- Adrian (10/5): Quiet, comfortable and affordable 10/10 - I have no words to express how pleased we were with this place. The hotel was located far enough from the Center to be peaceful and quiet and close enough to walk 5 mins and be downtown. Room was extremely comfortable with a beautiful small balcony facing the beautiful garden. The lady in charge and the cook lady were just fantastic host and prepare delicious breakfast. 10/10 Everything was perfect
- Emma (10/5): Infinitamente agradecidos!!!

Chambre spacieuse. Hôte accueillante.
- Bruce (10/5): -
- Tammy (10/5): A wonderful little hotel to stay in! - Extremely comfortable bed and the staff is top rate! Hot shower and we liked being a little further from the hub-bub of town.
- Lucio (7/5): -

The proprietor was kind and helped me several times with questions and requests. The room was very simple and the mattress was hard as a rock, but overall not bad at all.
- Alex (4/5): - The breakfast The room isn't worth the price

- Ana (8/5): - The room was confortable and clean with a nice balcony overlooking the forest. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful to keep you going all day. The hotel sits high on a hill with parking and an easy walk down to the center of town. Copan Ruins are just a few minutes away, flag a Tuctuc to take you.
- Samuel (10/5): - Wonderful staff! Pastora is a great cook and housekeeper always helpful and there to serve everyone with a smile! Gracias doña Blanca for a wonderful hospitality!
- Janet (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay! Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. We appreciated the - Beautiful hotel right in Copan Ruinas, very walkable to restaurants.
- Eduardo (10/5): - The area was great. The breakfast was amazing.
- Vogelsang (10/5): I would visit this hotel again. - The property was very clean. The breakfast was good. The owner was very friendly and gave great suggestions for places to visit.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Best hotel I stayed in during my 12 days in Honduras. Kind host, nice-sized room, beautiful views from the balcony, and a great location only a few minutes from the center of town.
- Melissa (10/5): - The property is one of kind. The building itself is beautiful and all the plants and greenery is so unique.
The owner, Ms. Blanca, was so kind to us. Was available to us at all times.
- Natalia (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay at Hotel La Escalinata recently. Blanca the owner was very friendly and keeps up with current events. I enjoyed talking to her. We had an issue with the AC one night but it was quickly fixed. I will stay at this hotel next time I visit Copán Ruinas. Also the view from the room was nice.
- Alejandro (9/5): I would stay here again for sure. Very kind services and excellent breakfast. - Kind service and excellent breakfast.
- Alfredo (5/5): Passable -
- Robert (10/5): - Blanca, the owner is an excellent host. She prepared us delicious breakfast, and the room was very clean and you feel at home.
She us very friendly and we had very nice conversations with her. We totally recommend this hotel and has a beautiful scenery like a postcard!
- carlos (10/5): - Friendlyness of hotel owner and staff , beds and rooms are tidy kept it was a good invironment full of peace and farm sensation with roosters singing in the afternoon and mornings
. , and copan ruinas is a unique place to visit and lovely experience on hotsprings like not other
i recommend this hotel to anybody
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - This is a gem of a small hotel. Blanka is friendly and accommodating, breakfast is excellent (and changes daily), and the view from the breakfast patio is beautiful. If you can get one of the two balcony rooms, you can enjoy the view all the time! The garden area is also nice and provides shade on hot afternoons. It's a short walk from the hotel to the center. That said, Copan Ruinas's cobblestone streets are steep, so be prepared to walk up and down a lot. If the hills get to you, you can always catch at tuk-tuk for 20 lempiras. The hotel wi-fi is reliable and drinking water is always available. My bathroom was clean and well lighted, there was plenty of space to hang clothes, and the a/c worked well. The only thing I missed in my room was a desk and chair.
- John (9/5): Basic Accommodation but Very Comfortable in a Great Location - I was concerned that this hotel may be a little far from the center of town and too far away to walk to the Copan Ruins. It turns out that the location is perfect. It is a couple of blocks from the center, but that is a good thing. The center of town is absolute chaos in the evenings with tuk-tuk's and motorbikes screaming up and down the streets. La Escalinata is located just far enough away that it is nice and peaceful at night, but close enough to the center that you can walk to the restaurants in just a few minutes. I also easily walked to the Copan ruins from the hotel in about 20 minutes. On the way back, it is uphill, but you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you back for just $1-$2 if you prefer.
The air conditioning worked well and there was ample hot water for the shower. I'm not sure why, but I slept like a rock at this place! It was very quiet at night and the bed was comfortable. I was located at the back of the building and the view of the hills, jungle, and sunset in the evenings from my little attached balcony was beautiful!
Finally, the kind lady who runs the hotel is a wealth of information about the area and even had good recommendations for places to visit elsewhere in Honduras. I enjoyed talking with her very much. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay. If I was forced to suggest an improvement it would be to add a small table or additional shelving to the room to make it a little easier to unpack your things.
- Cassandra (10/5): - Great place to rest
- Belinda (8/5): I’d be happy to return! - Walking distance to center of town and restaurants.
Good portions served at breakfast.
Attentive, friendly staff.
Clean and tastefully decorated. Buildings seemed to amplify sounds. Ear plugs help.
- Don (10/5): - What a nice little hotel this was! I stayed here with 5 family members recently on a visit to Copan Ruinas. The room was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary traditional breakfast was made fresh each morning and was delicious. Many thanks to the owner Blanca who was very accommodating and even waited up until 1:00 AM to check us in after bad traffic from Tegucigalpa turned our 8 hour drive into a 15 hour one. Offering a low room rate, great service and a great location make this a recommended stay for me.
- Said (9/5): I enjoyed it - TThe stuff was so kind and helpful I stayed in Escalitana hotel to visit Copan Ruinas,, over all, things were great, The breakfast was delicious the balcony and restaurant view was amazing , I can say is ok fora short stay.
- Francie (9/5): Great place to stay at an affordable price for a family of 4. - Blanca, the owner of the hotel took care of her guests. She gave recommendations how we can get to and from places we want to go and visit. Breakfast was included in our stay. We did not have the same meal during our stay. We had delicious homemade and filling breakfast daily. The room was big and spacious enough for 4 people. The location of the hotel is convenient that everything in city proper is within 5-minute walking distance.
- Frisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edwin (10/5): Exceptional - The staff's attention. The breakfast is also amazing.
- Ramon (10/5): - Excelente ubicacion y servicio
- Rachel (8/5): Good value that allowed us to enjoy a last minute trip to Copan. - Breakfast was nice, and I'm glad it was a different menu the two mornings we spent there. Although the location was a little far from downtown, it was still within walking distance, which was nice. I also loved the balcony from the room. The beds were not super comfortable, but otherwise we had no complaint that could actually be fixed by the hotel. For example, power went out city-wide the last night, which meant no A/C and no wifi. Luckily, power came on before bed, so we were able to sleep under cooler conditions, but there isn't anything the hotel could have done to prevent that. I would suggest, however, getting a back-up battery for the wifi router. My daughter would have appreciated having that to do while the electricity was out. The only other thing is that I wish the hotel was closer to downtown, but there is no way to remedy that.
- Abraham (10/5): - La comida estuvo súper bien.
- Pozzo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgia (10/5): Great location for Copán - Great property and super helpful owner. Good breakfast included to fill up before you visit Copán! Property has parking which is useful.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (8/5): Very good - Lovely checkin and the kind host waited for me on the last bus of the night! Comfortable beds and linen. The hill you have to trudge to walk to the hotel. Balcony is very small in the room, but the view is very nice.
- Jean (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful host. Beautiful views. Room was very clean and comfortable.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Stay here if it’s available! - Amazing! wonderful hotel atop hill with multi levels overlooking hilly tropical forest view with cicadas singsonging away from our private balcony. With best beds I’ve slept in for a long while woke refreshed to strong hot shower and delicious breakfasts (and strong great Honduran coffee) on the hotel patio. I did yoga in the morning in another garden area! Fast wifi. Really liked host - kind and made it look easy getting us booked to La Cieba - which was nearly impossible according to all the blogs.
- Jacquie (8/5): Nice place with good breakfast - The room had a great view from the small balcony. The breakfast was varied each day, the staff were available but obtrusive. Few minutes walk from the main square but nice and quiet (as is most of Copán Ruinas at night). Comfortable large beds. Fan and a/C to chose from. The room felt a bit small because you couldn't see the balcony door from the beds.
- Natasha (10/5): Little gem of a hotel - The hotel is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the staff made us feel very welcome. The breakfast so plentiful and delicious! And the view from the back deck is breathtaking
- Joseph (7/5): Perfect for a short stay in Copán Ruinas. Just what we needed and expected. - This is a small boutique hotel located high on the edge of town. An easy walk to the town square. The included breakfast was adequate to get the day going. Friendly staff. The owner is on site. The bathroom needed remodeling.
- Rami (10/5): Comfortable stay in Copan - Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms.
The hotel is on a small hill and our room had nice views from the small balcony.
It’s within a short walking distance from the main plaza (you have to climb the hill on the way back or take a taxi).
- Rherna22 (8/5): Very good - Stuff was friendly and attentive. Gorgeous courtyard and decor. Will return. Strong raid smell in the room, beds and pillows were very, very firm and not confortable.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Giovanna (10/5): Exceptional - The atmosphere of the place was fabulous! Is quite, peaceful and you can hear the birds. The breakfast was delicious! Is a must have
- Kati (8/5): Very good - A lot of potential in this place. The room was a bit outdated and needs to be refurbished.
Nice breakfast
Good location
Best pillows during our five week trip.
- Anne-sophie (7/5): Good - it's simple and effective Breakfast
- Simon (10/5): Close to the centre lovely relaxed environment with great showers - Great showers and lovely views lovely traditional breakfast.
- Clifford (9/5): Superb -
- Carlos (10/5): Excellent - The staff was very helpful and kind
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Copan Ruinas is a quiet town and this hotel fits in. The lady who met us was quiet but very helpful and always ready to answer our questions. The house has the most beautiful garden. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We also got a sandwich on the last day for breakfast as we had an early departure. The hotel is up a steep hill but it takes only 3-5 minutes to walk up. If you take the side road it is much less steep. The restaurants and bars are all close by.
- Florence (10/5): - Gorgeous property in a quaint town. The owner must be a plant enthusiast-the patio and surrounding area of the property were gorgeously done. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend.
- David (7/5): All that you need - Great breakfast. Helpful and nice host. Good views and common areas. Good shower. Ability to use fridge in kitchen. A bit of a walk up hill from centre. Room was a bit small.
- Grete (10/5): - Super friendly staff. Very clean, comfortable beds for restful sleep. Loved the garden and room balcony and mountain views with trees and birds!
- Jonathan (6/5): - Definitely did not live up to the property ratings on Expedia.
Massively overpriced for what is essentially a basic property. Rooms were adequate but very basic, albeit clean.
The property is adequate (2.5 stars) with the back terrace and breakfast service bringing it up to 3 stars.
- Caro (10/5): Exceptional - Blanca is a very attentive lady who make you feel at home..
- Jim (10/5): I felt right at home. - Blanca was a very supportive owner and helped me greatly when I needed help at the border. Thanks Blanca I will return.
- Patricia (10/5): - Good sized basic room, very clean and with good quality bedding. Private balcony with lovely views and a nice patio sitting area. Excellent breakfast. Convenient for the centre. Really good value.
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Ronen (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (8/5): Very good - Cleanness, view, confort There were not shampoo in the bathroom .
- Willial (8/5): Very good -
- Mathieu (8/5): Very good - Good breakfast, quiet location, clean rooms
- Cristhian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Great little hotel! Clean! - This hotel is very clean. The views from the balcony are gorgeous. The owner and staff are helpful and flexible. The breakfast was different each of the three days and all were tasty. Most importantly, the hotel was quiet at night and we slept well. It's just a couple blocks off the main square (and if you don't want to walk you can easily get a TukTuk). We really liked it, but if there were one thing, it would help to have a place (besides the floor) to put bags.
- Miriam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriela (10/5): - Amazing host and great breakfast provided
- Travelspirit9 (9/5): Excellent experience! - An absolutely lovely little hotel with incredible views, a kind and helpful host, and superb breakfast. Walk to restraunts with great good. Los Asados was excellent!
Close to the Copan Ruins site where we spent the day. Copan is an ancient town and has narrow cobblestone streets. Although this aspect is very quaint it is also a bit more difficult to navigate in a car. Park the car and walk!
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (8/5): Goed place, nice people - Goed Nothing
- Eiron (10/5): - Blanca was amazing she went above and beyond to help she made our reservations at luna jaguar, recommended a great restaurant cafe via via, and was nice enough to let us put my father in laws insulin in the fridge. The room waa very clean and it was a great price i think we had the best room with a balcony in the front 😊 AC worked very well and my favorite HOT water! Almost stayed at Hacienda San Lucas but im glad we didn't this hotel is in a very good area with easy walking access to restaurants and stores with typical honduran clothing, purses, jewelry, etc. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Is a really good place, the rooms are clean, comfortable beds, good views, the attention is excellent, delicious breakfast. If I go back to Copan ruins, I no doubt to stay in LA escalinata.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staying here with an excellent choice. Ms. Escobar's hospitality was excellent, always attentive to our needs. She is very kind lady. Highly recommend and I will come again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The sheets on one bed were dirty, they had a bad smell of pipi, there were no towels in my room, the soap that was used and full of hair and it was not soap, they were bits of recycled soap.
Attention well, the owner is a bit pedantic, kind but forcibly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I enjoyed the quite area and the view from the balconies.
- Hu (8/5): - Owner is a very interesting lady who is developing the property in the heart of the old town, with a beautiful garden area looking out on the country in transition. Room is spartan but clean and double beds are good. Breakfast was all made from “scratch”; excellent pancakes!
Excelentes desayunos!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hard to find, it's up the steep hill a block behind the park
