Tatty, grubby and unwelcoming. Only one curtain in the room instead of a pair so barely covered the window. One small sachet of shower gel in room that was only replaced once in three days. Noisy music from the bar. Most staff rude, unhelpful and surly. Breakfast time experience a total disgrace. Probably my worst ever stay at a hotel or guest house.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good but can improve. - Excellent price, friendly staff, clean facilities, lift. My only concern was the bed mattress (very old sprung) a bit uncomfortable to sleep.
- Carole (2/5): Worst hotel in Bournemouth - The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel was undergoing building works. The bathroom was awful. The room was dirty and never cleaned properly the whole time we stayed there just the bed made and towels changes after 3 days. Breakfast was non existent and we had to go to a local cafe as their was hardly any food on offer and no staff to find out if there was anymore only 4 croissants for all the guests. Would never stay here again.
- Mike (8/5): Wouldn’t rush back - The place looked untidy. We were confused, as the entrance to the hotel was actually the hotel next door (and a shared reception), but only because the glass was broken on the front door.
Room was a good size, although victim to obvious water leaks at some point. Decor felt like visiting Grandmas house.
Only other thing to note was the kitchen managed to burn toast, which made the whole building stink for hours...
- PETER (6/5): - Room was good value but floorboards very creaky could hear the people in the next room talking and moving around until 4am when we finally got to sleep. We moved to a ground floor room the next day and that was more spacious but still noisy floorboards
- Verified traveler (8/5): - More property maintanance, lack of car packing space, A bit of furniture review.
- Gordon (4/5): You get what you pay for 😡 - Never stayed in a hotel that I needed to sign a damage waiver and key loss form. Won’t be staying there again.
- Pablo (4/5): - My room was far away from those showed in the photos.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Double bed in the bedroom was made up of two single beds put together and they were not the correct size so uncomfortable night sleeping
+
Stated free breakfast did not say continental but when they have a picture of a cooked breakfast you expect a cooked breakfast
- Pradeep (8/5): - Best budget hotel in Bournemouth, close all the essential services. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely visit again.
- Michelle (10/5): Comfortable, budget, GREAT value for money - Extremely comfortable stay, very clean room. Comfortable bed, great pillows, clean bathroom, good size room. Hot water, comfortable temperature. Fantastic continental breakfast. What great budget value for money! will definitely be back
- Chelsea (8/5): - Staff polite, room clean but bulb broken in bedroom. Would have slept well if other guests were considerate .
- Elliejo (8/5): - I was very scared to stay after reading the reviews but when we got there I was surprised ... it was clean and tidy, we only stayed for 1 night but had all the essentials we needed, only thing I would say is that the double bed is 2 singles pushed together and 1 of the beds were broken so we sank
- robert (8/5): Hotelier of over 40 years opinion - Clean room bedding and towels, mattress tired ready for replacement, poor tv reception and intermittent wi fi connection en suite shower powerful and room heating effective, well located for centre of town, a £30 room with simple breakfast seems fair value for a short stay
- Mark (2/5): Turd on the stairs - Awful awful awful cold shower broken bed hot fizzy drinks and water sold at reception broken lift completely disgusting
- James (2/5): - If you like 1970's decor then this is the place, no, only joking you would not this this place. Rude staff, no parking generally run down. Ordered a double room and ended up with 4 singles. Curtains didn't close properly and breakfast was vile **DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE**
- Christine (4/5): A Place to Avoid - Of all the hotels in which I have stayed when visiting Bournemouth this was definitely the worst. It is more an inferior bed and breakfast than a hotel. The only interest shown was when I first arrived to make sure I paid for my accommodation immediately. I was given my key but then had to ask directions to the room. I returned to reception a short while later for the Wi-fi code and was told it was on the notice on the wall at the reception desk. This could have been pointed out to me when I first checked in. There was no information about the "hotel" available in the room, and when I went to find out where they served the 'light bites' mentioned on their website I couldn't find anyone. In fact the whole placed seemed deserted and was extremely quiet. My room was extremely basic, the bed was uncomfortable, the tea/coffee making facilities consisted of a cup, saucer, teaspoon, kettle, one tea bag, one sachet of coffee and some sachets of sugar. As I was there for 2 nights this was totally inadequate. Breakfast was a choice of cereals, fruit juice, toast, butter, jam, tea or coffee plus hard boiled eggs and croissants. There were hardly any other guests in the dining room on either of the 2 mornings I was there. Parking was on the road outside the building so finding a space was pot luck. I would definitely NOT recommend staying at this "hotel" when visiting Bournemouth
- James (2/5): Unhappy stay 😂 - Not worth the stay, bed very uncomfortable/rooms need new beds, room needs updating and breakfast was average, not a friendly place will not stay here again .
- David (4/5): - stayed 3 nights, towels changed once, bin not emptied at all .
tea/coffee not replenished (only enough for one cup each)
toilet paper ran out on second day.
In house bar not open, asked why, did not get a proper answer but was told we can open to get you some drinks but then it will close again so needless to say we never bothered.
sorry, dont like moaning but we wont stay there again.
- nigel (8/5): Ok for a few nights.but tired looking inside. - The hotel was clean, breakfast really good beds comfy, but needed replacing, changed sheets and towel every day, but rooms although clean, looked very tired, and needed completly redecorating, furniture in room, cheap and not so cheerfull, but still did the job..car parking was first come first serve, not really there fault, but need to be aware, as its £10 per night in local car park.
- Martin (8/5): Nice hotel close to the town center & beach. - Nice location for getting to the town center etc lots of places to eat very good public transport system.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - An ideal place to stay for long days out. The town centre and beach are close by, and a short bus journey will take you to most places nearby in short time and little expense.
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst place I’ve have ever stayed in I don’t k - I left my own pillow on the bed when we left I rang them the same day and they said they hadn’t got it. This was a absolute lie it was a memory foam one that was expensive so they stole it
- Joseph (6/5): VFM - Great for the price. Room good quality and good breakfast
- Disappointed (4/5): Not a hotel - a disappointing student hostel! - On arrival we were given the key to a double room on the 3rd floor. We had to sign a 'contract' confirming that we would not damage the beds or other furniture or make too much noise!
We used the lift - an old goods lift with gates that slammed closed dangerously. In the room we found the toilet cistern with two long cracks that had obviously been there for some time as limescale had collected on the outside but not enough to stop the water leaking on to the floor. The sink was filthy with a black ring of scum all around it.
We reported the issues and a member of staff said the cleaner had not cleaned the sink properly. We were moved to a family room with 4 beds on the first floor for our stay.
This place has been so neglected with old carpets, chipped paintwork everywhere and dusty, unclean mirrors, doors and windows.
- martin (8/5): - Hotel was all we expected for what we paid
Clean room - clean beds
Breakfast was good value as included in price
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No check in time specified, TV remote didn't work, room not cleaned when we checked in but was moved to new room straight away.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Bit of a delay on check in, 30 minute wait but Gentleman on reception explained he was on his own when normaly would be 2 persons.Room was nice and comfortable. No problems asking for extra coffee, milk in the morning.Very nice buffett style breakfast in the morning. All in all a good stay.
- melanie (4/5): Glendevon - Hotel was clean, no parking - had to park right down the road in a car park and pay, when I rang them in advance they said they was free street parking, this was correct but no spaces. Was woken at 1.30 on Saturday night with loud speaking and a piano playing in the bar. This stopped and then started again at 3am - so sleep was very poor on Saturday night. Only get one sachet of body wash even though I was there two nights. Also I was actually staying in the hotel next door (that's what the room key said) not the one I booked.
- Randy (4/5): rude front desk - the receptionist rude
- Craig (10/5): - Does the job. Nice and clean and the guy that checked me in was nice.
- Debora (8/5): Better than we expected! - We expected a much worse hotel, but it wasn't bad at all! The property is old and our room wasn't very big, but it was clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was really poor, but enough for just 1 day. The location is really good (5 min walking distance to the city centre). Cheap and nice stay overall.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Awful hotel - the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and at £90 a night I could have cried when I saw the state of the room. The photo does not do it justice for how bad it was. The dated carpet was filthy, the amenities where awful, the tea and coffee were repulsive. The toilet didn't look like it had ever been cleaned and out shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot which the staff knew about before they or us in the room
- m (4/5): Its not for me. - Shabby run down and ridiculously hot . not a nice place to be..but was clean and shower was good one night was enough.for me.so would not recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very basic - Pretty basic hotel, I feel a little overpriced to be honest, beds were super comfy, old fashioned lift which was a bit scary!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - not good
