• Trevor (9/5): it was more than i expected, good stay for the price. - location was really good, i could walk to most of the tourist spots. hostel is really fun and laid back. the bar gives out free shots every evening. Room was clean and overall i think it was good for the price. some bathrooms have a faulty shower curtain and water sprays onto the bathroom floor. Also if you're sleeping in the front area it can be a little loud since they play music in the bar. I asked to be changed rooms and since it was off season they didnt have a problem and was able to get a quieter room.
• Julian (9/5): overall a great stay, would recommend. - the layout of the hostel is very spacious, lots of different common areas indoor and out. The events were also fun, the hostel bar gives out free vodka shots every evening. Location is good, nightlife and sightseeing both walkable. some bathrooms could def use a remake, there is no breakfast although the hostel offers free coffee which was good. thats what comes to mind....

SOY CHILENO Y ES EL MEJO - El personal muy acogedor, me sentí en casa al entrar por esa puerta, es un lugar mágico cpon un potencial increible. todo limpio, linda decoración, huéspedes amables, nada malo que decir. EXCELENTE HOSPEDAJE. Algún taller de terapias ocupacionales, hubiese sido entrete, incluso para que los mismos huéspedes, vayan dejando sus creaciones como parte de un legado.

• marco (7/5): - L' Hostel è molto bello e ben posizionato. La mia camera era veramente piccola per 6 persone e senza finestra, per cui purtroppo odorava davvero male. È un hostel internazionale, qui parlano tutti inglese e non sembra di essere in Cile.

Me ha gustado que ha lugar para poder trabajar desde tu computadora, el internet es rápido afuera y también hay cocina. Cuando llegue mi cama aún no estaba hecha. Y el internet no llega tan bien en las literas superiores.

• Emer (7/5): Solo traveller - Located near a lot of nightlife and easy to get to. Staff were friendly and the bbq on Sunday is a nice touch. As it is near night life a lot of people go out late so the dorms can be noisy till late. Shower pressure wasn't great but I think that's normal for Santiago

• Samantha (3/5): Party hostel - Good location and the decoration was great The noise was insane. I had to check out a day early because I’d had 2 nights of no sleep. Music blaring until 3-4am and people shouting which woke me up multiple times even with earplugs in. If you’re 21 and want to stay up all night drinking then this place is fab. If you’re a bit older/have a private room upstairs above the bar then please look elsewhere

• Ruth (10/5): - I can't recommend La Chimba enough, mostly because of how kind and generous the staff were. I was moving around South America and they very kindly stored my luggage and were so trustworthy and communicative. There is a lovely feeling when you check in, all the staff and volunteers are at reception hanging out there and it's really welcoming. The beds are so comfortable and the dorms have a unique layout with your own little 'cubby'. The showers and facilities are good and they have lots of events. I stayed elsewhere in Santiago for a few nights and I would definitely suggest La Chimba. It's well situated to the centre but also you're halfway to the Northern areas like Providencia and Barrio Italia so it's a perfect centre point. Thanks so much again to the staff there for their kindness :)

Quizás, junto con el café unas galletitas. También dejar indicaciones para no perderse porque la casa era super grande. Y delimitar mejor los espacios...terraza uno, rincón "X", cosas así.

• Rory (5/5): - Hostel is a good location and is a cool building with comfy rooms However, there was no running water for 2+ days of my stay, meaning: no flushing toilets, no access to kitchen and no showers (tricky for things like basic hygiene). No explanation was given by staff, other than a sign on the bathroom doors showing the alternative method for flushing the loo and recommending a basin of cold water if you wanted to clean yourself.
• Daniela (1/5): - La decoración -ese día había corte de agua y decían q tenían una alternativa para los baños que resultó ser tirar la cadena con 1 jarro pero a pesar que el jarro si estaba,no tenían agua disponible cerca por lo tanto tuve que hacer pis sobre el pis de otras personas. La casa es antigua y la madera suena demasiado por lo que cuando era de mañana me desperté por el ruido de alguien que estaba limpiando y no pude dormir más,aparte el precio que aparece en la página no es igual,contemple eso porque luego debes pagar más y en mi caso cpn el inconveniente del agua me hubiese gustado algún descuento o que al menos tuvieran bidones de agua para tirar la cadena pero nada No volveré
• Sebastian (10/5): Great hostel - Hostel was very big but well cleaned, full of stuff to do and the atmosphere was super nice and friendly. The room was exactly what we needed and it even had something we did not see at all during our trip thus far - a room heater!!!

• Alexander (5/5): Passable - Staff tried to be as helpful as possible and Dona the cat who think it's the boss ( she certainly is) The hostel run based on volunteers, most of the time they have no idea of what's going on, I get people needs to make money, but using 80% of the staff as volunteers who constantly change is not a good idea. The hostel is basically some old houses they put together and then painted, it looks old and not maintained, bathrooms rally dirty and hit water works only when it wants. Also, shared beds should have curtains so at least you have a bit of privacy but no

We love the fact that there are so many places where you can relax or share with other travellers (they also host events on some nights).
