- Richard (8/5): - It's an easy walk into town approx 10 minute walk to Woolies. we had a car and found the location of Alatai handy to explore sites beyond the city.We had a studio ground floor appmt, the ensuite bath is dated but serviceable, the room was clean. overall very happy with our 6 day stay.
- Chi (10/5): - clean room with reasonable price, friendly staffs
- Sharron (8/5): - Great communication prior to and during our stay. We had a flight arriving after midnight - the staff arranged for us to access keys on arrival. Two bed apartment was spacious. Free parking on site
- Felicity (8/5): - The staff are lovely and considerate. I was unwell during my stay and they went out of their way to help me and checked in regularly to make sure I was ok and didn’t need anything more.
- Debbie (8/5): - Had good amenities and lovely pool area. Very clean and in good conditions although a little dated was still great place to stay.
- Alex (8/5): - This is an older property that could use a bit of love. The room was clean and reasonaly well appointed. There is nothing wrong, just a few little things that had no effect on our stay or use of the facility. I would stay here again.
- Malcolm (8/5): - Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location and was good value for an apartment in the cbd.
Thankyou
Malcolm
- Byron (10/5): - Stayed in two different rooms for one night before and after a Kakadu trip. in both rooms the bed was great. Both rooms had good space and there was even a washer and dryer in the bathroom.
- Claudia (8/5): - A quiet and comfortable place with great customer service.
- Kevin (6/5): - Stayed 2 nights… staff were lovely, however this property whilst it was ok for the price we paid, it needs a thorough deep clean… Shower area was very dirty… lacking utensils in kitchen area… only one bedside lamp on one side of the bed.. no instructions on how to use the TV… but we figured it out… this property just needs updating and it would be lovely… it’s conveniently located but needs an overhaul…
- HORACE BRETT (10/5): - Good location and helpful staff. Quiet area
- Michael (8/5): - For an old style Hotel it’s keep neat and tidy with everything you need inside the room and was comfortable , very nice and friendly staff.
- Eve (10/5): - Very relaxing
- Liz (10/5): - Great location. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Ironing board needs some padding on it. Very hard to iron clothes. Great pool.
- Ken (10/5): - Clean cheap close to city centre
- Eve (10/5): Excellent clean room - Very relaxing as l had elective surgery I needed a quiet & relaxing place
- Patricia (10/5): - The Alatai is centrally located and walking distance to the city and Stokes Hill Wharf. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would recommend and stay again.
- Stephen (8/5): - good location
- karen (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Good location.
- Michael (8/5): - Value for money option. A little out of the city but still walkable. Not mann dining options close by. Property is dated and needs some TLC however the bed was comfortable and rooms were clean and comfortable enough.
- Ranil gehantha (2/5): - not good
- Sean (10/5): I give it a 10/10 - Was really good I used the pool every day before and after work I wa wonky there for 4 days but my stay was the best I would recommend it again
- janos (10/5): Simply "wow"" - Just expected a basic accommodation.
But was way more than that!!
Staff was welcoming and pleasant.
Room had aircon turned on when entering.
Very thoughtful on a hot day.
Could find no fault while staying.
Looking forward staying again next in Darwin!!!!
Thank you
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Comfortable apartment. All good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Daisy went above and beyond to help me organise my stay, activities and transport on arrival, after hours check in is safe and easy to use. Easy walking distance to bus stops and town. Very impressed that my room had a washing machine and dryer IN IT and it wasn't just access to a laundry room/service. I will definitely be returning next time. The shower is a bit of a tight squeeze to access which may explain why it didn't appear very clean, or maybe the grout just needs updating, otherwise quite clean and comfortable.
- clive (8/5): - Pool was good. Maybe needed a bit more of a clean.
- Pauline (10/5): - Very Helpful and accommodating staff, great communication and nice clean pool, location is not too bad either
- Jennifer (8/5): - Clean and quiet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Older building but good value. A little further out from CBD and waterfront than we thought but walkable or reasonable taxi fares to places.
- David (8/5): - Place was good, 2br apartment was very nice, tidy, brilliant base. The location is excellent and the pool is great.
- Robert (10/5): - Good apartment with plenty of room and not expensive. Good to have a small kitchen and fridge. Rooms get serviced each day except Sunday which is good. Parking is available so you don’t have to park on the street.
- Louise (10/5): - Great stopover. 91 year old was very happy with the bed and other family members also happy with conditions and service.
- Dominic (8/5): - Close to the city and was always easy to park. Only issue was accessibility as we were on the second floor and there were only stairs.
- Wendy (8/5): - Separate bedrooms, equipped kitchen, laundry and spacious lounge.
- Robert (8/5): - Central to everything if you like walking
- Rashelle de (6/5): - Rooms are old & tired. Rust, mold, disintegrating blind. Fine for a bed & shower. Cafe/coffee shop not open. A bit worrying as chain on door, gap around door, wood piece for bathroom window. Check in & staff great.
- June (4/5): - Very tired, showers to small, need a car to get around,to far to walk in the heat
- Jemma (4/5): - Not worth the price. Booked for 3 nights and had to extend an extra night. The extra 1 night cost me almost twice the rate I had paid for the previous nights. Drunks screaming at 3am when they couldn’t get into their room. Rubbish bags, dirty socks laying around the grounds. Young people obviously selling drugs and not trying to hide it. Broken ammenities. You could hear everything happening in the room next door. Horrible.
- Anthony (8/5): - Very clean great rooms
- Flora (6/5): - We had a great week in Darwin the accommodation was abit out of town and basic but comfortable and had everything you need
- Phillip (10/5): - Although the units are a little dated they are comfortable, spacious and very clean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Shower tap handle comes off when showering, fans are old and wobbly, curtain rail came off completely when trying to open curtains, cannot switch aircon on main bedroom on/off with the remote so had to use switch at distribution board, no egg lifter.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - overall condition was lower standard than we expected for the price we paid for the 11 days,As i have a health problem they tried and were very helpful in accomandating me with required appliances which made it a lot easier for me.Very disappionted of the fact that the pool was closed for renovations after we were there 5 days. overall satisfided
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quirky, nice place. We all had a great time. Nice and close to town.
- Holidaymaker (2/5): - A very dirty, run down, poorly maintained play to stay.
We found hair in the beds, the place stunk. Nothing worked and were awoken by the other “regular” patrons. Will never ever stay ever stay again.
- Unhappy (2/5): - Location great.
Bed had Clean sheets but for the rest of the room didn't look like it was properly cleaned.
Stayed once before got the same room asked to be moved.
Fan has never been cleaned wow..
Very disappointed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s near cbd and having a 2 bedroom apartment where everything you need is there is just awesome.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - As usual. Best value to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I have stayed many places on Darwin however this accommodation beats all others hands down for value for money. Staff were very accommodating are worked around my late arrival and check out. Facilities are clean, modern with quality bedding, catering brilliantly for guests by providing kitchenette and washing machine
Bed was of a superior quality, it is rarley that i can stay in a motel and not wake with back issues. Location is ideal, very few steps to Darwin City shopping district. You would pay $140.00 per night for this room anwhete else. Do yourself and your pocket a favour, stay here you wont be dissapointed.
- Stephen (6/5): Needs a refurb but central location - Ok I wasn’t expecting a lot as the price was very good but it was very tired. The bathroom tap didn’t stop dripping and got fixed as I was checking out, we couldn’t swim in the pool because of chemicals added( no warning). Easy walk to Botanical gardens. The staff were very pleasant so all up not a bad place to stay if you want just a bed to sleep in when you come back from exploring all day
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was clean when we first checked in but we stayed 6 nights and other than bringing fresh towel and emptying the kitchen bin, nothing else was done so floors and bathroom were quite dirty by the time we left. Loved having a washer and dryer and oven in the apartment although the stove/oven needs updating because it took ages to warm up and was quite rusty looking.
- Swee Meng (8/5): - Location is good, close to the city and there is Thai Indian Restaurant nearby. The check in for odd hours did not turn out so good this time for me. Someone else took my key and room. Hotel should consider unique safe code for different guests.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The clients advised that the apartments were in need of a good clean and renovation. The location of the apartments was borderline industrial. There seemed to be people staying there as permanent residents and were quite loud at times.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Good location. Supplied our every need
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I like the firmness of the bed and the fact that you can open the sliding door to let air in.
The bathroom was not very clean, the shower and drains needs a major scrubbing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff are very friendly and attentive. Even though it is an older style building, it had all the facilities we needed for the 3 weeks we stayed and had a lovely pool also.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bathroom door rotten at base. rotten being long term
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location
However, lack of kitchenette amenities - no proper cooking utentils, even for a kitchennette.
But good service and staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was fine, except the mattress is too soft for me. The spring makes sound when you turn side. Causes backaches.
- Cath (8/5): - Househeeking were very attentive with fresh towels every day and 2 sheet changes in 12 day stay as well as supplying tea, coffee and milk each day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is fantastic, could use a little sprucing up though. A tea towel supplied would be helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was exactly as described. Matched its 3.5 / 5 rating. Wifi was flakey at best.
- Verified traveler (8/5): cleanliness 5* - The staff are helpful, friendly and warm
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great price, very clean, very comfortable beds. All the amenities required for a comfortable stay. The outside is not reflective of the comfort of the rooms.
- Gregory (8/5): A comfortable stay at a reasonable price. - We stayed 6 nights in this hotel. The room is quite big and has a kitchenette. It is a bit far away from the centre of the city (take about 20 min walk) but has a Cole Express nearby and a Thai restaurant next to the hotel. It is close to the botanical garden. The best thing is it has a washing machine and dryer in the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were lovely, the pool area was really nice, the room facilities were good and the bed and pillows were comfy. The only downside was l had a late flight and although l could still use the pool area during my wait, there were no bathroom facilities available to use.
- S (8/5): - Location was great. Close to , but not in centre of most things. Good Indian/Thai take away next door. Plenty of parking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Handy location to airport and city. Our unit hadn't seen a duster for a long time dust was thick on TV and table and whole place in need of a revamp. Having said that it was fine for the price we paid . Would stay again but check room first to see if it was clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was close to the city and the casino. The pool was good and room service was good
- Irene (8/5): Great service - Overall the stay was great, the reception staffs was of very great help, thumb up for them.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good position. Clean and neat. Great rooms. Aircon in each room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I stay overnight in Darwin regularly when in transit to/from Katherine and have stayed in most hotels at some point. Only disappointment is I didnt stay here sooner. It's budget but our appartment was spottlessly clean, well appointed and the beds comfy with decent linen. The Green Chillies restaurant attached is convenient and delicious. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - If you want 5 star accommodation do not book. But if you want a clean reasonably priced accommodation near to the city centre this is your place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The three bedroom we stayed at was very clean and the for price we paid it was excellent! We will be back :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the air cons in each room. I didn’t like to amount of noise was made from other guests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great customer service!
- Van (8/5): - Located just near the Darwin CBD, the hotel is clean and provides us almost every facilities, the staffs (Su, Joyce, Dolly) were very helpful... Overall experience was awesome. We will recommend this hotel to every couple and families.
- paula (10/5): - Nice big clean comfortable room with everything you could want good air con and also ceiling fan
Staff extremely helpful nothing to much trouble
Could walk to the Esplanade and Waterfront and the town not having the bother of parking if ever in Darwin again would certainly stay here again
As we get up early it would be nice if breakfast could be at 7 not half past but staff let us in early as it was ready
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quite comfortable. A bit dated. A couple of nights it was noisy during the night.
Staff were excellent and easy to deal with.
- Verified traveler (6/5): ???? - Is a good family accommodation, just didnt get my refund from my bond, because there were 3 spots on the carpet which cost $200 ?? And was told we left the room dirty.
- Peter (8/5): Comfortable, quiet accommodation close to CBD. - Because I did not have access to a vehicle the location was what I needed. Close to bus stop, Coles Shell servo for food, snacks etc, pub across the road.
The apartment had a large inviting swimming pool, also a washing machine, dryer, microwave oven in the apartment. My only small gripe are the pillows on the bed were so fat, I usually sleep with slimmer width ones. I found them uncomfortable. Otherwise all good overall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Darwin trip. - Took a trip to Darwin staying overnight. on arrival we were upgraded.
Plenty of others travellers staying here.
- Maggie (6/5): Too far from cbd
- Apartment had only microwave for cooking purposes, ( this didn't rotate) extremely dirty windows & ceiling fan that hadn't been cleaned in a long time, remote for air conditioning kept falling apart. On plus side bed very comfortable & staff polite & very helpful.
- Joanne (10/5): Holiday Apartment - I enjoyed living at my away from home holiday apartment. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a beautiful swimming pool with waterfall for all to enjoy. The apartment was spacious for the whole family as well as comfortable. Well worth the money spent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We were on a drive in a motorhome around kakadu, then everyone became sick with gastro. Fortunately we found this apartment to recover in. ASpartment OK and staff helpful, but the whole trip was a failure.
