Guest Reviews
- john (10/5): - Our hosts were helpful & charming, Room & facilities were faultless Highly recommended.
- kirstie (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at Hazel Barn. The hosts are wonderful. The beds are extremely comfortable
- Carri-Ann (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay and we were very well looked after. Lovely people
- robert (10/5): One night stay for a wedding - One night stay for a wedding party. Quiet accommodation with great breakfast.
- JULIE (10/5): - set in beautiful countryside. very quiet, room was very comfortable with a wonderful view, and we had a shared kitchen with another room, with microwave, fridge, in which we put some cold items for the next day.
hosts were wonderful, very helpful in recommending somewhere to eat that 1st night, the local pub was lovely and great food. and the breakfast that we had the following morning was exceptional, plenty of safe parking.
would highly recommend
- Emily (10/5): - Both my partner and I really enjoyed our stay. We didn’t spend much time here as we were at a Bressingham Hall for a wedding. However, the small amount of time we did spend here was pleasant. Hosts are very welcoming and informative. We stayed in the double bedroom just off from the communal area and it was quiet and clean. Had everything we needed and a lovely view out into the garden.
The breakfast served has to be the best I’ve had in a very long time! Would thoroughly recommend including breakfast within your stay. Being able to eat this in the main houses summer room was a pleasant surprise also!
- Tracy (8/5): Comfortable / lovely. Don’t arrive early though - I went to Diss to see friends & colleagues. On arrival no one was there to meet me as I had arrived early. There was no way of contacting the proprietor. They were on holiday, their adult daughter & son in law were taking care of bookings/stays. I had to wait for them to come home from work. The son in law was the first to arrive and was friendly & apologetic. The daughter arrived and she was equally lovely. The room was so nice and comfortable. I had a fantastic sleep & enjoyed my stay.
- Christopher (10/5): - Have stayed before so knew what to expect. The owners are very easy to get on with plus very polite and friendly. Best part of the stay is the English breakfast which is superb all of the trimmings. The breakfast is worth 5 stars alone.
- Rob (10/5): Great breakfast - Lovely B&B, very clean and comfy, excellent breakfast.
- Robert (10/5): - Lovely hosts. Very comfy bed. Breakfast was very tasty.
- e (10/5): Very Nice stay - Very welcome host, very relaxing atmosphere and clean room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Tranquil, comfortable, rural B and B - Stayed 1 night. Room with double bed. V peaceful. Comfy, clean and welcoming. Includes a shared area with kitchen if you want to prepare any food during the day. Breakfast was lovely, hosts were friendly.
Only v small issue - a little confusing where to enter the B and B.
- Caroline (10/5): Beautiful. - Lovely b&b. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully furnished. Our window overlooked the chickens, who were very quiet. The whole setting was very rural and so quiet. The breakfasts were great. We had use of a shared kitchenette and dining table which was great for eating in. Would definitely recommend.
Only negative was my elderly mother found the shower cubicle difficult to get in and out as there was a big step, no handle and she found the floor slippery. I had no problems. We were in the twin room.
- Kully (10/5): - A lovely property in a beautiful setting, run by a lovely couple. Our second stay here and we were not disappointed. Great home cooked breakfast. Thank you Ginny 😊
- Susan (10/5): Hazel Barn Bed and Breakfast - Stayed just the one night and very happy. Clean, comfortable and an excellent breakfast in the morning. A little out of the way, so car is a must. We stayed in the Willow room which had a lovely view out onto the garden. Only had minor niggles, bed was a double, not a king which I am used to (but double was in booking info). Doors are creaky and door catch noisy, so a quiet toilet visit in the night is difficult.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
- Felicity (10/5): - Room for 3 and we didn't really have to see anyone else!
- Gavin (10/5): Home from home - We stayed for one night in the double room. It was like home from home. Ginny made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Bed was super comfy, shower was hot and tea and coffee in the room.
Ginny also gave us recommendations of where to eat which we really appreciated. Oh and the breakfast was delicious!! Definitely stay again
- Linda (10/5): - Delightfully clean and comfortable stay at Hazel Barn. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room near and tidy with water, tea, coffee etc and fresh milk availble. The b

- James (10/5): A hidden gem In the Norfolk Countryside - Let me start by saying this was the best night's sleep I've had in years. The location is a little remote but absolutely fantastic for a good night sleep. I met Ginny one of the hosts who was so lovely and friendly. The accommodation is such amazing value and would be a great base for trips to Norfolk.
There is a real nice energy about the place.
Absolutely loved it.
- Ray (8/5): - Would recommend staying at this B&B, the views from the the breakfast room are excellent. The owners were very friendly and easy to get along with.
- Rachel (10/5): Perfect accomodation for cyclists - Excellent overnight stay. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable with use of a kitchen area. Breakfast was exceptional with a lot of choice. My friend and I were cycling the Rebellion Way and would definitely recomend this as a place to stay.
- Philip (10/5): B&B perfection - An exceptional place with exceptional hosts, possibly the best full English I’ve had in a b&b with some lovely little touches that makes this an outstanding place to stay.
- Katie (10/5): - The hosts were lovely and the setting was perfect. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend.
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely visit - Lovely place to stay and in a beautiful location. The room I stayed in was excellent and hospitality was brilliant. I feel very comfortable and well cared for.
- Carole (10/5): - Ginny the host was so friendly. My room was clean, comfortable and cosy with an amazing view over the garden. I loved that the guests had a kitchen/dining area to use separate from the hosts kitchen. Will definitely use this b&b again
- Mateen (10/5): Amazing Place - It was an amazing stay, the owners was very welcoming. The garden is so lovely and very pleasing to look out to from the room i stayed in. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
- Peter (10/5): - Very nice and couldn't fault anything
- Martin (10/5): - We loved it .. great accommodation and fantastic breakfast .. run by a lovely couple we have already booked to go back.
- TERRY (10/5): Hazel Barn great place to stay. - Great quiet location lovely property /outlook very friendly hosts , very good breakfast in all great place to stay.
- Ian (10/5): - The property is in a lovely rural location with plenty of parking. We were warmly greeted at the door by our hosts and shown to our rooms. We were staying for a family wedding and booked two rooms. Both rooms were very clean and the tea tray was fantastic with a great selection of biscuits. The views from the rooms were fantastic and the space in the rooms was plenty. Wifi was good and the TV reception was great. The beds were very comfy and the bathroom facilities were excellent.
Our hosts were very accommodating and very approachable. Breakfast is a must....very fresh and very tasty with some homemade jams and plenty of choice from cereals to fresh fruit, full English breakfast and toast or croissants. Very enjoyable stay and will look forward to returning when in the area again. Thank you.
- Rob (10/5): Very accommodating - Brilliant host very accommodating as I arrived late, he also started breakfast early to accommodate my schedule great conversation too cannot fault stay
- Louise (10/5): - Warm welcome, lovely room and having access to fridge, microwave and toaster a bonus for guests will definitely recommend and book again when in the area
- k (10/5): Good place to stay - We found it easily, our hosts were friendly and courteous, breakfast couldnt be faulted, rooms were nicely decorated, we will be returning in the future.
- Michael (10/5): Perfect! - Fantastic stay, very friendly, room was excellent, service amazing, lovely breakfast and perfect location for my business trip. Could not ask for more, thank you.
- Lesley (10/5): Beautiful b&b - Wonderful place to stay, so quiet and peaceful (apart from the cockerel next door once or twice)
Felt like deep countryside but only just outside Diss. Recommend.
- KELLY (10/5): - Hazel Barn is stunning. It’s quiet and rural and all our needs were very ably catered for. We had a beautiful en suite double room, there is a guest kitchen so you are able to make food and drinks at your leisure, but I’d advise not missing breakfast by the hosts which is fabulous.
- Paul (10/5): - The couple are great, breakfast is good.
- Cheryl (10/5): Perfect stay - We stayed here for a family wedding at a local venue.
The host was excellent, we arrived late due to traffic and they was still welcoming at 22:45 hours (sorry)
The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. There was a little kitchenette area that serviced all the rooms. Which had a fridge, microwave and toaster. So if you wanted to make a snack (obviously you bring your own food).
But you wouldn’t need to do breakfast. You get offered cereal, fruit, juices, cooked breakfast and toast. All for the cost of £7.50 each!
If that isn’t enough they will even organise taxis for you, nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. If we ever go to the area again we know where we will be staying.
- Daniela (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Great over night stay - Great welcome, very clean and tidy, plenty of room, not one complaint, definitely recommend.
- Janice (10/5): Definitely worth the money - Our stay at Hazel barn was most enjoyable
Beautiful room
Amazing breakfast
Helpful host, nothing was too much trouble
- CHRIS (10/5): Family Break - We had a family party nearby so booked for a single night stay. We could not have asked for any better accommodation.
Hazel Barn has 3 rooms in an separate annex and we booked them all. There was even a small kitchenette and communal area with games and books etc to share.
Breakfast was great - full cooked English with cereals and fruit.
The rooms were maintained to a high standard and spotlessly clean, whilst the hosts were excellent.
We would definitely stay again.
- Glenys (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Excellent place to stay just outside Diss. Lovely setting and very quiet. Breakfast excellent and very friendly hostess.
- james (10/5): Very comfortable - A lovely welcome at a very comfortable place to stay. Excellent quality beds make a welcome change. Choice of restaurants and shops in Diss, just over 5 minutes away.
Nice breakfast and easy checkout.

- Russell (10/5): Hazel Barn B&B - Really enjoyed our stay here, welcoming and friendly hosts. Lovely situation in the Norfolk/Suffolk countryside. We would certainly return and can fully recommend a stay here. Very quiet and peaceful. Nice touch is having a guest kitchen where you have access to fresh milk and a fridge + microwave.

From the warm personal welcome by the owner, to check out 2 nights later, there was nothing to fault our stay here. The bedroom (Willow) was spacious & overlooked the beautiful garden. The immaculate en-suite bathroom was modern with a spacious shower.
We would not hesitate to book another stay here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommended - Great B&B in a quiet location. Very freindly host. I had to leave early and they made me a great breakfast I could have before they normaly started. Would certainly recommend.
- BRT (10/5): Bliss for country lovers - Our hostess, Ginny, was very accommodating and helpful. Our room was spotless and extremely well equipped. The views from our bedroom were idyllic, with chickens, geese, turkeys roaming free in the paddock adjoining our room, and oceans of cow parsley wafting in the breeze. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking their lovely garden was everything you could wish for. We were delighted with this B and B and would like to come again.
- Patricia (10/5): Hazel Barn Bressingham - Our stay at Hazle Barn was excellent. We were made most welcome by Ginny and offered any help we might need . Our room and en suite shower room were spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The choices offered for breakfast could not have been better and it was all prepared and presented beautifully. We would certainly recommend it and be very happy to return there.

Lovely people and a great place to stay.
- Jonathan (10/5): Lovely overnight stay. - Stayed here for one night during our recent Suffolk/Norfolk road trip...
Warmly greeted by Ginny. Room was nice and the view across the garden was impressive. Good location, although a bit too far to be able to walk back into Diss.
Breakfast was a timed slot to cater for Covid rules. This worked fine, with a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, local cooked breakfast produce and home-made jams etc. Plenty of tea and toast also available.
Not likely to be passing again, but would definitely recommend.
- Andrew (10/5): Delightful rural retreat - Stayed just one night traveling home but wish we had been able to stay for more. Lovely rural location just outside Diss with a real farm feel ... the kids loved the geese and chickens!
The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing!
Rooms are next to the main house and are very spacious and well furnished, and beautifully decorated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very helpful despite my husband’s unfortunate very late arrival.
Friendly.
Excellent breakfast.
Nice views.
- Bridget (10/5): - Host so friendly gave us suggestions for local restaurant and brewery.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely rural location, room was lovely and the owners very welcoming
- Verified traveler (8/5): - a small kitchen was adjacent to the room which was handy.
- lee (10/5): - Fantastic breakfast, room was fine, although the bed was a little small for me and the wife. No complaints, would def recommend.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable stay - Hazel Barn was a lovely place to stay for myself and my girlfriend for a short break. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and Ginny was always on hand to cater for our every need. Our room was fantastic and the views were also amazing, while breakfast was very good and exactly what we wanted ahead of our excursions for the day. Nothing was ever too much for Ginny and it was a thoroughly enjoyable break with top notch accommodation and I will recommend Hazel Barn to anyone who is looking to stay in Norfolk
- Andy (10/5): A hidden gem. - What a great little B&B.. Quiet location and a fabulous couple running it. Breakfast was excellent.
Will stay here again in the future..
- Maddie (10/5): Lovely! - Stayed here for one night as a little get away. The room was incredibly clean and everything smelt like clean washing. The bedding and towels were so soft!
I loved the fact that there was a little kitchen and communal area for guests. The garden was beautiful and the breakfast was amazing!
Would be more than happy to stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cosy place - Family run b&b, great views and stunning breakfast
- Emma (8/5): A quiet retreat - beautiful garden - Lovely stay with a very welcoming and helpful lady - Virginia White. She was very helpful and made our stay easier in terms of finding food/taxis, etc.
- Paul (10/5): Great stay - Great weekend in a picturesque area made to feel so welcome and catered for all my needs some big hotels should stop there and learn a thing or too
- David (10/5): Comfortable, clean and friendly - I booked this B&B as for the date in question no other hotels were available in the area.
The reasons why I wouldn't otherwise have booked are the fact that there is no restaurant and bar available and at first I was a little disappointed that I had no other choice.
After my stay though, I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodation is. Very fresh and new decor, very clean and a very friendly service. Breakfast was also very good.
I would definitely recommend this establishment and would urge people to reconsider their choices if like me they would exclude certain businesses for reasons like mine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fabulous B&B - A night stop between working in Norwich and Cambridge. Other accommodation in the area was very expensive, this was one of the few places in a wide radius that fitted my budget, and very pleased with my choice. Found the place easily (just a mile or two outside of Diss), and no problems parking. Very friendly welcome from the owner Ginny, who was lovely and made me feel very at home. Really nice bedroom/bathroom, spotlessly clean and well presented, with a splendid view out over the back gardens. Bed was very comfortable with luxurious bed linen. I didn't have breakfast, but have no doubt that it would have been delicious. My only slight niggle was that the wifi didn't work at all in the room (with no phone signal either), and was patchy elsewhere, but that didn't detract from my stay. Really super B&B, a true home away from home, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and recommend to others.
- Kevin (10/5): Very welcoming and very pleasant stay. - My son and I really enjoyed out stay here, it was perfect for a weekend watching racing at Snetterton. Room was clean and comfortable and the service first rate. Diss is very close for eating or grabbing a takeaway too. We will be happy to stay here again.
- Mike (8/5): - Booking was a problem but once in everything was very good
Location for us was great
Owners were great
Will go again and will recommend to others
Thanks
- Paul (10/5): A gem! - “I feel like a queen” (Lucy, age 6). From the mouth of babes.
