Guest Reviews
- Alan (6/5): Great Location with Minimal Ammenities - The room was large and actually had an attached sitting room, but there were no amenities. There was no TV, no alarm clock, just a bed and a sofa , coffee table and a private bath.
- Adrianus (8/5): Great Little Hotel - Staff was very helpful. Is a basic place to stay but for the area it was good for the price.
- Agua (4/5): Keep looking for a hotel! - There was a festival going on and I'm not kidding; try sleeping inside a concert hall! There were cars on both
side of street due to all the carnival rides, etc. and taxi unable to take me to hotel...so I "walked" to hotel bags
and heels on!!!! That was the worst experience ever!
- David (8/5): Just can't beat an Ajijic Suite! - Another wonderful stay at Ajijic Plaza Suites. Couldn't ask for a better location; cleanliness of rooms; needs attended to quickly; within walking distance of most anything. Coffee available early in the morning; nice continental breakfast poolside. Owner is a great young man and the staff is always responsive and helpful.
- JOAQUIN (8/5): Fun family trip! - It was a nice relaxing atmosphere, Great for the family as the rooms did not have television but Wifi was excellent!
- Luz Justicia (8/5): Conociendo Ajijic - Padrisimo me encanto Ajijic
- Kirk (10/5): already planning to return. - I liked it here so much I stayed two extra days. The hotel staff were especially friendly and helpful in every way. Abel, Beto and Irene were very pleasant and polite. I stayed two weeks and loved every minute of it. The hotel is literally only steps away from the park, great restaurants, the cathedral and a small bank. If you need to buy anything from fresh bread to fruit or cell phones seriously it's all right there a half a minute walk away. Such reasonable prices per night too. Already I'm planning to return.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic accommodations - Beautiful entry way, rooms basically clean, chipped paint on walls and furniture, vinyl flooring chipped, exposed wiring with fixtures, runs out of hot water, TV reception fuzzy, felt safe ( somebody is always at reception, staff very friendly and helpful, location is the best, kitchen and refrigerator dirty, pool very clean, need lounge chairs, breakfast descent.
- Verified traveler (4/5): PLAZAS SUITES QUE DECEPCION - LA ALBERCA ESTABA ENLAMADA, A LA PUERTA DEL BAÑO LE HACIA FALTA UNA PARTE DEL MARCO, Y NOS ESTUVIERON SALIENDO CUCACHARAS TANTO EN EL BAÑO COMO EN EL CUARTO A PESAR DE QUE SE NOTO QUE HACEN EL ASEO A CONCIENCIA
No regreso nunca!
- DW (2/5): primitive. Old Mexico. - The facility is in poor condition. Not clean, mold in shower and shower curtain. Beds uncomfortable. Gap under door so bugs came in. No coffee maker, fridge or microwave in room. Coffee maker in court yard, you must go there to get coffee. They do make coffee often during the day. One fridge for all to use, it is in the court yard also. The walks were stone. Uneven. No telephone service.
- MLo (6/5): Good location. - Ants on the ceiling which eventually landed on us.
- Traveller (6/5): Not all is as stated on Expedia - We booked this hotel mainly because of its location; right in the central plaza. No disappointment there and despite being in the middle of everything It was very quiet. Room 6 however, where we stayed, is next to a communal toilet so lots of traffic past the door, ( workmen?). The first problem was parking - the listing says there is parking. What this means is that if there's an empty space on the street you can park there. Checking in was OK but the receptionist had a horrible cold and kept touching her nose in between passing me change, a receipt, pen etc. Next step - go to room and wash hands! Listing says "complimentary toiletries", not true, no soap. To his credit the manager did go down the street and came back with two guest sized bars which lasted us for our four day stay. Coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day did not materialize and there was none at all to be found on the morning we left - no ground coffee available. Listing says there is a spa on the premises so I thought I'd get a pedicure - my request was met with shrugs. I asked if they could tell me where I could get one, more shrugs. I should add that I speak enough Spanish to get by for these simple things. More shrugs from both manager and female receptionist. Heading down the street I found a salon within 50 meters and asked the lady how long she'd been there. 30 years was the proud reply! I could go on but Expedia won't let me write more! Stay here for the location, nothing else.
- Joe (8/5): Great Location - Great place to say, clean and a excellent location!! Always love Ajijic and Chapala area!!
- Kathy (2/5): Horrible - There was no soap, no shower curtain/door, broken blinds allowing people to look into the bedroom, green water.
- Mark (6/5): Needs more than a name change - The owner may have changed the name of the property to Ajijic Plaza Suites (from Hotel Ajijic) but unfortunately has not upgraded the property to live up to the revamped designation. All things considered, the staff is the best thing going for the hotel as they are friendly, courteous and ready to lend a helping hand.
The room itself is spacious, but nevertheless has a rundown appearance. The faucet in the bathroom was loose to the touch and the toilet leaked water on to the bathroom floor. There was not even some bottled water for room guests to drink. I though the room was a bit overpriced at $36 a night and I am told they charge even higher on the weekends...not because of delivering any additional value, but simply because they can count on guests coming from Guadalajara for the weekend.
- jeff (4/5): Depends on how long you're staying. - A night or two, ok. The location rocks. Any longer look for something else.
- Josep (10/5): Excelente ubicación - La estancia muy agradable.
- JOSE LUIS (6/5): CAMAS INCOMODAS - ME PARECIO BIEN PERO FALTA LIMPIEZA(POR EJEMPLO EN LAS SABANAS Y COLCHAS) LOS COLCHONES ESTAN MUY INCOMODOS MOLESTAN LOS RESORTES,LAS ALMOHADAS ESTAN TAMBIEN MUY INCOMODAS.
- A.C. Sobrino (6/5): Habitación grande - Muy cómoda habitación. Tele pésima y baño lleno de moho. Wifi inconsistente. Excelente ubicación.
- INYMAQRO Antonio Díaz (6/5): Agradable - Es un lugar tranquilo. Aunque la habitación le faltó limpieza.
- Mariana (10/5): Hotel muy agradable. Tranquilo para vacacionar. - Clima muy agradable. Su vegetacion hermosa. Habitaciones acogedoras. Alberca limpia solo agua fria. Confortable comodo , tranquilo. Buena Atencion.
- B (2/5): Totally Inadequate! - No Soap, No toilet tissue, No Shampoo, No Breakfast (advertised as available)
No air-conditioning and Mosquito's in room
Internet only worked about half the time
The wobbliest ceiling fan I have EVER seen. You have got to be kidding me!
Even the TV did not work. As you can see, I was NOT a happy camper this hotel is only worth about $10.00 a night. The staff were nice and do speak English but the hotel is very poorly maintained and the room I stayed in was in serious need of renovation.
- Bob (8/5): Great Location Makes This Worthwhile - This is a modest hotel in a great location. The guidebook said pool / off street parking / Air Cond. That would be no / no / no.
BUT, we liked it! Staff was friendly. Room was clean. It was very quiet at night despite being right downtown. You can walk to all the events and best restaurants. The central location made this a great choice.
Recomendado ampliamente.
- Tishipi (8/5): Great Mexican hotel - What a pleasure to be in a room which looks out onto a lush garden. The room was, actually, rooms as there was a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room which also allowed for two more persons. This is not your western type of hotel at all, thank goodness. The water pressure is minimal (a dribbly, yet adequate shower) and the closet area somewhat dark, yet the feeling of safety and pleasure was all around. The nights, after 10 pm were wonderfully quiet (except for a couple of Americans talking in loud voices as they left the nearby restaurant).
