• Alberini (10/5): Bellissimo resort sull’oceano, adatto per rilassarsi e godersi in pace la bellezza dello Sri Lanka. - Abbiamo gradito molto il pacchetto all inclusive. Inoltre la nostra camera superior con uscita diretta sulla piscina era veramente molto bella e ben tenuta. Ottima pulizia, effettuata ogni giorno, e organizzata con molti servizi come le spedizioni delle cartoline (che si possono acquistare in struttura insieme ai francobolli). Il personale era sempre presente e molto attento ai nostri bisogni. Un grazie infinito a Sadani della reception per averci accolto e per aver ascoltato tutti i nostri bisogni. Ricorderemo con affetto la sua gentilezza e professionalità. Ogni tanto è capitato che saltasse la corrente. Il mini bar dovrebbe offrire anche opzioni di bevande non zuccherate.
• Kurt (8/5): - Bra och varierande buffe'tmat, uppmärksam personal för städning och i matsal. Luftkonditionering fungerar väl kylningsmässigt men är mycket högljudd. Uppmätt till 53 dB A Ca 20 dB A är vad som är ganska vanligt för luftkonditionering i hus med en vanlig värmepump av typen luft-luft och kan betraktas som "tyst". Varje dB-skillnad om 10 dB motsvarar vad som uppfattas som en dubblering / halvering av oljudet. Drygt 30 dB mer uppfattas alltså som 2x2x2 = 8 gånger starkare oljud än från en "tyst" luftkonditionering = inget man vill ha om man ska sova. Personalen i receptionen håller inte samma höga standard som övrig personal, den påminner i mycket om Fawlty Towers,

• Nathalie (8/5): Rundum stimmig - Nicht topmodern-trotzdem hatte es seinen Charm. Überschaubare Anlage. Personal aussergewöhnlich freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Schöner Garten mit direktem Zugang zum Strand (öffentlich!!). Pool hat angenehme Grösse zum Schwimmen. Ayurvedisches Zentrum und Beautyabteilung. Wie gesagt-wer top Ausstattung und Neuanlage sucht, ist hier falsch-trotzdem hats mir an nichts gefehlt..

• Izabela (1/5): Hotel – nicht für Nichtraucher. - Das sri-lankische Personal hat uns sehr gefallen – sie waren äußerst höflich, hilfsbereit und wollten uns jeden Wunsch erfüllen. Das Hotel verdient keine vier Sterne – in keiner Hinsicht. Die Anlage ist alt, vernachlässigt und schmutzig. Die Wassersportausrüstung ist abgenutzt, schmutzig und praktisch unbrauchbar. Auch die Liegen am Pool sind in einem miserablen Zustand – alt, aus Holz, beschädigt und unbequem. Rund um den Pool und an der Poolbar wird überall geraucht. Im Restaurant stehen die Tische für Raucher direkt neben den Nichtrauchertischen, was völlig sinnlos ist. Man muss seine Mahlzeiten im Zigarettenrauch einnehmen. Wir haben das dem Manager Christian Schoepf gemeldet, aber er hat absolut nichts unternommen – seine Aufmerksamkeit galt ausschließlich den deutschsprachigen Gästen. Der Pool ist ein Kapitel für sich. Neben dem ständigen Zigarettenrauch gingen viele Gäste ohne vorheriges Duschen ins Wasser, einige mit sichtbaren Hautproblemen, was ernsthafte hygienische Bedenken hervorruft. Zusätzlich reinigte das Personal jeden Tag während der Badezeiten die Fliesen am Beckenrand, wobei der ganze Schmutz direkt ins Wasser gespült wurde. Das Hotel wirbt mit ayurvedischen Behandlungen, aber von einer Spa-Atmosphäre kann keine Rede sein, wenn auf dem gesamten Gelände Zigarettenrauch in der Luft liegt. Das widerspricht völlig jeder Vorstellung von Entspannung und Gesundheit. Auch das Zimmer entsprach in keiner Weise einem 4-Sterne-Standard. Es war schmutzig, und die Badewanne war verschimmelt, was eine normale Nutzung unmöglich machte. Anstelle einer alten, abgewohnten Badewanne sollte eine Dusche installiert sein – besonders, da das Hotel überwiegend ältere Gäste anzieht, für die das Einsteigen in eine Wanne schlicht gefährlich ist. Nach diesen Erfahrungen kommt eine Rückkehr in dieses Hotel für uns nicht infrage.
• Katarina (10/5): The location is perfect, right on the beach - I arrived early in the morning and was offered early check-in for €55 which included breakfast and access to all the facilities. It was absolutely worth it. Everything was amazing from the food to the treatments. I purchased a three-day package and enjoyed every single session. I also joined the yoga and meditation classes which were a beautiful addition to the experience. The Ayurvedic food was outstanding with a great variety every day. I truly enjoyed every moment of my stay and would gladly return.
• Sean (10/5): Amazing staff at this great Ayurvedic-focused hotel - Great, comfortable hotel with outstanding staff - every single member of staff we came across was amazing: they couldn’t do enough for us. Hugely impressive. Food was great too, with lots of support for me as a coeliac. It was a bit of a walk from shops and most local restaurants, but a tuk tuk cost less than £1, so not a big issue. But the hotel literally backs on to the Indian Ocean, so all good.
• Heike (10/5): Wir kommen gerne wieder - Sehr schöne Zimmer, schöne gepflegte Anlage , nettes Personal . Hier stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis . Manche schreiben die Anlage wäre in die Jahre gekommen. Ja sicher ist es keine neue Anlage, aber es gibt keinen Renovierungsstau , es ist alles sehr gut gepflegt. Hier hat alles gepasst . Schön ist auch , dass der Plastikmüll am Strand weggeräumt wird. Es wäre auch schön wenn das Hotel auch selbst nicht soviel Müll produziert indem die Wasserflaschen in den Zimmern gegen Glasflaschen ausgetauscht werden , die man zentral selbst auffüllt . Dieses System wird ja in vielen Hotels schon erfolgreich umgesetzt.

• sevil (9/5): It was a peaceful and comfortable stay. - Our room was very comfortable, good quality furniture and comfortable bed. The staff is so nice and kind. We were honeymoon couple and at the restaurant they always prepared our table with flowers. Also the staff help us with the city and gave us information. Spa people were also so nice, I loved the whole body massage also hand and feet massage. The only negative thing I can say is the robes given for Spa were smelling so bad. I dont know if it was smell of humidity or what, but I think they need to check and change this. Because you are obliged to wear the given robes for the Spa / massage, and I was really bothered by the bad smell of it.

• Anis (8/5): We has a great holiday in this wellness hotel. Pool & beach and personal touch from the staff are a very nice experi - The first thing to consider for this hotel, is where it is. For Sri Lankan standards, thats a great hotel. For european standards it’s a fair hotel. The staff is amazing. From Stephanie-the manager-to everyone un service. The food is just blunt. The massages are of a fair quality, but dont expect any anatomical knowledge while being massaged. Specially for the face massage.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. A bit too attentive as to my liking. The bed was very small and a pillow was also small and not very comfortable. Also was surprised that alcoholic drinks are not included in the “all inclusive”

• Nadejda (9/5): Superb - First to point it is not an ordinary hotel. It is Ayurveda hotel, place where you can improve your health and reconnect your body and soul. If you are looking for luxury hotel where you can have entertainment and delicious food it is not your place. If you are on purpose it is the proper place for you. I have tried 3 days wellness package of procedures and they were great. I have had a meeting with Ayurveda doctor and have received good advices about my health. The food in Ayurveda restaurant is good maybe it is not the food you are accustomed to. There are tea bar with Ayurvedic teas and a large variety of fresh juices during the day.The room was comfortable and quiet with great view to the beautiful garden. Overall good experience and I intend to come back. The bed and the pillow were not very comfortable. The towels and the bed linen were exhausted. The transfer service they offer is more expensive than usual.

• Laura (5/5): Nice and clean rooms, rest of the experience felt cheap. - The rooms were immaculate. The experience was like being at a German retirement village set in Sri Lanka. Everything in German (not an issue), quiet. The food and drinks options were far below average (fruit lying out, flies, small selections for lunch and dinner, Nescafé powdered instant coffee), bar snacks were tomato and cucumber sandwiches on bread that tasted like dust and a 1” piece of Madeira cake. Alcohol additional cost. Beach nearby essentially a no go as group of men sat outside on patio furniture, facing the exit from the hotel then following you along the beach trying to sell you things.

• Tom (6/5): Lanka experience - Our short stay at Lanka Princess was good but not worth the money we paid, service was goodbut front desk guy was very unhelpful and not really nice to us in both occasions we had chance to deal with him. We ordered some drinks and it didn't came right .Rooms are specious and clean so the bathroom but need bit of renovation. Lovely natural pond with plenty of life in it. German orientated hotel. Overall good quiet hotel with evening entertainment. Easy access to town by tok tok, lovely restaurants in walking distance.
• Olga (10/5): Релакс отель - Отель прекрасен для тех, кто хочет отдохнуть от суеты, расслабиться, полежать и ничего не делать. В новогодние праздники 2019 года было не очень много людей, практически пустые лежаки (они кстати персональные, закреплены за каждым номером, и находятся в тени пальм), свежие соки и очень вкусный травяной чай приносят прямо к лежакам. К еде нет нареканий: два отделения ресторана - местная кухня и европейская, постоянно работал гриль-бар, где еду готовили прямо на глазах; фрукты всегда в доступе. У отеля есть своя аюрведа, но мы не ходили. Номер обычный, достаточно просторный, тесно не было. Вид из всех номеров на внутренний двор с прудом, бассейном и рестораном, кроме тех, которые расположены с торцов отеля, у них частичный вид на океан. Персонал предельно вежлив и услужлив, сервис просто на высоте. Единственным минусом может быть то, что подавляющее большинство отдыхающих немцы, и все ориентировано на них, даже некоторые информационные листы есть только на немецком; однако весь персонал хорошо говорит на английском, проблем у нас не возникло. Территория отеля огорожена, ухоженная и очень зелёная, а к морю ведёт отдельная дорожка, у которой сидят охранники и не пропускают лишних на территорию отеля. Отель расположен рядом с устьем реки, поэтому для того, чтобы искупаться действительно в морской воде, приходилось проходить метров 200 по пляжу.

Direkt am Hotel kommt der Fluss ins Meer, daher gibt es eine gefährliche Strömung und die Wasserqualität ist nicht die Beste. Der Hotelpool ist groß und schön, ansonsten kann man auch mit dem Boot zur Halbinsel übersetzen und hat dort einen schönen Strand und sauberes Wasser.

• Vanessa (8/5): Nettes Hotel - Das Hotel an sich war schön, jedoch hat man in den Zimmern schon gesehen das es in die Jahre gekommen ist. Es war vieles abgemackt. Der Service ist sehr gut, alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Das Essen ist gut und der Pool ist schön. Das einzige was uns gestört hat war, das es keine Liegen gab von wo man den Strand gesehen hat, da dieser durch eine Hecke abgetrennt ist. Vor dem Hotel direkt zum Strandzugang lauern Männer, die einem eine Bootsfahrt andrehen wollen. Man muss schon ziemlich deutlich werden damit sie einen in Ruhe lassen. Das empfanden wir als ziemlich störend. Der Strand an sich ist ganz nett, aber es gibt schönere. Wenn man in die Stadt fährt sollte man aufpassen. Es ist wirklich schrecklich, man wird von allen Seiten angesprochen und teilweise wurden wir regelrecht durch die Läden verfolgt! Entspanntes Shoppen ist da nicht. Sowas haben wir auf unserer ganzen Rundreise nicht erlebt. Aber dafür kann das Hotel nichts.
• Rakesh (8/5): Boutique hotel with class. - we stayed there for 3 nights and had a great stay. Breakfast was well laid and the al fresco dining is superb. The circular pool is lovely and access to the beach is just great. People found of ayurveda treatment would love this hotel but since I did not try it no idea of the effectiveness of the treatments.

Ich hatte ein Superior Zimmer, das würde ich jedem empfehlen - sehr groß, super Bett/Matratze und ein wunderschönes Badezimmer. Alkohol ist im AI nicht enthalten, ist aber preiswert. Ein Glas Wein oder 1 Flasche Bier kosten LKR 600 (aktuell ca EUR 3,30). Der Strand vor dem Hotel ist sicherlich nicht der allerschönste auf Sri Lanka aber man kann weit laufen. Die Überfahrt mit einem Boot zu der kleinen vorgelagerten Insel kostet aktuell LKR 300. Würde dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great place to rejuvenate! - Very good hotel if your looking for Ayurveda treatment. Facilities were excellent and the staff were very informative and helpful. Every evening there is a lecture on different aspects of Ayurveda and they also have a daily timetable of free yoga,tai chi and meditation sessions.
• Caz (6/5): If you're not German forget about it! - Loved the location, amazing facilities, incredible buffet meals! A very warm welcome by staff and the wait staff were extremely helpful! What we didn't like was that this hotel is German orientated and we are obviously not German. Because of this we found it had a totally different vibe about the place amongst guests. Nobody told us you weren't allowed to smile or talk!! Very strange indeed... it's like nobody smiled or greeted other guests, ever! Enjoyed facilities and meals but wouldn't recommend it unless you were German!

• Günter (10/5): Rundum wohlfühlen im Lanka Princess! - Das Lanka Princess ist ein Hotel, das unsere Erwartungen an ein angenehmes Urlaubsdomizil auf Sri Lanka in jeder Hinsicht mehr als erfüllt hat: Sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage, großzügige und gut ausgestattete Zimmer und ein überaus zuvorkommender und freundlicher Service in allen Bereichen des Hotels. Die Zufahrt zum Hotel ist eher unscheinbar, dafür erwartet einen nach dem Betreten der Anlage eine Atmosphäre, die beim Gast sofort den Erholungsmodus aktiviert. Für Gäste, die vor allem Ruhe, Entspannung und ein gepflegtes Ambiente suchen und sich gerne an erlesenem Essen erfreuen, ist das Haus perfekt. Familien mit Kindern oder junge Leute, die eher auf Parties, ein gesellige Unterhaltungsprogramm oder ein buntes Sport- und Animationsangebot Wert legen, sollten sich dagegen nach anderen Lokationen umsehen. Wir hatten nach einer knappen Urlaubswoche eine fünftägige Rundreise unternommen und uns nach der Rückkehr in das Hotel so gefühlt, als wären wir wieder nach Hause zurückgekehrt. Wir waren das erste Mal auf Sri Lanka und schließen weitere Reisen in dieses sehr interessante Land definitiv nicht aus. Dann aber steht fest: Auf jeden Fall wieder in das Lanka Princess!
• Jenni (8/5): - The best thing about this hotel is the chill factor round the pool. It mainly has German guests and most things are in German but they do have english available. The food is nothing special though with the buffet being very expensive for Sri Lanka but they have some cheaper meal option altough not many. Also I had a room over the outside dining area and they had different music playing everynight until about 10pm My balcony and view of the pool area was amazing and i did love my room.
• Vishnu (8/5): Very quiet hotel efficiently managed - This hotel is owned and run by Germans so the quality and efficiency is assured. It's mainly focused towards Ayurvedic treatments for German speaking clients. If you take the all inclusive package you will enjoy their wide selection of food. Unfortunately we took B&B as we wanted to dine a la carte, disappointing! There's very little selection in their a la carte menu. The breakfast, though, was ample and and with variety. If you want a quiet stay and tranquility, then this is an excellent choice. If you want to see young people and a bit of noise and fun, this is not the place for you.
• Sebastian (10/5): A very relaxing stay - We would love to go back to this high quality resort due to its great service and fantastic food. The rooms and pool area are really suberb and the gym has a pole and free weights which is a must for any respectable gym. We even had the pleasure to run into the host/owner of the resort there who was a very friendly and helpful man. During one of our dinners we also chatted with a fellow national who traveled around reviewing hotels who could agree on that it was a resort of high standards. Many more nice things to say about this place but better that you experience it for yourself.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Brush up on your German before you go ! - Lovely pool and gardens / right on beach however no hotel sun beds / umbrellas on beach. The service excellent / however rooms could do with a major refurb / food generally buffet and only so so. Ayurveda medicine / treatments seemed to be a major focus and many guests appeared to be there for that reason. Also 99% of guests are German. For me this was a last minute booking - got a budget rate however so for a bit more money Sri Lanka offers much better hotels however if you just want to flop at pool and have some treatments its fine

Die Aussenanlagen sehr gepflegt, das Personal sehr freundlich Etwas schlecht waren die Erfahrungen mit dem Sicherheitspersonal - teilweise unfreundlich. Das Essen ganz in Ordnung -vermissen kann man lokale Speisen und wenn sie gereicht werden, gibt es keine Informationen zu den angebotenen Gerichten.

• Ian (8/5): All inclusive on the beach - I stayed here for 4 nights after 3 days travelling around central Sri Lanka. The hotel is in between Aluthgama and Beruwela. Both are a short tuk-tuk ride away. It's a German managed hotel and this is reflected in the efficiency and reliability of the service given. German is the most common language heard spoken by both guests and staff, it is very much marketed towards guests from Germany, Austria, Switzerland. I must stress however that I I was treated with great courtesy and friendliness by all the staff I came into contact with and all spoke at least some English. Reception was handled very professionally with two staff showing me around the hotel, its facilities and my room. The room itself was of a decent size, no bath but a good shower. Lovely room balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. There was a minibar with soft drinks, all of which were included in the booking price, the internet worked great in my room but less well in the lobby! Mosquito net was also provided. My only real gripe is that the bed was actually 2 single beds put together which did not actually work as a double bed. A very quite hotel, no children under 13 allowed. Food was of a very high quality, good selection rotation, pleasingly it is almost entirely local in nature.Terrific waiter service. As an Ayurvedic resort there are plenty of facilities and dining options to support that if you are interested. Access to the beach is via a gate with a security guard at the bottom of the pool gardens.
• lesley (10/5): Lanka Princess Happy Christmas holiday! - Stayed for 10 days for a family Christmas. German run hotel of a very high standard...from rooms to pool to customer service. The food is included and is outstanding.. So much choice and and good mix of Sri Lankan and international cuisine! Soft drinks included and alcohol very desk ably priced. We had to pay an extra amount at the hotel or the 3 days covering Christmas, which was well worth it. Service was excellent from all departments.. we will definitely go back!
• Amanda (6/5): A hotel just for German Speakers! - The hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious and staff were outstanding. The beach wasn't clean and because of the location of the hotel we couldn't swim in the sea as it was extremely dangerous - we were informed by the locals that the part of the beach was full of rip tides and currents which we could see for ourselves - very scary! Everything was in German, all the tourist information, the guides, even when we were checking out the feedback forms were in German. We asked the staff about this as English is an international language which is widely spoken throughout the world, we were informed that the owner and GM were German therefore everything was in German. This is fine but there should information provided in English and other languages too! When we arrived the GM was there, he went to all the German speakers tables to chat with them but did not greet us or the other British and Australian guests who were there also. This isn't acceptable by any standards but specifically when you are advertising your hotel with a company such as Expedia, they might want to reconsider this or perhaps extend their vision to encompass guests from all over the world! The food wasn't great again it was 90% German food which we didn't like. When advertising this hotel it should specify "preferable German guests only". I should say though we were fortunate enough to meet some lovely German guests too. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel, but the staff were amazing!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Sri Lanka visit October 2014 - Hospitality is excellent. The Hotel staff are very helpfull and friendly. The property is a bit on the old side but nonetheless, is clean and run efficiently. The hotel caters mainly for German clientel with most information sheets in German only. If your not a German speaker, would help to brush up on your German reading skills. Overall though, very nice.
