- Paulo Eduardo Alves (10/5): -
- Sri Virinchi (10/5): - Clean room near to all the key attractions. Special mention to Barbara who checked me in and provided suggestions on my itinerary.
- Dylan (10/5): - Great location and super friendly staff!
- Mark (8/5): - Super location and a lovely helpful host. Room was clean and tidy.
- Stella (10/5): - I have never met a staff member more helpful and kind than Barbara in reception. She communicated several times with me enroute and gave me excellent directions to the hotel. She helped me to my room and honoured my request for a lower floor room. Never before have I been what’s apples a recommend list of activities and restaurants. It was so lovely to be treated so kindly.
- Douglas (10/5): - The place was spotless...Barbara was a beautiful and exceptional hostess....the location was terrific...when I return I will definitely be staying here...its fantastic
- Sophia (10/5): - Barbara was very helpful in telling us what to see, about the day pass, recommending restaraunts, and even looked up the airport bus schedule for us! Rooms were clean and spacious, and the pillows were even comfortable.
I was travelling with my 80 year old mother, and she found the steps up to the room a bit challenging, but if you're younger than that and in good health, it shouldn't be a problem. In fact, Villa Sigurata is on the same level and just 2 blocks from the main street, so we did not need to go up and down the hundreds of city steps to get to it everytime. Thank you for your hospitality!
- wendy (8/5): Staff was very helpful - Barbara and her dad were extremely helpful
- Breanna (10/5): - I had a fantastic stay here! It was very easy to get to and is close to the Pile Gate. Barbara was very communicative and made sure my arrival went smoothly and gave instructions on how to get here. The room was clean and had essentials that you needed. I had a later flight during my checkout day and was able to leave my bags there while I still got to enjoy the city. Barbara also organized a ride for me to the airport after my stay which made it easy. I would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!
- Darshdeep (10/5): - All around great place to stay in Dubrovnik.
- Shawna (10/5): - Lovely, quaint property in the heart of Old Town (so close to restaurants, shopping, museums, etc., but quiet at night)! Barbara was very kind and helpful! We absolutely loved our stay!
- Nichola (6/5): Wouldn’t recommend - Headline comment: this is not like a traditional hotel.
Our biggest issue was the shower, which was a health and safety hazard. There was no thermostat control, so we were scalded badly without warning on more than one occasion.
Generally, the owner/manager is very friendly and
kindly arranged transfers for us during our stay, which was very much appreciated.
However, there was no offer to help transfer luggage to/from the cars through the city, nor up the various flights of stairs inside the building (as would typically be the case with a hotel). This place would not suit anyone with mobility issues.
We were advised that the rooms are not cleaned daily. However, ours wasn’t very clean when we arrived either. The towels and bedsheets appeared to have been through a quick rinse in the wash but still had stains on them. There were hairs in the bathroom and watermarks in the shower. The floor was absolutely filthy, including in the communal stairwell, which didn’t appear to have been cleaned during the 3 nights we stayed.
Fresh towels have to be specifically requested via WhatsApp because there is no reception service.
The rooms are extremely small. Not just by European hotel room standards. My mum and I stayed in a double room and there was zero floor space to open our luggage to look through it, let alone anywhere to actually store our stuff.
I think the best thing about this place is its location.
- Guy (8/5): Pleasant, reasonable value, no shortcomings. - There was no restaurant, hence no breakfast. Restaurants aplenty immediately outside the door and everywhere. Location excellent, bang in the centre - easy to reach if you take the airport bus rather than taxi. No lift (of which we were warned). Good air-con and water-pressure. Front door key/lock functional but worn: a bit fiddly. Could use a new one.
- Kelvin (8/5): - 'Great Location
- Marcus (10/5): - Stay was excellant but the sheets were a little dirty and they forgot the toliet paper the first night, they resolved it quickly. Not a huge deal. It is s a great location and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Air conditioning woked good. Super central to everything.
- David (10/5): Great small hotel in Old City of Dubrovnik - Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, Barbara did an excellent job with booking, checking in and providing useful information & recommendations in Dubrovnik.
Only complaint no elevator to assist with 3 flights of stairs.
- Kristin (7/5): Great location - Barbara (host) is wonderful - great suggestions for dinner, helped arrange transport to and from the airport, even helped with laundry as we were on a long vacation, etc. The location in the old city is amazing - BUT it is VERY noisy. We were on the first floor and it is directly above a restaurant. Loud talking and transports in the early morning (i.e. 4:45 a.m.) and then people eating outside and laughing and talking until 11 p.m. You need to walk up narrow flights of stairs so a problem if there is any mobility issues (and same for lugging up heavy luggage)!!! Small refrigerator as side table was nice as room was very small (see below). Room size was VERY small - we had two large suitcases and no where to put them. NO CLEANING AT ALL DURING STAY - not even new towels. The twin beds were pushed together (like in all European hotels) but there wasn't the customary padding to "fill in" the crack so if you are a couple, you have to sleep separately or one of you is in the "crack" between the beds.
- Charles-Edouard (9/5): Très bien mais petit - Très propre et complet Taille des chambres
- Ryan (10/5): Great place - Great location in the old town. Rooms are small, but you're not going to spend much time in them. The air con was much needed. The host,Barbara, was a star,sl friendly and helpful, qould definitely recommend.
- Maria (10/5): - Very clean !
- Lorna (10/5): - Nice & clean. Hosts were helpful & accommodating. Great location, right in the Old Town making most areas of the city easily accessible by walking.
- Rowena (10/5): - Perfect location near the pile gate in old town. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very helpful staff. Clean room. Had to climb 2 flights of stairs with our luggage but otherwise perfect stay.
- David (9/5): Superb - N/A
- Rick (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (10/5): - Barbra was excellent at helping us with any questions. We enjoyed staying with her.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Kelly (8/5): Great location for Old Town - Fabulous location Rooms are very small, especially when travelling with large luggage. Many steps, although we were prepared for that.
- Randall (10/5): - The Villa Sigurata was an excellent choice for our honeymoon in Dubrovnik. It is located centrally within the city walls and close to everything. Our room, although smaller than preferred, was very romantic and perfect for a newlywed couple. But the most impressive part of our stay was how well Barbara took care of us. She picked us up at the airport and remained a reliable source of information as our own personal travel advisor during our entire stay. Her warmth and kindness made our time at the Villa Sigurate memorable and a home I would recommend to anyone I know.
- Andrea (10/5): - The property is extremely well situated and near to everything. It is comfortable and very clean. Barbara is great and has an excellent set- up including transfers back and fro to the airport. She is very helpful with info about Dubrovnik, restaurant recommendations etc.
we had a wonderful time.
- Richard (10/5): It was an enjoyable stay overall. - The location within the Old Town was great, very close to the main entry gate. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked. Being a couple with a split mattress at times was uncomfortable. I know this is typical in European accomodations.
- Stephanie L. (6/5): - Great location clean room and everything you need for an enjoyable stay in the walled city. Only negative was 50 plus steps up to the room on stair case. Staff was delightful and helpful.
- Simon (10/5): Fantastic stay - What a perfect place to stay. The host Barbara picked us up from the airport and took us to her lovely apartment in the centre of the old town. It was a small room with a comfy double bed, bathroom, TV, fridge, hairdryer and plenty of clothes hangers. It's really clean and just 50 yards from the centre, but not noisy at all. In fact when you shut the blinds and windows it's pitch back and silent, apart from the air con which works well. The old town of Dubrovnik is beautiful. You must walk the walls and go to the fortress. Entrance to the walls alone is €40 but a city pass, which includes the walls, the fortress, buses and loads of other places is also only €40 for one day, 50 for three or 60 for 5. We did everything in a 3 day pass. We stayed for a week, tbh 5 days would be enough but we went to Lepad beach on the bus and Banje beach, which is a 10 minute walk out the town a few times. Thoroughly recommended.
- Abi (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (8/5): Very good - location in old Town was fantastic. The bathroom smelled old and musty. needs a new toilet and seat.
- catherine (10/5): Amazing stay - So easy to find. We took the 15€ return airport tranportation and very simple to find hotel. They held our luggage and room was availble earlier than 2pm. Everything and anything you need right there. Room were beautiful, staff amazing and gave us direction and suggestion where to eat. My friend and i had room 3 and 5 and they were beautiful. I definitely can see why it is highly rated. You will not be disappointed.
- Samantha (8/5): - Overall this is a great little hotel, in an excellent location and brilliant value.
We had great communication before we got there.
Really clean and well presented.
Literally, the only negative was that if uou want daily room cleaning, it's an extra 7€ per day. We only stayed 3 nights, so not a big issue but expected this to be in the price paid like any other hotel I've stayed at.
- Anthonie (9/5): Superb -
- Noriyuki (8/5): Very excellent - Good location, good support of stuff. No significant point.
- Christina (10/5): - Barbara and her dad were wonderful and very helpful in answering all the questions. Loved the location being close to everythng. Would definitely stay avain there. Thank you for such a warm hospitality. Christina
- Jessica (10/5): Great stay! - Great room, very comfortable, clean and in a great location. Shower had excellent pressure. Staff were helpful with tips on things to do and restaurants to try. Would stay again!
- Anuradha (10/5): - The place was very
- Duysal (8/5): - Fantastic location, great airport pick up/drop off service available. Very friendly staff. The rooms are clean but a tad small. The reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was because the mini fridge in the room was a bit too loud and kept waking me up. Overall would book again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cozy - Cozy room but lack of person on premises could be an issue for some guests. More housekeeping.
- Lili (10/5): - The accommodation itself is beautiful - capturing the real feel of the old town charm whilst being clean and practical. Barbara is a fantastic host. Before we arrived, she checked our arrival time, which meant our room was ready for us to early. She gave fantastic recommendations along with a map personalised to our interests. She was so helpful and made herself available to us should we need anything. The location is perfect and extremely walkable to all areas of old town.
- andrea (10/5): - The location is just perfect in the old city close to everything. The host, Barbara, is warm, professional and gave us tips on restaurants and things to do. Highly recommended!
- Ryan (10/5): - Great place to stay in old town
- Laura Parra (10/5): - I had an amazing time in Dubrovnik! Barbara was an excellent host. Very kind, attentive, and super helpful. I love my stayed at Villa Sigurata 2!! It was super clean, convenient, and right in the center of Old Town. I am definitely going to miss this place but I hope to come back soon. Thank you!!
- Ryan Christopher (10/5): - Great location in Old Town. Barbara did a wonderful job with helping with everything. Would definitely stay there again
- mikiko (10/5): - Host Nikolina was very welcoming & helpful. I opted to have pickup from the airport which helped make arrival stress free. Location is fantastic, as it is just a few minutes easy walk from Pile Gate & bus stop to take me to main bus station for my bus to Split. It was so nice to be able to take a break & refresh between activities, since my room was so close to everything in old town.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Tommy (9/5): just wonderfull - -a nice cozy place with wonderfull staf, local knowledge and willing to help, thank for a positive experience of Dubrovnik !
- Francis (9/5): Superb - Great location and Romana is a wonderful host. Informative, accommodating and friendly.
- Craig (10/5): - Lovely property in the heart of the old town, the host was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely stay here again.
- Nissan Joy (10/5): - The staff is so nice and friendly. I love my room, the bed is very comfortable and what Inlove the most is the area is in old town, so it's really close to all the tourist attractions. So many restaurants in the area. Love everything about it!❤️
- Ceci (10/5): - Beautiful property in the old town. Very safe place and conveniently located close to restaurants, shopping, historical views and churches. The property manager Romana very personable and a great help during our stay. I highly recommend this property.
- karen (10/5): - Service was wonderful. Family run business, they arranged transportation for us. We were very impressed. Fantastic location
- Kari (10/5): - Romana was a fantastic host! Very knowledgeable and friendly.
The location is perfect, close to everything in old town.
The rooms are very clean ans well stocked. Very quiet rooms especially with the shutters closed. Comfortable beds and pillows. Would definitely stay here again!
Well worth the price!
- Rebecca (10/5): - This is a great place to stay the reviews said great location but here's what that means. It is five minutes inside the Pile Gate and you do not have to go up any stairs or flights of stairs to get there. Many "sobes" are 30-50 plus stairs up within the Old Town.....The rooms were very comfortable, great beds, lovely bathroom, quiet and dark with shutters closed at night. Mini frig in room. Romana the owner was extremely helpful in all sorts of recommendations but especially dining. She is very responsive to any need or question. Was also able to arrange private transportation that was less expensive than taxis. Highly recommend.
- Yvette (10/5): - THERE ARE 2 VILLA SIGURATAS This review is for VS2 I don’t think there is a better location if you want a hotel in the old town. I was greeted by Romana as I approached the doorway to this hotel. She welcomed me in with a map of the town and several recommendations. The halls and room were very clean. The room while small by US standards was spacious by European. Street noise was totally silenced by closing door and window. A/C works great.
I was initially concerned that nobody was at the desk most of the time but every time I texted Romana (even at 6:30am) she responded within a few minutes.
This is a boutique style hotel stairs no elevator.
I would definitely recommend choosing Villa Sigurata II
- Tracy S (10/5): - Ramona was friendly and helpful. She greeted us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. She provided suggestions for dining options and also gave tips for how to get to the tram car without climbing more stairs.😊 This hotel is in a perfect location in the old town. Ramona also arranged transportation to the airport!
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional - The location and the host are top!
- Mark (10/5): Outstanding! - Highly recommend! Fantastic accommodation, communication and support from owners and location within city walls

- Sharon (10/5): - I met the owner and her mother, both lovely. They were both so helpful and I enjoyed staying in the heart of the old city.
- Dominga (8/5): Very good -
- Constance (10/5): - Amazing place to stay in the center of Dubrovnik. Close to everything. Clean. Cool (it was quite hot in the hottest European summer ever). Very helpful and responsive staff. All around great stay.
- Randy (10/5): - This boutique hotel is amazing. Romona such a gracious host who took care of every request I made. She seamlessly took care of airport transfers, meeting me outside of the Pile Gate both on arrival and walking me to meet the car upon departure. She had the best recommendations for dining and sights/excursion. If you’re looking for a quiet, charming boutique hotel look no further.
- Hollie (10/5): - Excellent host, clean room and excellent AC, very close to all the main attractions
- Michael (10/5): Cosy room, right in the heart of the old city. - Great location in the heart of the old city. A small space, befitting the style and location of the facility. But it was so handy, to spend a morning exploring the city in the heat, and then to pop back to the room to freshen up and rest for the next part of the day. Very few places of this standard so close to the action!
Ramona was terrific, making checkin easy and responding to queries. Very helpful with great tips on getting the best value for our stay.
- Anthony (10/5): - Very pleased with our stay. Romana was amazingly helpful and accessible to help with any of our questions or needs. I would absolutely recommend Villa Sigurata ll to my family and friends.
- Steven (10/5): - Wonderful property, great location. Family owned business tucked away in the heart of Old Town. She was very attentive and helpful with any questions or needs. Would highly recommend!
- Tamar (10/5): we are coming back definitely - The location is the best, right in the old town , walking distance from restaurants, monuments etc

- Andrew (10/5): Ideal base toenjiy Dubrovnik old town from. - Excellent check-in. Romana and Nikolina were really helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely abs we were grateful for an excellent air-con!
Location was amazing - everything within easy walking distance.
- Patrocenia (10/5): - Close to Pile Gate so not a long walk into the Old City (4 minutes) no steps except in Villa (32 steps to first floor) Ramona is an awesome host. She gives you good suggestions for food, sightseeing, and provides you a map with details. Highly recommend
- Hasan (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is very good and the location is the best place for a holiday I definitely recommend it

- Sharon (10/5): - Amazing place to stay. If we needed anything we could text Romana. She saved us at least 15€ on our airport transfers. Close to everything. Great wifi. Stong air-conditioning. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Robert (10/5): Brilliant Place to Stay in Oldtown - Villa Sigurata is a brilliant place to stay. It’s clean and comfortable, the service was brilliant and it is perfectly located. There is also an incredible Mexican restaurant right outside the door. I would definitely stay here again.
- Khalid (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, convenient. Host Romana was very helpful. The Old City is beautiful and we enjoyed our walks.
- Chandni (6/5): Location is great but the room overall is small as well as the bathroom. The bathroom had a smell. - The location is fabulous The bathroom smelled and it was very small for two people. The toilet roll kept falling off the holder which was annoying and gross as it kept falling on the floor. They don’t provide room service for free so the place got dirty the three and a half days that we were there. You’re paying for the location.
- Deborah (10/5): - A very nice host.....perfect accommodations for me as one person.
- Coralie (10/5): Excellent, highly recommend this lovely accommodation - First rate location, home from home comfort, super kind and helpful staff. Can’t think of anything, we were delighted with everything.
- Michelle (10/5): - Romana is a wonderful host, so helpful and made our stay easy with great local tips, transfers and recommendations. Aircon was awesome and the rooms (we booked 4 for our family) were all super clean, very comfortable and good size. Great location on the flat section in Old Town so didn’t have to worry about steps through town as there are a lot! FYI: there are steps in the apartment building to each level. The in house laundry service was also handy and highly recommend. Romana and her team are fantastic and we highly recommend staying here.
- Kevin (10/5): Must stay! - Perfectly located. Room is beautiful, location is great but overall Romana is so helpful and sweet, highly recommend Absolutely nothing
