Guest Reviews
- Ian (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay
- wayne (10/5): - Fantastic staff, Great walks & peace!!
- Andrea (10/5): - The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, we enjoyed an evening meal and also had breakfast. The rooms are a good size with lots of amenities. The daily hand baked cookies in the room were delicious.
It is a peaceful location in the New Forest. They have a large outdoor space where you can enjoy drinks or food.
- Jason (10/5): Beautiful location, lovely staff. - Beautiful quiet location with great food. I felt very much at home. Charlotte, who seemed to be running the place single handedly was amazing. Will definitely return.
- Simon (10/5): - Absolutely loved this place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and wanted. The position of High Corner is fantastic and that’s not really doing it justice! The staff, all of them, were polite, welcoming, helpful and a credit to the pub.
The rooms we had were lovely although one was a little small due to being upstairs, however this did not detract from my stay as I had it all to myself!
Food, especially breakfast was very good. The steak was soo good I nearly had it the second evening but opted for the pie which was almost as good! For breakfast have anything with eggs, you won’t regret it.
All in all a great couple of nights. I will definitely be back at some point.
- hayley (10/5): Beautiful old inn in the heart of the New Forest - Lovely inn in very picturesque settings in New Forest. Comfy bed although quite small room. Lovely walks right from the doorstep. Great food and large beer garden. If you want a stay right in the New Forest it’s perfect!
- Gillian (10/5): - It was a perfect break. Everything all catered for comfort food hospitality and surroundings with fabulous walks and wine needful weather
- Neil (10/5): Wonderful High Corner - Wonderful stay in the Kingfisher room at High Corner. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and evening meals were good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Great seeing the horses by the atop area to our room. Would highly recommend.
- P (10/5): - What more can i say, it's a hidden gem right in the middle of the New Forest
- Debbie (10/5): - Had a wonderful stay. Peace and quiet. Very dog friendy and lovely staff.
- Emma (10/5): Excellent service - Excellent staff, made us feel very welcome. Dog friendly and delicious food, all in a beautiful setting.
- Andrew (8/5): - We are repeat customers. This is probably our 7th or 8th visit. Love the area...great for walks. Love how remote The High Corner Inn is. There seems to be a high staff turnover the past few years however bar and restaurant staff were excellent on this visit and couldn't have been more welcoming. Only two complaints...it has become quite expensive and the food quality is not as good. We all felt that the value for money in terms of food and drinks was not as good as in the past. In fairness, there are offers available but not every night so when service is added it can get pricey. Two of our group had fish pie yesterday and it was very bland and watery. For a proper "full English" breakfast there is a £4 surcharge per person. You can opt for the lighter version though at no extra cost but, again, it felt like a way of making a bit more money. The other gripe is the past two years running we have almost been pressured to not have our room serviced. We kind of felt obliged to say no when the cleaner asked us directly outside our rooms as she was looking flustered. The rooms get very dirty due to mud, etc, from the forest. They need to let guests just use the regular door hangers to say if we want rooms serviced or not rather than catching us straight after breakfast. Despite this, we will return as we love the area and we still love the friendly welcome, but will probsbly branch out and eat elsewhere in the future.
- Jose (6/5): Mixed review - Room was lovely but not enough tea bags (only 2). We had to ask for the homemade goodies which were advertised as being in room. Food in restaurant was bland. No mushrooms or tomatoes for hreakfast as ran out!
The best part of the hotel is its fabulous location and wonderful staff particularly Ruby and Mike.
- lorinda (8/5): - We love this place, very comfortable.
Food is amazing, however we did find our breakfast a little cold at times.
Our room was very cosy but maybe could do with a deep clean in the bathroom. There was a drain odour, but that could havd been the toilet brush that was absolutely rank. Not what you expect to see when stepping out of the shower.
We really had a great relax. Many thanks
- Carl (6/5): - Arrived to inn and was met with a power cut, was offered another site or to wait. Offered a drink and sat by open fire...nice. However, we noticed an issue with staff... fractious.
Breakfast was weak, dinner was good. Very same pub menu, drink offers.
- Jason (6/5): - The hotel location is great if you enjoy walking and a quiet trip away from everything. We found this place in the summer on a walk and decided to go back and stay. It only has a few rooms so nice and quiet and attached to a nice pub with a good menu and drinks. The main issue i have is the room descriptions on Expedia do not exist in reality, i booked a superior room, there aren't any, only standard rooms or 1 larger suite. In our room, only a bath with shower attachment, which with a sloping roof you cannot stand under. But again i feel this is an Expedia problem not really the hotel fault.
- Sharon (10/5): - Lovely little cosy place. Lovely room for 2 adults to get away. Right in the middle of the forest. Nice food options. Would come back.
- Talbot (10/5): Overnight stop over. - Delightful surprise in the middle of the national park. Excellent food in this quaint and quiet location.
- Jane (6/5): - A lovely location in the middle of the New Forest. Nice rooms but bathroom in need of some TLC and a bath with shower attachment not really fit for showering, as no shower curtain so water everywhere. Ask for a room with walk in shower. Hairline crack in sink which could easily have been filled. Reasonably clean although bedside lights could do with a dust inside shades. The start of mould on ceiling above bed. Just a bit of care and attentin required. Saying that it was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The food over priced for what you got - nearly £19 for a burger and chips. Poor service the evening we had dinner and gave up on the idea of dessert after waiting 20 minutes for the menu and then another 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Breakfast was chaotic as one member of staff trying to do everything and we did feel for her as guests went for breakfast at the same time. Waited over 30 minutes for meal and it came with out hash browns as they had run out and the food was cold. We did not have time to wait for another one and decided to give breakfast a miss on the 2nd morning. Our complaint with regards food was taken on board and a refund given but a disappointing stay over all.
- Victoria (8/5): - A lovely romantic getaway! Very friendly staff, tastefully decorated rooms and great breakfast! Its remote but its a great position to explore the area. We werent very impressed with our dinner from the pub but we ordered late so maybe we were just unlucky.
We stayed in 'Normandy' room which is a superior double - nice room but it only has a bath, no shower, which we didnt realise when we request a room with a bath.
We would definitely stay again when in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Break with friends - Nice room, friendly staff and good service. Stayed at a number of Butcombe pubs. Others have extras in room eg complimentary drink or biscuits, this one had nothing. Food was good but I am afraid the beer was not to the normal Butcombe standards.
- robert (10/5): Great location, warm, friendly and comfortable - Great location in the New Forest - even the car park was full of ponies- blessed with good weather, we ate on the patio for lunch and breakfast, both excellent, as was dinner in the restaurant. Large bath with hand held shower, the room was a good size, clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming- happy to recommend
- Margaret (10/5): - The king size bed was ooooh so comfy . Plug for hairdryer in wardrobe ???? Hopeless ,!
Lovely hotel in the heart of the forest but very pricey on the drinks 22.70 fir two glasses of wine ,
Needless to say we didn’t get drunk
- Nathan (6/5): - A little tired. No functional WiFi, lack of service at breakfast and some hot water issues. Left feeling slightly disappointed & underwhelmed
- William (10/5): - Great Inn in a great location. Great staff.
The internet could be more reliable.
- Caroline (10/5): - Amazing stay perfect for a chilled relaxing holiday. Central to most of where we wanted to go.
It’s literally in middle of moors with only horses, deers and cows around.
Fantastic staff and lovely breakfast.
Room clean - wi fi iffy but tbh it was a welcome break from technology and meant we chilled a lot more x
- Larissa (8/5): - Our room was very comfortable, spacious and decorated beautifully. The hotel is in a peaceful location surrounded by nature and was very quiet. All of the staff we interacted with were polite and friendly. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the pub for dinner. The only disappointment with our stay was the confusion over breakfast. In the room they advise a breakfast to go pack is available if you need to check out prior to 8am. As we needed to do that we asked the dinner staff how we organise that. After a few enquiries we were told someone would be in the restaurant prior to 8am that we could speak to and they would pack us something to take with us. We arrived at the restaurant to check out just before 8am and were not left a note by staff the night before and that the chef didn't arrive until 8am meaning further delays as he'd have to then cook something. As a result we left empty-handed as we had to leave and couldn't wait any longer. We contacted the hotel about this via Expedia to advise of this as we were driving to our next destination but haven't had a response so are writing it here.
- REBECCA (10/5): - We love this place. Second stay here and this time to celebrate a birthday so had the bigger room. A wonderdul stay as always and still quiet despite a party of guests arriving for our second night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely location and great hospitality! Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Forest Inn -
Room was small and was impossible to get to left hand side of bed as it has a slopped roof. Staff were friendly but on our first night meal we had to wait nearly an hour as they could not cope but they did apologise for that, I asked for steak on the last night and for it to be medium cooked but when I got it the plate was full of blood and it was very rare, my wife had fish of the day but they covered it with so much hot spices my wife had to scrape it all off before she could eat it for the price the food was not great.
Also, internet was hit and miss if you got a connection and there was absolutely no mobile signal but that’s not their fault.
In middle of forest so if you like walks it ideal and dog friendly.

- DOUG (10/5): RARE LITTLE FIND - the most amazing fact about our stay at the high corner inn
was the very point of being able to find it.
putting in the post code is not 100% because of the lack of GPS in the forest, but after a few missed directs from the sat nav we found it. well worth the agro ,the inn is more akin to a small country house hotel than a pub.
clean, friendly, and top class accomodation.only one drawback ,you need to ask for proper directions to HIGH CORNER INN (IMPERATIVE)
- Daniel (10/5): New forest luxury - Perfect
Location for a perfect get away
- Ian (8/5): - a great location if you like country areas
- Alison (10/5): - Beautiful, comfy and clean room. Friendly staff. Brilliant breakfast. Gorgeous location. Thanks very much!
- Lauren (10/5): - Gorgeous weekend in the New Forest at the High Corner Inn. We had our meals at the pub and went for a great walk around the surrounding area. Definitely recommend, just don’t go expecting the wifi to work!
- Nigel (10/5): Great stay - Amazing location, great rooms and friendly service.
- Ellis (10/5): - Room great would like to comment about the restaurant times and bar opening times in January
- Elyse (10/5): - Stunning hotel in the middle of nowhere! I stayed here as I was down with work and always look for a nice quote hotel, this was lovely. Really nice room, helpful staff, had a lovely fish & chips on the evening and a breakfast in the morning. Will definitely stay again next time I’m down.
- Domenico (10/5): - Lovely little hotel in a great location. Room we had was lovely. Restaurant menu had plenty of variety and the food was excellent. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Planning our next trip when days are longer so we can enjoy the location more.
- Paul (10/5): - Great location, friendly and helpful staff, great food I just hope no one reads this as they will all want to stay there!!
- tracey (10/5): A great place to unwind - This was the 4th time we have stayed here. Just an amazing, relaxing place to escape to, even the dog loves it. Nothing better than sitting in front of an open fire with a drink after a long walk. And spoilt for choice for breakfast too.
- Ian (10/5): - Staff were amazingly helpful and we very much enjoyed our stay.
- paul (10/5): - Great stay in great location. Friendly staff and good pub grub options. Cosy for a cold stirmy night in the New Forest. Rooms really well equipped and renovated. Recommend and great breakfast options
- REBECCA (10/5): - This property was lovely and we are looking forward to returning. We didnt realise we should have had a free drink as part of our stay under Vip benefits and this wasnt mentioned to us. Otherwise the room location and breakfast were fantastic.
- Kelly (8/5): - I have been a visitor to the high corner in for many years. I like the refurbishment to the property. It is the perfect location to park and not get back in your car till you leave as you can walk in many different directions and each day be different. The food is delicious, my wife said she had the best chicken pie she had ever eaten there. The staff are very friendly and attentive.
- kevin (10/5): - This propery is picturesque and magical! Best hotel stay I have experienced in more than 25 years of travel.
- Sean (10/5): - Everything was perfect
- MRS (10/5): - Excellent in every way . Stunning location quiet and tucked away . Gorgeous rooms and wonderful food . A hidden gem . We will be back
- Bob (10/5): Perfect location, stop looking and book it now! - What a fantastic place! The staff are all universally brilliant. The food was great, the beer good, the location perfect deep in the heart of the forest, ponies around all the time.
If you're tight for time it is remote and does take time to get to, but it is worth it!
I needed breakfast at 8am, I got breakfast at 8am, the breakfast itself was excellent too.
- Ivan (10/5): Great!! - Lovely place for our overnight stay. Would recommend.
- Chris (10/5): Perfect remote location - Lovely staff, good food and beer, really comfortable room. Very much off the beaten track, but that's exactly what we wanted.
- Gary (10/5): High Corner Inn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A quiet getaway in a very nice location with attentive and friendly staff. Very picturesque and relaxing. We are definitely going to book this again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Jason (6/5): - Wonderful location for forest walks, staff lovely and the full English breakfast was superb
Biggest downside was the complete lack of any connection to WiFi, 4g, 3G or even mobile phone service for calls or SMS
The whole hotel/pub is a complete black spot for any signal
This might be really appealing to anyone who wants to get away from it all and enjoy nature, and tbh I’d usually be all in favour out that myself. The main reason for our disappointment with it was that we weren’t expecting it. The hotel shows it has complimentary WiFi, but it’s not until you’re there that you see their notice saying it’s ‘temperamental’ (it’s not, it’s non existent) Whilst we liked not being glued to our phones for a few days, things like checking weather forecasts or downloading walking maps etc were impossible
We finally found one spot out in the car park where we got a tiny bit of phone signal, just enough to send our daughter a text to let her know not to worry about us
Our stay felt like good value as we had a free drink each and a full English breakfast each, however we’d used a lot of Expedia points which made our stay feel good value.
- Karen (10/5): - Wonderful stay with excellent service from the whole team, especially the manager and his wife, the assistant manager Could not fault a thing.
- Garry (6/5): Disappointed with the room - The High Corner Inn is a lovely place and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
I was very disappointed with the room. When i booked it showed the room having a large bathroom with a bath and a shower and the main bedroom being a large superior room. There was no shower and the main room was small and definitely not the room I was expecting to get.
My Girlfriend was happy but I wasn't and I should have complained at the time when we were given the room. I didn't want to upset my Girlfriend as we were both looking to spend some relaxing time together.
IF....I return to the hotel I return to the hotel I will phone and speak to them first as I feel that I paid for a Superior room which i certainly didn't get.
- Denise (10/5): Brilliant relaxing stay - We stayed for the weekend for my husband's birthday, lovely atmosphere, fab food and fantastic service and warm comfortable in a brilliant location in the New Forest
- Louise (4/5): Not worth the money. - The double bed was two beds pushed together and the springs were poking through both mattresses which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. There was a huge damp patch on the bathroom ceiling and the shower head did not work. Breakfast was extremely disappointing, it took 20 minutes to realise there was no avocado, by that time it was too late to order something else.
- Diane (10/5): Great place to stay - Beautiful location, very helpful, friendly staff. Lovely room. Will return yet again and again.
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent Staff, and Management, my only thing i could raise issue with, is the hide and seek WiFi
- Nick (8/5): Lovely overnight stay - Lovel calm, quiet and friendly
- Michael (2/5): - Pub closed in the evening, no food or drinks available
- Marie (10/5): Weekend Break - Located in the middle of the New Forest and hidden away from everything down a shale road, you come upon this lovely traditional pub with ponies wandering around and log fires in the winter. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pub in general had warm and cosy atmosphere. The rooms were warm and inviting, with tea, coffee and water available and the bed was so comfortable it was a drag to get out. The area is remote so don't think you have a phone signal as this is very patchy, in fact we had no signal at all weekend at the pub. Also they do Have WiFi, but it can be a bit hit and miss and does drop out occasionally. I would say if you want a walking or just a weekend away from it all holiday, although all the New Forest towns are all on your door step with a short drive, then I would highly recommend staying here.
- Darren (10/5): Great little place to stay. - Very beautiful place but isolated if you like your creature comforts such as WiFi and internet access. Great place when the sky is clear as you are in the middle of the New Forest so no light pollution, the stars are wonderful!
- Leanne (8/5): - We've stayed here before lovely setting but feel the pub needs a little tlc.
- Debbie (8/5): - The hotel really was in the middle of nowhere. I loved the area the surrounding forest really was beautiful and we had a lovely walk after lunch. The staff were all friendly and it was great to see so many dogs around us as its a dog friendly hotel. The room was small but spotless and there was a good selection of teas and coffees available for us. Downsides of the room however were the showerhose was pretty unusable due to the slope of the bathroom ceiling. The mattress was too hard for my liking and i woke up with painful hips and back. The food was nice but expensive for what it was. Im vegetarian and i felt there was a lack of options for me but what i had was good. My partner had steak which he enjoyed however he did have to go after the waiter to tell him how he liked it cooked as he left our table without asking. Breakfast was lovely and definitely the best meal we had there. Overall we had a pleasant stay but i dont think we will go back as it was just too pricey for us.
- Michelle (10/5): Brilliant - Lovely place to stay right in the heart of the forest. Excellent service and comfortable stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful location, nice staff but poor beds. - Really enjoyed our stay, the staff were really friendly and approachable. The menu was a very simple "pub" menu, but of excellent quality. I appreciated the covid measures with an outdoor bar, and in the sunny weather it's a lovely garden to eat outside, with the pleasant addition of ponies and horses to watch.
The room we had was spacious and had a comfortable sofa which we appreciated after a long walk in the nearby woods.
Downside is the beds were very har(much like boarding school beds), and the bath / shower wasn't really usable as a shower due to the pitched roof. - and being 6'8" I didn't fit in the bath, a lack of shower curtain meant the bathroom got soaked every time I tried to wash.
Generally though the upsides outweigh the down by a long margin!
- Leon (10/5): Warm and friendly - Staying at the High Corner Inn was like living with a friendly family in their home.
We felt totally at home for our entire stay.
Each and every member of staff we encountered plus the manager were extremely warm and helpful.
I look forward to visiting in the future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The overall experience was positive, friendly and helpful staff, spotless room and a great location (if challenging to find)
The room was small but just what we needed and the bathroom was excellent with a great bath (much appreciated by my wife). The WiFi provided is essential as no mobile signal at all.
Food in the restaurant was limited that evening, but we arrived late on what seemed to have been a busy Sunday lunch session, however the quality was good.
This property is a pub/inn with a number of rooms and parts of the property are a little down at heal. That said the décor is wholly appropriate for the venue and location, but does need to be refreshed. Ventilation needs to be improved in the public areas as these are stuffy and stale especially between self closing doors.
In summary if we were walking or cycling in the area we would definitely stop again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location, lovely Hotel, very friendly staff
- Robert (8/5): Great New Forest Location - The location was great and all staff very helpful and friendly. Only moans would be flies in breakfast room. Also the whole place needs a coat of paint.
- Kathryn (10/5): A welcome retreat ! - Booked last minute and managed to get a cancellation. The sat nav brought us the back way which was a bit nerve wracking as we couldn’t believe we were going to get there down a gravel rack for a few miles past some cows/ horses etc.. But what a treat awaited us ! With friendly service , delicious food and really comfortable lodgings ! Highly recommend!
- Caroline (6/5): Good food, friendly staff, tired accomm - Pros: Friendly staff, really good breakfast and great location in the New Forest.
Cons: This is very much a pub with accommodation tacked on. The room (Normandy) is tired (chipped paint, peeling wallpaper, broken fittings, cupboard doors that don't close properly, broken window fittings) with thin walls so you can hear your neighbours' every move and word.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location
- Ian (10/5): High Corner Inn - First class accommodation and service in a beautiful location. Highly recommended!
- Paul (6/5): Staff & food great, but room was disappointing - Really disappointed as our room was small and needed a good clean. We were really looking forward to staying in the room shown in the image but it appears booking through "hotels.com" does not get you the better rooms or the best rate!
Couldn't fault the staff though they were friendly and professional and did their best to make our stay a good one. Breakfast and evening meals were top notch too.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent - Excellent staff really helpful fantastic food . Lovely room (kingfisher) . Beautiful location . Would stay again and recommend to friends.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Superb location and staff attentive. The room was ok for the cost, however wouldn't rate it as 4 star luxury accommodation. The bedroom had curtains that wouldn't close properly, the carpet was stained and the lightening was terrible. I would say the bathroom was up to standard. For such a stunning location it felt like there was something missing. I think this is due to High Corner Inn belonging to a brewery chain rather than privately owned - it seemed that it lacked passion.
- charles (10/5): excellent - really nice characterful inn in fantastic location. friendly staff, good food
- Lorraine (8/5): A hidden gem - We had a lovely stay , beautiful location .
The staff were very friendly and efficient.
We had a nice evening meal , the steak pie was very good .
The room was average and unfortunately the shower hose over the bath didnt work.
The hotel was very dog friendly and we loved walking in the forest with the ponies , piggies and deer .
Breakfast had to be pre ordered it wss a little rushed as the cooked breakast arrived when we were mid cereal !
We would definitely return .
- sarah (8/5): Lovely relaxing stay in a beautiful spot - Lovely hotel, literally in the middle of the forest, very secluded and peaceful area with wild horses on your doorstep.
All of the staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful at all times.
Room was lovely, we had a huge luxurious bath which was heaven after a muddy forest walk.
The only thing that wasnt 100% was the breakfast. Certainly nothing major, just breakfast both days was a little underwhelming, lacking a bit of flavour - and no butter on toast under eggs, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs etc so ended up being quite dry, maybe there could be an option on pre booking breakfast menu for customer to choose butter / no butter on toast/ sandwich?
- Ron (10/5): - Only disappointing thing, not really that disappointing, was that the room had a bath with a hand held shower head. Pub is in the middle of the New Forest and was quite difficult to find and driving to it is a few miles along an uneven unmetalled road. However it was worth the drive
- Emma (8/5): - Idyllic location in the heart of the new forest. Found at the end of an off road track, we found ourselves greeted by plenty of the local ponies as soon as we arrived in the car park. Room was clean and spacious, even had enough room for us to place our dogs travel crate and still be able to move around. Tea & coffee making facilities and bathroom products were a welcomed touch. Free WiFi was much needed as we had no EE phone signal in the area. Online check in and check out worked very well in light of the current COVID restrictions. We dined one night in the pub, staff were very respectful of restrictions and handling of my husbands seafood allergy. Good choice at breakfast, just had to submit a form the night before. Staff were very friendly and accommodating despite us travelling with our little miniature dachshund who had decided she was going to bark and howl at most other people/ dogs we came across during our stay!
- Lyndsay (10/5): - Booked a last minute trip and the room and staff at high corner inn were exceptional and super welcoming! Felt incredibly comfortable staying here and that wasnt just due to the fabulous room! Highly recommended due to location, staff, food, and gorgeous rooms. Honestly couldnt think of anything to co.plain about
- Maggie (10/5): - Will definitely be visiting again everything was perfec staff were brilliant helpful friendly couldent do enough to make your stay safe and enjoyable
Food was excellent and an exceptional location for beautiful walks. Stay safe all great staff at The High Corner Inn.
- Chris (8/5): Wonderful - except for technology - Perfect forest location, lovely staff, nice food and drinks. Covid rules good but not perfect - we felt like there were too many dinner tables indoors and not enough open windows etc. No internet/WiFi, unwatchable TV and no mobile signal in hotel for most of our stay. Not great for weather checks/route planning etc. But overall so nice, we'll definitely be back.
- Sarah (10/5): - It was perfect, in the most amazing location, the Normandy room had a beautiful big bath we would defiantly stay again. The English breakfast was delicious but for some reason there was flies everywhere at breakfast. The staff were perfect!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Lovely pub in the middle of the forest complete with roaming ponies. Stayed one night with our dog, very dog friendly. Very thorough on covid regs. Lovely staff, good sized comfortable room with huge bathroom. Had evening dinner very good and excellent cooked breakfast. What more can you ask for. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very clean and comfortable - Easy systems in place to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The staff were so chatty and friendly too, which added to the experience. Big room, luxury bed and bathroom, just what we needed.
- Paul (8/5): - We had a rather small loft room with a bath and no shower. The Covid arrangements were thorough and the staff friendly, efficient and organised. A perfect location for our short cycling break
- George (8/5): Very Happy - Great location. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent Dog Friendly Hotel in the New Forest - Hotel was really good, we arrived to late for food due to last minute family requirements, but the breakfast was lovely, the beer good, the bar area excellent. The room was amazing, we had "The Kingfisher Suite" shown in the picture it was great, with views out to the New Forest, and the ponies. Clean, friendly, dog friendly and very comfortable. Already planning our next visit, where we will arrive earlier in order to enjoy a meal in the evening. Thoroughly recommend this place.
- Emily (8/5): Brilliant! - The heron room is so sweet and quaint for a perfect couple getaway, the bar staff and the cook were so sweet and attentive, not to mention the free breakfast included ;)
- Tracey (8/5): Fab new forest stay - Had a fab stay with hubby and our two dogs. Lovely room. Great staff. Food fabulous.
- Mark (8/5): Very Welcoming - Comfy, cosy with a warm welcome. Good food and good selection of ales
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely quiet location in the woods. Good food, drink and service.
Room and spaces traditional not modern.
- Paul (10/5): THE best place to stay and enjoy the New Forest - I have stayed at the High Corner a number of times and will continue to stay here whenever possible, as it ticks all the boxes. It is a great place to stay - great location, great hosts, great food and drink, great accommodation and a fabulous log fire in the bar area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was in the middle of what seemed like nowhere which was fab. Right in the heart of the New Forest. The young man who checked us in on the Friday evening was there for the duration of our stay and was a fantastic host. Serving us at the bar, taking our dinner orders, welcoming us for breakfast-nothing was too much trouble.. Extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. The property was clean and tidy. Perhaps some bits of the room need touching up with paint but that didn’t bother us.
There was a powercut on our last evening while sitting in the bar. It only lasted a short while but the staff quickly ran around providing candles for everyone and going around offering drinks. It made it all the more rustic and charming!
Would recommend and would certainly return
- Ell (10/5): 100%recommend - Absolutely loved it. Staff very friendly and food very nice. Beautiful views and walk to finish it all off. Definitely stay again thank you for everything 😊
